How To Style: The Perfect Roller Set for Curly Hair

In this tutorial, I show you how to achieve glamorous and luxurious curls with both low heat and heat free techniques.

For those with straight and wavy hair or those with loose curls, pay close attention to the techniques I use in Roller Set #1. Using these tips will help you to achieve these perfect results first time round! Less time.....No Heat!!

If you are of a tight curl texture like me, then this tutorial is perfect for you! This technique is called the double roller set. Roller setting twice enables you to get a perfectly stretched and smoothed look with zero frizz.

There are several reasons why wet setting and roller setting are better for you hair than using a curling wand. The main being that setting the hair in a wet state provides longer lasting results and leaves the hair less likely to frizz and revert even in humid conditions!

Products I Used:

Leave In Conditioner - Mixed Chicks Leave In Conditioner

Serum - Organix Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum

Hi guys so today, I'm gon na be showing you the double Roller set for how to get big bouncy spiral. Roller set curls on tighter curls like mine. Now this style can be done with little to no heat. I'M going to show and explain to you throughout this tutorial how you can achieve that. I hope you enjoy. First of all, user leave-in then use a serum now this is the most important product. This is what makes the style it's the TIGI catwalk amplifier, and these are the little velcro rollers from Primark. So the first thing that we have to do is to prep the hair, so I'm just moving through the mix Chicks leave in. I didn't show you, but I've actually put a coconut oil over the top of that. I then go over my organic serum just to help with the shine and to make it a bit more sleek and then detangle make sure, there's absolutely no tangles in the hair. At all, otherwise, this is what works. Okay, you need freshy to tangled hair. Now what you want to do is you want to take a lastik band and you just gon na tie the root, and this just helps to smooth the hair and to help it lay flat, see hairs, not sticking up in every upward direction, and so yeah just Tie it secure it really really tight. As you see, I put it up and then keep the tangling now, the secret to this Roller set is literally in how tightly roll it. How talk the roller is. So, as you see, I've pulled the hair straight. I'Ve pulled it down and I'm just going over with the roller and I'm just taking them. Tico'S walk amplifier spreading out all throughout the hair. Now this is going to give us amazing, hold amazing definition, and it's going to keep a lot of the moisture in because it's quite thick as well. So as you see roll it up very tightly and then secure it with a crocodile clip. Now, when it comes to the front of the hair, make sure the rollers are smaller, so use larger rollers in the back for larger sections and at the front you roll smaller sections with the smaller rollers. Now. The reasons for this is that you want the front to be super super defined, because that's where all the focuses, so you don't any frizz, so I mean, even though obviously I've been quite careful with the hold of my hair, I really am taking a lot more Care with the front, because I want that to be a sleek as possible and all the rollers are in place now. Actually, if you've got a looser coach extra like a type 2 or type 3, a B, you may not even need to do a second Roller set. This first Roller set may be enough for you and as you'll see as I'm taking the rollers out now. Look how to find it has actually come out and quite sleek. The only reason I have two Roller set again is because I've got a tighter, 2co texture, so a lot of my hair doesn't actually want to go into the new roller slip wave pattern. But if you don't have as much resistance, if your hair's not as tight, then you could get away with just this one Roller set and, as you can see, look how well the front came out. So it definitely is possible to do in one go if you're slightly looser than I am. It could even work on tighter textures if you use smaller rollers, but personally for the more polished and boho. Look that I'm going for I'm going to need to run a set twice, so you can do this the next day, which is what I did or you can just go straight to the Roller set from here and now. Ladies, we are going in for round two. So I'm going to take some argan oil and my tikki curls Rock amplifier, and I'm just going to section my hair and I'm going to just distribute the argan oil and the amplifier. And then I'm going to put in my rollers. So I'm using heated, rollers fabulous, heated rollers and you don't have to use heated rollers if you want to use normal rollers, that's fine. What you have to do is just follow these steps to apply the oil and just detangle just brush that through gently, because the first rollers that have already stretched the hair. This is not going to be a hard step at all, so this will be a very, very simple step, whether you're using heat or not. So, as you see, distribute the argan oil and then you're going to put through the amplifier now, if you're, not using heat at this point after the amplifier spray in a bit of water, just to make your hair damp, then you brush through like this and then Go through with the normal velcro roller or perm rod, whatever you choose to use, and then you want to leave it to dry for a few hours and by the time you take it out, it will be the same results as what I'm doing right now. With my fabulous heated rollers, because the hair has already been stretched, you just need to allow it to wet, set and dry in that roller. In that curl state it will be sleek, it will be fine, but I am using heated rollers for convenience and I don't get to use these enough. I spend so much on them and I don't use them enough. So, as you see same technique here again tie the root, keep it smooth, distribute the product to tangle and roll tightly and then secure in place. Now repeat this process, all throughout the hair, as you've probably noticed, I'm using a lot less rollers than I did with the first roller set. That'S because again, the hair is already stretched. So a lot of the hard work has already been done. It'S pretty much similar to blowing your hair out and then using these rollers. Only it's less heat and the great thing about wet sets is that they tend to have longer lasting results. Then heat does at the front what you want to do with the bigger sections you use the bigger rollers, so I use the more towards the back, but as it comes to the front, the rollers always get smaller. So I don't know if you notice that in my first roll is there, but the rollers will always get smaller towards the front and especially because I want tighter more defined curls at the front as that's where most of my focus is going to be. So, as you see, products moved and prefer in rollers rolled in tightly so I'm just gon na take them out, and it's been about an hour. The heated rollers have cooled. My hair has dried from the styling products. If you haven't used any heat, you haven't used new heat rollers, like I said, allow this to sit for a few hours and then, by the time you take out the rollers. They will look exactly like this pull the band out gently. You don't want to disturb the great curl pattern you've got now. I don't know if you saw that, but I've still got a little bit of my natural texture at the top of the rolled section, and that is fine, because I rolled the top up tightly with smaller rollers. There is so much definition in the pieces that I'm taking out right now. They will cover the reversion, and you know I haven't. I mean the heated rollers aren't that hot I haven't really used heat so especially kinkier tighter textures they're very very hard to kind of put into another curl pattern. So it's okay, if you notice you've, got a little bit at the root. That'S fine because, like I said, I've already rolled the top very very tightly so that is going to cover all the mistakes, pretty much that I've made and actually I'm quite happy for the roots still being slightly afro in slightly tight, because it gives me so much Volume, you will see in a minute after I've taken all the rollers out and I've separated all the curls and now just individually separate all the curls and fluff them out, and it will look a little bit like this. Now you can see. I'Ve still got shrinkage because of my roots and I'm sick, because it's still curly, but I really really love this style. It was so easy to achieve, I'm so happy so bouncy and fluffy. A few weeks ago, I won a competition from Illamasqua and I wanted to see how the makeup would look with the rollers there and I loved it. Look in the description below to see the colors I used here, but I'm just going to keep everything neutral and natural fluff it out bounce it around. I am so happy with these results, so these are my results. On day 1, day, 2 day three and day four all I did was just sleep in a pineapple at night to maintain I'm putting a little bit of oil in the morning. Thank you so much for watching guys.
