What'S up, you guys welcome and welcome back to my channel today, i'm going to be showing you guys how i achieved these gorgeous short passion twists. So if you are interested in seeing how i got this look, then just continue watching so we're gon na be starting out with freshly washed and stretched hair. I don't know about you guys, but every time i have a wash day girl, a relaxer doesn't sound that bad, but for today's wash day i settled for a trim. Instead we're going to talk about how damaged my hair is in another video. Today'S video is about these passion twists, so what you're going to need are some combs an edge brush some scissors, some banana clips, some elastic bands, which i drenched in castor oil, some shine and jam along with my absolute favorite edge control, the hair, i'm going to Be using in today's video is by freetress. This is their water wave, bulk hair. I bought three 12 inch packs and three 22 inch packs and ended up using majority of the hair. So, since i'm a divide and conquer kind of girl, i'm gon na go ahead and part my hair off into six sections. I just find it easier to make my parts when i'm working in much smaller sections. I get a lot of questions about how i part my own hair and the truth is. I have been doing my own protective style since high school, so i already kind of have a good feel of my head and how to go about partying. However, i would always suggest having a second mirror on hand, to ensure that you're able to see the back of your head, but there isn't much of a technique that i really use over the years. I'Ve just learned that practice makes i've had some bad luck with using rubber bands in the past, but i decided to do things differently this time to ensure the least amount of breakage. So for one i made sure that i wasn't using the crochet method so that i wouldn't be applying any unnecessary tension to my roots. I also made sure not to use any rubber bands in the front sections of my hair to preserve my edges. Just in case this new method didn't work out here, i'm just brushing my baby hairs out to ensure that they don't get trapped in the passion twist and now we're gon na go ahead and start on the front section. I already mentioned to you guys that i'm avoiding the use of elastic bands throughout the front, so instead of using elastic bands, as you guys can see, i'm braiding the front section just so that i do not have to risk losing my edges for this style. So yeah the main reason why we're prepping the sections prior to attaching the passion twist is because these are quite large sections if they were any smaller. This method would be unnecessary, but since they're so big, i just want to make sure that they come out as crisp as possible and that's why we are securing the root before we actually attach the evil care yeah. So we're starting out with the 22 inch pack, which i'm going to be cutting in half since i'm trying to achieve a bob look. Instead of buying several packs of one length of hair and wasting loads of money, i decided to cut the 22 inch packs and use them on the lower half of my head, while saving the 12 inch packs for the upper half of my head. It took me a little while to get a hang of this method, because a lot of my twists were coming out crazy. Looking while i was going for a much more uniform look, but after watching minnie marley's passion twist tutorial, i learned that there actually is a method to the madness from watching her video. I learned that, in order to achieve a more uniform look, the curl pattern of the individual strands you're using have to match. In other words, the curls, have to be facing the same direction that way they kind of lock into one another and produce a juicy. Looking passion twist still need my account smaller, like the way my nephew's getting taller. My soundtrack is the second quarter y'all. I was just getting the hang of it. So please do not mind what the lower half of my head is. Looking like this was the trial and error section: okay, um, but i eventually started getting the hang of it and about to put you guys on to exactly what it is that i'm doing so. If you have ever done box braids on yourself, this method will be a breeze for you, since we're trying to avoid the crochet method as a whole. We'Re gon na have to use an alternate method to attach the bulk hair to our hair, and that's where your braiding experience will come in handy. Each of the twists are basically going to start out as a box braid and then turn into a passion twist. So, like 10 braid 90 twist, so i was so shocked to look at the time and see that this style had only taken me four hours. I definitely think all of the videos i watched prior to trying this out helped me save a load of time by just avoiding unnecessary mistakes along the way, so i'll be sure to link some of the tutorials that i watched down below for those of you who Decide to try this style out. Most of my twists turned out super secure. Since i have followed many marley's suggestions in her video. However, i did want to add elastic bands to the ends of my twists. That was just my preference. However, you can choose to do the same or to not. I just think the elastic bands give it a much more trendy and youthful look, so i decided to add those. They also helped me to ensure that all of my twists are the same length, so i ended up using the bands as a marker to determine where to cut, maintain the same length throughout my head and just like that. That concludes today's tutorial. I do hope you guys enjoyed it. Let me know if you end up trying out this style for yourselves, and i will see you guys in my next video bye, guys
