My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Hey guys welcome to a new video and in this one I'm going to show you five really cute and pretty simple to do hairstyles for really long hair. So this video is in collaboration with Bruce hair and I'm going to be using their hair extensions. Today I have this beautiful beautiful set. This is the 22 inch set in chocolate. Mousse is the color and the weight is 120 grams, and this is the set for a kind of finer thin. Your hair, which is perfect, because I often struggle with extensions just being super thick and just way too much for my real, pretty fine hair. So I'm going to be using these to achieve long, hair today, of course, if you have long hair on your own, then you can skip this step or you can apply some hair extensions. It'S your hair as well to get the desired length and folders to your hair. So let me just show you up close how beautifully shiny these are and they feel absolutely silky, smooth and soft. I have just one strip in my hand here and I'll. Just look how gorgeous that is. It is human hair. By the way, so you can do anything to you that you could do to normal hair clips on this set. Look like this, and I like that. This band feels really sturdy. It'S made of solid fabric. Usually these things are lace and they feel a little bit flimsy. These feel really really secure and the clips aren't actually securely as well. So that comes with these standard little snap Clips. So let's apply these. I am going to be applying the full set today and I'm gon na start really low on my head here. It'S all my hair City as long as possible and when I start from this load the hair actually reaches to my bun, which I think it's absolutely going to say. I wish my hair would grow that long, fortunately hasn't happened. I think it ever will, but luckily we have things like hair extensions to help us in it's perfect. Oh so long look, I can't even show you the bottom of this and you can see in the mirror just how long that is gorgeous FYI rue. The owner of Bruges hair has a YouTube channel as well, and she does some hair tutorials. So I will put a link to that YouTube channel as well as the website these store. You can buy the extensions in the description box below when I apply my hair extensions. I usually start with a smaller strip at the bottom, because obviously my hair line is just narrow it down there and then I slowly increase the width. The wires strips go around the center of my head and then towards the top I'll apply some smaller. Once again. Let'S give these a quick brush through, so all my extensions are in now and as gorgeous as these are straight for as much as I love just doing this. I always feel like when there's such a significant length difference between the natural hair and the extensions. They are just a little bit easier to blend when you gave them a little bit of texture, some curl. So I am going to curl my extensions today and it's also going to provide a really nice base for the hairstyle, so we're gon na. Do I'm going to be using this curling iron today, it's a tapered one, which is going to give me looser weight at the top and slightly tighter curls at the bottom. I always think that looks very pretty soft pull all my hair forward and the way I'm going to do this is I'm just going to start curling my hair, I'm not going to be too precise about this. Just that's a chunk of hair wrap it around the curling iron, pull it for a few seconds until it's heated through and through I'm wearing a heat resistant glove by the way to protect my hands, I'm gon na slide the hair off, pull it in my hands. For a few seconds just to give it the opportunity to cool down a little bit before I, then let go behind my back so that I know that I've already curled that Heron, I'm gon na just move on around the rest of my head. The same way and when I finish all of this side, I'm gon na move on to the other side and just do all of my hair. I'M going to be alternating directions. So I'm going to be curling both towards my face and away from my face and it's going to create a little bit more of a natural effect bit more wave variation. So I'm just gon na do this to all the hair off camera, then I'll, be back. Don'T you move on to the next step, Harris curl and you can already see it is much harder to tell where my own hair ease and where the extensions are so. I am going to run my fingers to these curl because I don't actually want them. This pronounced I'm going for more, like a relaxed texture type of thing, just very quickly run my brush through this as well, and then I'm just gon na shake my hair like that, and that's going to kind of bring some of the curl definition back alrighty. That'S my base style done so moving on to the first actual hairstyle, and for that I'm going to take the front part of my hair. So I'm gon na make a center parting, which I pretty much already have, but let's just make it a little neater and I'm going to take the hair from Center to right around. I guess right above the edge of my eyebrow, pull that back and then right here. On top of my head, I'm going to take one of these beautiful rose gold hair clips - I'm gon na just slide that in that's going to hold this hair back same thing on the other side and that take this hair right here slide my opinon. So only obviously my bangs pops right back out again, so if you have bangs alike and choose side to leave them out or to actually bend them back as well, just with a little bobby pin right here, I think it looks pretty cute with bangs. Of course, if you don't have bangs, then you're just going to have that so hair won't pull back. But this is the hairstyle super simple super quick to do, but I feel like this really shows off the hair beautifully and especially, if you have it curled, then this is perfect, add kind of displaying that texture really nicely, and it still allows you to show off That beautiful lamp, let me just it's: oh so gorgeous! Okay, let's move on to the second hairstyle. The second hairstyle is almost just as simple as the first one, I'm going to slowly up the difficulty as we progress throughout this video. So for this, I'm gon na take two hair elastics and I am actually just going to split my hair down the back. I'M not going to make a party I'm just going to split it, pull it forward, especially if you're wearing extensions. You want to make sure not to make a parting here, because you're going to be seeing all of those clips on the hair forward like this works just as well, I'm going to gather my hair right here just behind my ear and tie it off with a Hair elastic so now what you're going to do is take a little strip of hair, just a very thin one, from a right underneath the hair elastic, probably on the inside and you're, going to wrap that around the hair elastic itself. And this is going to hide the hair elastic so when you've wrapped it all the way around and take a bobby pin a slight bad right over the hair, any hair elastic again I'll, be inside. So it's all going on or right here secretly hidden on the inside same thing, on this side of course, and I wrap it around and stick a pin in oh it inside and there you go. There is the second hairstyle just very simple pigtails, but I feel like with the long curled hair. It just gives it something a little bit extra and it makes it look, maybe a little bit less juvenile. I guess I do really like this. I think it's really cute for the next few styles we're going to do some braiding. So first I am going to take a strip repair from my phone actually well from both sides. In total, I'm going to take this back, where I'm going to tie them together with a little hair elastic and I'm going to be using these little rubber ones. But you want to be very careful with these, especially if you have long hair and when you're trying to take them out of your hair. Honestly, I would advise you as soon as you feel like they get stuck just cut them out. They usually don't last very long anyway, and that's the safest thing to do, because once these get tangled up in long hair, you're pretty much doomed and then I'm gon na take two more strands from just below that. So right around here, pull those back as well. The same thing: I'm going to tie these off with a little hair elastic too. So now I'm going to take that first, one again that I had and I'm going to flip it inwards like that onto itself. I'M going to do that twice so that might have a little twist and I'm gon na do the same thing with you bought one. I'M gon na pull the top one through the bottom off first and then do the same thing with this one. So I'm just gon na pull it through twice. Oh, that's a really cute way to pull the hair back though, if you wanted, you could add some kind of embellishment over here. Let'S just try that actually so I have a little pearly hair clip here. I'M just gon na put that over look something like that, but I'm actually going to add a little braid underneath this so depending on how much hair you have. If you do have enough hair in those two sections that you just took, you can just use those for your braid. I am actually going to add a little bit of hair from underneath right here, right below where those sections are and I'm going to take all this together and make this into a simple braid. Now, depending on how much time you have or how much effort you're willing to put into this hairstyle, you could make this a fishtail braid. That looks really really cute, but it's very time-consuming. I'M just going to do a normal braid here, it's a regular one and that's all you bought him off with a lot of hair elastic and there is the hairstyle all done. I think this is again super super cute and this one looks way more complicated than it actually is to do they next. In no time honestly, the most time-consuming thing is debris, and that is not that hard to do so. Yeah, a really a really cute way to wear long hair. The next hairstyle is going to involve two Dutch braids going along the sides of your head. So again, if you are wearing hair extensions, you're gon na want to be careful not to create partings anywhere. Go with the flow don't Park, your hair down the center, if you're, not wearing extensions. Of course, you can't park your hair down the center. It doesn't really make much of a difference. I feel in the end result, but it does serve to light the hair extension strip. So I am going to make a center parting hair on the top of my head and then I am going to take pretty much the front part of my hair because I'm going to start pretty far back with this one. So I'm just going to take all of this, and that is going to be the beginning of my braid. So I'm going to separate this into three sections and I'm going to start braiding under and I'm gon na braid under, so that the braid lies on top of my head. When I'm done so, then I'm going to slowly start adding my hair and I'm going to make sure that I don't expose my extensions trips anywhere. So once you've reached the nape of the neck you're going to stop and tie this up with the hair elastic, I'm gon na do the same thing on the other side, so take the top of my hair and start braiding. What do you have your braids you're? Going to go back and start tugging at the side, because we won't be make these really really big. I feel like this hairstyle really benefits from really big and fluffy braids, and I'm gon na do the same trick that I did with the pigtails and beginning. So I'm gon na take a little strip of hair that I'm just going to wrap around the hair elastic so that it is concealed and there you have the finished hairstyle another super Cuban. I feel like with the pigtails on the bottom. You can really show off the length, whereas, if you were to braid, it would eat up the length a little bit. But of course, if you do want to continue this braid, you can just braid it all the way down, and that is actually what we aren't going to do with the next hairstyle. So, let's move on so the last style is going to be a side braid, and for that I'm going to put my hair in a side parting and the parting is going to be on the opposite side of where the braid is going to be so you're Going to braid on the side that has more hair now I am just going to start braiding right here at the front. I need to do that because of my bangs. If you don't have bangs, you could start a little bit more towards the back of your head so up to personal preference, but I like to create another Dutch braid. So I'm going to start with just a very tiny amount of hair and I'm going to slowly start braiding and I'm going to keep adding hair. As I go, I'm gon na slowly make my way down the entire length of my hair and I'm gon na stay on this side. Now you want to be careful like you, do in fact incorporate all the hair from the back as well so be sure to really reach back there as well, if you're taking new hair. So when you have incorporated all the hair just gon na move down and finish this braid all the way to the ends, that's a lie. Actually, we're gon na want to leave a little bit of a tail because we're going to need that for all the fluffy momentum later on, because, of course, we're going to make this braid nice and big and voluminous and beautiful. It'S not gon na stop right around. Here, leave about that much detail, I'm just gon na tug at the sides and again I'm gon na make it really really big. Don'T be shy here I feel like this is one of those hairstyles. It just looks better when it's a little bit bigger. So there we go now it's up to you. If you wan na you know, go through the trouble of rubbing some hair around this hair elastic as well. I think I'm just gon na leave it, as is it's pretty inconspicuous a little black one. So the last thing I want to do usually with hair stuff like these, I like when they are a little bit more messy, so I'm just gon na pull out some strands on the other side. Also, to make my art not so bare on this side, and since my hair is curled is gon na look really nice and actually, I think, I'm gon na. Do you want this fight as well? That'S just gon na give it a little bit more of an effortless boho b5, but this is the finished hairstyle beautiful, big side, braid, here's what it looks like from the back and from both sides. So those were the five hair cells for a long hair that I want to share with you today guys. I really hope you enjoyed this video. There will be another video here that I think you might also enjoy. You can go watch next, thank you for watching and I'll see you very soon in my next video bye,

BMO Forever: Hoorah! My hair is stupid long right now, this was much needed to remind me to actually do something with it. Side note; I love your top! Xx

Iris Siri: My real hair is as long as the extensions so it was helpful to see styles utilizing that length! Thank you!

Luka I: I will definitely try the two straint twists, super cute! Also love to see some styles for long hair, feel like it's often hard to find good new inspiration for that so thank you

Deepthi P V: 3rd Hair style is very common among South Indian Women, (in Kerala State)and even among Kids..

Marsy: This is the first time ive seen a video advertising easy hairstyles and theyre actually easy! Thanks so much love your content <3

Antonia Stoyanova: I've always wondered what to do with my long straight hair that won't hold shape and I always end up doing nothing

Sofia G: Everytime I watch I’m like “huh.. Looks simple enough!” Aaand then I end up looking like a bird’s nest

Khushi Chitania: Your hair with or without extension it's just awesome girl....❤️

Edith González: My hair isn’t long but I love watching your videos while I do my skincare routine. So soothing.

Donna Turner: Beautiful styles ! Great video.I love all of your work.

Devan Carpenter: That little jump at the end of the first hairstyle to show us the curls! Made me chuckle! ☺ Another great video by one of my favorite YouTubers!!

Katie: Thanks for the ideas! My hair is waist length now and I usually just do bun, ponytail or half up. Might drastically cut it soon to an actual style shoulder length... but I don't trust myself or any local hair places to do it for some reason.

Diekje: That second hairstyle gives me such 60’s vibes. I love it!

Chloe Smith: I have hair this long naturally and it is a NIGHTMARE lol!! I've almost passed out from how much effort it takes to even attempt a barely passable french braid, its impossible to style and every bun I make hurts my neck because it's so heavy :(. when I sleep at night I try to braid/bun my hair and it either creates a weird lump to sleep on or as I toss and turn my braids get caught under my arms and I end up pulling my own hair or getting slapped by my own hair in my sleep lol. extensions/wigs are much more fun for temporary long hairstyles if you ask me.

Nik: Gorgeous!!!❤️ Great video!

Jennifer Grove: I think part of my problem when it comes to fancy braiding (french, dutch, fishtail, etc..) is that when I go to add hair, it's hard to control the amount of hair added. And I'm also one who doesn't have a lot of hair to work with. I have the same colour as your hair but mine is naturally curly, so I straighten it 90% of the time. (And just don't wash it for days to prolong it.) I've been thinking of investing in some hair extensions for some time now, but I'm curious if they have a curly hair textured set or if I'd have to buy these and just curl them on the days I want to stay with my natural curly texture?

T F: I can do one braided style and that is a French side twist (twist instead of braiding with 3 strands). Because I can't handle 3 strands, so much easier with 2 and only on one side, because a middle parting doesn't suit me.

Chiara M: great video! usually i do the first hairstyle to go to school because it's really simple and quick to do,and i'm absolutely gonna try the third hairstyle because it looks so beautiful to me!

Poppy Noir: Lovely video, I have some hair extensions too but I also have a really hard time blending them with my own hair, as it is really fine, straight and thin. Any tips on how to blend them in when you have such little hair to work with. Also some tips on getting thicker or more hair would be lovely too, I'm growing my hair and don't use any heat on it.

Bhoomika Trivedi: Tutorial starts at 4:20

Alva Neu: Great video, Lucy! My hair is just a little longer than hip length, and the same colour as yours, so I'm definetly gonna try these styles.

Sarah Youle: Great video! My hair is just below my butt, it's so hard to find good hair tutorials for really long hair! Use a seam ripper tool to take out the tiny hair elastics, it's a game-changer.

Abbiekakez: I think long curled pigtails is SO cute!!

carlagolivera: my hair is long like this, and i have not known what to do with it lately... so thank you!♡

Gabrielle Russell: I don’t even have long hair. I’m just watching this because I enjoy your tutorials.

Ash Walia: in my religion we don't cut hair our whole life .....so I have crazy long hair .... thanx for the video ....much needed❤

Kaya: This is straight aesthetic. I came here to get to know my own long hair but this was just too pleasing to focus

Vilot cox: Its so beautiful and cute! ♡

Ari: I have the same curling problem as you (I noticed) I curl my hair and minutes to an hour later it’s basically straight if I put a lot of hairspray on it just feels stiff and gross. I honestly don’t bother curling my hair anymore and when I do I use heatless methods to keep my hair healthy.

green yandere cat: Thank you for this great ideas!

MontyKat23: My hair is currently 36 inches long, I just cut 12 inches off the bottom, and I was thinking now that my hair is short I would fix it more but...i haven't. I might try these though, very pretty and simple ❤

Sangeetha Gandu: Even I wanna try this out you look so beautiful really

Mary Diane De Castro: Haii can u do some simple hairstyles for back to school??

Patience Schneider: imagine having hair PAST ur butt. That's me and its hard getting hairstyles to work. i always do either a ponytail, pigtails, or a braid

Hannah Buchanan: Your hair is so pretty, and I love your top.

Veronica Milroy: Do I have chin-length hair these days? Yes. Am I watching this anyway? Absolutely. <3
