Okay, hey guys, so I'm gon na do a really quick intro, because I'm running a little late, I'm going to get my hair cut today. This is kind of sort of kind of impromptu decision, not really kind of been debating it, but I finally bit the bullet and said I'd: do it today, so the difference with a we dot cut and a diva is the sectioning, but also diva is on dry. Okay - and this is on super wet because we can see how the curls lay and I was analyzing how it was with no product Ranger. So what I'm doing is see how I'm pulling this out and you can see the areas that are a little bit thicker. Yes, so I'll go in there and I just slightly just take a little bit of that weight out. Okay, that's why we need it to be super wet, so you can see where those curls want to clump together a little bit: [ Applause, ], [ Applause, ], [ Applause, ]. So now I'm gon na show you how to do a break-in shake and you just have to do the partings like I do, but it just helps me so what I'm going to do first, is I'm going to add, leave it. So this was the moisture lock. Okay, I'm using when you do you, so what I'm doing right now is I'm creating a cast the curl quencher gel. Just because I want you to try something different. I like it because it's soft it flows. Well, it just feels really nice and natural. There'S a hair, so I'm breaking through your product so we're breaking through and then I should get so I'm shaking it to allow the natural wave to form. So I'm using this and it's one of my favorites because it gives such volume and with this being a little bit flatter and straighter, we need to help it a little yeah. So money more oil is what I am going to break the machete. But I also sprayed it in your hair in the dry spots. So I'm doing this. Okay, you you

Johanna Deutschman: Timestamps & Q&A: Haircut starts - 1:37 End result (at salon) - 9:18 End result (after four days) - 9:44 Q&A (originally included but ended up making the video 20 minutes long, oops): Q: Why Ouidad and Not Devacut?: A: Honestly I don't have a true preference for either! But I do think Devacuts look nicer on shorter hair and they tend to incorporate a lot of "stacking" of layers which made me worried about growing out. If I was keeping my hair short, I wouldn't mind Deva at all! Q: What did you ask for? A: I wanted about an inch and a half taken off the ends, my longer layers trimmed, and my face-framing bits trimmed. Nothing drastic! I also came in with an inspo picture. Q: How did you choose your stylist? A: Cross referencing a ton. I looked on instagram for what the stylists had done and browsed Yelp + Google for reviews. Pauline was what I was looking for and she just happened to be Ouidad certified! She was also very personable and has been in the industry for 20+ years so I felt comfortable letting her take the reins. Also try to keep an open mind on the type of haircut you're looking for; I looked at anything from Deva to C-cut to Rizzo to Ouidad! Your stylist can heavily affect the outcome so don't skimp on research. A good cutting technique can be nothing if the stylist isn't all that great.

sour lilacs: The haircut looks really nice but I like the way you styled it better ;)

C M: THIS IS GORGEOUS. I loved how she distributed the weight evenly around the head, very seamlessly and pretty. Some stylists leave a major bulk in the top layer - with very thin bits in the bottom (one time my sister came back home crying from a deva cut bc the stylists did that lol)

Alba: Love the cut, but deffinetely way more gorgeous the way you styled it

Lydia Mills: Love how this turned out after you styled it yourself!! I have really similar hair texture and I find stylists always take it waaaay too far with products and scrunching at the salon lol. I think they're excited to play with curly hair but I find it makes it all crispy and my curls look way better when they are looser and more natural. Thanks for the video!!!

tebtew: I'm getting my first Ouidad (and curly specific hair cut in general) tomorrow so this was a great primer on what to expect. Love the results you go. Will definitely be trying the root clipping as that's an issue I have an no stylist has ever suggested such a thing before but it's brilliant.

R Kelly: I definitely prefer how it looked after you styled it but it looks amazing! This made me want to get a ouidad cut so bad!

april may: You looked like you were spilling intense tea to your stylist during the sped up parts

KittyGorl: Ahhh your hair looks so healthy and shiny D:!!!! She did a really great job!!!

to each his own: Wow it looks beautiful!! I recently cut a lot of length off my hair to get it healthier and curlier, and was inspired to finally do it by watching your channel! I’m looking into getting it cut in a similar style to this at some point.

Karen Weiss: Absolutely beautiful. You give me courage to cute my waist length curly hair.

Amber Rose: Love love love this video!! New subscriber here after this video. I’ve been on my natural hair journey for about two years and still have a lot to figure out, like a lot of curlies. I’ve been pretty loyal to Devacurl but hearing about their recent scalp burning and hair loss scandals I’m wanting to switch. I don’t think Deva is the best line for my hair type anyway. Are you still using Ouidad products? How do you like them? I’ve used one of their gels and I actually quite liked it so I’m interested in trying more from their line.

Gary DiCiasare: What was your favorite part about getting your hair done during the entire process?

Osnat Gerzon: Johanna, congratulations for the haircut! was it fun? (I, personally, looooooove going to the hair salon so muchhh!!! ☺). But I also think- like an other people here said- that the way you style you hair is prettier. I really think like that too. ❤

Psychonauts: Ouidad was a terrible experience for me but I'm glad you liked it. It really thinned out my hair.

eileen: YOU'RE AN EPITOME OF A REAL GODDESS ON THE THUMBNAIL AAAAAAAA I DIEDDDD!!!

Aesthetic Baking: you inspired me to cut my hair and I did!!!

Lola: how do you edit your thumbnails? you coupled with the aesthetics of your edits are gorgeoussss TT

barb mcglinn: II thought your hair looked dry when the stylist was finished, but 4 days later it looked very moisturized and the curls were really beautiful.

Mina Noor: You deserve way more subs and views! New sub here x great video

Summer Rossi: Prefer the way you style your hair at the end time stamp 9:44. I was worried the thinning out processes ruined your curls. But your curls were so angelic after your 4th day hair wash. In Love

DuckyParts: When the stylist showed the final result was was like errr that looks terrible. Then you showed your styled look damn that is a whole lot better.

Khamaya Anderson: you are stunning oh my goodness?? i love the blush on your cheeks and your hair just makes you even prettier

Dana T: You look beautiful!!!! I love it!!!

lily ann: honestly your hair is so pretty i’m so jealous, i have super straight but thick hair so it just looks big yet flat at the same time because it’s so straight. i adore curly hair, especially since i used to have curly hair and a lot of my family has curly hair. no clue where mine went but my parents said that theirs went away for a while at my age too? anyways i really just wanted to say i love your hair sm

Lyzette Vega: So pretty...I can't find anyone to cut well my curls in P.R.!

Estefania Lozano: Ur like the prettiest girl ever omg

Mars :: I love your dimple. I legit cant stop staring at it

Shiina: new subscriber here! curlygang ❤️

Stanka Kordic: Wow She really rubs the stuff into your scalp!

sherrysicle: looks like lorde in her pure heroine era!

Colleen In Prayer: Wow love it.

chinesecigarettes 00: you could play snow white when the live action movie comes out. you're soo pretty

C N: What’s ur hair type? And how did you style it at home?

Vania Beavers: How fine is your hair? I want to get one, but read on another review that this isn't for fine, thick curly hair.

Atarinkë Curufinwë: My curls are a bit similar to yours but my roots are a straight frizzy mess, my hair has no density and I have a failed layered cut :( I don’t know how can I fix it...my hair are extremely dry...

Ines anaf: Am I the only one how think she looks like Timothée Chalamet?

Dale Tracht: please dont play the music so loud. i cant keep turning it up and down to hear what you or the stylist is saying. great hair

Sherri530: Is it not cut into layers? All she did was snip to take the bulk out? I am getting one in 2 weeks but I need more than snipping bulk out for the money it costs.

Genesis Dorsey: Love ouidad I go to gene juarez

Emily Lerman: do you think that clipping the roots helped at all?

Claudia Javier: I don't know where to start with my curls ‍♀️

nikita sawchuk: curls pop'in

Yvonnvonn: I don´t get it. What exactly is she cutting in the middle of the hair strands?

allison levitt: omg im early for once??!!

Holly: I like scrunching better than the rake and shake method

soonsims: wtf is Ouidad???

Kaouther Skioui: James charles John cena Joana ceddia John celery

xcitebox: Johanna cheryl.....Joanna cedia
