❣ Love you long time xx,

[ Applause, ], [ Applause, ], [, Applause, ]. We have a glaze on right now, but my girlfriend Ashley, not my girlfriend. My girlfriend Ashley, is visiting from LA. She has actually gotten her hair cut by owner before in took advantage of the opportunity that she was here to get another cup. Iona and Ashley has fine and thin curly hair, and so I know so many of you guys are constantly asking me questions about this. I have a video already on my channel. That is very popular, so I wanted to do kind of like a part too and ask ona some questions as she cuts Ashley's hair ona tell me so far, based on Ashley's texture like give us the rundown of like her head and what you're doing and why. She wanted a fringe in the front for a face frame her face, so we're gon na go ahead and do that and then we're gon na work our way towards the back, bring everything hair towards me so that we have weight we're gon na build weight. When you have fine hair, the best way to have fullness and thickness or to create that illusion is to build weight into the hair so that as a curly girl who has fine hair, can you give us some tips on? Obviously, not everyone has access to an amazing stylist, like you do where they're from, but if I were someone who had fine hair and I wanted to get a haircut. What are some of the things that I should be mentioning to my stylist during my consultation, so that they can understand how I want my hair to look because, most of the time girls would find hair. They want a lot of volume. So how can they achieve that with a haircut I would say: go to a professional that knows technique very well. When you have fine hair, the best technique and depending Y would be graduation right. So graduation plumps up it's the Arnold Schwarzenegger of Meek's, like one of my mentors and graduation, is like layers with that nozzle layering, both the bulks hair. It makes it lighter right when you have fine hair anywhere to layer it, it would thin out there right, depending how you utilize it so the best technique. If you want fuller, thicker appearing like hair, that appears thicker, then I would say graduation. So you said graduation, that's not layering, but it is what what are you doing to the hair you're building weight incremental e building weight into there? So that is what you're doing to Ashley right now and we're doing Brown graduation we're going to incorporate a fringe and we're gon na maintain some length. So is it like the style that angle at which you cut the hair that gives it a graduated? Look therefore making it fuller. Graduation lives from 1 to 89 degrees in the year right. So graduation is at a downward position, sometimes right. So I'm focusing on building links. If I were to elevate the hair at the top of the head or the apex highest point of the head, then I would be layering because layering lives right. So what I'm doing is that I'm working with hair plenty of tension to keep the finish soft and it down, except it's soft frothy and there's a buildup of weight getting to the corners. I'M making sure that I'm not following the head shape instead pulling outward to maintain them. My fingers swear really important to sleep, really nice and clean manliness, close to godliness with a nice and clean section, so that you can see your work. The other thing is that she was slowly decreasing her elevations, I'm using her head also and again for me, I'm keeping it with a little bit of tension so that I can break up the line. How do you recommend that they come to the salon with the hair done already so that you can really play with the texture and get a feel for what the hair, the current state of the hair before you go into the hair? Absolutely for me, it's really important anyone that asks me. Everything comes out come the way you normally would go out with your hair, so that I can keep it's important to me so that I get an understanding for your text, your kids and have multiple textures. How am I going to work with your hair? What technique would I be utilizing my cutting you? What am I gon na? Do you mostly do wear dry clothes for girls with fine hair? Does it really depend, and then I'm pivoting square, [ Applause ]? I think that's why people love your videos, because you explain it in a way that you sound Authority, like you know what the hell you're talking about, and you do no, because the final result shows it but you're, also explaining in a way that normal people understand You'Re, a great teacher you really aren't and for real, like that's, where stylists feel that they feel like. I don't know for whatever reason that, like educating the client is not part of the service, and I think that's what makes the client fall in love with the hairstylist, because it feels like we're won and we're like working together. Ah, our magnifier, I'm using the curl magnifier by twisted Sebastian: where can they buy this? Besides your salon here at my salon, I section the hair, I did a horizontal sectioning cut the nape out and I'm going in with two pumps of the twisted pearl magnifying cream. Next section about an inch in diameter, not too thick, why is it important to section the hair so that you evenly distribute the product? That'S really really important. I also like to wet things down make sure that it's nice and moist I'm gon na go in pumps. I rake it in with my fingers: go for more go for more go from our all right. Why are you doing it that way so that it - and I make sure I don't skip any hair - everything gets evenly distributed through the product through the hair? And you you that product has a very lotion like consistency, which I really love. I also love that there is no stiffness to the product. It doesn't get crunchy or stiff. It'S really really nice and pliable. When it comes to styling fine hair. What type of products do you recommend something that is very lightweight creams gels, so I switch up magnifier. I also use this, which is a foam very lightweight foam depending the texture. You can definitely cocktail them for morholt and this product link. If you use wavy curly Texters, what is the supersonic machine, what I say it mimics air drying, so it's on high. I wish I had one of these in my house guys, but these are a good old $ 5,000. So if anyone wants to pay upon me five g's, so I can buy one of these. For my house love you forever. [ Laughter, ] come on youtuber come on youtuber. You know, you're, not gon na get paid fluffing. Your hair, like that, come on give us the slow-motion angles and everything Bam Bam. You should have seen what her hair looked like before she looked like a damn cat lady. She look like she had mighty cats perfect. What would you have a plumbing tip? It'S all free yeah, like I actually looks like I have a full head of hair you. She gave you so much volume yeah this one hustling all day how many clients you have today ma'am fifteen. So what do you guys think of the results we went in with some around graduation? Graduation can only live as long as your shoulders or as short as a date. She was fine here actually as fine beautiful hair and we went in and took about six inches off of her length interior, her interior length, and it was he all that lovely shape that she now has that fullness. And she had stress to me that she has fine hair and that she wants it thick and full. So that's where we went in. I did that technique, because that will give you. It builds body right into the hair and she's a simple kind of gal, so it works because that's my what do you guys think I love it?

Jocelyn Veronica: 2 minutes into this video and I’m already really happy I clicked on it. I’ve got some super fine, curly/wavy hair. This is so helpful. Thank you!

Kara Pelletier: Gonna chime in for a second on hair texture vs density...the term "fine" only describes your hair's texture, which is the size of the actual hair strands. If you have fine hair, your individual strands are smaller in diameter. Good test to see if you have fine hair is to take a single strand in between two fingers and rub them together. If you can't feel it, your hair strands are fine. Hair DENSITY is something else. This is how much hair you have overall. A good way to tell your approximate density is to take all of your hair, put it into a ponytail, and measure the circumference. Low density hair will be less than two inches, Medium density will measure between two to three inches, and high density will be at least four inches. So the person in the video may have fine hair, but it does't appear to be especially "thin" (or more accurately, LOW DENSITY). For example, my 2C/3A hair is fine and for the longest time I thought it was thin because it always felt and even looked that way to me. One day I decided to find out for sure, I measured my ponytail, and it turns out I have medium density hair (measuring in at a 2.5" circumference). When in doubt, measure - could be you have more hair than you thought. Hopefully this can help with some of the questions popping up. :-)

Misty Wong: Really wish a tutorial would come out for fine/thin hair with someone that actually had fine/thin hair.

puggirl415 puggirl: I find it problematic how there aren't many stylists who get texture description right for this type of curly hair. That woman may have fine textured hair, which means each individual hair is thin and fine but damn she has plenty of hair. I too have the same texture. Fine strands but lots of hair so it's not a misnomer to say she has fine textured, but thick hair.

Rachel Nesheiwat: This is seriously amazing! I wish I had a cut like this for my fine curly hair. Perfect shape omg. I really hope I can finally find a stylist who can do this for me.

CMJ: Awesome and highly informative video! Thank you! Her hair looks healthy, full, and gorgeous! ‍♀️

Anel Vazquez: Working but wanted to say hi!!! Looking forward to learning everything Ona has to share on fine thin curly hair!!! Can’t wait!!! Love it when you and Ona get together!!#vecinafam

Shauna: I have curly fine hair (2b-2c curls and waves). I think this customer would have gotten better results if the stylist applied the product differently. I think if she had applied it in a way the would clump the curls together rather than pulling them apart, she would have had a less stringy effect and would have had more definition to her curls. But in the end, the cut was great. I'm just pointing out that the results could have been different - no shade on the stylist, I think this was a great walkthrough!

Passion Paradise: Ona is awesome. Love when you bring your camera to her salon and get us educated by her.

Yoshiko Yamamoto: I really love ❤ the way you cut the hair so simple and even i cut my hair just like you do at home it is absolutely great!! And you are a great hairdresser!!!

Adeline Gonzalez: Thank You! Got this type of haircut after watching this video and it's one of the best cuts I've ever had!

Purva Sawant: Loved it!!! She really did magic!

Chakira Vargas: This video gave me life. Being stuck in Washington state because my husband is military with fine curly hair has been a disappointment after the other in salons here. I’ll be waiting to go back to NY after his contract ends and all I’m looking forward to is just to get that haircut

Ashlynn Burnett: Wow this is sooo helpful! I had no idea what graduation was but now i can clearly talk to my stylist about what i want, thanks! Immediately subscribed ❤️

The Woman's Physique: Thank you! Really a great professional. I did it by myself and got beautiful !!!! Thank you very much!!!!

Airina: The tips are great to share with a friend who has curly thin curly hair! great video ❤️

Michelle Delancra: Thank you so much for this video. You are awesome, thank you for asking such good questions. And this hair stylist...I NEED HER!!

Usagi.moon.power: I love this! I need her in my life ❤

Natalia: Thx for this video Ada. This is exactly what I want on my hair

Sonia D: OMG this video was sooooooooo informative!! Thank you! ♥️

Fabulous: In the uk, by official standards, Graduation is the offical name for layers. you have long graduation which is what you call 'layers' and then short gradutation which is what she is talking about.

imslowluv33: I luv this cut! Ona gives me hope that I can have great hair again! My hair has gotten very thin, and is already fine. I have a question. My hair is super thin in my crown, would you recommend this type a cut?

Ruth Adewoye: Thanks Ada for going out of your hair type to help us fine hair gals. Don't stop now...lol

LovingLifewithJudi: I learned so much!! Thank you for doing this

Carly Ginther: Ada - nice video. Thank you for asking the question about what graduated cutting is. She didn't explain it really the first few times, but you kept asking different and she finally did lol. Great questions!

Little Miss Sparkle: I need Ona in my life amazing. Thank you and love to all.

GG 107: Wow! She is a very good teacher. I'm tempted to make the 3hr drive to see her. You ask great questions, too

Stephanie Ortiz: Love this cut! Have the same type of hair but usually get a Deva cut. If I asked for graduation, would they also be able to give me a cut like this since they cut dry?

Yelena Rivera: YASSSS!!! Please bring ONA to NOLA! ‍♀️❤️❤️❤️

Genessi Rosario: Ona cuts my hair now because of you !!! thank you for helping me find my curl savior !!!

Toni Lynch: Awesome questions! thanks for this video love it...

Wise Owl: Trying this cut tonight and no I am not a stylist but I really appreciate you sharing this technique! I'll update later...

Justme77: How do we thin curly heads get a stylist to do this for us?? Do we tell them to give a graduated layering?

jill tedesco: that girl does not have thin hair she has a lot of hair maybe it's fine but it's not see through, that would be thin. People with true thin hair would take that in a second

B P: Love it!!!

Marlene Jones: It is damn effing gorgeous. I have the same kind of hair....white hair, im 70. Is it wrong to want my hair to have this wonderful wild fluffy look? I cant afford haircuts in a salon. Im just wishing it could happen..sigh... .you did a fabulous job Ona. And thank you for this video. Oh my hairs only earl lobe length not long and beautiful like hers

Follow That Girl With The Curls: Had to give it a like before even watching cuz I know it going to be good. Will be watching in my bed tonight

Deanellys Rivera: How would you cut your hair if you have fine, low density hair? The girl in this video has much more hair than I do.

Natasha Vega: Love all your videos, Please make a video for thick curly hair, I have you same curl pattern but thicker.

Midnight Cat: Her new style looks like so much FUN & AMAZING!!!! I have boring straight/wavy hair :/// I guess the grass is greener :))

debasree's world: Really very nice haircut ❤️❤️

Jorgelina: I need Ona in my life! ♥

Tash Velez: I need a Ona in my life!!! I live in CT, so I'm not too far, so I'm really debating on making an appt. This video is for me all day. I have fine, curly hair with no volume on the top of my head. So flat, I hate it. And no one near me specializes in curly hair. Not even a Diva cut, even tho I had that cute in MY and it was ok.

bob: Part of the cut seems to be missing from this video. How did she cut the back length and layers on the top/back? Otherwise, a very good video for curly haircut. I tried it on my long hair and it looks good even for long hair, creating a rounded volume on the top/ front with length at the sides and back. The crown doesn't look good because I didn't know how to cut the back. Nevertheless, I have been trying to explain this shape to my hairdressers for at least 20 years, without success. My only problem now is that when I pull my hair up into a top bun, I can't get the hair to lie smooth to my scalp and the recesses at the temples are more obvious. It looks ok if I pull my hair back, but I prefer the knot to be at the top of my head. Is this because of the layering at the front?

Dawn marie Bass: Great job!

Cocomocha Latte: Gorgeous finish...her hair may be fine, but it's not thin

Laura Harmon: I need Ona in my life...any vecinas wanna road trip from Philly?! Thank you for this video. Ada!! Always coming through with the education.

Anna Parker: I know that this is an old video but I just have to say that it’s totally wrong to say that she has thin hair. The girl does not have thin hair. She may have fine hair but it’s not thin. People with fine hair can have thin hair but they can also have thick hair. Fine hair does not = thin hair.

Daisy Castillo: I need a stylist like her in Virginia Beach!

marwa ismael: I watched the video and i tried to do it myself :D

DONNA DAVISTON: Beautiful!!

True S: She could not be cutting my hair with all that talking, while watching this I thought she would cut of an area by mistake! LOL!

Carla Alverio: Love this omg

Tiffanie Casados: I really want to get my hair professionally cut by an actual curly girl pro. Every where I go they just layer my hair when it’s wet and then of course she’s combing it which stretches the curls so when I get home wash it and style it, its always shorter than I wanted and just horrible. I don’t think she knows about graduation style she pulls my hair up when cutting instead of pulling it down and framing like Ona. Ona do you recommend fine hair curly girls getting the rezo cut or one of those fancy cuts that most curly girls get?

05drea86: Omg i need her in my life

Cristy G. Alcalá: Sería perfecto que hiciera un video en español

Eileen Grier: Thank you for this, I have fine curly hair and may make the trip to her salon.

Ana Rivera: Omg thank you

Tammy Aswell: Thanks for the tips.

Sharon Santana: Ona Is no joke

Angie Martinez: Does your hair stylist still work at that Salon...I will definitely make the trip from bklyn to see her...I need to fresh cut and color for the fall! Please let me know

Helen L: Cute cut. Even though her hair is fine, she has a lot of it, so it doesn't seem very thin. The cut really made it look full.

Gecko Lia: Did Ona state round graduation only works for hair till down to shoulders, not longer? I have longer hair and always wonder what to do with it. I cut myself because last few times with layers I got the triangle look at hairstylists plus them then thinning out greatly afterwards. I usualky go with long layers but since my hair is curly at the neck and mostly svavy elsewhere with a part 2cm behind n above ear only slightly wavy....It's tricky. I also want volume at the high back but now sorta accept that's tricky to impossible. Better healthy hair that takes minutes to detangle than hairdresser-thinned out broken mess that takes 45 min every time....

Laura S: A before picture would have given a better perspective ‍♀️

Mara Mao: I wish she could cut my hair. I think most of the hairdressers Dom know the difference between layering and graduation. And they would get offended if you show them the video

Terri Lynn Price: Love your hair

qtmelina: I’m surprised she’s cutting it wet and not dry for curly hair

Jolly La Barbera: New to the game here. Is her hair 2B or 2C. I have similar hair texture and type

Gabriele Garcia: Sooo that's why the last time I went to the salon for some layers I ended up with some kinda mullet ‍♀️ never again

Jus Me: I'm not sure where this salon is located, I'm in Nj and watching 2 years later but that stylist looks like someone I went to cosmetology school with as a teenager. Her name was Anna (I won't post her last name). She was the BEEEST if in fact that's her- she came to my sweet 16 and everything lol.

Adina Marie: I am suddenly interested in bangs

jay eff: U asked really good questions

jess curlsz: Haven't watched yet BUT I wanted to show you some love soooo brb lol

Yvette Borrego: I wonder with someone with thick curly hair. If she used the same hair cutting technique. If the hair would come out with big hair and lots of volume

lineupgirl: wow

A. G.: WHERE is your salon? I am in Illinois & I will fly where ever you are. My beautiful thick curly hair fell out from chemo in 2013 & have been trying to grow it out since early 2014 but i have had at least 3 BAD haircuts. I have cried time & again & SUPER frustrated i started trimming it myself. My hair is short & needs to be fixed. I REALLY MISS my long curly locks.

Massyel Castillo: Where can I find this hairstylist?

hazel may rupa: I hope the picture of her hair was presented so that I'll be able to compare it with mine.

Alexander Berger: Love your video @derlockenspezialist

Maria Membreno: Buen trabajo

Isabel Rivera: I want my hair like that

Maria Membreno:

rashida7777: The hair strands are fine...but she has dense hair...which means a high amount of hairs per square inch for example. Cut her some slack.

Eagle Nebula: Just add some shoulder pads and the look is complete ;D
