Hey everybody!!! I'm so excited to share this video with you, it's been quite the project to finish up! I recently trimmed my hair and took out all my extensions so I thought it'd be fun to share some hairstyles that work well with medium length to short hair. I did several of these styles on my friend with a short bob and they looked so cute on her! If your hair is to at least your collar bones though, all these styles will look amazing on you. Before we get to the 10 medium length hairstyles, I wanted to mention that I'm giving away 10 copies of my new hairstyle book on YouTube!!

Have any of you seen me chatting about it on InstaStories?! It's called Twist Me Pretty Braids and I'm soooo excited it's finally out!!! I've been working on it since January and the publishing house I worked with let me have full control over the design and aesthetic so it's totally my little baby! I'm so proud of it! It works hand in hand with my other books and none of the styles have been repeated. It'd make an amazing present/gift for Christmas for a sister or friend! Put it with a cute hairbrush, some of your favorite hairspray and bobby pins?! You can snag it on Amazon, it's at Walmart, Target, in all bookstores and several boutique shops across the country so if you're out and about, keep an eye out for it! I can't wait for you guys to get your hands on it!!

You can also find easy access to all the hairstyles I've ever done here http://www.twistmepretty.com/hairstyle...

Hey everybody a view here from twist be pretty welcome back to my channel. I am such a fun video planner for you today. I know that I say that a lot because it's true I've spent the last three hours of my life with filming ten tutorials about you and they're all perfect for medium length era. As you can see, I took my extensions out and I've chopped a little bit of it. I know my hair is a little bit longer than medium length, but this will work if your hair hits your collarbone. I even tried several of the hairstyles on my friend, who has a shorter bob, so a lot of them will work for you, shorter gals too. Before we get started, though I have a huge surprise for you. Are you ready? I just released a new hair style book. This is called twist me pretty braids. It has been in the works since January. You guys labor of love right here. I am so excited for you guys to finally get it it's available on Amazon and any bookstore. There'S 45 step-by-step tutorials perfect for long hair, everyday there's lots of like there's just so many hairstyles in here. So I am really excited for you guys to get that book and I'm gon na give ten copies away in the US. Leave me a comment in the description that says why you will love it or who you would give it to and then I'll pick ten winners at the end of the week. And then, if you love it, if you get it for Christmas because it would make such a great Christmas gift or present. But if you get this, will you go to Amazon and leave me a five star review, because that is how we're gon na share it? With the world so anyway, I hope you guys pick up this book and I hope you love it as much as I do. You guys ready to get started on these hair cells. Already, don't forget to subscribe below so that you don't miss any future videos and let's get started hairstyle number one. This is the floating braid. Is that like to call it we're just gon na pin up a section of hair near the crown make sure you leave some pieces out near your face and then I'm just securing with two criss-crossing bobby pins and then I'm gon na take a small section of Hair near the part on the thicker side and divide the hair into three sections: we're gon na braid, the outer strands under the middle piece add a new section to the top strand. Braid it under the middle add a new section to the bottom strand, and this is just your basic Dutch braid, so we're gon na braid that under the middle, do one more stitch like this and then turn it into a regular three strand braid. Once the braid reaches the back, we're just going to stretch it out to make it look a little bit more full and then we're just gon na wrap it around the bobby pins and secure on the other side. Hairstyle number two: this is the role to fun. You'Re, just gon na pull your hair back into a low ponytail and then make a little hole with your fingers right above the elastic, then just flip, the hair up and down through that hole. If you have super short hair, do this as a half up style and if you have some length, put the ends into a messy bun and then, if you have a little bit more length, take the ends and roll them through that hole. One more time and then use bobby pins to secure the roll and any pieces that fall out hairstyle number three: this is the edge you braid. It'S super cute on really short hair you're, just gon na clip all your hair out of the way, except for a thin section from your part to your ear, and all of this is on the thinner side of my part. So I'm going to divide the hair into three sections and begin a Dutch braid, so the outer sections are gon na, go under the middle and you're gon na angle, the braid behind your ear, so that it doesn't make your ear poke out. And then, when you get to the top of your ear, just do a regular three-strand, braid all the way down and then holding the braid taut with one hand you're just gon na stretch the braid out, so that it looks a little bit more full. Then we're gon na tie it off with a clear elastic, wrap it around our hairline by our neck and then secure it with a bobby pin. So I just like to lay the hair on top after that and we're done hairstyle number four. This is the triple top to Dale if you have short or medium length hair. I love utilizing Topsy tails just because they help hold the hair in place. So right now, I'm taking a small section, a few inches behind my bangs and securing it with an elastic. I ran out of clear elastics, so just bear with me on the pink and then you're gon na make a hole right above the elastic and flip the tail up and through it then cinch the elastic up to tighten it and then we're just go stretch. Those twists a little bit and we're gon na do another one so gather a new section of hair, including the tail from the first flip and secure it with an elastic we're gon na flip the hair through. And do it one last time and you can finish it off one of two ways you can let it hang and I like to take a small section of hair from behind the style and secure the flips in place by wrapping a clear elastic around the end Of the last slip and that new section of hair that just kind of holds it at a nice angle or if you have more length, you can put the ends into a side messy bun. And when I was practicing these styles on my friend, I was doing just like a regular half bun and her shorter ends. It kept sticking out we're so cute, so either way is a great way to end this triple Topsy tail style, hairstyle number five: this is the braided half Polly tails we're just gon na take a small section from the very front divide it into three and then Begin a French braid, so this is the one where the outer sections go over the middle section and then you're gon na braid. It all the way back and as you'll notice, I'm honestly not too perfect with the lines I kind of want it to have that more undone feel to it. When you reach the back you're gon na tie it off with a ponytail holder and then to make the tail a little bit more poofy you're, just gon na put criss-crossing bobby pins behind that elastic. And, alternatively, you can use a small clip, but I couldn't find mine. So this is a super funny hairstyle that I wear a lot hairstyle number six. This is the half bun we're just gon na gather the top layers of hair, smooth out any bubbles and then secure it with a clear elastic on the last pass through the elastic instead of pulling it all the way through we're gon na loop, the tail around. So that it's now above this new half bun and then we're just gon na, take the tail and wrap it around horizontally. The top of that bun just kind of keep on wrapping until you're out of hair hold the ends in place with your thumb and then secure with another clear elastic. This is honestly one of the cutest styles. It'S just super effortless and easy to do, but it looks really pretty hairstyle number seven. This is the triple buttons: we're just gon na basically divide the hair into thirds and do three messy buns, because my hair is a little bit longer. I'M doing a real messy bun, because I have all that length to hide. If you have shorter hair, just do regular, half buns and let your ends poke out and then, when you've done all three buns you're, just gon na smush them all together with bobby pins. Hairstyle number eight: this is one of my favorite everyday hairstyles and it looks so cute on short hair. So I'm gon na move my part a little bit so that it's more in the center and then we're gon na gather a small section of hair and divide it into three and then the bottom strand is gon na go under the middle section and the top Strand is gon na, go under the middle section and then we're gon na add a new section of hair to the bottom strand and braid that under the middle and then we're gon na add in a new section of hair it to the top strand and braid. That under the middle and now we're going to switch things up a little bit and turn our Dutch braid into a lace braid, which basically means that we're not gon na be adding any more hair to that bottom section. And I like doing this because it leaves more hair down. So if you have any thin spots or patches near your temple, you can leave enough hair down to cover all of it and then once you get to the back, do a regular three strand, braid all the way down and then just start to the braid out To make it look a little bit more full before tying off and then you're gon na repeat on the other side. And if you don't have the length to braid all the way down just meet the braids in the middle and do a cute little half button to finish off the style. Peristyle number: nine we're almost there you guys. So this is just a vertical succession of knots and if you don't have the length do just little mini buttons, I promise they're so super cute, but I'm basically taking four sections and wrapping the tail up and around two fingers and then twisting my fingers back and Around so that I can grab the rest of that tail and then I'm pinning in place with Criss crossing bobby pins, and you can do messy buns with elastics or honestly. Whatever is just easiest for you and if you're doing messy buns try smashing them together, like we did on hairstyle number, seven and finally, a hairstyle number 10. So we're gon na divide the hair into three with the largest section in the center and then pull it into a low ponytail with a clear elastic and then we're just gon na take one of the sides and wrap it around the ponytail secure to place with Another clear elastic and then take the last section and wrap it around the ponytail again and secure it in place with another clear elastic. This ponytail is so super cute and so easy. I hope you guys loved it. We did it, you guys, 10 tutorials. I hope you guys loved this video. If you did it, please give it a thumbs up and then don't forget. You can pick up my twist me pretty braids book on Amazon and in all the bookstores and I'm giving away 10 copies so enter butyl. Squirrel: Due to thw fact that my father always loved my hair I've always kept it long. Now that he isn't with us anymore out of love for him and respect for his memory I've continued to leave it to grow, going so far as to no longer keep the length at my waist. The result is hair that's to the middle of my thighs. For years I've had 2 hair styles, down and a messy bun, with the occasional French braid for special occasions. Being so long and thick I could no longer make anything else look decent. A few months ago I came across one of your video's and with a mind full of doubt I gave a few looks a try. With a few little tweaks, a bunch more pins, and ponytail holders I am able to style according to mood and event now rather than utility and it takes less time than ever before. So I just want to say thank you. Loving my Daddy as much as any other Daddy's Girl out there I was close to taking a foot or so off because of the hassle. Thanks for helping me to continue to honor my father in a way that always made him smile.

Alison Owens: Okay you are by far one of my favorite youtubers that makes hair tutorials! You explain things so well and make it so easy to follow!

The theme was Hollywood, and my hair is hard to work with, PLUS I don't get much practice doing anything but ponytails and braids and such. Anyways, I did the "topsy tail" one with a messy bun in the back. It was a little messier than how you did it, but I think it turned out great and elegant. Thank you so much!

olivia caitlyn: Thanks so much! This helped me and my bff. We did these all night long!

Candice Lind: I’m getting ready to go on a cruise on Harmony of the Seas and I’m looking for cute hair styles I can incorporate for dress up dinner nights!! I NEED this book in my life Love it, you did a incredible job

༺S. C.༻: Abby, I'd love to have your book to give to my 70 year old mom. Several reasons. She's been suffering from a horrible skin disorder for about 15 years which hurts her SO much and messes up her life (and her hair) in the following ways: ● The disease, which they can't figure out, itches and burns severely but the medications the drs have put her on have thinned her skin so badly that scratching it tears her skin like paper. Even sleeping, moving around in bed rips her skin and she wakes up in puddles of blood. ● For these reasons, and because any and EVERY chemical around burns her skin terribly, she cannot bathe or wash her hair. Shampoo and soap are torture for her. When she can no longer stand her own smell, she'll put on latex gloves and suffer thru the ordeal of bathing, but she suffers terribly afterward. Between not bathing and the cancer-causing, 'nuclear bomb' medications they have her on to try to control the skin disease, her hair is falling out. It's very thin and wispy now and she doesn't know what to do with it, so she wears it in a sad little gray ponytail like a 16-year-old cheerleader, lol. It looks silly on her at her age but she has no choice since she refuses to cut it short. So I'd at least like her to learn some new styles. ● My sister, her youngest of 2 daughters/kids, was found dead on the floor of her bedroom a couple of years ago. It killed my mom. I think it made even more of her hair fall. She's been very sad since. Last year sometime, her husband of 20 years died from pancreatic cancer. They weren't close, more 'companions in old age', but he was at least there for her and now she has no one. She lives alone. Even her cat died. I'm telling you, it's like a bad Lifetime movie. My mom and I aren't close, and I hoped my sister's death would change that but it didn't. Still, I try to help her as much as I can. I'm always looking for remedies for her skin and little things I can do to help her feel pretty again because her skin makes her feel ugly, esp since she can't wash it. I've given her home health, hospital grade, no-rinse perineal cleansers to use, which helps her a great deal (she has no computer or internet or smart phone - by choice - so she can't buy personal care things for herself unless she goes out) but a girl needs pretty hair to truly feel feminine. I've begged her to cut off her hair in a pixie style but she flat refuses. She won't let those few wispy strands of gray go! Help me help her, with your book, find a way to style her hair again so she can once again feel pretty like a woman? I'd sure appreciate it. Her name is Peggy. Her husband was Thomas Carroll of Oklahoma City. My sister was Heather Lynn Drapeau, A1C (Air Force). Her obit is still on Google, I think. Just in case you want to verify my story. I also have a photo of her skin if you'd like to see how awful it looks and why she can't wash her hair, because it's on her hands, which crack and bleed and burn. She looks burned in a fire even though she wasn't. Thankfully it's not yet on her face.

Whittney Ferguson: These are all soo cute!! Thank you

sofi m: When she parts her hair perfectly with her finger.

danae rogers: Oh you look so gorgeous! I love your channel and your hair styles!

savannah cutler: I love your book it is so cool and they are perfect hairstyles for my length of hair

Mila Hitomi: These would be amazing for simple wedding hairstyles.

Katie Haverland: I can grow my hair long or what people consider extra long. It's always weird to think people consider collarbone as medium length. I'm about to donate and have boob length hair and I'd consider that medium.

Lauren Daugherty: Hi Abby! I would love your book because when I’m older I want to be a hairstylist! I’m only 13 years old, but so far I’ve done hair for weddings (even a brides!) Halloween parties, and dances! I would really love to find more cute hairstyles in your book! ❤️
