Not all those so-called `` timeless'' hairstyles last forever., After all, just as our bodies age, so too does our hair., But don't worry. We have the power to adapt to our changing. Looks We've tapped the experts to reveal the hairstyles for older women that are going out of style fast, so you will be on trend for life. If you've always had very long hair, it can be hard to picture yourself with a shorter style as an older woman.''. My mom likes ponytails. I found out.'''' Shut up !''. Nevertheless, many women begin considering a big chop when they're in their mid 40s., According to anti-aging brand, Nurture Replenish. A poll of 2,000 women over the age of 40 found that age 46 was the quote. `` watershed year for many women.'', And it makes sense why more and more older women are considering ditching their long locks., John Blue hairstylist and owner of Boss, Hair Group in Chicago says of longer hairstyles :'' [. They ] tend to drag you down and age. You well beyond your years.'', While some women might think long. Hair keeps them looking young Blue says: that's just not true, adding ,''. In most cases, it's very unflattering. Hair tends to weaken and get brittle and more sparse as we age. So it's best to keep it shorter, freshly-cut and sharp-looking.'' In addition to ditching extremely long cuts. These days, fewer women are opting for lengthy layers., Natural hair expert and founder of Hayah Cosmetics. Darrius Peace revealed that long hair with layers can have a similar effect on the face.. He says: ,'' As we age, everything about bodies and faces start to descend., Longer hanging, hair exaggerates bags under eyes, [ and ], magnifies lines and wrinkles.''''. The standard of beauty is you.'' Instead, shorter styles make your hair look fuller.. If you have mid-length hair, there's no reason to sacrifice overall length., Simply adding in shorter layers can freshen up your hairstyle. Need some celebrity inspiration. Blythe Danner rocks an extremely flattering textured lob. And those layers perfectly complement the actress' features.''. You don't need all that. Just right. The way you are.'' In an attempt to cover those grays dark-haired women have relied on even deeper dyes for decades.. The result, however, is an unnatural-looking color, nicknamed `` shoe polish'' by experts. Master colorist Louis Licari explained to Allure ,''. It can look opaque, which can showcase grays and regrowth.. It will also zap life and color from your face.''. Thankfully, it looks like this hairstyle just might be hanging by a thread. In place of pitch black hair Licari recommends requesting a single-process color with highlights, thereby going one shade lighter.''. The best thing about highlights is that you do not have to color your hair frequently.''. If you prefer a boxed dye, Negin Zand colorist at Salon, Benjamin in West Hollywood, California advises going even lighter.. She told Allure, ,'' Buy a box, that's one shade lighter than the color you desire.'', Although it used to basically be the one socially acceptable thing to do completely covering your grays is falling out of fashion. And if you're sick of touching up your roots. This is pretty much the best news, ever. Tonya, Reid, hairstylist and owner of T. Reid and Company in Charlotte North Carolina says she thinks more. Women will be rocking those grays in 2020. And Jamie DiGrazia, award-winning hairstylist and owner of Logan Parlor in Chicago noted that coloring over grays is already not as popular as it once was.. She says: ,'' It's becoming more and more acceptable for women to wear their natural gray hair.. There are a variety of hair care products to keep the wiry texture at bay and keep the tone brilliant. Color glosses and rinses can blend the silver tones [ instead of ] using a monochromatic dark, tone…for full coverage.''''. I can see where I am going and it's beautiful.'' Frustrated with thinning or damaged hair. Many older women, like Dolly Parton, have turned to wigs.''. Why not just wear wigs That way? I never have a bad hair day.''. It'S not a new trend, but wigs have certainly changed over the years.. Wig guru Shay Ashual told Vogue that it was Beyoncé who actually helped propel wigs into the mainstream claiming ,''. She made it OK to wear wigs openly and created a demand for lace-front, wigs [, which are ] [, more realistic, better quality ] that were normally only available in the film and theatre industries.. Wig companies saw this as an opportunity to up their game and make it into the mainstream.'' With better options on the market. Those poor-quality synthetic wigs, older women used to wear are going out of style, fast. Darrius Peace says the reason. Synthetic bob wigs in particular are trending out is :'' [ The ] amount of luster that we see with [ them. ] looks inauthentic and cheap.. The luster in the hair looks plastic and doesn't really accurately mimic the luster of human hair.''. Peace instead recommends going for a custom bobbed wig made of real human hair. Sye South hair stylist self-professed ``, huge hair, nerd, ,'' and artistic designer at Mane Attraction Salon in Phoenix Arizona says that women tend to get comfortable with their hair, maybe even getting the same Cut they had way back in high school. As hairstyles and trends change, though South says it's imperative to stay up to date.. That means it's officially time to give up those helmet-shaped'dos.''. I hope this doesn't give me helmet hair.''. Instead, the hair guru recommends trying something a tad trendier like what she calls: `` soft waves, narrower silhouettes [ or an ] airy texture.'', No matter the haircut you're considering South advises consulting your hairstylist for their opinion. And don't worry about a new style being `` age. Appropriate.'' As long as it flatters your face and your personality, you're golden., Shorter hair is the way to go to combat the effects of thinning and weakening hair. Byrdie reports. ,'' Shorter hair is stronger than longer strands, so even very fine hair can benefit from a super-short cropped. Cut.'''', Let's get my hair back. We need it out of the way.''. In addition to actually being stronger than a long, hairstyle pixies can give off the illusion that your hair is thicker than it really is.. Even so buzzed or extremely short styles for older women are on their way out. According to Deena Von Yokes, master, stylist, colorist and owner of Studio, Savvy Salon in Rancho Santa Fe California., Of course, one trend doesn't go away without another one taking its place., Thankfully, a newer style. The soft pixie is what Von Yokes describes as ,''. Less precise cuts. [ that ] create a softer, more blended, look with layers.'' Michael Sparks hairstylist and co-founder of Tabb and Sparks Salon in Santa Monica CA says. Traditional shorter cuts are also trending out.. He says older women have started opting for quote `` length with bits of shorter hair. [ to ] [ frame ], the face.'' For inspiration, think Julianne Moore.'' Biggest vice.'''' Wine ?'' The Evening Standard reported of the actress ,'' In person. The first thing you notice about 58-year-old, [, Julianne, ] Moore, are those cheekbones which…you could legitimately grate parmesan off [ of ] .''. Of course, that's not entirely due to her haircut, but it helps. Hansen Liu, a hairstylist at Marie Robinson Salon in New York City, confirmed to Refinery29 ,''. A haircut can definitely not only affect a person's face, but also enhance a person's bone. Structure.'' For older women. Feathered bangs are well going out with a bang according to Sye South., But that doesn't mean some styles of bangs can't make the cut. Master. Hairstylist Ruth Roche explained that longer wispier bangs can look stunning on older women. Adding ,'' Have them trimmed, often, rather than cutting them shorter, so they last longer. Fringes that are too short can look utilitarian and boring.'' You'll also wan na consider how bangs can completely change up your look for better or for worse.''. I just changed my look in 15 seconds.'' Celeb, stylist Mitch, Stone noted, ,'', [, Bangs ] can make you look really young and sexy or make your nose or forehead look twice the size.. It'S important to make sure you trust your hairstylist before going for it.''. Speaking of bangs, the blunt bang trend is nearing its end. If you're asking Deena Von Yokes., While straight-across bangs may work on fashion mogul Anna Wintour, that's certainly not the case for every woman. And it's not just age. That becomes a factor when determining. If this hairstyle is right for you.'', There is always a time when you know you have to break the rules.''. Samantha Stonehouse senior stylist at Toronto-based, Cowlick Salon, told Chatelaine, ,'' Square face shapes, should avoid harder. Blunt-Looking fringe. [ Go for ] softer wispy fringe. That'S longer around the temples or a side-swept look. A longer curtain, bang or side-swept fringe can last a long time more like six to eight weeks to maintain the style.''. Although perms have started to make their way back in as a trend for younger women, mature women have been ditching the style.'' Hold on girl. Somebody just called me.'''' Quinta.''''. What'S that Who's there ?'''' It's me.'''', Perm box, ?'''' Yeah, that's right.'', Sye South says older. Women are moving away from perms, especially that notorious `` poodle perm.'', With natural gray, hair becoming more popular among mature women. It only makes sense that perms are dying out., But if you don't want to give up your beloved perm mix it up with a fresh modernized version like the texture, wave. Michon Kessler, stylist at Studio M salon in Reno Nevada, told Today ,'', Unlike the perms of The'80S, these texture-creating waves are done on much larger rods and use gentler chemicals.'', But, as always, you'll want to consult your hairstylist to make sure your hair is strong enough to handle this type of process. From classic sleek bobs to lobs, with subtle layers. There are a number of cuts that look absolutely perfect on older women., Sam Burnett, hairstylist and owner of Hare & Bone salon. Told Byrdie, ,'' Shoulder-skimming styles are super flattering as they graze the décolletage and gently frame. The face.. It'S also worth flagging that thinning hair, especially in younger women, is on the rise and lobs are one of the best ways to create the illusion of thicker, fuller hair, which is incredibly youth-boosting.''. Burnett has a special fondness for `` the modern bob ,'', adding ,'' [. It ] has a defined outline that sits around the jawline framing your face and directing the eyes towards your best features.''. However, some mature women are starting to forego one particular bob. According to master stylist Deena Von Yokes., She says bobs that are quote `` too severe'' and draw a harsh `` line on [. The ] face'' is a style. Many older women are looking to avoid., While carefully cut layers can be useful for camouflaging, thinning, hair, hairstylist and advanced designer at Salon. Eva Michelle Bryant Anthony, says, he's seeing fewer and fewer older women opting for `` short choppy layers.''. Instead, clients are choosing longer styles with longer bangs., But that doesn't mean you have to pass on the layers completely.. They can still serve a great purpose. Gina, Rivera, stylist and founder of Phenix Salon. Suites advises ,'' Layers can serve to soften features by adding volume and movement.''. The key is to go for subtle layering, as opposed to choppy locks, especially if you're going for a more blunt-style bob. Celebrity hairstylist, Matt Fugate explained to Allure ,''. If it's too layered it'll be [, overwhelming ] [, The cut ] should be slightly shorter in the back than it is in the front. Because of how much density you naturally have in the back of your hair.'', Perhaps in an attempt to disguise signs of aging face-covering, looks were once the go-to styles of choice for mature hair.. As of 2020, though, that trend has already been kicked to the curb. Gareth Ward says more and more women are quote'', keeping their hair off their face and showing off their face. Shape.''. If you like to wear your hair a bit longer, you can pull off. This look with a braid or a ponytail., However stylist Gina Rivera doesn't advise pulling your hair back too tightly.. The expert recommends that the style be worn more loosely. As you get older, adding ,'' Pulling out soft strands of hair around the face can generate a gorgeous. Look especially with the right hair accessory.'' Check out one of our newest videos right here, Plus even more List videos about your favorite fashion trends are coming soon. The List: What are the worst hairstyles you see older women wearing?

Jill Briska: As a 51 year old I find the rules in these type videos funny because anyone that knows women over a certain age knows WE DON’T CARE what the trends are. We care more about being authentic to ourselves. We like who we are too much to follow the latest styles- we have been there/ done that for most of our lives- it’s exhausting. At our age we like to express our own taste and personal style even if that style is no style at all! It’s called being comfortable in our own skin.

Love4Life1: As you age the liberation from following trends is a gift. Whatever style makes me happy is what I wear......I no longer give a shyte. It’s an amazing feeling.

salmiak333: I just love all the sass and the confidence shining through in the comments from all these amazing women who are determined to just be themselves, calling this video out on it's inconsistency and wrongness. You literally give me life, keep doing you.

Abigail J: "The standard of beauty is youth"...No. The standard of beauty is beauty. And it comes in all shapes, sizes, and ages.

Connie McMurry: I have always had short hair. I'm 5'1" with fine features and my hair is fine and thin. If I try to grow it longer it's hard to handle, flys away and I lose the features in my face. I found out what looks good on me over the years (70 now) so I pretty much stick with it.

Mega MindyLou: Long hair is out, short hair is out, bangs are out, grey hair is in, bangs are back in, no wait, they are back out..... this content is all over the place. Wear the style you want, nobody knows what’s really going on anymore. ‍♀️

Carola Meyer: One of the great things about being an "older woman" is perspective - frankly, I don't care what some young fashion guru thinks I should look like. I currently go for short hair because it's convenient for swimming and doesn't hang in my eyes when I'm working. It's also much quicker to wash and dry. My choice, and nobody else's business.

Myra Ann Clark: So, long hair is out and short hair is out...do I just shave? Also, can you omit young women for an older women's hairstyles topic.

Mary Beth Leib: While this video was said to talk about hairstyles for older women...most of the women pictured hardly qualified as “Older. “

Annie Banani: So tired of these videos aimed at "older" women that use primarily 20 year old models-

Fair Maiden: I have long, thick, layered hair and I’m 52. It’s not thinning and in fact looks more healthy now more than ever. If you follow the trends, you’ll soon be bald. Wear your hair how you want, ladies. It’s your crowning glory.

Michele Pohl: I wear my grey hair in styles that work for my lifestyle, which is retired. I spent enough time in my younger days agonizing over my hair, knowing it would frizz as soon as I walked out the door. I've had long hair, short hair, perms and everything in between and always come back to a bob, which works best for me and is very easy to maintain.

whatsername1180: My mom is in her late 40s. She has her hair long and rocks her graying hair. She prefers long hair. Do what you want, your body. Who cares what others think!

Rea Fe Greenage: Work with three older women with long hair. They look great. There is also women who looks great with short hair. It the face shape that determines what hairstyles look great with the face.

Helen: I’m a little confused, I’ve always heard longer hair on women was associated with being younger, but here they’re saying it’s ageing on older women. I’m 51 and have long thin hair and I’m happy that it makes me look old. I also have greying hair which I’m also happy to embrace and won’t be vain and cover it up by a colour. Personally, I’m proud to be in my 50’s and happy with my fine, greying hair. I’ve never gotten this obsession with wanting to look younger, let’s just be proud we’ve made it to half a century and move forward

Karen Worthington: I'm 54 and have waist length dark blonde hair, I've never dyed it, and very very rarely blow dry it, all I do is brush it when it's dry, no problem whatsoever! and it looks healthy so I'm not thinking of cutting it short any time soon.

Leah Onomatopoeia: My mum did the opposite. Having straight fine hair, she always had really short hair, then as she got older, decided to grow it out, and let the grey just be.

Judith: I love the way the headline states these are styles for "older women" yet most of the women in this video are young!

Psychology: Absolutely loved this video. I never would have been able to figure out for myself what I like and feel comfortable wearing. I need the experts who seem so adept at denigrating women, especially older women, to set me straight. Thanks, experts. You have changed my life.

Morton Vizner: Have to agree with those who disagree with this video. Since when did one size fits all apply to hairstyles or length. Here's a suggestion - turn off the sound and just watch beautiful women wearing the hair they enjoy.

Shelly Watson: I love young women. I have 3 daughters. It’s insulting though to older women, to continue to use young models in a video for older hairstyles. Use older models. Older women are beautiful. Look, I don’t think they younger women would appreciate looking at hairstyles for themselves that older women were the models for. Make sense? Sheesh!

M. W.F.: So...not too long but also not too short but not too shiny but not too dull but not too colored but not too grey...so basically...everything that women have been told their entire existence...no matter what you do it’s not good enough. I’m over it.

TheBeautyIAm: Lies! True style and grace come from the wisdom and courage to be your authentic self. Wear what you want and how you want! Be beautiful!

Jazzie Red: I quit dying my hair, got a shoulder length, layered cut, I have naturally curly hair, I wash and air dry, that's it. It's so freeing. I get compliments on it all the time.

Brenda Paladino: Just wondering; are there any "no longer trendy" hairstyles that men wear? What about the bald man! Why is it always about women! Wear you hair however you like it and be happy!

mfwanfy: Would have been nice to see REALLY older women - say those in their 70's and 80's!

Carolyn Hamilton: Ridiculous. Granny perms are the only think that I would never wear. Do what you want. Tell men how to wear their hair instead

Jane Zempel: Growing up every older woman had one of those haircuts like Edith Bunker. Short hair was the rule once you turned 40. . So much for short hair making you look younger. Middle aged women looked old and dowdy in the 1960s and 70s.

Linda B.: I have had a pixie cut all my life and was under the impression that my hair wouldn’t grow long. I am now 65 and loving my ponytail and messy buns.

Zzz Sleepy: Every older woman I see has the same sad Bob and pixie cut. If anything, that's become the older woman uniform. I never see young women with these weird feathery styles. As for aging hair... Eh. If you care for your hair and don't damage it by doing a lot of hair sins (teasing, hot tools, perms and colour) that are popular with Boomers, chances are your long hair will look great. The best advice is to find your style and avoid fashion at all costs. If you're a hippie with long hair, you'll look good with it when you're old. You'll look like a bit of a witch, but is that a bad thing? If you're angular and rock a short crop, you'll look good with it when you're old. Men get to keep the same style for life, but women have to change as they age, give me a break. Edith Head kept the same style her entire life and you can't tell what age she was at any point - her look kept her timeless. Way too many rules for being a woman. Don't buy into the propaganda.

ElleVancouver: One of the most delicious things about growing older is the absolute freedom to do and wear what ever you want with no fcuks given. Comprende?

Dawn Salois: After 55, women know what looks best on them and best expresses personality. i was always under the impression that a priviledge of age was the freedom NOT to have to follow current trends.

Paul Rosebush: Ladies, do whatever you want with your hair. You're our moms, our wives and our sisters and we still love ya!!!

chuck sellers: I'm a 41-year-old man. My hair these days is about 1/2 gray and is wiry and the texture is off, and It has no body. That being said, thank you, Jesus, that I still have it, and, now, I'm going to stop complaining.

Denise Kinzle: As a retired hairdresser I've done it all. There are alot of hairstyles I can do with long hair wearing up or braided. For the shorts do s I have 97 great wigs in every color & style. So do what you want?!(

Kathy Hamer: I don’t give a darn what experts say, wear your hair the way you want too.

Maggie 2 Sticks: Yeah, we are rocking our grays. No other options during a pandemic lockdown.

Missy Lee: I never understood why women cut their hair shorter when they got older. Now that I'm almost 37 I'm already understanding. My hair is already changing and I'm already feeling less inclined to spend a ton of time on it.

Coleen Parsons: I shaved my head in February, 2019, at age 53, and haven't done anything besides wash it occasionally since then. It's never been healthier, well, in adulthood at any rate, natural layers and less gray when longer. I look forward to saltier hair to match my personality. I've liked different lengths a lot and may revisit some shorter styles though. Maybe when I turn 55. If I color again, it'll be purple.

Robyn Aiello: Only the weak follow the experts! Follow yourself be who you want to be!

Lexi Cat: Well 2020 is going to be the year that ages all of us faster. I never much cared what someone else thought. It's my hair.

Hannah Nyheim: A daughter of a friend of min said I looked younger after my diving from which I´ve got wet hair instead of my usual hairstyle. That was a compliment:) AND it was long.....

Shy 1: Hairstyles dont go out of style. It's what you're comfortable with. Be beautiful you. In any hairstyle you feel good in.

Lademac: And "perm" means something totally different for black women's hair than it does for white women's...

Kaleidoscope Eyes: I'm 47 and I plan to have longer hair for the rest of my life. F*** trends and society's expectations of mature women.

Nancy O'Fallon: I'm over 50 and do not give a rat's patoot about staying "on trend" or caring what others think of what I look like. I am my true, authentic self, and I'm fabulous just as I am!

Mia Benoit: You did a great job!!!

Para Dice: I would totally disagree with this video. I work as a door person and I see hundreds of people all day. The women with the longer hair who are older look amazing. The ones who have short hair look way older then they really are. Unless you really want to look about 80 years old when your only 60 don’t cut your hair! As you age your not going to always have full thick hair so you should keep the hair you got. Also covering up grays is perfectly okay as long as your going for your natural color. I agree with the synthetic wigs though! Those need to be out. Long hair looks way better because it’s not as hard to style. Shorter hair you have to up keep and looks too weird when it grow out. In all honestly most hair styles are stupid, if you want curls or braids that’s one thing but the weird cuts are dumb.

Stonekat Tie: I remember when my mother decided to stop dying her hair, then cut it short to get rid of the skunk look. She aged 20 years and looked sick. My father cried when he first saw her because she looked like she was going to die and it spooked him. He thought she was going to tell him she had cancer. Plus I liked how this video started out with no layers and short hair then ended with long layers and volume All of this is just bullshit.

Janet Duncan: I'm in my late 50s, and my hair is still very thick. I don't wash my hair every day, and I do not use a lot of style products. I'm not ready to go grey. I've tried but I can't do it yet.

Kathy Rogers: Considering arthritis and its impact on my joints, I have kept my long hair because I can not style my hair anymore. I am certainly considering wigs.

Amanda Turner: Wear your hair how you want. I've always liked really short hair, but that's my opinion. To each their own.

Somebody's Mother: I'm 72, and I wear my white hair short & wild. Takes two minutes to style. I have way more important things to do than messing with my hair.

Face Yoga Master 💕: As a hairstylist? Enjoyed the content!

Amitis Shahbanu: I like to wear a bun and use 100 year old silver brushes meant for long full hair. Braids end in a low bun. I don't do the wispy layers, all one length below the scapulas.

J A: I’m 52 and I’ve been rocking my grey since they started coming in at 16. I’ve had salt & pepper hair most of my life. I’ve been wearing the pixie cut since I was 36. I’m not the kind of woman who feels I need to change my hair style with what is trending. My mother hate my short hair, and it drives her crazy when I get complements on it, even her sister, my aunt loves my hair. Not sure if it will turn completely white like my mothers, I just know I will never dye it, or let it grow longer. I haven’t dried or brushed my hair in 18 years. Wash and ran a little styling gel through my hair with my fingers and I’m done.

Angela Johnson: This is a lot of BS !! I’m 47 and I love my long hair! I did the short hair thing in my 30’s and I hated it! It made me look older than I was! As for the gray. I don’t care what anybody says gray hair makes you look older unless you’re one of those girls in your 20’s that think it’s cool! They still look 20! I have naturally dark brown hair and I started going gray in my 40’s. It made me look old! So yes I dyed my hair dark brown like it’s natural color and guess what. I look a lot younger! Stop trying to make older women think they have to cut off their hair and go gray!!

Cat Bee: Oh ya, "rocking those grays"...you've got to be kidding me. Gray hair can be great if you have the right skin tone or eye color (and a professional stylist at your side 24/7). But for someone like me, with olive skin tone and dark brown eyes, I look like I'm kicking the bucket from liver disease. No, no, no. Some women can not "rock" gray at all. Not unless I want to look like I'm 95.

E S: I used brown colored batiste dry shampoo on my wigs that were too shiny. It tones down the shine perfectly

Dakota Shurts: I have waist length hair and 51. Not going to follow trends. Following my own way of life.

Joyce Sunday: The featured hairstyles were predominantly on younger/teenage women. Why not feature the ‘older’ ‘mature women with the hairstyles if this is the topic. Not helpful if not displayed with hairstyles on the women your topic targeted.

Jeannie Bartley: That was interesting next time get older models so it’s more authentic

gail crowe: I agree with most of the comments, the only thing I will say is that I think ladies in their 60s, 70’ and beyond shouldn’t have very long hair if it’s grey because it can look ‘witchy’.

Doug Myers: WOW! We all know it's vitally important to always follow the other fashion lemmings off the cliff, what a crock, try something new like DO WHAT THE HELL YOU WANT!

Louise Leite: I'm 54 and not ready to go grey, my black hair suits me, it's glossy and healthy so I'm keep it for now.

Lin A: I think bobs are old looking. I will never go grey because you have to have a really nice grey to look good with it and most grey hair is like mine, aging. I do think you should wear your hair the way want and depending on how we age means different things to people.

Angel In-Heaven: Blythe Danner, along with other celebrities, can afford to have their hair styled every day if they choose.

Bev M-L: As an older woman, I’ve gone out of style, so I’ll kiss wear my hair any way that suits me. I love being old!

joana dougherty mcGee: Minute 4:59 "It is imperative to stay up to date." I find it more important to stay engaged in life, intelligent, informed, active, and self-possessed, thumbing your nose to imperatives imposed by those whom we ultimately wouldn't respect anyway. Stuff your "imperatives."

CJ: I have 1980s/1990s bangs because I have a skin issue on my forehead and they cover it. Plus I also have a high forehead. Every stylist tries to side sweep them which exposes what I am trying to cover. Sorry they aren't considered in style by "experts", but they make me look better than the "updated bangs".

GrudgeFairy: I was considering getting a wig since I have the very real possibility of losing my hair soon. I currently have longish dark brown hair and had planned to grow it out but oh well. This video now is making consider getting a hat, wrap or something.

D M: A lot of women lose a lot of their hair as they age. I know I only have about 1/3 of what I had in my 40's and about 1/2 of what I had in my 50's. I'm 66 and my hair is mostly one length and it's a bit on the long side.

Germany X: Beyoncé DID NOT propel wigs

Sandy H: ,Would have been nice to see “older” models for these hair styles.

Brandy Baker: Oh shit, I'm 46 and just cut off all of my hair last week. Loads of compliments.

Christine Ince: judging from this video we are classed as an older woman from age of 28.

Connie McMurry: None of these for older women looked too good to me.

Monchichi: There's a rule, more older more shorter, and it lasts decades, there's some extras, but really few percentage of women, who will look good with long or/and silver. There's nothing more silly, than mature women wear girlish hair. Will any of them use teenage cream at the age?! No! Full grey will ad 10 years minimum.

Teresa Manley: i'm now wearing my hair a bit shorter, shoulder length, because long hair became brittle on the ends of my fragile naturally curly hair. i prefer it longer, but can't seem to have it that way any more. my only sin is keeping my hair a natural blonde color, the color i had for the first ten years of my life. i am refusing to go gray! even if if have to wear a shorter length, i must be a blonde. this is my desire, and i will try to follow it.

Dantay Hylton: Let me guess the 80s did that look and you want it to come back like a new trend not surprise again.

Robert McLernon: I have a friend who is 72. She still has the long hair style she had in college. Parted down the middle, it flows over her arms while she is sitting, and she is very beautiful.

Julie Rocha: Just as in your makeup, clothing, accessories, hair is personal and if it makes you happy I say you do you Boo!

Jason Jones: It all depends on the person. As a former stylist I can say that ppl believe things about their style that are hilarious- what looks good or bad. All the ppl here claiming they don't care came to a video about trends... lol. You do you but you may also look ridiculous, grumpy and outdated

A1977ification: The moment a woman cuts her long hair to look younger, she is officialy old.

Shannon: Long hair adds years to your age. hahaha That's the line they use to get insecure women to cut their hair short. Whenever I see a woman from behind with a short bob, it instantly screams 50+. Women have been brainwashed into thinking a cute, short bob makes them look younger. Wrong. Try again.

Margaret Drew: I am 75 and have my hair in a bob I think long hair on older people does make you look older . It keeps the hair in better condition.

Belle De Caucase: Do what you feel like doing!

Renee S: As if we can get haircuts right now.

Yvonne Baur: Hair stylists will ALWAYS push for shorter hair, which keeps women returning to give them more business.

Southern Bel Canto: Beauty Books Bags & More: 2020:Do what you want!

Maggie Smith: I am 63 and have long hair that I dye out of a box. I love it and will have it cut shorter when and if I ever want to I take no notice of what ‘experts’ have to say be yourself and look how you want to look. Have a good day.

Shelley OBrien: I’m 75 and personally don’t give a . I know my hair, and what looks best.

Midlife with Sweet T: Love it. So many women keep the same cut for WAY too long. Having a younger stylist and changing up you look occasionally just keep you modern and fresh. If your hairdresser is the same lady that you had 30 yrs ago, it may be time to change it up.

Ellen Brown: Not that you'll listen, I'm 73 I never plan to get it cut, like ever. I keep it dyed Blonde.

Schooling Diana: If you’re going to wear floppy, old lady, hippie hair—yes. If you’re going to wear long hair as an older woman, it’s got to be in a fresh style that mirrors the long hair trends in younger women—and fits your face shape. So I find this a rather disingenuous video and title. Frankly, I’m not wearing my hair short because all the old ladies that were teens in the late 70s-mid 80s are still wearing those, like they never got over high school or college. No thank you! Nothing dates you faster than short, short hair—unless you’re going for a full or half Viking side buzz cut and a dragon braid with the long part down the middle.

Paula S: This is great but they could have looked harder to find images of actual older woman with the hairstyles that look good. Why all the images of young people?

Kelly Kerr: Hey, we are all going to have to have longer hair for now. Stay home!

Buddy Ennis: Of course, if one can afford an expensive hairdresser, nice. There a lot of women who cannot!

Speedy Fly Girl: How funny I guess if you get older and you got gray or white hair do what you got to do, but I have natural hair color that I don't plan on changing I don't believe in dying my. This is the hair color I was born with and I'm going to keep it I cut my hair about 6 in every December.
