Hey girlfriends, I'm Bianca nein you watching Bianca Renee today and today I'm gon na be doing a braid takedown video I've done this once before. And surprisingly you guys really enjoyed that. So I thought hey I have braids might as well. Do it again now for those who the fall man Instagram, you know that this takedown is a little bittersweet, because I only had these four barely two weeks and last time I had them for at least a month, but I am gon na be doing a curly Hair event tomorrow, so I can be my curls back for the curly hair event, and I know many of you surprisingly said that you would still love me even without my curls, but I mean it's kind of my job. You know I have to have curls it's like being a plumber and showing up without a plunger. It'S like what are you doing, but here we go. I went with blonde braids this time, they're pretty long and I added synthetic curls to the bottom of them. So this is how long they are they're, very Beyonce asked and I'm going to miss them. Alright, let's do this, so I read my comments from my last video and a lot of you guys were really bothered by the fact that I didn't start from the back of my head and worked my way up. I don't know why it matters if we're taking them all out anyways, so why you mad, you know we're gon na. Do it your way? Okay, that's what we're gon na do today. Alright, now we're gon na cut off wherever we know our hair is not so if you know your hair's, not this long go for it. I don't know why this is so scary. It'S like girl. You know your hairy that long but like we still get scared and we go like down here so I'm just gon na I'm gon na play it safe. Okay, I'm gon na play a real, safe and I'm gon na cut from right here. None of this is mine, yet it's long, but it ain't that long Wow. I could have cut a lot higher. I really tried to give myself more credit than I need it. Oh, this is my hair there. It is the dark piece. Oh yeah. We can really see my hair. No, oh, wait. We got ta do a time check just kidding. Alright, it is currently 6:30 p.m. alright. 6:30 is our start time. I'M gon na start a little time or two just in case now we're clocked in. Let'S see how long this takes me whoa, that's the fun part when you could just pull the rest off and they are all my inches one braid down about 49 to go now. Let me read some of the questions you guys had on Instagram do braids hurt. Is there a lot of tension on your head the first day it can hurt, if you don't tell the braid or not to do it too tight, they might do it too. Tight and your heads just gon na be like real stiff depends on how often you do styles to your head. I don't think that I am tender-headed, but I also never put my hair up like it's down 90 % of the time. So this time I forgot to say, please don't do it that tight so the first day it was pretty tight and it kind of hurt to sleep, because I couldn't put it up so just make sure you tell your braids err not to do it too, tight. If you're worried about that another one, how long does it take to take out your braids we're about to find out? Is it normal for your scalp to hurt, like a bunch, not sure she meant to say bunch umm, it can hurt once again, if you do it too tight. I actually noticed that I did get a little bit of a rash this time if the braids are done too tight around. Like your scalp, like this area or back behind the ear, you could get a little bit of a rash. I thought I was gon na die and then I just googled it, and I thought it's a pretty normal thing of braids, so I did get a little bit of like a rash right around here, because it was pulling on my skin too tight. It probably would have been better if I treated it with like neosporin or something, but it didn't happen until I was in Aruba - and I didn't have anything on me, but I kind of just went away on its own and now that I'm taking it out, like I'M sure it's gon na be fine. How do you deal with an itchy scalp? I would recommend adding some type of essential oil to your head at night or in the morning whenever it feels itchy. I also owe such a satisfying thing. I also got this thing from shea moisture. I have to find where I put it, but in my last braided video I showed you guys a lot of shea moisture products that were made for braiding and they actually have an anti itch drops. But otherwise you could just apply oils and just make sure you wash your scalp with your normal shampoo, so you don't get any type of buildup boom. We are moving, we are moving and grooving does the weight of your braids get annoying? Are they heavy this time they did feel a little heavy? I did go longer and I got this medium sized, so they're kind of thick. I wasn't able to put my hair into a ponytail because it was just too heavy at night. There were a little much you know: it's not easy, being Beyonce, much respect to her. Now that I've experienced this long, beyonce hair, it's really heavy when they get wet. So when you go swimming or in the shower, you're like they are pretty heavy. So keep that in mind. If you're not getting in the water you'll live edges. I have very fragile edges on my scalp gets sore on that area. Can I leave them unbraided? You should not be braiding your edges, you do not want to braid your baby hair. That is way too much tension and you will lose them. There'S plenty of photos of like what not to do with breathe, and that's always one that I see so these little hairs right here. This is what she left out, because that's gon na be way too tight. So yes leave out your edges, so you can have some how long do braids last it depends on your upkeep and how well you take care of them. I knew that I had to take these out eventually, like I hit me while I was in Aruba, so I kind of stopped taking care of them because I just was no longer motivated, but if you do wrap them with a scarf at night, it'll keep it Less frizzy, if you're not swimming that much, it won't be as bad. So just try not to do too much manipulation on your scalp. The way they don't look frizzy and as long as they don't look bad, you can keep them for as long as you want. I would say at least a month how damaging our braids braids actually aren't damaging. There'S actually gon na, be protecting your hair and kind of give your hair a break. So this isn't my little vacation for me and a vacation for my curls, especially for those of you that straight you're here all the time we're attempted this is a good way for you to not be tempted to straighten your hair. So it's protecting your curls from you and the straighteners. Did you braid your own hair? What kind of braiding here is best for curly hair there's not more like a best braid hair for curly hair, but there are better types of braiding hair that you could use. You want to use ones that are pre stretched, that's usually what breeders like to use, because it's already stretched out it's easier for them to use, and you also want to keep in mind that some brands - I've heard hasn't, happened to me. Yet you have to wash the hair first or it's gon na be itchy, so I've heard that there's some brands that make people each and then they want to take it out. So that's not good. Please leave a comment down below. Let us know what hair brands not to buy if you've ever bought in a certain brand. That makes your hair each. But if you want to see the braided hair that I bought watch my previous video, where I'm showing you how I got all these installed, which is it my braided playlist? How do you wash your braids? That'S another video that I just recorded. If you guys want to watch that one, I will make sure to link it down below as well. How much do braids cost the cost of braids can range between 100 to 200 plus dollars. Keep in mind that someone might be cheaper, but they might take longer. So I mean time is money, so I think I rather pay a little bit more to get the job done faster, but obviously do whatever you can afford. How long does it take to get braids don't once again, depending on the person who doesn't, I would say, a minimum 4 hours, maybe all the way up to like 9 or 10. You straighten your hair before you put in braids, no very good question. The answer is no. I also did a video on how I prep my hair. Before I got braids, don't let braids be an excuse to straighten your hair people there's no point in doing a protective style if you're gon na damage your hair before you protect it. Okay, do braids help with hair growth? Hmm I mean, I guess they do in the sense that you're not manipulating your hair, so you're kind of just letting it do its thing. Your hair is gon na grow, regardless you kind of just notice it more when it's in braids, because you could see it growing from your roots instead of a song a normal day-to-day, but because you're not like brushing or combing your hair every day or adding heat To it, it's going to protect it in that sense, and that could help it grow because you're literally just leaving it alone and letting it do its thing, do they damage or break off curly hair? Why don't you take them out well you're about to see, but what you're going to see is not breakage, it's just the hair that we normally shed every day but you're getting it all at once, but because the dead hair hasn't been able to fall each day, Like it normally does you're gon na see two weeks of hair shedding that should have already fallen, but nothing to panic about totally normal. I want to get braids, but I don't people to get mad because I'm Hispanic. Oh, that's a very good topic. That might be one that I'm gon na open up to the comment section. A lot of people ask: can other ethnicities get braids or is it cultural appropriation? I'M kind of on the fence with this one part of me is like yeah. It'S definitely like a black thing and I can see people getting mad, but at the same time you know playing devil's advocate black people get blonde hair all the time and that's definitely a white thing. So I don't know it's a tricky topic comment below and let me know what you think: can anyone do it, because it's just a hairstyle and us black people should appreciate that you want to. You know do what we do like many things, or should it just not be allowed, you know, could people just do what they want, because it's their hair one ethnicity own, a certain hair style kind of have feelings on both sides, but let me know what you Guys think comment below: can a white person get brave without it being offensive, I'm Italian and Lebanese yeah. Once again it's it's a gray area. I have seen braids look good on many ethnicities. I think I feel like it's a hairstyle and you should understand where braids came from. It wasn't just like a stylist choice that black people did it's like. They literally had to do braids to manage their because we didn't always have shea moisture and certainly like hair products in life. So yeah - I don't know it gets real tricky y'all could do two breeds guys. I am moving, I'm going so much faster than the last time I get nervous very good. I should see how I look with short braids, that's kind of cute. I probably should do short braids for my next vacation, because once I got wet and it was hot like I just needed them to be short - that's kind of cute. How often do you wash your braids only wash it when your scalp feels like you need it? I don't, I wouldn't recommend washing it every day, because that's not what does curly people do anyways. So even with curly hair, we wash our hair once a week. So try to just do it once a week unless you're swimming then you're gon na have to do it more after you swim how to deal with frizz at the roots. The best thing for that is going to be to wrap your head with a silk scarf at night, tie it around tight, so everything stays nice and flat, it's kind of inevitable after a certain amount of time, because your hair is gon na grow, you might just Need to get some gel and be ready to slick down those baby hairs if things get out of control, do you have to add fake hair when you get braids, or can you just use your own? If you have long, hair or whatever length you want, you could just braid your own hair, but it's not gon na. Look the same. If you want like the this type of look, you have to add braided hair, because this hair is going to just maintain the look longer your natural hair, it's gon na start getting frizzy a lot sooner. Oh all, right! I got through all the questions. I hope that was helpful. We are almost almost halfway done and I'm going pretty fast yo halfway done in under 45 minutes, I'm doing much better than last time. I happen to tangle anything, but it doesn't feel that bad because it's only been in there for two weeks here is my pet fluffy. We'Re done! Oh stop the clock one hour and 25 minutes give or take some minutes because I'm filming and had to stop and record a bullet Wow, I'm very proud of myself. What did I really do differently? Let'S break this down, so maybe my braids were thicker this time. So it was a little bit easier to undo. I only had them in for two weeks, so my hair wasn't too like tangled. In there the hair was still pretty like freshly moisturized to kind of slid off. I also didn't to tangle after each braid, because I don't have really bad build up. I have a little bit right here. You see that little line, that's some build up, but I didn't go through each one. One at a time like I did last time. I'M gon na attempt to just detangle this all at once. We don't see, but here Oh hold on, I can't even grab at all here, is all the hair that was used to make my braids full animal. This is a wildebeest, so now, let's hop in the shower and see how much hair I'm about to lose. Oh, yes, that first initial scalp massage is the best feeling ever, but now I'm about to use an excessive amount of product. So first I'm going to rinse off my hair rinse off my scallops how to get rid of as much as possible. Then I'm grabbing the not your mother's bamboo activated charcoal and purple moon, stone, scalp scrub, the smells amazing and it's just cause little tiny beads in it to really scrub down your scalp and trust me, my scalp needs it. Then you got to do a really good job at rinsing out all the little beads, but I'm grabbing my David curl wash day wonder which is a pre slip. Detangler that's gon na make detangling a little bit easier and oh, please excuse my makeup. Just washing off. I'M gon na wash my face after this, but, as you can see, the shedding has commenced. Don'T freak out, there's gon na be a lot more where that came from, and I really wanted to just use any and everything possible to make this detangling experience as easy. As possible, it still was super tangled. My hair is still kind of like in the sections of the braids, so I did grab a brush, but I don't know it was still struggling. So I grabbed a little bit more applied from to the other side and even try it the tangle teezer but like it just really was a struggle. So I decided to move on and cleanse my hair first. So then I grabbed the diva curl buildup Buster. If you watch a lot of my videos, you know the diva curl buildup buster is one of my go-to cleansers. I really like that. It has a nozzle just makes it really easy to apply directly to your scalp, but I'm gon na scrub dub-dub. To make sure I get rid of any product build-up and dandruff and hey, why not while we're at it? Let'S add another moisturizing shampoo for the length of my hair. You can use the Builder buster on your links as well, but I kind of wanted to try this new shampoo, and this is my brioche ooh. It'S very-very sudsy, even though it is of course sulfate free. Then I'm rinsing out the wash day wonder at the build of Buster and the Rio Gio. Do not despair shampoo all at once and to condition I'm grabbing the mongongo oil hydrating conditioner by miele organics. This is one of my favorite conditioners, because it is very hydrating. It has great slip and it can be doubled as a conditioner and a hair mask. So this really helped me get through everything and I'm finally finally done tangling, and this is all the hair that I lost. I know it looks like a lot. It looks like a little toupee, but once again this is just two weeks of shedding that hadn't fallen. So now I'm going to let the rest of this conditioner sit in my hair. Do a nice deep conditioning treatment for 20 minutes using my thermal haircare heat cap and just like that, I'm back to curly! Oh, it is pretty nice to have my curls back. The curly queen is back in her throne, shout out to Juana Nicole's merch. But let me tell you guys what I did after the shower. I applied the deep across super cream which is great for moisture, and then I added my deputy D girl to the curls jelly because I didn't have any time to mess around, because I really needed good second day hair and then today I used the not your Mother'S curl talked mousse and D, not your mother's, defining cream. So in honor of my curls I threw a little welcome-back party with all of my curls best friends. So overall I love giving braids. If I didn't have a YouTube channel about curly hair and didn't actually need my curls for my job, I probably would get them more often, but I do kind of treat myself to braids once a year. It'S a good protective styling, especially if you're going on vacation for doing a lot of swimming. If you know you're, just not gon na have time to do your hair, you just don't want to deal with humidity of where you're going. I definitely recommend you try some braids if you enjoyed this video or found it helpful or informational, make sure you give me a thumbs up and subscribe. I post two new videos every week once on Friday and once on Sunday, so make sure you hit that little notification bell so you're notified as soon as it goes live. You also follow me on instagram at Miz, Bianca, Rene I'll, see you guys next time. Thanks for watching Bianca Rene today,

Kacey M: Personally, I don't care if other ethnicities get braids. If anything I encourage it! I think that cultural appropriation=/= cultural misapropriation and that we can only get over these racial divisions by appreciating the cool parts of all cultures:)

Becky Cepeda: I get box braids done and I'm Latina...that being said I'm an Afro Latina from the Dominican and get confused for African all the time lol I would say just make sure to be respectful, give credit to the culture when people ask, and don't pull a Kardashian and call the braids by the wrong name giving credit to someone else ‍♀️

destinie malish: I feel like anyone can rock the hairstyle if they can respect were it comes from. This makes me think of weave or wigs. It originated with a certain ethnicity, but now all people wear it.

Just Shanie101: Also to prevent reactions to the synthetic hair, soak the hair (the parts that touch the scalp) in warm water and apple cider vinegar for 20 minutes. It will remove the alkaline layer on the braiding hair. You may not be allergic to the hair itself but the alkaline.

Yamilet Delgado: I feel like when it comes to latinos/hispanics braiding their hair there's a lot of gray area. Not all latinos are the same, I feel like it really comes down to your hair (if it's curly/kinky or not) and the respect you have for Black culture. I feel it's one thing braiding straight hair and then it's another to be braiding curly/kinky hair. Not to forget that afro latinos are a thing, some areas of Latin America have more African influence than others due to slavery and colonization. There is also a cultural intersect. Having 3c hair, I have wanted to do braids because I love the hairstyle and sometimes I just want a break from my hair but it's something that I haven't felt comfortable doing. I feel like as long as it's done respectfully and with historical and cultural knowledge, to each their own.

Rae: I think all ethnicities can wear braids, as long as they recognize that its not just a cute hairstyle, its something that represents black culture. So as long as people give credit to the black community, then ya, I think its fine for other ethnicities to wear braids

Alexandria: I had my braids in for two months and had waaay less hair shedding when I was taking out my braids. I did protein treatments and deep conditioned every week end to prevent all that shedding. You should try that next time you do braids

smartiesm: I say as a proud Afro Latina, we are also made with the same blood we are all African because we are just like a mixed person, we are European, African and Indigenous. I say YAY to the braids!!!

Ac Owens: everyone can do braids. HOWEVER some people's hair types are more likely to be damaged by long times in braids. the biggest reason I've seen for people getting mad that other ethnicities are getting braids comes from certain people's praise of those ethnicity and dragging of the blacks with this style (calling the blacks ghetto and the others gorgeous or amazing or innovative)

Samantha Benzija: I don’t think it is cultural appropriation. They wouldn’t get braids if they didn’t think it was beautiful style - cultural appreciation in my opinion

Just Shanie101: Peppermint oil is your best friend. Any soothing oil helps ease scalp pain and keep dandruff at bay. At least, it works for me

jenni williams: It’s such a relief when taking out braids I just recently to out some cornrows and my scalp felt so free lol

Curly Mckee: Who else wants to see Bianca Renee merch?! I love braiding my daughter's hair in the summer, protecting her hair from the elements. It is a process on Sunday to do, but I can normally get it to last a week. I loved seeing this process!

Urmi: “Hey curl friends!” I love this so much

Miidragon: Omg, I’m so glad seeing this positive comments about other races (I am Latina ) getting these braids. When I was little I used to get those normal braids at the beach, now that I am older I’m dying to get these box braids

Sophie Redstone: Everyone can do braids but should be respectful at all times. Thanks for the love ! But I need to say that if we are still trying to keep segregated people then our world won’t change , people you need to stop looking and everybody’s ethnicity and judging them for whatever they are . And if you don’t agree with my comment is ok but don’t spread that’s hate people dot need hate .

Kris: This is the first video I've seen of yours and when I saw your curly hair my jaw dropped!! So pretty and defined.

Sinndy Morr: I think people should be able to choose their hairstyle. I believe that there is evidence of braids being worn by different cultures thru history. It would not be a bad idea to do research so cultures can have the recognition they deserve.

Taylor Bosik: Everyone can do braids. I’m mixed but I look more white (with black features) I rock box braids tho! I love them. I got ombré blond braids if anyone is wondering

Qudsia Ali: I love watching videos where ladies take their braids out, the wash routines but my favourite of all is the detangling videos. Oh my god they're satisfying to watch, especially when the hair is all detangled and the brush just glides through and the curls just bounce right back. Love those. Plus the braids look super pretty. Not to mention you guys are gorgeous as well!! You're very beautiful. I've seen comments of black women joke about getting biceps from all that hair care lol and yours look AMAAAAAZING!!! ❤️❤️But really liked this video. I wish someone would let me take out their braids especially those teeny tiny ones. ❤️❤️

Myrna J: Notification Squad!!❤‍♀️ Love the whole method definitely sharing this with my Sister who has braids.

Kimberly Avalos: Yes!!! Definitely an internal struggle I’ve had. I think box braids are beautiful! I’m Latina and I braid my own hair and everyone loves it! But I’ve wanted to venture out of just French/Dutch braids. Definitely not trying to cause any cultural appropriation though... either way, all curly hair is beautiful

Jessica Jane: Thank you for addressing the cultural appropriation issue! I’m white as they come and I have long ginger hair, and I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try a perm to get curls like yours, and box braids. I’ve asked lots of people, most say it’s just a hairstyle and I’d rock it, but some have said they’d be really offended because it’s their culture. I want to be respectful but I also want to have fun with my hair and try new styles! Your curls are AMAZING

Courtney Richmond: I had box braids for less than 24 hours. I was not expecting them to be as heavy as they were. I couldn't hang with the weight of the excess hair.

Tabitha Martinez: I am Hispanic and I have curly hair, I get braids when I need to keep myself from straightening my hair. I say if you have curly hair, go for it. If you have straight hair, be cautious because depending on the texture you can damage your hair

Tiarra B.: Thanks so much for this video! I currently have box braids in and I’m kinda getting over them, BUT, I’m in a weird phase with my natural curls. I’m desperately seeking low maintenance styles that I don’t have to spend a lot of time doing everyday. Do you have any suggestion on what I could try? I basically have 4C curls and my hair is almost shoulder length stretched.

Nyah Moore: I’m getting box braids soon and this will help me so thank u❤️

Melanie Sharp: Your hair is simply beautiful and your curls are gorgeous xxxx

Mermaid Rhonda: I liked the braids, but it's good to see your beautiful curls again!

Yahaira Ayala: I’ve had braids done (Hispanic) by my roommate who had absolutely lovely braids and was really good at it. I personally loved them but I’m tender headed and could not handle them for more than a week. I feel like it’s your hair you do you. I wanted them because I thought and still do think that they are Gorgeous. I always admired her hair and so after much begging and pleading she did them for me. I think hair is personal and the decision should be made by the person not the race. Beauty comes in all races and I (me personally) love what different cultures do to make themselves feel good. Hugs

Captain Bazler: I love her braided hair and her natural hair! Definitely subscribing

Γωγώ Κατσαρού: Also love the braids on you they look beautiful!

Leijaira Berry: Lol I've never in my life heard of braiding going that quickly! My mom, grandma or cousins always did it so that mess took 18+ hours and they went ALL DAY LONG

Just Commenting: I feel like anyone can do any style as long they are respectful for it and do their research on it to really know where did it came from and why it was done, and as long as you have the understanding and appreciation I don't see any problems with sharing styles with different people from different countries/ethnicities :)

Sha-Niyah Ortiz: It happened to me last year when I got crotchet braids for the first time. I can’t remember exactly what brand it was (sorry ), but I only had the braids in for 3 DAYS. The itching is caused by the Alkaline coding that’s on the outside of the hair and you’re supposed to soak the hair in Apple Cider Vinegar before installation (which is honestly way to much work). Once I took them down my scalp was physically red and painfully sore for days. The “itching” effect means your scalp is allergic too that specific hair. Apparently it’s only irritating for some people because my sister ended up re-using the hair and thankfully she wasn’t allergic to it.

Stephanie Glover: There’s a difference between appropriation and appreciation. Tina tried it just made a video about this.

Fightergirl357: Heyyy!! An awesome video on my actual birthday!! Yesterday was crazy but now I can finally deep condition, sit, and drink coffee with a Bianca video ☺☕

Elizabeth Yoseph: Thanks Bianca! I learn a lot from your videos and I was also planning to get braids having 3b hair but I get told that my hair is too long, what would you say about that?

TheSkyisRising11: I wouldn't mind you getting protective styles more often! I like seeing the products and upkeep process because I struggled with that after getting braids for the first time in my life! I think you would look very pretty with Senegalese twists as well!

CurlyV SeedStar: Now I can watch you again don't take me wrong but your real hair is soooo beautiful that I didn't understand but it is your hair so... Welcome back ❤ your curls look AMAZING beautiful. I'm tender headed I had them done once in my 42 years of life and I took them off in 2 days!!!! too painful

Naomi Gaigneur: i love curls They are So cute! And Question ; how long does it take you to get them out?

Emily Andro: Everyone can do braids regardless their ethnicity

Jacob -: We both took out ours braids today I took out my corn rows today what a coincidence

Curly Yoshi Vibes: I love Curl Talk!! It is amazing!

LadyIronTiger: Hi Bianca! I know I’m SUPER late to the party, but I never watched your braid videos because it wasn’t until recently I even considered getting them for myself. I am biracial (black/Jewish) and I asked myself this question regarding getting braids—it’s a little more than cosmetic. Even though, yes, I am 50% black and I do have some phenotypical “black” features, I am lighter skinned. Black people pretty much know instantly that I am mixed. I don’t care at all about offending white people by having braids. I care about offending black people—especially black women. It has been made clear to me, and rightly so, that there are a number of “black spaces” in which I am not welcome being lighter skinned. Also, I realize that I experience a level of privilege as a light-skinned black woman. The fact that I personally think that the perception of the privilege far outweighs the reality is completely moot because, again, the perception is there regardless. Historically, hair is such a huge marker of privilege, which is why I’m really tried to look at it from all angles. While I am not light enough to “pass” per se, depending on what I do with my hair, I can appear more “white” (read:non threatening to white people). As you can see from my profile picture, I wear my natural curls, but I didn’t always. My choice to stop straightening my hair (in 2009) was less political and more practical, but I’d be an idiot not to have recognized the ensuing political ramifications nonetheless. I know that I *can* do whatever I want. It’s a free country. And being black *is* part of my identity (unlike other famous cultural appropriators). But knowing if I *can* do something versus if I *should* do something are two different things. So my quandary stemmed from all of that. Knowing there is a certain prevailing cultural perception of light-skinned black women essentially overstepping into spaces where they don’t really belong, would it seem insensitive of me to get braids? I did a lot of soul-searching and asked a few black women in my life who are unbiased and they agreed that it wasn’t. I’m getting my first set next week. I’m still glad that I thought about it, though.

가시케이틀린: I agree all the way we should never judge on people ethnicity it is not how we are told in today’s society. We should respect everyone on what people do with their OWN hair. I wouldn’t mind personally because I think everyone is pretty in every way

sakin heart: It is really bounding time when you do braids.. that's how I felt watching this video. I enjoyed your talk

Izzy Phoenix: Thanks for the video! It's really helpful! Love you

Jennifer Aguirre: I think box braids sooo pretty :o I love it so much and think it looks so classy. I’m always so jealous how nice it looks. I have 2A hair super tender head haha. I don’t know if I could do it my head hurts just with a pony tail ‍♀️

haha haha haha: I have stick straight hair, but I enjoyed every moment of this video ❤️

ohitsmelissa: Thanks for all the info on braids, they look amazing on you and others but I'm scared to try it, and I'm also impatient , but more so about the pain, hopefully I will try it one day

Alyssa Parrott: You're so beautiful with your natural hair!!!!!

avdize: Heh...that first question is VERY relatable My first time getting braids were like the first 1-3 days/day my head was stiff like StiFf Edit: you should never be afraid to do a beautiful hairstyle. This is s free country. No matter what race. :3

naya: TIP: *If your braids itch mix apple cider vinegar with water and spray it on the itchy area* TIP 2: *Buy sulfur 8, I believe you can get it at Walmart. But most local beauty stores have it*

Bailey Fourte': I agree with the comment when you said don’t braid the edges because last time I got box braids and the braider braided the edges and the braid literally fell out and my real hair came out with it. Luckily my edges grew back. But I definitely recommend to not get the edges braided. I love the video btw

chow mein: Im latina/hispanic. More specifically from Puerto Rico. And we range from blinding to dark as night skin tones (matching a good foundation is a true nightmare most times) and you’ll see natural pin straight hair girls and guys that are dark skinned, and 4c type hair on the lightest of skin tones. So i say its all in the comfort of your roots. Braids are very common in PR because we are generally connected to tainos, spaniards, and africans and the weather most times is unkind to curls, so most times some prefer the low maintenance of braids. We also have a big population of dominicans that have also boosted the braid trend. So we believe if you want braids then get them.

Rochelle Naturally: You say don't freak out ... that's exactly what I would do freak the freak OUT!!! But I would get over it. I'm still going to give braids or twists a try this summer. Thanks for the Q&A, verrry informative. It's you, it's really you, lol, Love your curls!!

RaDiO_monster1324: I usually detangle before washing my hair and detangle my hair again while conditioning as well. Don't know if that'll make your routine after taking out braids better. Loved the video and the questions.

Craig McGowan: Thought your blonde box braids looked really pretty on you then i saw your beautiful natural curls and I just wanted to compliment you on your stunning hair and to tell you how gorgeous you are. Also just wanted your opinion on the Deva Curl products?

Nichole Garcia: I wear my hair in wool dreads which is similar to braids and wearing these helps my avoid my horrible temptations to dye my hair constantly lol

Desiree Vielle: Lmaoo when she almost fell out her chair I LOVEEEE YOUUUU BIANCA YOU ARE AMAZING!! Such good vibes I literally watch you and put my TV on mute ‍♀️

Fallen Angel Rose: I've been thinking about getting braids for years now. It used to be because I thought they were beautiful, which I still think that, but in the past 5 years I've done a lot of chemical damage to my hair and having them exposed to the elements isn't helping me at all. I've over bleached my hair in the past which has left my ends extremely brittle, I can tell from my roots that my hairs been growing but its just not getting any longer because it keeps breaking from all the damage I did in high school.

Jessica Feuerstein: My hair ranges from a 3a-3c, it's very thick and course. I've been researching into braids as a protective style for over a year. Should I go for it even though I'm technically Caucasian. My family is a mix from everywhere. Opinions?

kanique pinkney-melendez: watching this vid low-key makes me wanna take out my braids so bad but I know in my heart I shouldn't❤ IT'S TOO SOON!! I just miss my curly hair tho

GeeGee _: Im a very white Hispanic with type 3b/3c hair and currently transitioning from a relaxer. I did braids on myself 2 weeks ago and was hesitant. I very much love them and haven’t gotten negative comments. That’s without me telling someone it’s for protective purposes. Comes to show, people don’t care. You just gotta know how to carry yourself accordingly.

Samantha Gould: I've always LOVED braids! As a kid, I wanted a look like this (but all brunette), so my Mom took me to get my hair braided at a salon. I got five short braids for summer camp, which wasn't the look I wanted, but by the end of that week at camp, the entire cabin of girls I stayed with had braided hair. Braids, like curls, definitely create community! I don't know if I'll ever be brave enough to get real braids as a German-Irish-etc. woman (really, it's my cheap-ness that will probably win out, not my heritage ), but I do find them so beautiful! Thank you for sharing, Bianca!

Tatyanna Hayward: I used Bobbi Boss but it ALWAYS tangled during the installment process so I started using Xpressions hair. They are long, but lightweight and doesn’t get tangled. And box braids can last 3 months no longer. Any thing else like lemonade braids, cornrows, 2-3 weeks max.

Bec Here: You’re braids are beautiful:)!

Jei May: So I’m Filipino/Samoan and adopted. I use to rock braids constantly because I grew up hating my curls. They were hard to deal with, no one in my adopted family knew anything about how to care for my hair, and my friends always got relaxers or had naturally straight hair. So I started going with my best friend when her mom would take her to get her relaxer done and get my hair braided....for me, I’ve never really had a problem with it because it’s just been something I’ve always done or seen. But I 100% understand the viewpoint of it being cultural appropriation. With my husband’s family, as well as my best friend’s family, and being the “different” one in my own family you view the world differently than others that have a different privilege, and I would say if it looks good, if it makes you happy, and if you recognize, understand, and appreciate the culture behind the style, do you boo boo!!

Janelle Bailey: just a note that protective styles that add hair can be damaging if you get them too often or too tight.

Isabella Goodlander: I believe as long as you pay homage to the history of braids it should be okay. Don’t just go out and get braids because “oh we can do it too” type of attitude. Respect the fact that African American women went through hell and back and they deserve credit for inventing braids ❤️

Hayden Kat: i can’t say much about braids bc i’m a white person but i did braids on my hair and i absolutely loved them! it was very comfortable and easy to whip up a quick hairstyle i did them my self but didn’t do the best job at it would definitely get it professionally done. i would very much recommend! i will definitely have braids in my hair more!

Randi Russell: OKAY SO I can answer some questions as well for the other side of the United states for anyone looking lol. It costs my little sister about $285 + tip for butt length microbraids. She uses microbraids because box braids were too heavy for her hair and pulled a few spots out and sidnt quite give her a bald spot, but she had to wait for it to grow back before she could get them again. It takes about 9 hours for us with 2 or 3 people working on her hair. It takes us 2 hours to get to the closest place that will do braids, so in total, it's a 13 hour day.

truly_troyonna: Literally just saw your Instagram and was waiting for the post! Hey Bianca! Love you! ❤️

Queen Ysn: I’m Mexican and I got braids and they looked so good on me and I got a lot of compliments

Jae Trujillo: LOVE your curls

Jae Trujillo: LOVE your curls

Myah Andrews: Respect where the hair style comes from and if your hair is strong enough do it. Straighten, box braid, goddess braid, dye it blonde, pink, green. Whatever y’all like. It’s your hair but just be respectful.

Bobbie Taylor: I've definitely wondered about being white and getting braids. My son is mixed and is getting to the age where his hair can finally be braided and styled as his curls are beginning to come in.. I'm also expecting a little girl very soon. I understand her hair is going to need to be styled and protected as well when her hair begins to get curly and long enough. I'm learning the history and reasoning for protective styles from my husband's mother. She's also teaching me how to do it.. cornrows, box braids, wig installs and proper moisturizing. My hair type is 3B and I've always been so tired of doing the basic 2 french braid every 3 days. I want something to keep my hair styled and protected for a longer amount of time since these (soon to be) 2 kids' haircare and my husband's CONSTANT retwists keep me on my toes and with no time for my own hair care.. Now once my daughter is old enough to get styles, would it be wrong for me to get them as well? Is it inappropriate even though I'm white but have learned the history and appreciate experiencing different aspect of my families culture?

Emilie: it makes me so so happy to see all the positive vibes about white people can wear braids swell. I'm a little white girl and i'm a dread model, some people hate me for it, other people love it. You should just do you and enjoy life in my opinion. But thats just me. Thank you guys for the positive vibes, and letting me know that there are still open minded people out there hahah

Jessica Harris: I'm mixed with curly hair, I also do hair. You can do whatever you want with YOUR HAIR. It is harder to braid " silky" hair for me anyway.

Samantha Lynn: Watching this was so aesthetic

chicagogirl1114: OMGGGG I just found your YouTube channel and I now love my name we are both named Bianca!!!! You are so pretty and cool so thanks for making me love my name

MsEileen1020: Love your videos. I have no interest in getting braids but had to watch your whole video lol. I am Puerto Rican and I would get braids.

Alandra McDonald: I think it doesnt matter where the hair style comes from. As long as you and other people appreciate where they originated and dont go around acting and saying dumb shit then I think everyone can do all hair styles, but this current world have sensitive people and people that like causing trouble on purpose. So I guess if the right people do the right thing it's all good.

Ruth Watson: Oh those curls are so gorgeous I am jealous.

isa: I'm biracial and just had faux locs. I have kinky curly hair, and visibly I look Middle Eastern. I usually get compliments. I think anyone can wear braids but give credit where its due and don't try and reinvent it lol.

Dominique Perry: That anti inch serum is freaking amazing.

Dayna Johnson: Love your hair! Love love your shirt!

Taylee Anna Jones: Two weeks ago I did my hair in box braids. I am having a lot of itch and some friz. I am really scared to wash my braids incase of slipping and I have my first high school winter formal this Friday. Is there any advice you could give?

Katelyn Pratt: When u don’t have braids, but watching this is just so satisfying

i am irey: I got box braids for the first time and i did them myself im not gonna say they came out perfect but if you are doing them yourself add gel to your actual hair and a leave in conditioner my mistake wasnt putting as much as i should of I used sassy kanelekon hair and its really good. I also recommend for it to be easier on yourself to put leave in conditioner on the hair i know it sounds iffy but it works makes the braids slicker shinier and non-itchy and easier to braid.

Deborah Jimenez: In my opinion anyone can get braids no matter the ethnicity. Its a beautiful thing that others want to appreciate where braids originally came from and replicate it on themselves!

Claire Stevenson: Your curls are beautiful hunny xx

Elsh: I am African specifically Ethiopian I have never gotten extensions in my life I do braid my hair just without the extensions. I don't think that it is dis respectful for other ethnicities to get braids because as long as they respect the culture it is fine. After all we are just the same people. Also in Ethiopia braids are much more and mean much more cheaper. They are a 100 USD (converted) at most. But I guess it is because a lot of people don't where braids here in Ethiopia even though other Africans do.

mr753214: I’m a white male and I make and wear faux dreads. I feel if you understand the past and understand the meaning behind it all there’s no problem. I’ve worn braids. Genie locs. Faux locs are my favorite lol, but when asked by anyone I respectfully respond and that’s it it’s done.

S. J.: How was that wet shower hair demonstration again. I love your tutorials. I just did my own faux locs and they've been in for about a month, I think they would look so cute on you.
