He Wanted To Lose The Long Curly Hairstyle And Go Short

Daniel wanted to lose his long curly hairstyle (over 7 months growth) and go for a shorter and easier to manage haircut for university. His only request was he didn't want a skin fade. Dan gave him a classic clipper over comb haircut with enough length to brush back on top for an easy to style haircut.

#MensHaircut #Haircut #CurlyHair

Hi guys welcome back to the regal gentleman youtube channel the hunter collective. Today, we've got daniel in the chair. How are you mate you're good, good, good? I'M very well made thank you. So what are we doing? Um we've got a fine header here by the way. Thank you. I'Ve got uh starting union two days. Okay um, i haven't had a haircut in about seven months right and it's just it goes so frizzy and crazy. So, just for uni something simple, i'm thinking fairly short on the sides and back slightly longer on top, but nothing too long, just easy low maintenance, you're the man. So let you have your very vague, very vague thing. I'Ve got to go with okay. What'S your idea of low maintenance um, what style is in your head when you think of low maintenance? Well, so without for my hand as i put loads of product in it, yeah enjoy it perfectly or just go so frizzy. Okay, no worries: okay, seven months growth. Why was it just purely locked down or were you trying to grow it out over lockdown? I was just like. I may as well see what it's like yeah um and then i was scared and then all my local barbershops aren't great okay. So i was like wait for a good haircut. No worries no worries, but now it's just too much. Okay, it's getting too much. Okay! No worries, so your hair is, is it quite kind of carry when it's short as well? Um yeah? It is yeah, um yeah, usually quite clearly one even from like short lengths. It goes. It seems to want to go back very easily. You try and force it forward this kind of kinks out, so i think, if you're doing something low maintenance, why don't we just cut it? So it's shorter for you just kind of run your fingers through it yeah and that's it run your fingers through it. Let it fall yeah and then that's it done. Do i mean, but so it's all balanced through the sides. It'S not like undercut, there's no disconnection just so it's got a uniform top, so it just falls nice and easy for you and then obviously graduate it into a shorter size. Yeah sounds good yeah cool. How short on the back and sides would you like to go? Have you got a particular length or do you want to leave it to me or yeah i'll? Probably i wouldn't i'm really. I don't think a skin fades to me. No, i don't know what i think would be quite nice, just freehand, clipper yeah, the back and sides would be really good more than putting a guard on a grade on, i think just clipping the back inside freehand. That allows me to pick the shape it allows me to kind of graduate and taper where i need to and where i want to as well. So if i've got complete free rein with this, i may as well be spoken totally to you. Okay, all right! More than just doing, like a four back in size short on top okay cool, all right, yeah right, what we'll do we'll give it a wash and a condition and then we'll get started all right, all right guys, so i've just um shampooed and conditioned daniel's hair. Now again, we're taking this all off right. I do think it's a real shame, but i get where daniel's coming from. Okay he's grown it for a long time. It'S getting a bit too much so he's going to uni, i'm pretty sure you grow ours again. If you're going to uni you'll just end up growing out again right, so we might see him again in seven months. You never know so what i'm gon na do i'm gon na start off with a horseshoe section. Okay, now again, if you're watching the videos before this is to isolate great word at the moment in it, isolate is to separate the back and sides to the top. Okay, so i'm gon na with that open up, i'm actually gon na cut into that little bit of the fringe there, which i actually think it'll benefit him doing that, because that looks like it'll be a bit of a problem area for him. That'S the horseshoe's done all the way around this crown. Is there as well just dropped it down a little bit went all the way around. So it's just on the round of daniel's head, i'm going to use clip over comb and i'm going to use my oster 97. So now we're going to slide the comb in from the bottom and pull it out and cross them again, we're not going to skin. So i'm doing this to probably about number six number: seven, i'm working up and pull out as you get to the top knuckle again purely bulk removal follow the guide from the right hand, side, pull it up and out get the top take it across from the Guy from the right hand, side looking up and off the head, make it the oh working off into that length. We just cut we'll remove. I'Ve got my guide to where to moving all that length using that guide, feeding the hair into the clipper through the cone. Now that is bolt removal on that signal. For four minutes, i took all the length of the backing sides. That is why this trimmer and that technique is awesome. Now again, i used to work in a barber shop which was walking 20 minute appointments. This used to help so much especially when you guessed it again: students going back to uni grown out here, long hair. This is ideal. That'S all dried off! Now, i'm just going to use the same clippers comb to really start to refine the backing side. So really bespoke this to daniel okay. She doesn't want to go skin fade again. That'S fine, but i still want to tape up the edges, nice and tight and give them nice really nice professional finish that really low maintenance top as well. So you just start to taper in through here again throw up into that front there, which is going to be slightly annoying for us imagine just taking that a bit shorter and starting at the top working down this time. So we work from the bottom up now. Working from the top down and just nice classic clipper over comb into the bottom, there so again, just going to probably maybe like on a cliff or probably a three all right and on the very bottom, i'm just using my eye judgments and also i'm looking to Shape the face as well through the corner here, i'm looking a little bit tighter towards the ears, we'll keep a little bit of length over here just so we can connect the top in to the sides. Could you stop straight away daniel? What'S that then, looking like to you on the side, it's all right, yeah, so i'll check with you now, so that when we continue around we're getting the right length we're down to start again, so is that looking okay, yeah, obviously we'll tape it a bit tighter Through here and stuff, smaller sections, this time, because we'll find them and refine into a nice taper around the bottom, it into a nice taper on the neck, send that coil around i'm working down the taper so the same thing again, working all the way down. Okay, it looks really nice again we're not looking for anything in your face, we're just looking for a nice classic low maintenance airport nathaniel can live with for as long as he wants again. Imagine like he said. His local area is not too fussed on his barbers. There but also he's moving to bristol, so he might not find a barber in bristol. Neither i can recommend you a good one, but if you don't decide to get a haircut in bristol, then obviously you can grow this out until he's back home. Now again, i'm not going to cut into the hairline too much. I just wanted to just sharpen and strengthen again low maintenance, not very perfectly too detailed, too hard way, something to grow out so again, because i'm not cut into it just into the finer hairs around the hairline. It just keeps it looking nice and clean a little bit longer. You just switch to a smaller comb just so i can suppose the hair out a bit more just strengthen that up a little bit. There'S the serpent now just working through a smaller cone, same thing before it's working, it's a bit of a sharper taper down the bottom, so i'm thinking just something that he can run his hands through and brush it back. I think that's the best way to do it all right. So what we'll do is i'm going to work across the side of the head, i'm going to work horizontally into the top okay, even working into this fringe? Okay, working down to my clip away, just pulling it out straight out. This guide come perfectly straight and just cross check we're going back over it. Would you bring this back that will sit really nicely for this all the way into the top okay. What does it do? Connect it for me, remove length, and all i have left at the top to do. Is this section through here, okay, but we're starting to t we'll start to cut this, so it falls really nicely back pull the finger across i'm over directing it from the front. So we'll maintain the lens it'll end up being like a v down here and all we do is lift it up, put the length we want, but just because the way it falls, his fringe has no problem. Moving around that little curl and bend in there that'll brush back very easily, and i'm just taking away these corners for them, because i can see there'll be a problem area for them as well. Now we'll do it past the middle of the head? Okay, so we're doing it just off center to the left-hand side. Now the reason i'm doing that is, if i did it down the center and i went to a middle part, it would encourage a middle parting. So i'm doing it just past the center and i'll do the same on the other side so that when he wears it back, it doesn't fall in the middle part. Okay, we're cutting it past, either side of the center. My card, underneath i'm just working to that section underneath i'm not elevating the hair, i'm just literally pulling it straight down, so you can see it comes out straight here. The high up the head. It starts to drop down that just maintains a bit more length through the top. You can see i'm pulling that fringe away, so i'm over directing it in the back. That'S all fallen nicely for him, okay, repeat, on the other side, down into that clipper section. So that's the sectional pull it down into underneath now we set just after every section: that's fallen back nicely. It'S not sitting very nicely back that one section past the center now and you can see that guy just coming through there. Now you see, the guide is up on my finger and there we go. You see that guides and level there pull it back from the front to here. We'Ve got a little bit in the middle, you know to match up the corners adjustable removal. So the last little bit i'm gon na, do now, like i said, a little point in the middle here that will remove. So this is up to me how short i go now and again, i want to make this low maintenance, so i want to think about that much off okay club cutter straight through there's. My guide got guides either side as well with a vertical section across, and there will be my little point and then off work around the back of the head pass section. So here like that, so i'm just going to work with the razor now just to force. This hair to come back a bit more for them just to break it up a little bit of low maintenance texture for them as well. You can go with the way the hair wants to fall. Naturally, as you can see how easy this comes back, that's why i chose to go this way. I just knew it'd fall really really easily back and again, i'm looking for low maintenance for daniel i'm not looking to try and create some style that you have to wear product in every single day. You can literally even wear anything in this hair and it'll work. Really well, i'm just using that just to make the corners work and where to remove some thickness, and some bulk she's got very thick here. It'S working from back to front working that razor over now, with the shape of the razor. It'S got gaps coming through here. So you're not just taking slices and chunk shots. Okay, a really good way of thinning the hair out without removing loads of length, but also force in that direction as well, and i think that is it mate how's it look. You happy with that. Yeah. Can you imagine yourself in the morning just when your fingers through here and walk out the door yeah exactly that's it exactly. Would you mind just taking your mask off for me a second as well just want to see the the facial and i've got that, so you can see keeping that squareness in there. What we've done is we've leaned the face off as well yeah. It looks nice and smart as well it's into the camera as well. You see that a little bit of height at the front there, it's really really giving that really nice angle to the face, shape as well i'll, just dry it off just very loosely so that if you are going out right say it's raining and your hair is Soaking wet, if you want to just dry it off a little bit right, hair dryer on nozzle on, and this is how easy it is to do so. Imagine you just got the shower tire: dried your hair, not even going to put anything on it. Okay, hairdryer nozzle facing you like this okay hold up high speed, high heat fingers, shake the hair. Dryer come right like this, and that's your hair done. Okay and all you can do if you want to it's, just that it's all connected either side. I'Ve cut that you've got sort of a nice wavy texture in there and with the razor through just to break that wave up a little bit. You'Ve still got a little element of style in there without having to actually apply product, or anything like that at all, and all you need to do in the morning again is just run your fingers through and that's it now, i'm going to show you the back And sides it's just a nice natural taper into the neck. This is just a nice blend. No scalp exposure. Nothing like that. Just a very classic uniform haircut that works for every single person and also the easiest style to have with our product as well. Happy yeah! That'S great thanks man. Thank you very much. So to recap what we did was um daniel came in and he had an absolute belt ahead of hair and on any other occasion, either say keep it. But obviously you know daniel's situation is we have to take this into account. Daniel'S situation he's going to university in bristol, so obviously not in your home city doesn't know any barbers. There probably might not know where to get a haircut. Um might not know that i'm. I or someone you know can recommend you a good place, so he just wants to go for a short, easy low maintenance circle that he can just style even without prototyping his hair, very simple barbarian haircut. Happy yeah awesome. Thank you very much. You

MLP Shawn: As someone who had long hair and cut it short, I bet this dude was regretting it

cc: holy shiz he actually does look like he's about to cry

Ksanaks: i bet he cried at home

Let'sTalkAboutFeelings: wtf.. he had such a nice contrast with his hair long, people not tired of these short haircuts? everyone looks the same

Wankatizer: Customer: I don’t know what I want? Dan: Yes.

Tam Tam: Went in a man, came out a boy...

lazomazow: I love your videos very much. They're enjoyable for me to watch, even as someone who has never cut anyone's hair, but I still like learning how to do it. Oh, and you seem like a nice chap. :)

DannyPhantom: Just by the way dan carry’s himself I know he’s got a hog on him.

Tam Tam: As Anakin had once lamented, "What have I done!?"

Jake Millman: client- " i really wanna just cut it all off" dan- 'AHHHH NOOOO keep the length!"

Pezz: Ha hah ..the look of regret on his face at the end is priceless!

UnbendingNose: Refreshing to not see another skin fade

Shmuel Richey: Didn’t realize he was ganna go that short, based on how u explained at the beginning

Alverony Flores: Thanks for this awesome tutorial I'm a barber student looking for some tips on how to cut curly hair on top and sides . Barely 500 hours in school here in CA once again thanks for your hard work you put out to inspire us students .

Róger da Rosa Möller: I really respect your work and enjoy your videos, but this was a bad haircut in my opinion. Don’t take this the wrong way, it happens with everyone. You are awesome!

Lucas F.: Absolutely love those clean and straight hair sections where you separate the side hair from the top

Rolando Rimarim: I can imagine that it'll grow with better silhouette. Intelligent cutting from Dan.

Ciclopea2: Looks awesome, he asked for a shorter style but i bet once it grows he'll keep a longer style, thanks to this haircut, it's like a nice foundation, so to speak.

KnifedByAKangaroo: i just got my hair cut and i already wanna come to this place , just for how nice of a guy he is and so understanding of the customers needs., also does a brilliant job

ya Boy Jonez: So nice to see a taper. Too many skin fades on other channels and to me they require less time/skill. With a taper you actually have to know a thing or two about hair and how it falls naturally. Great cut!

ptb2008: "all my local barbers aren't great" LOL I can relate to that.

jcrcmiuh: Growing my hair out just for Regal.

02Wrxfan: I literally had the same head of hair curls and all and I’m so sad I got rid of it. Time to start over

Krishnan Sasikumar: Ah.... This is a better version of the hair I have when long. I've not found anyone, even at the most expensive salons, who can handle curly hair. I end up with a military cut and an assurance "Hair will grow back" everytime . He looks unhappy, the same look I have after a haircut gone wrong

Alan Fleming: I am watching this about 6 months after this vid was uploaded and I can't stop thinking how awesome his hair would be now if he hadn't cut it

Leonardo Carrillo: Love the Shear technique used, definitely going to try it

omár: he looked so much better with long hair , almost like a model :/ now he just looks like an average joe

Propa Nawty: 15:03 when you regret cutting your long hair off / it was at this moment he knew he fucked up lol

Sun Moon: This will be sick when it grows out a lil. well thought out

yaz: Still growing my hair out until dan invites me to be in one of his videos

Keith Gamble: The sound of those scissors is so satisfying

juan karlo blasini: My God brother they just killed your hair haha it can't be a lot of people die for having hair like this hahaha I'm surprised

ThatSickFusion: This man is the best at convincing people not to cut all their hair lol

AugustLord: Watching hairs getting cut is a therapy when it's Regal

martin chivers: Forgive me if it's already been asked. But what type of mask are you wearing? Looks very comfortable. Cheers

zach16: Always helps to have thick hair and to already look good, haha

Nadav Perez: Id love to see how to cut and style long curly hair

Cyn Blends: Awesome video! I love utilizing the clipper over comb method!

S: Regal can you please make a compilation video of loads of scissor cuts? It's super relaxing asmr... plus it could go viral and benefit your channel greatly

Damien Blackthorne: Dan, you make this $@#! pandemic winter a tad better, thanks. You've got the skills. ✌

FH SCH: You make it look easy--my husband has not gone to a barber in 9 months and has very curly hair and a very full beard. I am scared to try, but may just, this video is really good because the fellow's hair is a lot like my husband's!

Todd Hårig: Completely unrelated but i really want to see a Gordon Ramsay barber show.

Iman Dainel: The sound of the shear is very satisfying . That cut was nice

Blayne: Nice cut. The style seemed a bit old for someone so young. But it suits his situation.

Gwen Welch: This young man looks so handsome with this new cut. He looks great!

tommyfilms: bro you violated him so hard oh my god

kxng_dav11dtha2nd_: with hair that good, he should've looked into just getting it tidied and then learned about variants of long hairstyles - one of those being wearing a beanie, especially in Bristol where you ain't really gonna be having your hair out much in the winter and early spring!

Aishik: I can see the " i'm doomed" feel on his face.

Wavy Dane: how old is dan? he has a great hairline!

A Saha: oh my god.. he probaly grew it all back lmao

Puzzle Magnet: He looks good either way, he Has a really nice hair, both styles really look good on him

S: 13:05 this sound is so relaxing

Bon Bon: Everyone is saying that he probably regrets it and stuff but I had hair to my waste(I’m a female so it could be different btw) and cut it short and absolutely love it! Guess it’s a guy thing.

Pluto: 17:11 it looked so great before. Sad he cut it off

Giulio: Worst decision of his life

Ozzie ulloa: Im going to visit ingland just to get a hair cut from him and put it in my barbershop when i have it.

Ala Lulu: my hair is just like in the beginning, sometimes it is difficult with it, but I still love it)

Nabil Ben: we want more curly hair cuts there ins t a lot of theme on YOUTUBE

Lynn Monkres: Such a great cut! Just perfect and maintains the integrity of the curls! Handsome guy!

Petter: jealous of his hairline!!!

Nanki: 17:12 LMAOAA he definitely regretted it

Mgd Mubark: Oh my God ... a big transformation .. this is a delicate and beautiful job .. I hope one day I will become like you

Szmok Big: 15:04 someone's just farted? guy had a smug smile there, I think he's the one responsible for that

Queen South: To be totally honest I liked his hair better before he had it cut!

Ebi Chuuu: I love his curls

Rise: Before: I'm gonna look much better after this. After: i should've stayed at home.

don keyballs: I had a buzz cut 4 years ago and I never cut it since , been growing my hair out for 4 years now

priyank thakur: 14:54 he absolutely hates it.

2eleven48: He's going to university, where of course all the guys are clean-cut and dapper and totally conform. I bet his mum had a say in this.

Jose Meneses: Have you ever knicked your fingers by accident doing scissor work removing bulk?

Michelle Colombo: He went from looking mid 20's to looking 16...just like that

Ethan Wolff: The editor on these videos goes crazy

Rich Gebbia: Your videos are so satisfying. Is there a US version of you? lmao

Aidan Heynes: The ASMR kicks in just after 9:20

Erika Vanessa Espinosa F: Dan, all love to you, but PLEASE stop asking the clients to remove the mask, it beats the purpose of wearing one. It's not like we know when and where the virus is present and therefore can remove it for a little while.

Pam Spencer: Oh. his curls. Hope he grows it out more.

omfgSHORYUKEN: he should've either styled it long and curly like kit harrington or got a classic skin fade with longer hair on top like all the other lads get

Emily Tolman: I wish we could see the people's faces to see if the hairstyle actually fits them

Alexandra Abraham: I would kill to have a barber like this, cut my hair. And I'm female. I suit a good, short, clip cut, but women's hairdressers tend to be almost too reticent and scared to go the full crop. I live WAAAY out of London - East Midlands - and most barbers I have asked, refuse to cut women's hair! Sexist or what? I'm a straight, ordinary, 64-year-old female, with a funky attitude and nowhere to frame it.

radek wegorowski: this dude on back ground was so lucky have live show from Dan

Elninoo: I have the same exact hair and Id get why you want to cut it as its just easier to deal with. On the other hand you just look like everybody else. This guy went from cool individual to standard kid at football training who stinks of axe. Even Dan didnt want to cut it lol.

Greven: I have exacly the same hair type as this guy. Any reccomended little bit longer haircuts besides this one. I’ve had the long one but its somhard to maintain

Ozzie ulloa: He walked out of their a diffrent person..

Adrian Sanchez III: what brand and model clippers do you recommend ?

Damien Naidoo: Whenever I watch your videos I am constantly reminded of Jamie Carragher

Tavian Wilkinson: I wish I lived near you cause I live in the North East and every time you go into a barber shop and ask to keep the sides long and the top you come out with a skin fade cause they don't listen

John Smith: I liked the wet look, right after it was washed...‍♂️

Sombong Amat: Love from indonesia. Aku suka bunyi gunting yg kamu gunakan itu sangat relax

Isaac Ruiz sanchez: The Gordon Ramsey of hair cuts

Gwenda King: Omg. my hubby has similar hair but bit shorter..I know for a fact he wouldn't b happy with such a boring haircut..lived his curls!

Punusername: I came here cuz my hair is tooo long is basically a afro at this point, i figured i would find some ideas on how to mildly stylized it, but home boy just went bald

Tyler Terry: Great cut but I think maybe better with a little bit more of a taper. Not a bald fade but at least more of a fade to it

J.A.R: Wish I had hair like that

Ryan Mcdonald: Best barber by far

Sebastiano Rasiński: He was about to cry.

Wavy Dane: i whish i had curly hair, then ur hair always looks the same and always looks good without any effort, i hate my straight hair

Killian Martin: the clipper sounds like a jet engine

TB HEAT: How do you get your hair to look like he started

Paulo: The stylist has a different accent and he says "Mate" a lot, so I guess they are from Australia.

Mustafa Ödemiş: When İ want to cut my hair. (İts growth 5 months) . İ come here and i dont cut
