Hi guys, my name is natasha and welcome to my channel today, i'm going to show you how i do knotless braids on myself, using several tips that i've learned throughout the years to make them extremely neat, lightweight and natural. Looking in this video i'll be showing how i prep my hair for braids how to part with precision my unique knotless braiding technique, which products to use and ultimately how to save 300 on this hairstyle? Okay. So this is what i'm going to be using to straighten my hair. It'S a straightening comb from teemo. They sent it to me a couple of weeks ago, so i'm super excited to try it honestly. Personally, i would not buy this, i'm just being honest because i i feel like this would not work on my texture. So that's the only reason i haven't got it, but my sister used it the other day and she said it worked amazing on her hair and we have really similar textures. So we got ta see this thing talking about. Oh, it came with a little detangling brush too cute and then the only tips that i've really gotten so far. It works best on detangled, hair and dry hair. So i'll, try and brush it out a little bit. The brush works pretty good too. This is convenient. Actually, this is very convenient. I keep trying to skip the detangling and i think i can get away with it and then i get to the end, and i realize i didn't get away with it. So that's a tip, i can say, detangle your hair. Oh, i just remembered it comes with a glove. Oh, this is nice, so i'm thinking with the glove it'll move a lot faster because my hair won't be like hot to the touch. So we'll see. Also, it's really nice that this part's, not hot, because i can like put it on my face - you know and get really close. So this is the side that's straight, and then this is the side. That'S curly! I'M very satisfied though this is. This is more than enough straightening. I need for braids so, but i would i would consider just using this to straighten my hair. I like it i'm pleased it's cute and it got this straight from this. So i retract my last statement: if i had tried like a friends or something, and that like i saw it, worked like this, i would definitely buy it. So this is nice. I just i always see girls with very loose textures trying it out. So i'm like. Okay, that's not gon na work on on this, but it does and i like it. Oh again, i also got really curious. I was just wondering like why i haven't seen you know more videos on it and apparently this brush works on all types of hair. Not just wavy textures like i thought before, but it actually works on my type very well as you can see, and i've also seen videos on like the thickest type of 4c hair. So, if you're interested and if it will work for you, i would suggest just looking up videos of your exact hair texture and then seeing it, because if i would have done that, i would have bought it myself. I had just only seen people with like wavy or loose curls using it. She did what she had to do here, though yeah this is nice, so the one con with this is that if you don't detangle your hair before it can end up like pulling out your strands so just keep in mind. This is a straightening comb, not a detangling comb, so don't get too comfortable trust me. I did, and i was quickly humbled because it started pulling out my hair, so detangle your hair and it comes with its own detangler, so you literally have no excuse. I have no excuse this. Is me, don't be like me all in all, though this was awesome. I like it. The glove, definitely helped. You know just like move it along faster, so i could hold the pieces that were hot and i think it would have taken me twice as long to get these results if i use the blow dryer or just a plain flat iron. So i like it, i like it, i like it, i would use it again. I would buy it too, but this is perfect. This is just as straight as i need it to go ahead and start braiding, my hair, so now that my hair is flat and ready to be braided, i'm just going to make things a lot easier for myself by parting it first i use a rat tail Comb with a metal point on the ends to get the parts just as precise as possible, and i watch what i'm doing through the reflection in the mirror behind me. It'S very important that i take my time on these parts since they're, going to be extra noticeable and with knotless braids attention to detail is really what makes the difference in quality once i part a section, and it looks perfectly straight - i just put it in a Rubber band to keep the hair out of the way, and then i start parting, another large section on top of it until the back of my head is covered, and now that my hair is already pre-sectioned, it should go by a lot faster, because i can just Part it as i go and knock a section out at a time. So these are the first two sections that i braided and now that i have my system down, i'm going to show you up close exactly how i feed in the hair to make the braids look as flat as possible. So there are a couple steps that i do out of the ordinary just to make my braids extra flat, and the first step that i do is feed in the braiding hair. Only after i've braided my natural hair down about an inch and a half away from my head. The second step is to feed in several tiny pieces, the smaller the piece that you feed in the less noticeable. It is so you don't want to take shortcuts or get lazy, because it will definitely show constantly picking up. Hair pieces can definitely get tedious. So a helpful tip that i use to speed up the process is just setting up the braiding hair on a counter or a cabinet like this, so that i can just easily grab and go so again. I braid my natural hair down about six or seven times. Take a small piece of hair and place it behind the braid, since i'm braiding underhand. I attach those sections on the outside add a little bit of edge control and then braid it down a few times before adding in another piece for each braid. I add about six strands of hair, then braid the rest of it down and trim any loose hairs that may stick out at the end. This is the final look of the braid and, as you can see, following those two steps of braiding, your natural hair down. First and then adding multiple small pieces makes the transition invisible and keeps your braids as light and natural looking as possible. These are micro braids, which are the smallest i've ever done knotless. So, if you're having a hard time, you know seeing what my fingers are doing. I have a beginner friendly tutorial on my channel that shows two different feeded methods in detail, so if this is your first time learning how to feed in hair, that would be a great place to start. So again i add a piece of hair from the back hold the outside pieces together and then continue braiding down before adding in another piece. Okay, so here's what i finished yesterday these and then today, i'm going to finish this row here and then i'll probably split. This one in two or i don't know we'll just figure out when we get there, so this is my first time straightening my hair before braiding - and this is this - is game changer. I feel, like my braids, have never looked this flat um in any of the other videos i've done or even on clients like when i braid their hair. I don't know i just i have never seen braids like this, so straighten your hair. First, that's the key. It'S looking good, i don't think that's small enough, i don't know. Actually, no, i think, that's too big yeah, that's too big, so i can't figure out how to part it in the middle without it looking just like weird and lopsided, so i'm gon na do something different this time and just do a side part and i've never Done that before first time for everything, though someone's got to do it, so i'm going to make this my part and then just braid all of these sideways, i think that'll be cute. It better be cute, we'll see also as i get to the top to make everything look more perfect and precise. I part everything with a little toothpick to make sure that it's like perfectly straight down to the hair. Okay, so now that i finished actually braiding the last two steps are just to set my natural hair, that's on top and then dip the ends in hot water. So normally i would use mousse, but this time i straighten my hair and mousse has water in it. So i don't want to make my hair frizzy or curly with mousse, so today i'm going to try this pump it up. Styling spritz. It says it freezes hair in place, so we'll see what this is talking about and then, while the top sets i'm going to dip my ends in my hot water. Also, i like to put a little bit of baby oil in my hot water um, because it makes my braids shiny and it like rubs off on my skin. It'S just great just trust me on this one, it's great and then the last step, as well as my daily routine, is to just oil, my scalp. So i use this hair growth oil by pull care organics, it's plant-based, 100 natural and every ingredient in it is directly related to hair growth. I started using it a year ago. The first time i had knotless braids - and i just noticed my hair - grew out a ton as long as i was remembering to use it daily. So this is key to making sure my hair grows out. My roots stay healthy and my new growth comes in fast, while it's in these braids and it's black owned and it's fema owned, so pool care organics and then the very last step that i do just to add shine to everything. And i really do this on all my hairstyles, like straight curly, braids everything. Is this high gloss top coat by not your mothers all right? So these are the final results and even though i planned to do a middle part, i really like how the side part turned out it's different. It'S classy and i've never tried it before so cheers to new things. Really quick. Just to answer some frequently asked questions from some of my other braiding videos. This is the third time doing these braids. On myself, i have a total of 55 braids on my head, but i only use less than one pack of hair, which should tell you how light it is. It took me a total of three days to finish the first of which i just spent parting, because that's the most difficult part about doing this style on yourself and then for upkeep. I just sleep in my scarf at night and then use only oil on my roots to avoid product buildup. If you enjoyed this tutorial and want to try it out for yourself, i would love to see pictures and you can send them to my curly hair page on instagram at curly.strands. Let me know if you have any extra questions in the comments and i'll leave links to all the products that i used in the description. Thank you again for watching and i'll see you in the next video

Tayah Price: These are THE cleanest knotless braids I’ve ever seen. You did that.

Amy: The quarantine will be over by the time I finish those braids.‍♀️

Caterina: No Natasha, i will not let you convince me to attempt braiding my hair again i tried following the knotless braids tutorial 4 months ago and boy... my heart still aches... i cried for 3 days in a row

Maya: This kinda made me feel confident to try them... but my lazy self would have seen my straight hair and left that as a style for a week .

Faith: Somebody on IG said that girls who can braid their own hair and make it look like they came out of a salon chair are really superior. I have to agree.

Zara: Yes I need to learn this asap cuz these salon people lying saying they can do knotless and overcharging folks but still doing knots smh I am over itttttttt let me take notes Thanks girl

Lovely Mukisa: This is honestly one of the best tutorials I’ve seen in a loooooong timmeee. You made it look so simple, and the zoom ins really helped.

Beatrice Chidi: Natasha! I’ve watched this video 3 times and finally did them! They’re so FLAT! Thank you!!

Cici: I did this a few months ago on a whim because I had a spare pack of hair and I LOVED IT. I was nervous because of my head shape but it looked beautiful on me. I am going to do it again today, sis you are a LIFE SAVER I LOVE YOU.

Brianna Inez: I’ve tried this twice on myself. My best knotless braids yet. I love how flat they lay! Definitely takes a little more time but at least parting is easier since I do it on straight hair as well

Nattalie Gordon: I’m here because I braided my own hair for the first time ever a week ago!!!!!! If I of all people can do it then it’s possible for ANYBODY!! I’m so proud rn, I can do my own knotless braids. ‍♀️

Body And Soul Yoga 333: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.❤️

SunQueen: Not sure which one I'm more impressed with...the straightening brush or your parts They both the bomb

LonnieB: I've been doing this method for years & people always ask me how it looks so real. Regular braiders add too much hair, it's just not practical or comfortable.

DaisiesandPandas: This is such a good idea for people with thin and fine hair if they absolutely want to use extensions. We are often trying to make our hair fuller not realising that making our fragile strands carry the weight and lengths of extensions that are several times bigger and longer than our own hair is thinning and breaking our hair further.

AngelicRosee: Yeah it’s a no for me on the straightening comb but omg the braids are flawless!!!! If I had the energy and patience I would do it lol my hair is too much

Icy Girl: I love how neat it looks and how you parted your hair, I struggle with parting my hair but your video kinda help me you did a great job❤️

Katrece Aka Special K: I’m so glad that I came across your channel I’m not a braid wearer but the neatness of your braids plus your beauty made me click on your video! My daughters and I have long curly hair but I will definitely be ordering the straightener plus the glisten up and thank you so much for sharing that growth hair oil ✅

INDIVIDUALLY TIMBERS: She’s braiding underhand (stated at 7:40) which also has a lot to do with the flatness. It basically means if it was connected to her scalp it would be a French braid vs overhand being a cornrow. I’m definitely trying it this way, look how flat it gets even in her jumbo video! Her goddess braid tutorial is overhand if you wanted to see what I was talking about.

Ladeeluc7: I absolutely love these braids. This is the width I have been searching years for!!!! Beautiful

Marie C: just finished my braids (yes, they were *even* smaller than hers). it’s my first time and this was the only video that helped! never paying again!

Tia: The only way I can get my partings to look any kind of decent is to have double mirrors...I was literally crying into my cornflakes before I realized I need eyes in the back of my head... you make it look so easy!

Manny Aroha: I’m inspired to try this! I’ve been missing my protective styling braids and this looks beginner friendly, might take me longer than three days though

October King: I love how you make it so easy.. thanks for the video.!!!

Natesha Felton: I WISH I had these skills. My hair is similar to hers so I live seeing my texture with these protective styles. Some styles don’t work well for me, but these are DOPE!

Taonga Ngulube: I tried your method only once and I got it right, thank you for making it so easy. I couldn't do box braids to save my life before this

Antoila80: This is beautiful - thank you. I wonder if anyone please knows how it would look like if you work out often? Would the straightened part revert and shrink up, especially if your hair is kinkier/curlier? Or does the weight of the braid, albeit light, somehow stretch the hair down until you take out the braids? Thanks again - everything about your video is beautiful.

TheWayOf Cailinn: I'm so in love with this hairstyle. So neat. I already know when I get back from deployment they're gonna quarantine us for 2 weeks. I havent put heat on my hair in so long. But that gives me two weeks to stretch my hair with no heat and then do my hair

Nefer Persona: Awesome job. This will work great for fine hair. Self installation of knotless braids are not for the weak, I know that from experience. Keep up the good work.
