Hi guys welcome to another Vikings tutorial on my Instagram this summer. I posted a lot of pictures of hairstyles I replicated from Vikings and on that account people voted for which one they would like to see most trim intuited fart and the one that one was this beauty right here that liquor with a war in season three, when She'S visiting King experts now, just by itself, it's a pretty simple style: it's a big french braid on top with two side, french braid funding into it. But it's an interesting tutorial to do because well in the show it was done with a lot of teasing and there's a lot of other similar you toriel on youtube gum, plaza, teasing, i'm going to show you a trick that I really enjoy forgetting a sort of Volume without teasing your hair at all, so keep watching to learn how to do lather. This big faux, hawk French braid for this volumizing trick you're going to need special materials. Specifically I'm talking about one of these puppies. It'S a cheap foam doughnut that you can find at pretty much any beauty store and many clothing stores as well, get one that approximates your hair, color and then cut one side with scissors that it becomes a foam cylinder you'll also need several bobby pins. Thirdly, it helps to have some clip-on hair extensions to cover the foam tube, especially if the foam doesn't perfectly match your hair extensions. I'M using right now are from a bee hair and if you think you like these, you can check out my review video and use my 10 % discount code on their website, which I've got links for in the description bar below. If you're going to use hair extensions, clip them onto the foam tube on three sides, I'm trying to cover as much of the brown as possible. So I'm clipping two single weft extensions at the end of the tube on opposite sides and then clipping 1/3 onto the flat face of the tube. So the hair can drape over the front and along the top. The fourth side, which should be the inside of the arc, is left bare. So we can pin this to the head later now for the actual hairstyle you'll first need to draw two parts along the top of your head start them at each corner of your forehead and end them at the lower corner of your back. Hair line use a sectioning tool of some sort, even just the Kirke of a bobby pin to make a nice straight line. This will make three sections of hair with two on the side and a larger one running over the top and down the back of your head tie one side section with a hair tie for now, while you braid the other, I also recommend tying the top section Of hair away from the side section, you're braiding, so that none of the hair gets picked up accidentally put the side French braid. You want the braid to curve down around your ear, like the part does when viewed from the side start the braid by picking up a thin column of hair between your part in your ear along your side, hairline and split it into three strands now weave the Topmost strand, over the middle one, so the strands switch places then do the same for the lower strand, weaving over the middles that it becomes the new middle strand. That'S the basic pattern for a three strand: braid French braiding makes it a little more complicated because now, when you're about to weave the top strand over again, you should first add a little bit of free hanging hair to that strand before you weave it over lagertha Braid has fine detailing so make sure you pick up a very small bit from right next to the braid, to add in then add in some more hair from down near your ear to the lower strand before you leave it over the middle keep braiding in this Pattern along the whole side section of hair to make the braid arc pick up hair from the nearby hair lines, either along the part or near your ear, to add into the braid rather than just picking up from anywhere and try to keep the braid centered in The section when you've added in all the free hanging hair finish the braid in a normal three-strand pattern out to the ends and tie with a small elastic to hold the braid secure, french-braid the other side section as well. Remember you want a very detailed braid. So start with small strands and add an only little bit of hair at a time. Let'S work on the big middle braid now using a sectioning tool again part your hair down the center of your head from forehead to neck, get out your phone tube and position. It on top of this part, so that the front of the foam tube is an inch or two back from your front. Hairline, stick bobby pins in underneath the foam tubes, so that you hook both some foam and some hair from your scalp. This will keep it secured to your head. If the tube extends past, your back hairline cut the foams that the entire thing is within your hair, when that's all in place grab the hair. That starts in front of where you pinned your thumb, tube brush that hair forward and then drape it up and over the front of the foam. Roll split, the hair into three strands and start French braiding now right over the top of the foam roll and add. In hair that comes out from under the sides of the tube, this covers the foam so that it can give support and height to the braid from underneath, but is invisible. So it just looks like your own. Hairs is massively thick. This trick is actually nothing new for centuries. Women would make these hair bumps called hair wraps to give support to large, fashionable hairstyles. It was more work for them, though, because they had to gather up their own hair that came out on a brush and Bunch all that up to form the hair wrap that would take a while. Luckily, we live in the modern era where you can buy a cheapy hair donut for a dollar and do this hairstyle right away. But there you go a little bit of historical hair, styling info, for you keep making your French braid all the way down. The back of your head, when you get to the center of the back of your head, also pick up the tails of the first two french braids. You did and incorporate them into the French braid, like you would with free hanging here. If your foam hara ends, don't worry because your french braid is now thick enough in its own right that it won't be completely flat back there when you have no more hair to braid in, do a couple more stitches of a regular three strand braid over the Side of your shoulder and then pick out the tails from your side, french braids bunch up the rest of your hair. So you now have three strands where two are smaller and braided and one is thick and unweighted braid. Normally, with these as your three strands to make an uneven type braid when you get to the ends of these braids tie them together behind the braid with a clear elastic and then tuck the tight ends and amongst the hair from the large section. In order to hide it and that completes slather, those French fauxhawk hairstyle, thanks to the hair rat, you've got tons of volume with none of the hair damaged, and if this height is too much for you or you want to go even bigger, you can also change How much volume you want by getting very small foam Donuts and sewing these two together or by a large thick one and cutting off some excess length? It'S all up to your own tastes. I hope you liked this tutorial and be sure to come by my channel again sometime for more Vikings here.

xRubySky: This is so awesome! I always wish I had long hair when I watch any of your videos. Sadly it's too short for any sort of braiding :-(

Polly Sue: Excellent channel! I love how you get right to it. I don't have time for a lot of excess chatting. Looking forward to watching all your tutes! Shoulder length styles appreciated. I cut my hair and got layers - grrrr -- now in the growout phase.

Amanda's Channel: I love this look it's so beautiful and amazing!

Daniela Sailer: I just discovered your Channel today and I can´t stop watching :) If I ever were to start a youtube channel on my own, that is what I would have done :) You´re doing an amazing job

Lisa Maria Riedel: YES! I searched for this tutorial for months! Great! :)

Galileo's Middle Finger: You have beautiful hair and I love the styles you're making, I want to try these so bad but my hair is much denser than yours and I often get totally overwhelmed trying to tame it, it's also notoriously bad at staying in place, it can't hold a curl, I've used half a can of hairspray on my curls before and they've still dropped after 20 minutes, it also gets greasy real fast at the scalp if I handle it too much so I don't know how well this would turn out, I don't give up on it though because these styles are so cool, I'll keep trying!

Aria Montgomery: I'm really close to start watching this show all because of you! you're very talented and pleasing to watch, you seem really nice, I had never been interested in hair turorials until I found your channel, you're seriously amazing

L Waldorf: Love your channel, you are great at what you are doing <3

Melissa Rascon: so awesome!! you got skills. love the extensions attached to the tube

Jacob Allred: Thank you for showing how to volumise the braid without ing it.

Celia Maldonado: My favorite so far! ok no, i love almost all your videos haha almost 'cause i have thick shoulder length hair and i can't pull all of them out, but almost. Kathleen Gallafraigh: Your choice of lighting looks very good for your skin and hair. Great job on filming technique.

Adriana M: I will be doing this as soon as my hair the right length, So excited, this way is pretty great

Azure Kate: You make this look so easy. I can do the two little side braids but I'm having a really hard time with the big top one. Sigh.

suska11: I finally found someone who's tutorials I can actually follow. Most other's tutorials include super processed hair and lots of products. You use your natural hair without too many extras, exactly what I was looking for. I don't want products and heat etc into my hair.

Shaelynn Moon: The cut hair doughnut used with clip in extensions to create volume without teasing is genius! It's going to make so many styles look so much better and be so much easier for me to do. I can't wait to try this great hair hack! Thanks so much for sharing it.

Geraldine Hughes: That's brilliant! I'm going to give that a go on my day off.

SimplySarah Here: Wow, you are super pretty, your hair is so shiny and gorgeous, and this look is flawless! I subscribed!

Kailynne McFerran: We have almost the exact same color of hair, same length too! Mine is troublesomely thick but I manage lol. I love your videos because they are perfect for me to copy since we have similar hair!

cheesebreads: your videos get better and better every time! :) I can't help but wonder if you find that regular braiding thins/breaks your hair? and if so do you have any tips on preventing this? totally understand if you don't have the time to go into detail! I feel like I've been damaging my hair this way but I don't want to stop braiding it!

calichef1962: Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I have been in awe of the hairstyles on Vikings since the first episode. Thank you for demystifying the styles a little for me. I knew they had to be using some sort of hair enhancements. I'm just sad that my hair has thinned so much as I've gotten older. I wouldn't have enough hair to make this style work, not even if I had the "rat" to work with. I could maybe do a regular French braid around a "rat," but I don't have thick enough hair to make the three French braids required for this style.

Yaiyasmin: This turned out great!

Danielle Wright: My husband's cousin did this style for me at our wedding, and it turned out amazing! I have very tick hair, so I didn't need to use the extensions though :) here is how it turned out: https://www.instagram.com/p/BOB8ZyFjcjQ/ I love all your tutorials! keep up the great work!

Jessica Carlson: love this one!

Gabriela Marramaque: This is so cool! I think I'll get a hair donut just for this!

LoiseLV: I looove your tutorials! I watch all of this! And... I trust in you, girl. I need to ask you... Can you make this braid with your long hair? In all the web is the only tutorial... I want to watch one of you. A braid making a bob! Pleaseeee! Love you! Trenza haciendo una melena - pedido Caro Romero: http://youtu.be/AGII-PCfJLg

Bonafidevixen10032: I fking love Lagertha's hair! so glad I found your videos. I may try jt on my daughters. I chopped my hair! heheheh

Kady Chapman: These types of looks are so cool, but I have to flat-iron my hair to do even the most basic braid, but then I lose the natural volume of my hair. It's a conundrum I must say! My hands may just be clumsy though!

Charlea: Wow, I would never manage this on myself :(

Isabela C: I love this!!!

KateandBree: This is awesome. I definitely have to try this on a non-horseback riding day. This...this will not fit under my helmet!

Nananah86: Great job!

Shallan Davar, Painter of Souls: when I first looked at the video I was like "No way her hair is that thick." thanks for talking about the foam tube!

sosotess: I usually don't style my hair much, I'm a huge klutz, can't even do french braids (ironically, I'm french), yet I've watched a few of your videos and I happen to find them super addictive! Maybe it's your voice, calmly explaining how to handle hair, or the fun and geeky themes you choose... Anyway, congrats on gaining a new suscriber! Also, my brother is getting married next summer, I might try to suggest one of these hairstyles to the hairdresser...^^

Madeline Smith: You are obviously talented at braiding but you are even more talented at teaching, seriously thank you for clear, concise, easy to understand instructions! I almost always feel like someone omitted a step in their tutorials but not on yours, really well done.

dabsquat: Oh, can my hair please grow a bit faster? I really want to try this hairstyle <3 Are you going to make tutorials on the other braids you posted on instagram as well?

Carlos Valencia: I know I’m a bit late but I love your channel ! I just cannot get the hang of those French braids ! I don’t know why my head just doesn’t understand!

liz: Wow... Just wow. I'm amazed!

Ruso Janjalashvili: Gosh my hair is so thick that extensions need it, not the other way roundbut every time I try sth new, what I leave is just a huge mess. Just adore your videos though!

Gabriela Teresa: I love you so much thank you for theses amazing braids bt i love vikings

LimeGreenNewb: Love the donut hack. Thanks!

Valeria S: You are wonderful! :)

Sophie Jayne Lee: My hair just got cut, and while its still long enough, I have a fringe in front of my ears again. Ugh I love this hair style too much. I will just have to adapt.

hospitalcakewalk: Thankfully my hair is thick so height isn't a problem. Also, shedding and the ability to make hair rats is also not a problem for me XD

Anunium: I've learned that in order to do a bunch of braided looks I reeeaallly need to grow my bangs out lol

Elísabet B: can you do hair tutorials of judith in the vikings :)?

Makeup Boss: I’ve got thick, frizzy hair. This is probably because of my Viking ancestry. I could pull this off, for volume though I need volume mousse.

AP: cool! thanks!

Shauna McDonagh: Could I use a dutch braid in place of the bouffant and french braid

mechatamaro: Well now I want to braid my hair..guess I'll have to grow it out now.

Clara Headstrong: this is like Monroes hair in the 100 Its great becuade i was wondering how to do Monroes and know i know

The Woof Pack: Grrr if only I could get the hang of French braiding my own hair...

Kira Fred: beautiful

Carollee ballenger: this is so cool but I can nearly braid my hair in a normal braid

Red ; P: I LOVE IT!!

Alex Maratea: If you don't have access to a foam hair donut couldn't you also do a Dutch braid in a smaller section starting from the crown of the head and do a French braid overtop of that?

Robin Gillies: do you have any videos or advice about how to make a hair piece out of your own loose hairs collected while brushing? an entire handful of my hair comes out every time I wash or brush it, and I now have an Ziploc bag full of hair. Melissa Rascon: you got skills!!
