Christina xx

Hi there I'm Christina from hero, Montcalm, and today's video is a hair tutorial request from Instagram and it's how to do space buns in curly hair. I'Ve got a couple of variations to show you, and I don't know if you saw my last video on space buns, but I prefer this style so much more and it's really easy, really quick and really fun. So, let's get started with all these styles start by parting. Your hair parting curls isn't easy and you don't to create threads. So don't aim for perfect straight parts. Just go with your curls next decide what layers you want to leave out. I like having a few curls, are on my face a bit of a 90s vibe, but you can skip this step if you want all your hair off your face now to create the bun, take a section of hair from your part to your left ear. I'M not taking a deep section as I want to leave a lot of hair out at the back, so you can just take the top layers. If you want more hair left out, I leave my hair loose, so it gives more volume and, with my right hand, hold where I want the bun to sit my left hand twists it around to create the bun with curls. I like to leave the ends out. As it looks cute, and so I adjust the bun until I'm happy with the proportions and then pin it in place with bobby pins, the pins help to anchor the bun, but they also can create the shape that you like. The next one is a bit harder. As you need to match the first one, it's a bit like doing winged eyeliner and it can take some adjusting like separating the same section of hair, isn't hard enough. I repeat the same steps for the button, but do keep checking in the mirror to make sure that you're happy with the placement and the size to make sure it matches your first button and that's it for the half up space buns. You can add some product and scrunch up your curls if you want them to be more defined, but you're ready to go ready for the classic space buns. Let'S go this time. Your part needs to go all the way down the middle, and so I try and navigate this line through my hair kind of without showing too much regrowth. Honestly, I don't worry about being precise in curly hairstyles, but if you really want to grab a tail comb to make a super neat path, if that is more, your style again decide what layers you want to leave out at the front, I'm just going for a Couple of pieces to this one and gather half your hair up into a high ponytail, instead of a regular elastic, I'm using one of my hair bungees, you hook this in and wrap it around your ponytail to secure it in place. You want it to sit, really tight and really high, then repeat: on the opposite side, the trick is just to make sure that your ponytails are level. I really do feel like a kid with this style now to create the buns don't twist too tightly as you want to keep the volume in your curls and adjust so that your curls are poking out at the back, embrace that mess and just have the ends Poking out then pin in place with bobby pins, then repeat on the opposite side, I twist off and over so that I know the enthalpy power underneath and then just grab a couple of bobby pins to pin in place tuck all those loose pieces around and check. In the mirror, just to make sure the buns are sitting fairly level, if you find any more loose pieces, just tuck them back into your space, buns and now go have fun in your cute hair. Now this variation sits low and it starts in the same way as the classic space. Buns split your hair into two equal sections, so we can do low pigtails pick out any curls. You want to leave loose at the front and I'm going to leave a little bit more out than I did with the high buns now to secure my hair, I'm using my hair bungees again I'll link them below with this low style. You want to see the buns at the side, but not in a full Princess, Leia way so position your pigtails low behind your ears, repeat on the opposite side, and double check that your pigtails a level as it's much easier to change and edit your style now Than when you're actually styling the buns to create the buns a little twist and wrap your hair around I'm using my favorite bobby pins to hold them in place when doing any style with curly or wavy hair. I really like to see the hair texture show through the style a trick to making your hair look. Thicker is to put the buns and fan it out. It makes it sit a little bit flatter as well now head out and have fun with your cute hairstyle, which was your favorite style. Is that the half-up buns, the high buns or the low space buns? Melissa Kilgore: I have followed your blog for years and often printed the instructions you posted to add to my hair style idea binder because our hair is very similar. I have noticed the posts has slowed down considerably and there's been nothing since March. Are you transitioning to posting mostly pics on Instagram and videos on you tube? I don't have an Instagram account and wondered if you were posting directions there now or not writing them out anymore. Thanks for the update! I LOVE your hair styling ideas! ♥
