Either I'm Christina from her romance comm today, I'm gon na do quickly one of my easiest tutorials and it's for this messy bun. You might have seen this hairstyle in quite a few of my Q & A videos because it's usually the hairstyle I'm wearing when I am just working from home running around errands. It'S super simple and I'll. Show you exactly what I do, but I also have some tips. If you hate the way your messy bun looks and how you can actually fix it to get that like and in like Instagram star messy bun. Alright, let's get started okay, so my first tip is actually to start with messy hair, and this is my curls probably about day three, I think and if you don't have a lot of texture in your hair, getting that like messy bun texture, if your hair's too Soft and slippery isn't really going to work, and so, if you have straight hair, I recommend adding in some waves before you do this style or sleeping with your hair when it's weird and waking up doing whatever it's doing that might work as well, but whatever it Is to start with your head is quite messy, and if your hair is too soft or quite fine and flat, I recommend using a texture spray to actually spray into your roots and give it a good shake. Dry. Shampoo will work quite well too. You want to just give you a hair, a little bit of grit and grip so that you're working with something to create that sort of use as a base for all that texture in the button. Okay. So now, with my hair, I am going - would normally flip over my head over spoke like upside down to do this, but I'll just show you on camera. What I'm, what I would do, but I like to put my messy bun right on top of my head and usually that's just easier with your head upside down or just try and get all of your hair to pile into your pony. Now I like to call this like a flip, but I guess all I need is an invisible and I love these because they don't leave a lot of marks in your hair. So if it's just a moment that I want to put my hair up and still take it down later, these work really well so holding your ponytail on top of your head. Just with one hand, you want to put your fingers through the elastic hold the base of your ponytail and then bring the elastic over the top twist it. So I've got it just all around my pony twist. It put my fingers forward and instead of flipping my ponytail back, I'm actually going to flip it forward so and I'm just going to take half my hair through the elastic. So you kind of left with this sort of weird shape on your head. Then I'm going to sort of fan that out and then just work out what I'm going to do with all the messy ends. So this is really going to vary depending on how long your hair is so with mine. I'Ve got some shorter layers here that are just going to be weird, so my tip for these layers here is to roll them around and tuck them just into the elastic at the back. So it kind of gives you that extra shape here just work to give you the sort of I like that sort of more of a rounded fan, and then, with these little end pieces you can either leave them all forward, maybe split them around wrap them around. The base of your bun, so you could wrap it around like this, so you don't see them or let me see what else do I like to do? I kind of like to do a mix of stuff, so it's kind of to see whatever my hip curls are doing. To be honest. There we go kind of you know, don't overthink it you're starting to overthink it yeah, I'm gon na. Take it the wrong way. Tuck the ends I'm and yeah kind of leave it like that, and I like to flip it forward, because then you get this little bit more interesting texture here at the front. I think that works pretty well, but a lot of people. This is my tip for getting that really good finish on a messy bun. You might have hair that, if you particularly if you've got fine hair or if, like me, you've had hair loss problems with thyroid and a lot of other stuff if you've got sort of thinner sections around the front here, bringing all your hair back into a high Bun it can make you feel a little bit self-conscious about your hairline, so not that you should be. But if you are here's a few things you can do. I like just to bring a few layers down. That would sort of help cover it, but the trick is makeup: go and get a matte eyeshadow, that's the same color as your hair and with a brush just fill in all these sections around the front here, and this works really well for braids as well, and Particularly on dark hair, where your scalp is a lot lighter that might show through sorry that's talking about people with fair skin and dark hair, where you'll notice that there's a difference, or it might be that you're. Just conscious of seeing your scalp showing through your hair, you need to be, but if that's so it's something that's worrying! You makeup is your super quick fix. I just get some match an eye shadow or a sort of any color that will match close to your hair and then you just brush it on such a good trick. There are some specific hair powders. I really do love the WoW hair powders, and but if you just want to do this on an occasion that you just working with what you've got at home, getting a matte eye shadow and popping it on with a brush - and you can just set it with A little bit of hairspray, and that is going to be your way just to get that really neat finish anywhere, that sort of pulling that you can see your scalp and that you want to cover up. That is a good way to do it, and so that's my flip forward I'll quickly show you again, if you just want to see it a little bit slower so getting all your hair up right into a high pony with your hair band around your wrist grab, The base of your pony and then use the other hand to bring that over your pony tail twist, fingers through and then just catch half your hair in that pony and then that you can then do whatever you want, but see every time it's gon na. Look a bit different, tuck the end back, just sort of pushing them in you might even use a bobby pin to do this if you prefer, if you want your site, if you want the hairstyle to sort of sit a little bit more evenly or a bit More solid but with curls my hair, just sort of stays where it wants. So it's a bit easy for me just to shove it and it will stay there, but a few bobby pins and can also work just to kind of hold that style down. If you find that your hair is too long and the loop is too high grabbing a bobby pin and then just pinning it down forward, so just grab your finger in there and just pin that section forward. That might help give you that sort of not such a high profile. If you don't really want like a really high bun, but you want it to be kind of flat and messy that's another way. You could do it and I'm also now going to show you my just regular, like back flip bone, starting in the same way with your elastic or of your wrist, hold the base of your ponytail over twist and slip, but instead of bringing your ponytail forward this Time we're going to let it go back, and I do the same thing I like to leave the ends out and then I'm still going to do the same thing where I'm either gon na fan this around, and I usually do like to pin this one because The messy part fits the messy pieces that are all at the back here, so I can just sort of let the end hang out there and then I might want to pin the bun a little bit forward or just leave it really. It'S up to you and exactly how you like to wear your messy bun, but I hope that trick about using makeup to kind of tidy up the hairline can work really well and thinking about flipping it forward or back depending on how your hair is and how Long, your hair is, you might find that perfect, messy bun you can do in two seconds and that you, like the look of remember if your hair isn't that messy. When you start dry, shampoo or texture, spray are going to give you that, like a little bit of extra body, to give you that big, messy bun you're. Looking for, if you're a big fan of the messy bun like me hit like and if you've got any tutorial requests or hair questions, let me know I look forward to chatting at my next. Video have fun with your hair and I'll see you soon bye. You

Pam Foreman: Thanks for this Christina. I’ve just tried this and it turned out great! I often wear my hair up but this technique has taken it to a whole new level! I just love your tips and tricks. I’ve learned such a lot from you. I get compliments all the time.

Beth Smith: Just discovered your channel and website, and I'm in love! My curly hair has been my forever nemesis. I have forever been trying to figure out how to style it, down or up. With very little success (that doesn't require hours of labor). So thank you. I can't wait to actually LIKE my hair :)

Linda Rosenthal: Thanks. Been trying to master this forever. My daughter does it perfectly but I struggle. Lol. Cheers

DIY Dealz: Hello Christina! Your step by step and trouble shooting were really helpful. I love your technique and I'm wearing it as I type. Simply beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! XOXO~Rashell

Lanie Mercier: OMG I’ve been trying to get that perfect « slightly messy but not too much » look for years! Just made it happen in 30 seconds! Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!!

Kim Pool Lover: I have the exact same hair as you! I’m sooooo happy I’ve found your channel. I’ve been wanting a change for a while now, I’ve kept my hair long for ages and I think I want to do the chop. Will be buying the products I’ve seen in another of your videos too☺️

nyla: Thank you! There’s not a lot of wavy/curly tutorials out there :)

Juliana Tanaputra: I always flip my hair back & I always fail in making a good bun. I just tried flipping it to the front & it is SO MUCH better! WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!? thanks so much for this tip

Monica M.: I love this hairstyle! I wear it all the time! Works great for when I don’t feel like refreshing or washing. The only problem is my stupid baby hairs. I have to wear a headband to cover them up. Lol Great video!

Katie Gilmore: I actually discovered this method while "pineapple-ing" my hair! Because my hair is so long I have to do this to keep it all up, and I've grown to love it so much because I can sleep on it and wear it the next day!

christina smith: Thank you . I had so many compliments. Stayed all night and all day. Still wearing it this way. Thanks again from Canada .

MonicaKM: makeup on hairline - brilliant. I never thought of that. I lost quite a bit of hair on my hairline in the last 2 years and it is something I notice a lot when i put my hair up. Thank you!

Tammie Powell: Very nice instruction; thanks for sharing!

Lisa B: Ohh just found my new quarantine work from home video chat worthy hair style! You curls are so gorgeous and healthy

Mia Clément: Such a great tutorial, Christina I don't have curly hair - mine is stick straight - but I'm sure that I'll be able to use these tips anyway I just cut about 25 cm off my hair so I have to start over, figuring out how to make it work the way I want it to

K Ham: Great tips as usual! I have thick, curly silver hair. Any ideas anyone for covering slight thin areas that show pink scalp? And please do a side pony tutorial.

Luz Vega: Your curls are amazing!

Megan Hyde: Do you have any tips for what i could do with the breakage i have in the front? When i put my hair up i have all these tiny hairs sticking up and cant figure out what to do with them.

Melinda Medeiros: Thank you so much!!! So helpful

Cheryl Anne: My hair isn't long enough to do this, and also I have invisibobble-phobia because I cannot get those suckers out of my hair without great hair loss. I found this new product online called the Puff-Cuff and it is the answer for me. It's like a round, hinged comb -- well, it is a round, hinged comb and you buy the size appropriate for the thickness of your ponytail. It's so easy for me, easy in AND easy out, and looks very cute. And gets my hair off my neck for summer. I make no money off of this, but I've tried and tried for that messy bun look, could not master it, and then found the Puff Cuff in an ad and now I'm so happy! For the more hair-challenged among us!

Cheri Kruger: I have been doing that for years! So easy.

Jennifer Woodby: This is embarrassing but I finally understand the messy bun technique. I wore my hair like this today and loved it! Thanks!

quixND: YOURE SO PRETTY AND YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY HOLYYY

Jeanne Snodgrass: Great hairstyle. I was happy to see Little My.

Ash Lynn:

Aesthetic_Lxvely1: Thx for nothing. I’ve been trying to do this for an hr and it didn’t work so

Ayla's singing studio: I feel like she curled her hair
