Hello, my love's and welcome back to my hair Channel today, I'm bringing you another tutorial full of some amazing boho braids, because I know how much you guys love boho braids, but this is going to be the winter edition. The reason why I'm calling these winter boho braids is because I personally think that these boho braids look amazing with sweaters. They are a perfect complement to a chunky, turtleneck sweater - that is my personal favorite way of wearing them, and I know you're probably wondering Nicki how come you're not wearing a chunky, turtleneck sweater. That'S because I have like six lights around me and if I were to wear one of those sweaters I would be sweating profusely and it would not be a pretty sight. Obviously, though, there are no rules on how you can rock these winter boho braids, you don't have to necessarily rock them in the wintertime. This is just inspiration for you guys you can also rock them any season. Sorry, I also forgot to mention the elephant in the room. My new background, it's technically not new. That'S probably why it kind of just slipped my mind here. This is actually the background that I had for my Beauty setup, which is right here off camera, which you don't see for those of you who are new or not aware. I do have a second channel and since May of 2016, that's the month that I launched my second channel. It was mainly a beauty channel makeup channel a little bit of a hack channel makes the travel vlogs kind of all over the place. So recently I converted that channel into a hack channel. So since I'm not going to be using this background, a lot for my hack videos, I decided to move this beautiful background over here and see how it looks with this set up and I'm really loving it. So let me know what you guys think about my new background in the comments below I actually made this background by hand, it's just a simple large canvas and they took a bunch of full hours and stuck them onto the canvas using a glue gun. It took me quite a long time to do, but I am really happy with it there's so many different things that I use it for so hopefully you guys like it and don't mind if I'm going to swap it in one in a while, for my usual Background all right, I'm going to stop yapping, I'm sure you guys want to see what these winter boho braids are all about. So if you want to see that keep on watching so first things first, I clipped in my 240 grams set of fancy hair extensions. I clip in all of the web´s it comes with twelve West's total, except for the for one clip weft and these ones I'm going to be saving for hairstyles that I want to show you a little bit later in this tutorial, so I'm going to set these Aside for now, and then I use my t3 world trio, curling wand, I used the one inch straight barrel to create these beachy boho waves. All I did was took one to two inch sections of hair and I curls each section of hair in alternating directions. So once I was finished curling my hair, I ran my fingers through my hair just to get all of the tight curls out of there and help these waves kind of intertwine with one another, and this is the finished result. I'M pretty sure I did at least one tutorial on how to get beachy waves feel free to check that out. If you guys are interested. So now that I have the texture in my hair, it's going to help me play up the boho braids a lot more. So for the first little braid, I'm going to gather my hair to one side and I'm going to leave out the space framing pieces now some of you guys always complain when I do this, I'm not sure why I personally really like how this looks, but again Everything that I'm doing is optional. So if you don't like something, you don't have to do it so now that I have all of my hair gathered to one side, I'm just going to brush it out, just to make sure there are no tangles, and that way I can have an easier time For reading my hair, I'm going to separate my hair now into three equal sections and notice they're bringing a three strand braid, but it has a little bit of a twist so usually for a three strand braid. You take one of the five strands. So let's say I'm working with this side strand first and you just cross it over the middle, and then you take the next side strand and cross it over in the middle and basically just keep repeating these steps until you get to the end of the braid. But for the braid, then, would it be braiding today? What I'm going to do is take a slice strand and you insert my pointer finger in the middle of the strand and open it up with my thumb and I'm going to take the middle strand and pull it through this opening. Just like that, and you want to kind of pull it tight, otherwise it's going to become too loose so now this is a new middle strand and this is a new size strand. So I'm going to do the same thing on this side, but my pointer finger and thumb through the middle grab, the new middle section and pull it through and now this is the new middle section. So now, on the next five section, man do the same thing for my pointer finger in some sort of the middle and pull the middle through that opening and then again put the pointer finger and thumb through the side strand and pull the middle strand through that Opening, okay and I'm going to keep repeating these steps until I get all the way to the bottom of the braid all right. So I'm going to stop right about here and I'm going to take a small hair elastic and tie the ends together so that they don't go anywhere and essentially what we've created is a 3d braid. So what I'm going to do now is I'm going to go in into each section and gently pull out on these sides of the braid, and this is going to give the braid some more texture it's going to loosen it up, make it look thicker and obviously Make it look more boho, because it's more undone looking and it kind of looks like you braided two braids and stuck them together, but really they are attached. You want to just keep pulling it apart until you're happy with it. I am almost there. You guys know how much I love to pull apart, my braids and just not a fan of those perfectly done, braids and like when mine have some texture to them. It just makes them look more interesting and when I'm done, this is what my braid is going to look like and just to finish everything all I'm going to take a small strand from the ends of the braid and wrap it around the hair elastic to cover It up and to secure that in place and taking a bobby pin - and this is the same color as my hair and just pinning it in the back this next local braid. Again, I'm going to gather my hair to one side and separate my hair into two sections and just clip away one of the sections away in the meantime and with the first section, I'm going to again separate it in two. So now I have two strands that I'm working with and I'm going to twist these strands scores my fate and wrap them around each other away from my face. So essentially, I'm creating a growth rate and once I have a few inches of hair left, I'm just going to tie off the braid at the end and with the second section I'm going to do the same thing. So I'm just going to create another rope braids at this time, I'm just going to twist the sections in the opposite direction. So I'm going to separate this working section into two and then instead of twisting the strength towards my face and when it's whisk them away from my face and then wrap them around each other towards my face and I'm tying off the ends with an elastic. Now I'm going to go into each braid and I'm going to pull out on the twist just lock them up by the way guys. I forgot to mention that a lot of you have been asking me what shade of fancy hair extensions I wear so I did mention this a few times in some previous videos. I wear the creme brulee blonde set and again it's the 240 grams set that comes with 12 pieces. I know that it looks a little ashy er than what it looks like on the website, but that's because I toned mine, so I told mine with purple shampoo very easy to do. I posted a video on how to tone wand, hair extensions on my channel. I think about a month or two ago - maybe two months very easy. You basically just want to create a water bath in a container put some purple shampoo in there to dilute it and just dunk each weft into the water. At a time until you get your desired color very easy and you can see my hair extensions still look amazing, it doesn't damage them as long as you do it right. You guys were interested in that I'd highly recommend, checking out that video and I've been wearing these hair extensions for about three months or so and they're still pretty much as good as new. Ok. So now I'm going to have my two rope braids. What I'm going to do is start wrapping them around each other, very gently. I don't want to wrap them too much because it's going to be too tight. So this is perfect and then I'm going to take a another elastic and tie them together at the end and I'm going to remove those elastics that are keeping each individual row parade together, because we need those anymore so essentially we're creating one big chunky row braid That looks like this and to cover up the elastic, I'm just going to do the same thing that I did in the previous hairstyle. Take a small section from the ponytail wrap it around the elastic and just pin it in place with a bobby pin or two, and this is what the double row braided boho braid - should look like. Okay, so for this next hairstyle again, I'm going to be braiding on the side. You don't have to braid these braids on the side, I'm just doing it for demonstration purposes, and it's just much easier for me to see what I'm doing when it's on the side. You can totally do it going down the back or whatever you want there, absolutely no rules to what I'm doing and just giving you inspiration. So this time I'm going to separate about a third of my hair and I'm going to clip it away in the meantime, we'll get back to that later. With this section, I'm going to create a fishtail braid and when you separate the four thin section into two and to braid a fishtail braid, you simply want to start off on one side and I'm going to take chunkier pieces. This is going to give the fishtail braid a love that it's like a crossbreed between a fishtail braid and a regular braid, and because I'm using chunkier sections this one's also going to be much easier and faster to braid. So I'm taking a chunkier section from one side crossing it over and combining them with the opposite side, and I'm doing the same thing on this side and picking a chunkier section crossing it over and combining with the opposite side and I'm kind of taking these chunky Sections from the back inside of these sections, if you can see that I'm taking from the back talking it over and combining with the opposite sections in the back crossing it over combined music section. And I'm going to repeat these steps until I get to the bottom debris all right. So I'm going to stop right about here and I'm going to tie off the ends with an elastic and then I'm going to go in and pull out on these sides of the braid or even out to see this anymore. I'M pretty much going to do this with every single braid in this tutorial. You guys know when I create boho braids. This is my staple is, if you don't, do this not going to be much of a bubble braid another trick that you can do to mess up your boho braids, even more, if you want to, is to take an old toothbrush and back home your braids just To give them a little bit more texture, alright, so I'm pretty happy with that. So this is B here that it clipped away in the beginning. So with this section I'm going to separate it into two and then braid a rope braid. So I'm going to twist both sections towards my face and wrap them around each other away from my face and for this row braid I'm going to hole out on the twist just a little bit, not too much because otherwise you're not going to be able to See the braid behind it. I want to pull it out a little bit just so it's not so perfect. You know, if you think about it. Boho braids are supposed to be effortless and easy, but to make them look effortless and easy takes a lot more work, but in my opinion, it's totally worth it alright. So now that I've done that, I'm going to take these two braids and I'm going to tie them together with an elastic I'm going to remove that elastic goes keeping the original braid together. This time, I'm going to do something a little bit different, I'm going to Lu the end of the braid like this, just to give it a little bit of a different vibe. You guys don't have to do this. I know that some of you didn't like what I did this most of you loved it again to each his own. Everyone has their own preference. You don't have to do exactly what I'm showing you. This is just for inspiration. You do you sew. These braids are attached together at the ends, but I want to make it a little bit more secure. So I'm just going to take a couple bobby pins and secure the back of the row braids to the front of that fishtail braid kind of weaving. The bobby pin through the first braid and through the second braid, and that way you can see there are a lot more secure he's going to do it one more time right here and if you want to you, can take a small strand on the ends that You twist it up and wrap them around that elastic, pin it in place with a bobby pin that way. It looks a little bit more refined boho. If that's even a thing now it is and when you're done, your braids should look something like this. Alright. So for this next hairstyle is going to be a half up, so the majority the hair cell is going to be in the back. So I'm going to start off on one side and I'm going to braid a chunky, Dutch braid. So I'm going to take a chunk of hair about this big and, if you're, wearing hair extensions like I am, you just want to make sure that you keep pull the clips covered in the back and you want to braid the braid towards the back of your Head that way, it lays flat against your head. So it's a braided Dutch braid, I'm just going to separate this section into three strands and then I'm going to cross the side strand under the middle thigh strand under the middle. So I strand under the middle I'm going to continue to do this until I can't bring it any more. I'M going to stop about here and secure the end of the braid with an elastic, and you know what I'm going to do now. I don't even know if I have to repeat it: I'm going to pull out on the sides of the braid. Now that I have my chunky, braid, I'm going to bring it to the back and on this side, I'm going to create a messy twisted French braid. So I'm going to take a small section of hair twist it towards the back of my head and away from my face and then I'm going to incorporate another section of hair. Do the same thing and I'm going to keep incorporating here until about here slightly past. My ear and I'm going to gently pull on this twist to loosen it up. Next, I'm going to gather the twist with a braid. So now that I have my twist and my braids together, I'm also going to pick up a section of hair from the back and incorporate it into this, and we don't need a hair elastic anymore. So I'm going to remove it, tie this hair into a ponytail. So that it's secure I'm going to loosen this hair at the top and then take a another elastic and tie it into a messy bun. Once I have my messy bun and taking a another section of hair from the bottom, or underneath the bun and in taking a pretty chunky section of hair and I'm going to wrap it around the top of the bun like this a couple times and then secure It to the back of my head with a couple of bobby pins and then what I like to do is take as my cameraphone and I like to put it in selfie mode and just take a picture of the back of my head. So I can see if I like it or not, so I'm pretty happy with it. I like the messy look of it. So that's how I usually check the back of my hairstyles. If I can't see it in the front, the next hairstyle is going to be another half up style. So what I'm going to do is gather my hair around my crown area and I'm going to gather it in the back and create a very messy bun. So to do that, I'm going to take this hair and I'm going to twist it into the messy bun like this, and then I'm just pinning it to the back of my head with a bunch of bobby pins and then I'm going to loosen up the bond With my fingers and I'm going to pick up a section of hair right about here, one is two inches in thickness and then I'm going to braid this section into a loose braid and do any Brady want for this. I'M just going to do a regular braid and the key is to make it loose. I'M going to tie it off right about here before so I'm going to loosen up the braid even more. By pulling out the side sections of this, you should have something that looks like this and I'm going to create the same braid on the other side and when you're done, you should have something that looks like this. This next hairstyle is super easy and actually doesn't involve any braiding whatsoever. All I'm doing is gathering all of my hairs back and I just left out some face framing pieces in the front and I'm taking two sections of hair from either side on my face and I'm tying them together with a small hair elastic once I've done, I'm Taking the ponytail looping it over and under and then hiding it up a little bit and then pulling out on the twist to loosen it up. Next, I'm going to take a another section of hair from either side, and I find that this type of hair cell works better with sections of hair that are about an inch to an inch and a half in thickness. And I'm going to take these sections together and again, I'm going to tie them together with an elastic, but this time I'm going to tie it in together a little bit off-center. So this one I'm going to tie together on my left side and then I'm going to do the same technique, I'm going to take the ponytail, lose it over and under and then pull out on these sides of the twist to loosen them out. I'M going to do the same thing now on the other side, but this time time them together, off-center to the right and again, I'm looping the ponytail over and under and pulling out on the twist to loosen the bottom and pulling on the ponytail just to tighten It all up again, and basically I'm just going to keep repeating these steps until I get all the way to the end of the braid so the first twist it was the only one that I twisted in the center and all the other twists. I'M going to be alternating from left to right left to right, so I'm going to stop right about here and when you're done, your beautiful twisted braid should look something like this. Okay, so remember those four one, sequest that I set aside in the very beginning, I'm going to show you how I apply these to create a beautiful extra long, boho braid. So what I'm doing now is removing the top four wax that I clipped into my hair, because I want my hair to not be a speck. Okay, the technique that I'm going to show you using goes for one clip weft, it's better. If my hair is thinner now that I got rid of some of the thickness in my hair, I'm gathering my hair to one side and then I'm going to start braiding my hair into a regular three strand, braid, alright and now into this strand. I'M going to take one of the one clip weft and clip it in to the back of the strand. You kind of just want to make circular motions with it just so it gets a good grip on the hair and then close it shut and I'm going to braid it as normal and then repeat the same thing on the next strand and don't worry if your Clips are going to be showing at this point once we're done braiding we're going to go back in and fix everything. So it looks nice and cohesive and all the clips are hidden. I'M going to braid a couple inches down regularly and you see why I removed those four wets. You can already see the difference in thickness between the extensions that I have clipped in normally and extensions that I just flipped in now. I'M going to get rid of this scrag leanness right now by clipping in the remaining two F. So I'm going to clip in the next one clip left into this section right here and then the last one into here and then I'm going to continue braiding a regular three strand braid and as you're going to see the ends will get much thinner towards the End but I'm going to pull apart the bottom of the braid more than the rest, the braid that way it balances out, and once you get to the ends of the braid that don't have as much thickness as the top. You want to braid it a little bit looser that way it would be easier to pull apart and you'll be able to mimic the volume, the bottom that you have at the top. So, instead of tying the end of the braid, I'm going to just hold it down with my fingers and then I'm going to pull out on these sides of the braid, and once you get to the top part where the hair is thicker, you don't want to Pull it out as much because you want it to match the thickness that you have at the end. So I'm just going to pull this one out a little bit and do most of the pulling apart or at the end, and that way the braid is going to look a lot more proportional and a lot more natural, alright, so that already looks way better. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take in elastic and tie off the end of the braid, but because I have this long piece of hair sticking out I'm going to loop it on the very last high and then take a small section of Hair from this loop and wrap it around the hair elastic to cover it up and then with the bobby pin, I'm just going to secure it to the back of the braid and when you're done you're going to have this crazy long, Rapunzel looking braid. That goes even past your bellybutton, I'm pretty tall, I'm 5 foot 9. So if this goes past my belly button and you're shorter than me, this will probably hit your hip. I knew this was such a cool option, especially if you have hair extensions is something that you can definitely play around with and experiment with, and it just gives you so much more links, and you can even see that I have any clip in hair, extensions and They'Re all hidden in the back, so if you do have any clip in hair extensions, you kind of kind of see like I can kind of see that one right now all you want to do is just unclip it and then find a spot in the back. Where you can't see it and then reclip it in that area and now it's completely gone and you can't see it and your braid and look amazeballs and if you want you can wear it as a necklace. The options are really endless. Ok guys so that wraps up today's video, I really hope that you enjoyed these amazing winter boho braids and we'll try them out yourself. I've now become that braided hair girl, and i couldn't have done it without you inspiration. now i tell all the girls in my school "no hair is too short to have fun braiding it!" in this tutorial, i liked the twisted braid best, (kinda looks like a fishtail gone wild which is super cute!) but i put it to the side instead, but thats my personal preference. keep doing what you do!! ❤
