Diy Double Unicorn Hair Cut - How To Get Layers In Curly Hair

*OPEN ME FOR DETAILS*

Hey Guys! i did it again , and this time I went a little beyond with the haircut. Im loving it , let me know what you think and if you get your hair professionally cut or if you do it yourself.

by no means I'm saying that its better than getting your hair cut by a professional but honestly we know how expensive those deva cuts can be. If you reeeeaally need a hair cut but rather eat and pay the rent this month instead...I strongly suggest to give it a shot.. what's the worse that can happen? after all its just hair.. it grows back!

Love,

Vanessa

Hey guys welcome back to my channel, as you can see, I just came from the gym and my hair is a mess. It'S yeah, it's Catholic kind of weird kind of tangled, and it's long due for Erica, as you can see yeah that stage where it's a little too long and I'm not getting an optician and maybe I've caught a little bit. The ends is the curls gon na have a better pattern. So, let's start what we'll need for? This is just very simple, come scissors and a couple of our hair ties so we're gon na start. Just by the same way we started the first time haven't seen my other video it just basically just come it through and put it at the nape. No, I'm not, I think, that's the forehead part of your head yeah make sure it's very very come through and very um Teddy tangled. I prefer using a calm instead of a brush just because that way you won't break our hair, yeah right out and then try to up yeah time with us here. Then I'm going to use a ponytail and I'm going to secure it. I'M gon na make it as tight as possible, so that is very secure and strong. Oh yeah, I got watery Mac yeah! Okay, after that I'm gon na come in again cuz. I have a lot of hair and I'm gon na make another ponytail at the end of the previous ponytails. It'S actually what I called a unicorn, unicorn, hair or hair cut, because it's my big horn, yeah. We don't you yeah and then I'm gon na you can secure it and see where you're gon na want to have your hair cut. So these weakens actually my sister-in-law wedding, so I yeah I don't want to. I don't wan na make a mistake. This is my first time trying to uh unicorn heads up the double gaming. Finish will be sorry, so I'm very way about you know not cutting too much hair, but it's gon na happen. We got ta lose though it is what it is yeah I'm here. So you can do that a little bit. So it's it's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight yep! I have big hair anyways. Then yeah, I'm gon na try to take out a little bit of heaviness in two ends and just a little bit there. This is make sure to be younameit gon na, be something yeah. So now we are gon na. Do the half portion of the hair and basically is go right above your ear and try to make a turn as best you can really, and you can secure the recipe I mean hair with the ponytail. I didn't do it just because I didn't have that many times. I just try to do the same thing you did in the first time, but with the half the first half of your hair, the same thing put up ponytail at the end. However, this time you're gon na cut in a different way, they're, actually gon na cut upwards. Just so the shorter layers are at the beginning are a big done if it makes any sense. The shorter layers are the bottom and the longer. These are the top of that ponytail thingy, so just angle, your scissor and cut it in a diagonal way upwards. I use a ponytail to actually to get security. Take it off calm your hair again, see if you like a layered length and everything yep love it, and now you're gon na go above me on. If you like it like that, you can just leave the guys out that actually wanted a couple more days to get my bobbin, I decided I was going to do another and step, and I'm gon na get a little more hair. This time, just like my bangs pretty much there's a copper through see. I like little more here that they haven't all line with. You come again he's insecure the remaining hair with ponytails. I was too lazy for a head, but you can always get to the hitter better. Oh, I should did it teacher me cam remember. What I did sign is: let's see how pretty much is like them straight line and his batter older bangs Ariel do some things. Is pretty fun tell it is a lot of looking down in this video. Sorry guys same thing, that's just bad upwards and horizontal. I don't know why show you the hair? Okay, so I'm still going to take a little bit of a weight and then a little bit it's time to shake it all off combat in furtively years. My monkey news and my long days look, I don't lose any of the lens. It is how your feet shake ready to see the final result tah-dah, so they don't look like I'm so so excited. I love my haircut. I look like a lion or Nam. This looks so so voluminous I'm living for it guys. I can't yeah, I'm very happy. I went through and just caught it you know again, I'm still can't I still can't afford evocati. So I'm very very happy I I know I just love it. I know it's a little bit shorter than what I was expecting. So I do recommend to just go. Slow, but I hope you'll like it. I hope you enjoy this video and if you like it, give it a thumbs up. Comment on the video and I'll see you next time. Look at the layers, I'm just I'm just living for it, I'm very happy cuz, I'm not gon na, be looking crazy and I say: there's a lot wedding this weekend, but yeah I heard about the air. Ok guys! Thank you. So much have a good day love! You

Dream Girl: I stepped outside my comfort & took the plunge, did this today. It was a huge success! I think it might’ve changed my life thank u so much for posting this!! I did all three steps and I have very nice volume thruout my 2B/2C hair!!

Ka Pi: is anybody else here because they are scared to be verbally abused from hairdressers for being/staying curly or just me? I've literally never been to a hairdresser that didn't insult me :)))

Rayna Martin: You literally look like a movie star (you kinda remind me of Eva Mendes). It’s so nice to see a tutorial for us loose-curl textured girls, instead of straight or wavy cuts. Loooove the volume from this.

K Kissinger: I've been dancing around the idea of cutting my own hair for a couple of years now and I think this video and this quarantine situation make for a perfect opportunity!! Also, I'm perplexed by "Sister-in-law's wedding"

Agena Underwood: Vanessa: My hair is a mess Me : That is the prettiest hair I've ever seen haha

Aisha Ali: Wow. I’m embarrassed that I wasted so much money on haircuts all these years. I just did this and the results are fantastic. I look like I just got a fresh cut. My curls are bouncy. Thank you so much for this!! It’s perfect for anyone with wavy/curly hair that’s past the shoulders in length.

Yassmina el iouj: I feel a bad decision is coming in this quarantine

allersfera: Please, for anyone trying this. It's an OK technique and you can get pleasant results if cut right (i've done it myself). However, take note that her hair density/volume is heavy with big curls, hence why you won't notice any mistakes and/or gaps. Now, if you have very little hair density(like me), make sure you leave a bit of the backside (aka; your length) out of the ponytail so that you can keep hair density in the back(aka; your length again). I once did it wrong (or like shown in the video) and i was left with little a gap I wasn't too fond of and basically had very little 'length' in the back. Cheers !

First name Last name: Ok so I just watched this video and cut my hair the exact same way you did it. All I have to say is THANK YOU!!! I love the way my hair turned out and so does my wallet! Haha this was awesome!! I never had later before because I was afraid of it looking ridiculous, but I love ittttt!!!

A B: I've been cutting my own hair for years, and was looking for a slightly different technique, and came across your video. I'm about to go try this way out on my curly hair. Wish me luck! Thanks for the video :)

Josyp: GIRL. You don't need a deva cut. THAT HAIR OMG

Mary Dennis: I've been back and forth on going to a salon that specifies in curly cuts, and I came across this and gave it a try. I'm happy with how much better my hair feels already. May end up trimming my hair this way from now on, instead of making a trip to the salon. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

Pili Hierro: This is the third time I've followed your tutorial to cut my hair during quarantine. Right now I had a big chop and loved the result. Can't thank you enough for posting this video for us! :D

Kaley Walker: I was fixing to go to the salon and they kept telling me that I can't have that many layers they won't do it yet charge a fortune for one long layer. I did this and OHHH MY GOSH. My hair looks AMAZING. I have hair similar to yours. I love it I'm so glad I can across your video I didn't realize I could get the cut I wanted myself. Never going through the salon hassle again.

susan kang: Thank you so much for this video❣️I cut my hair for the first time last week and it turned out absolutely amazing ❣️You do not need a deva cut. I had one in September and spent $300. The unicorn cut came out much better❣️I never have to go to a salon again❣️I’m also growing out my silver❣️

Ashley S: Gorgeous! I have been cutting my hair the first method for a few years now. I think I actually saw a previous video of yours when I decided to do it myself. I got so sick of people claiming they new how to cut curly hair and they butchered my hair so bad. Anyway, so happy I say this "cut my hair again" with this double (triple, really) unicorn method. So excited to try it tomorrow. For those on the fence, I have very thick and long hair like hers, but even curlier. This method works and has saved me soooo much money.

iaara G: Hey just wanted to say thank you for this! I just cut my hair like you did and it doesn’t look as good as yours but it looks good! So thank you! And you’re very beautiful keep going ❤️

Serena Rose Authentics: I cut my hair like this & I love it. Never tried the diagonal cuts for the top two layers though (I always cut horizontally straight across) but I’ll try diagonal next time as that seems like a great technique. Thanks for posting this brilliant video.

Karine Abelyan: I have tried to cut my hair today. It's amazing! I never have thought that I'll be able to cut my own hair, but with this quarantine situation I gave it a try and I'm so happy now!

Sofia Plasencia: Great thing too curly hair covers up if you mess up lol.

Christa Nice: Thank you Vanessa, I just cut my hair following your steps and it looks great! I've actually gotten a couple Deva Cuts (my profile pic is a fresh Deva Cut) which did give me a curlier result, but sacrificed length. I actually prefer the long layers for greater versatility, and I saved a lot of money doing it your way!!

tomatsauce: This is amazing! I tried it out and my hair has seriously never been so curly!! I might never go to a hairdresser again. Thank you so so much! ❤️

Brittany McKinney: This is AMAZING! I love how easy this was. My hair is exactly like yours, and responded the same way. It was perfect! THANK YOU!

Sian Lloyd: I've been needing to cut my hair the whole year and so glad I found this video. Just cut my hair with this technique and it's looking great! Thank you for the inspiration Vanessa :)

Gema Guzman: it’s 3am and im feeling an urge to do this but i don’t want to wake up and regret it hahaha but your hair looks amazingly beautiful!!!

Bry Walker: Oh my gosh I am trying this. Thank you and I am subbing now! You're hair is gorgeous and so in step with my healthy hair goals Update: I did it and I love it. I part my hair heavily to one side so I noticed I would like more layers on one side so I'll do this again for sure and keep playing with it but I am so happy and grateful. Thank you again.

Christina: Thank you! I haven’t had a haircut for a year & this worked so well! So happy to find your video! You are gorgeous!

Danielle k: Ok so i finally cut my own 2c/3a/b hair today (quarantine tingz) using this method in your tutorial and it came out AMAZING!! I love it so so much thank you so much!! I did touch up my lengths a little bit at the end because they were a bit incoherent with my layers but the end result looked incredible, I still can't believe I actually did this

Tracy Jojy: Thank you so much for this tutorial.I cut my hair for the first time and I'm in love with the result ❤

Lorreta Rebello: Thanks for the awesome DIY ...love the way you have shown the step by step process.. my trimmed my own hair and it looks lovely .. got rid of all the excess weight .. thank you once again ♥️

Nurse Ali: I love it! I’m definitely motivated to try that with my hair now too. Luckily curls hide a range of sins.

Indie Gypsy: Thaaaank you for this!!! Worked like a charm and it's so nice to have layers again you're a lifesaver! Edit: gave my hair a blowout to see how the layers look when its straight and they're super even. This is a great at-home method all around.

S C O R P I O: Just tried this out and Ive never cut my hair in my life before. It turned out really well and my curls are more lifted and with volume!! Thanks for this video❤️❤️❤️❤️

Anila Khan: I just cut my hair following your video and I love the way it turned out!! Thank you so much for making this video!!

Cat Cvengros: Love it! I have shoulder-length hair and it worked beautifully! Thank you!

Marilin Medrano: I haven’t gone to a salon for more than 5 years. My sister cuts my hair. I tried something similar to this video, but I’m definitely trying this!

chelsey hudson: Haha! I love this video! I’ve been cutting my own hair basically the same way for the last 25 years. I’ve tried going to a hair dresser three times during that period but this cut turns out so much better and is free! Your hair is gorgeous!

Jocelynn Rodrigues: I love this video and yes wow your hair looks amazing - love it! Thank-you for inspiring me to just trust in my own self - it's nice to get others to cut my hair but it's been hard to find people that understand my curls - I will find someone and then I will move cities haha so it's this perpetual thing.... so I'm taking things into my own hands :) Excited to experiment. As you say, it will grow back - no stress! Honestly your hair is BEAUTIFUL! And you are a radiant being. Thank-you :)

Natassia A.T.: OK, people! I rarely comment, but I DID IT AND IT WORKS! I have 3b curls and even if you mess up a little bit, the curls do cover it up. I'm here re-watching to cut my hair again :D <3

Kimberly Garcia: I DID IT ! I was scared but thanks to this video I did a great job. My curls are more bouncy! Thanks girly

kaleawavedancer: Thank you for this! This worked better for me than going to the salon, and gave me back some of my natural volume that had been lost from the weight of my waist length curls.

Magz Lomeli: I cut my hair along side you and it looks fabulous and voluminous! Gracias Hermosa!

Too Sirius: I have been using this method of cutting my hair for over a year now and it's amazing. Glad I have a ton of coarse, thick wavy/curls because precision doesn't matter :-) This technique does work beautifully, and I am grateful for your videos!! Your hair is gorgeous.

Lily olaniran: So amazing Vanessa, I'd tried it and at first my hubby wasn't convinced for me to do it on my own. But after have done all the cutting..wow! it turned out so fabulous! so happy of the result so as my hubby..lol .Thank you so so much

Victoria Arancibia: I just cut my curly hair following your instructions and I LOVE it! So happy I found this video. Thanks for sharing it!

Jo Jenkins: Just done mine and it works a treat! My hair looks great! Thanks so much!

Maricela Acevedo: I just did this and omg my hair looks bomb! I might cut more layers after my next wash. Thank you for this video. BTW your hair looks amazing. You remind me of Eva Mendes. Gorgeous❤

Jilleyful: I tried it, and it worked very nicely! Thank you for this video! My ends are so much healthier, now!!

Hot_Diggity_Dog: Thank you so so so much for this! I have 2c 3a hair type and this technique made my hair look 10x better so simple I love this!

Bailey Reed: I love this! Your hair is so beautiful too! I tried it tonight and I definitely noticed a lift in my curls. ❤ my curls weren't as defined as they normally are but I think that's because of all the combing I did so I'm excited to see the real end result after my next shower. What hair products do you use to get your curl to start at the root?

Jujuhappytime: Just just cut my hair following this tuto. The results are amazing ! Most efficient and fast cut i ever crossed ! Thank you so much !

Wendy: I finally had the guts to cut my hair today. I did the cuts like yours and I love how my curls look. I feel like I have more volume on the top which I love. Thanks for sharing quarantine has me doing things I would dare lol

Emily R.: Wow, the haircut looks amazing. What beautiful hair. I loved the tutorial - thank you!

WomanofFaith: Looks Amazing! Great job, you look beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing this technique.

Natalie Schick: Thank you for this video. This has helped me alot and I'm starting to love my natural hair texture! All thanks to you ❤❤

schlumbl84: I cut my hair like this for YEARS. Haven't been in a salon for more than 11 years. And that one time it was only to get my hair done for my wedding. The part with the second segment of hair and cutting upwards was new to me and I tried it rightaway, since I needed a fresh cut. I love it! It gave my fine curly hair much more movement. If I wear my curly hair too long the curls tend to hang themselves out. Although I really love to wear my hair long, it definetely needs layers. Your video was just what I was looking for! Thanks a lot! You gave me my new favourite technique!

Lynda Jose: Yesssss ♥️ I watched it, then followed along! I gave myself the best haircut I've ever had! Thank you!!!

L My boi: Omg thank you so much for doing this video! you really explained it perfectly! I appreciate that♥️

Warrior Mama: I just finished doing your tutorial here and it went well. I specifically used your video as I have curly hair. Second hair cut I have done myself and both have gone well. Thank you so much for this video. #covid-19

Catheleen Nombrana: Just tried this, my hair turned out amazing!!! Thank you so much!

rubyray777: Okay, this worked great! I was growing out my semi curly/wavy hair (way kinky curly underneath compared to the top) all in the same length but it was looking very flat. I used this method and it worked! My hair is not as long as yours but it still worked. And I saved a $hit ton of money considering rent is coming due. Thank you!! And like you said, it's just hair! It'll grow back!

Lilac 🧿: I did it today and it worked so well im so happy with the results thank you so much

Elda Castaneda: I cut my hair for the first time following this video and it came out great! I have curly hair and the cut took off all the weight that made it dull. Thanks!!!

Brenda Meredith: LOVE your hair, so beautiful!! This is the way I cut my hair also. I do 3 layers & I just love how it turns out.

Dimpl : s: I finally tried it and love it. I have 3C curls and every time I get my hair trimmed she takes off too much. I'm finally pleased. I will never go to the salon again. Thank you so much for this tutorial. You saved me time, money and disappointments.

Nichol Avendano: I have been wanting to cut my own hair for years omg thank you so much I did it and I love it ! I have hair like yours and everywhere I go they want charge me $100 and end up messing it up. I did the two layer since it's medium length but when it gets longer I will try the three layer. I cut off more than I wanted but it still looked great I recommend first timers do very little. I tried one layer but the second layer gives it the volume oomph it needs and the curls curled nicely. Thank you so much now do one on your eyebrows love them !

TheYouthquaker: I have hair just like yours and I repeatedly watched your videos and finally did this to my hair a few hours ago! THANKKKKK YOU! I’m NEVER going to a salon again. My hair is bloody incredible! It’s so easy! I chopped off 10 inches. YOU ARE AMAZING!

bucii rebel: I just literally followed your tutorial to cut some laters for my daughter and honestly it was % better than the salon. They never got the multiple layer thing. My former hairstylist was the king of layers. Noone else has been able to duplicate and everytime i took my daughter for a cut the stylist would never do it. My stylist moved out of state hence the reason why he was never able to get his hands on the my daughter’s hair, which would have done wonders for her straight hair for volume. You did an awesome job!!!! I will keep referencing to your videos. Thank you thank you

GiannaMarieElizabeth: LOVE how this came out! Have you tried blowing out the cut to see how it looks straightened?

natasha patel: Thank you for this hair cut idea... It came out to be wonderful ❤️

resueah: Thank you!! Bit the bullet and my hair can breathe again. Feelin' all the flyness of a fresh style! You're a beauty btw :)

Jiyan a Min: hay your hair looks so great after the cut ✨... u did a good tutorial.. i tried it myself and i love it feeling soo good rn ❤️✨

Emerald Eyes: That looks SO good! Great job!!

Cindy Welke: Thank you, I did that and it worked. My hair has so much more bounce and volume! X

Emma Bruno: You’re so beautiful and this tutorial worked perfectly. Thank you!!!

Janes Sanchez: My mom just did hers and love the results Thank you

Tina Quesenberry: So simple and quick! Thank you so much for sharing! Feels much better. Looks just fine. :)

Svetlana’s World: Love it! Came out gorgeous! You are gorgeous . That’s it! I ordered some scissors. Gonna do it too. Thank you love for this easy video!

Gracelin Henry: Tried this haircut today and loooved it. Looks amazing for my 3A curly hair

agb0012000: Hi. I did it, I did it, and it can’t out great. I’ve been needing a hair cut for many many months. Thank you so much, again, for posting this video. It was simple to understand, and the cut itself couldn’t have been easier. For those that are scared to try it, don’t be. It’s a piece of cake. You’ll be done in ten minutes or less.

Roma is Trans: Girl this refreshed my hair and was so easy to do! Love it!

The Amateur Mama: You look fantastic, thanks for the video. I'm going to try this on my next self cut. I really like your highlights too, do you have any info on how you got those? I've never highlighted my hair but yours is natural and flattering so I'd be interested to know what colours you use and the method x

Melissa M: I LOVE your curls!! I cut my wavy hair this way and it always turns out great! If on a whim I get it cut at a salon, I usually don’t like how they cut it. So I save lots of money by cutting it myself!

Hunny Bunny: OMG, prettiest hair cut. I am trying this today on my curly hair! thanks for making it look so easy!

Danielle K: I just tried this today. My hair looks amazing!! I don’t think I’ll ever need a salon again. Thank you!!

Claudia Harlow: This is exactly how I cut my naturally curly hair!! Saves me a bomb and honestly, if you wear your hair curly/wavy 24/7 you cant really mess it up

Jessica Mendoza: I did this last night and it came out really nice! Thank you. I didn’t think it would (thought I would mess it up) but I really like it. My hair is black and I was thinking of dying it or highlighting them but unsure what to do. Wish me luck

Ash Pestile: I've done it and my hair turned out amazing, thanks for the tip

Julie Curtis: This is amazing! I'm going to try this when my hair gets longer.

Raquel García Gutiérrez: What a beautiful hair you have!!! Thanks for your tutorial, I'll do it once I buy those special scissors! Greetings from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria!

Sara Lopez: Wow. This is sooo beautiful and it looks easy. At least easier than other tutorials but even better results. Thank you.

Sophie Linney: Just did this today! I have super thick 2A/B/C hair, and I'm pleasantly surprised with how it came out (I've never had a good DIY cut experience lol). Thank you for the tips!

Amanda Morgan: Wow I love it! We have a similar curl type so I'm excited to hopefully have this volume. I'm going to try this today or tomorrow

Lee Ruffner: It's beautiful! My hair is very similar and I'm going to attempt it this weekend. Thanks for sharing!

Lisa Byers: thank you! literally just cut my hair with this technique and love it, thank you again!

Connie Artiga-Oliver: THANK YOU!!! This may be the best haircut I ever had!!!

Dee Stitcher: This is how I cut my own hair! Feel better now that I know I am doing it the same as other DIY curly hair cutters! Your hair looks awesome!!

Liezel Morkel: Stunning, I have hair like yours and I am seriously needing a trim too, and I didn't want to lose any of the length either. I will definitely try this at home during lockdown, and possibly even forever

Jennifer Jimenez: Omg! You make this look so easy! Can't wait to cut my curly layers!
