Hi, I'm Robin Lee Harmon with tangerine dream beauty bar today, we're going over our looks for prom we've just finished, modifying the first look and we've combed that out and now we're gon na go into our third look, which is a down style for curly hair. You need a comb, a curling iron and bobby pins. What you want to use is a nice curling iron. It could be an inch, it could be an inch and a half barrel size and the product that we're going to use is a very strong gel being because Carla's hair is very straight. You can use a softer gel if you already have a little bit of curl in your hair, but today we're going to use something very strong. Just to make sure we lock that curl in and I like to start in the front, and you want to grab the section to be the same width as your curling iron. You don't want to have too thick of a section and it's not necessary to have too thin of a section either and you're going to spray it with your setting gel comb it through and then you're going to start your first curl and be careful as not To burn your fingers and then once you've gotten that curl, you want to go ahead and pin it into place, and what that does is it has time to cool off which helps to lock the curl in as well? It'S almost like using curling hot curlers. You put them in your hair when they're hot and they stay in there and they cool off it's the same concept, except we're just doing what, with a curling iron to know when an iron is ready, when your hair is ready, is where the clamp is. That'S the hair, you want to feel the heat and when you start feeling that heat come through, that's when your curl is ready, so we're working on our last piece of hair. We'Ve continued everything curling downward from the middle section to the sides, everything just curls down. So we're spraying or setting gel and then we'll twirl that around her fingers and and so from here. What you want to do is let your hair cool off and that will set the curl. So now what we're going to do is take the curls down and you can start in the back it's easier to take them down from the back, because if you start at the top, those top hairs hang over these and kind of get in the way. So just start from the bottom and don't manipulate the curl too much at this time just go ahead and just release them. So this is the curl that we've achieved from our curling iron set and now what we're going to do is we're going to go into our final look, the styling process to watch the other segments in this video series or for how-to videos on almost any other Topic visit, monkey-see dot-com

Ashley Crane: To everyone saying that this look is ugly, this is not the final look. This is called a thermal roller set and to achieve the final look you'd perform a comb out. Which is simply combing out the curls into looser curls and backcountry areas to create volume so it doesn't look like that. I'm in beauty school and recently finished all of those

Victoria Gonzalez: the hair is unfinished. the curls are supposed to be lightly combed or fingered through so it looks seamless. you never want to spray fine hair like that because you risk burning the hair or damaging it. but the actual curl techniques and cooling was correct.

ItsMizzy: this wasnt too much of a good vid...she seemed too rough on the clients head, she should have used a smaller curling iron because all the big one will do is create a wave and the vid is about curling the hair...also when removing the clips she should have removed them carefully to avoid frizz..the hairstyle looks like it would be nice just not for prom.
