Slick Side Part Bun Tutorial For Short Curly Hair

The things i just did with three inches of hair and some gel. So today we're doing the hairstyle that you guys seen thumbnail, obviously i'm starting it off raw. If you're looking for the long, you know natural hair version of this hairstyle. I have that video already posted that i did like a year ago before i cut all my hair off, so you guys can go watch that version of the video down below, but it's 20 20 and this year, big crazy. So i'm pretty sure by the end of 2020, we all kind of cut our hair off. It'S for the ball headed baddie edition. Okay, this is what i'm working with my hair. Don'T look like this, obviously, when it's wet, but it wasn't a bun. I look crazy, but you know what y'all not gon na say that when i be styling and profiling with my swoop girl, and if you think this is like one of the tutorials, where i tell you guys first thing: you'll need is this next, you will need This you're wrong, because you know what, if i'm struggling, i'm going to struggle together, yeah i'm not going to make it seem like it's a super easy thing to do before you even start the hairstyle and you go on your little beauty supply run. I'M gon na tell you that you need a big bucket of gel gon na, be your best friend and a water bottle which mine is actually empty, so i got ta go fill it up right now in one video, some girls said that is not a water Bottle, that's a cleaning bottle girl. If i paid for this bottle, it's whatever i want it to be, it could be the fountain of youth. If i wanted it to be, i look like george washington every time, so i want to make a disclaimer in that picture. That you guys had hairstyling, i did flat iron, the school part, but after i flat ironed it. I realized that i really didn't need to do that, and it was a waste of my time, we're not going to add heat to our hair. If you really need to add heat to your hair, to get this hairstyle then do that. The first thing you want to do is make your butt, but before you make your bun, you want to section off the front of your hair. Do not make the mistake of putting way too much hair set aside for your swoop, because your hair will not lay down and it will look crazy if you add a whole bunch here. Trust me. I do that, and i end up having to redo my bun and put hair back in my bun, because i put way too much hair out in the front. My hair was just like in a slick back for two days. It looks like blown out okay. I think this is good enough. Now, i'm basically going to section my hair and detangling i'm going to speed up this part, because y'all know how to just glue your hair. Everybody'S hair is different to the tangle. The more detangled your hair is the less crazy. Your bun will look, especially in the back, so just make it easy for yourself and just detangle it the best you can my sections to detangle. My hair is not going to be neat because i care, but i don't care that much. This is about to hurt. Not me choking on my own fit now, i'm just brushing it up, so i could form the bun, because when i was detangling it i was detangling it down. Now i'm trying to detangle it upwards. The back is always the hardest to make look good, because the back is just so thick. I also remember that we don't have straight fine hair, so it's not gon na be perfect. Okay, my arm is getting so hard. I can feel that it's not like perfectly smooth in the back, but honestly, i could feel that i'm not carrying that. It'S not perfectly smoothing back now, i'm just adding my eco style gel and this hair tie sucks. If you have thick hair, i recommend you getting the headband hair ties, i'm done with my bun, i'm going to add my tracks in to make my bun look, how i want it to look, but for right now we're just gon na make a tiny little button. So that we're able to add our tracks now we have to do the smooth. Are you ready, because i'm not so obviously you're gon na need gel you're, not gon na really need water, because if i put water then my hair is gon na shrink right here. Water is what i want to stay away from we're going to act like this part is straightened and not put water on it. Last time i did this. My hair was straight, so it was easier to use my wax stick to like the hair down you're. Also going to need some got to be sprayed because if you want to wrap your hair up at night and if you just want the hair to go where you want it to go and stay there, you need this. Okay, you need this. So first i'm just going to comb out my bang as of right now i look like a bird from rio. I'M going to take my wax stick, so i put a lot of wax on my hair just now, but i did that just to flatten it out. So i could mold it so, as you can see, i'm just molding it holding it here as i'm pressing it down. Think of this as like a big edge like you're, just doing your edges and it's just a big edge. You know how, when you're, trying to get the perfect spoon for your edges, you basically just hold the swoop down and then keep going. Y'All know what i'm talking about you're, just basically trying to mold it and you're gon na just hold it down as you're holding the rest of it. I feel like i'm, showing you better than i'm telling you how to do it. So that's why i'm trying to shut up okay, so a lot of you guys are like how do you get the back of the hair into the bun? Now i don't know if other people know how to do this, but when i had long hair. Yes, i was able to get like the longest piece of my hair into my bun. Yes, but i don't have long hair anymore. So what other way am i supposed to get the hair to stay? I have to use bobby pins. Nobody'S gon na see you from the front like they're gon na see it from the side, but like you can even get cute pins to turn it into an accessory. Nobody should even be that close to you to where they see your pins, holding down your hair and if they is that close to, you tell them to social distance, because it's a swoop you're gon na have to pin it up kind of, and i'm gon na. Take gel because i haven't been using gel as you can see, i was just doing the wax stick which honestly works way better than gel, but the gel is gon na hold me down. So that's what i'm doing right now and then i'm going over this with this wave brush that i have that i stole from my grandpa. This is the same brush. I used in my last video for hairstyle, sorry, grandpa. Okay, i'm brushing it up. Honestly, i probably couldn't fit this into my bun a little bit now, i'm taking my pins and here's the part where you guys are going to find out. If i do this all over again, if you just mess it up, pinning it one time girl it's over. The trick to using bobby pins is literally to zig zag it in your hair so that they don't come out and they're not loose. If you zigzag it, it's like going into your scalp, not in a painful way, but it's just harder for them to come out. So i'm gon na add another pin in the opposite direction. Zigzag. My bun is a little bit bumpy at the top, so i'm gon na add another pin to kind of lay that down. So i'm just gon na spray, if there's bumps or cracks. What i do is i just take the back of my edge brush and it flattens it. And while i was doing like the swoop, the back of my hair kind of went crazy. So i'm just gon na put some spray and then preserve it, so we're just gon na wrap it because, like i said we're not gon na waste this time and effort that we did on this swoop, girl cause this took time. Boo, i'm not just gon na. Do one i'm gon na do two. I need this swoop to be secure, so now we're going to move on to the adding the button part, which is really the easiest part. Y'All know how to add tracks. So i'm going to show you guys how to do that. This is like the button that i always put like most of the hair. This track, like is real long and i actually cut most of it, but all you need is just like a track that matches whatever hair texture you want, but when it came in the pack, obviously it didn't look like you know more on the natural side, but After wearing it a couple times, it's gon na start to look like my hair, because it's gon na start getting messy and frizzy and stuff like that. So i just try to untangle my track. So this is the best i can do to untangle my little track or not my little. My long track um and it is what it is. I usually don't even untangle it as much the messier. It is the more realistic it looks, but this just ridiculous. What is this honey so how i first started to do it was i just fold my track in half and then i just attach a bobby pin to it. This is the easiest way to do it if you've never like attached tracks onto it, and then you just stick it on there. After it's secure, you literally just wrap it around and me when i start wrapping it around. I start forming my bun just twisting it around and at the same time, like i said, forming the bun. If you want like a skinnier bun, you just have to like squeeze it and add more hair at the top, and then i just add another track to make the bun more fuller. And you want to make sure if your track is showing you're just getting here. To cover it, and then i just tuck it in, and that is my bun - the swoop is still slick. The bun is done now we have to do our edges and i know i have long sideburns. I embrace them and long sideburns are actually like a trend. Now, when people do like lace fries, i see how the hairstylist will try to make their sideburns on their lace. Fronts look like this, which is crazy, because i used to get bullied from having long siberians i used to get bullied for them. So i used to like shave them off. It'S crazy! How stuff that you literally used to get like picked on is a trending in the back. I have like a lot of hair back here, so i just take my brush and i just let it be free and i curl it and then boomerang some baby. Isn'T it so cute? I know i got ta. Do glasses play one more time. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Like i said, y'all are gon na see me struggling in this tutorial because not every hairstyle was one two three easy, and sometimes it's harder to do. Hairstyles, when your hair is shorter and you got ta improvise, sometimes to get stuff to work for you. So trust me, if you are in the big chop process, where your hair is growing back and it's in phases where you want to do different hairstyles and you just don't know how to do them.
