Regardless of your age, a gorgeous vibrant haircut is your right as a strong sexy woman. And don't think you have to kiss your long locks goodbye or give in to those grays. Expert stylists are weighing in on the most beautiful styles for their maturing clients. “Express yourself. /, whatever you do, /, whatever you do, ... ” Change it up. Stylists agree that the key to a great cut is being brave enough to try something new.. One of the easiest ways to look older is by keeping the same haircut for decades. As times and styles. Change don't be afraid to update your look. Hairstylist Jenna Mast has seen clients unknowingly age themselves by hanging onto the same style for way too long.. She recommends talking with your stylist about how to update your look. “I know what some of your big city, no-bra-wearin’ hairy-legged women libbers, might say.” Long, bob Top of the list, A clean classic bob., It's simple low maintenance and always in style., According to celebrity stylist Mitch, Stone anyone can rock a long bob, regardless of your age.. He says: ,'' A cut like this adds instant style and sexy sophistication. You can't go. Wrong.'' Mast recommends a modern bob with long layers for her mature clients, saying ,''. This will give you more movement and an updated look.. There is nothing more dating and high maintenance than a stacked bob that needs to be cut every few weeks to keep its shape.'' Shag. Baby Stone recommends bangs for any age, but especially for his more mature clients.. Bangs are always in style and can complement any face, shape — but make sure your stylist understands your face, shape, first. Stone, says ,'' [, Bangs ] can make you look really young and sexy or make your nose or forehead look twice the size. It's important to Make sure you trust your hairstylist before going for it.'' Stylist Ruth Roche often suggests her mature clients go for bangs that are long and wispy saying ,'' Have them trimmed, often, rather than cutting them shorter, so they last longer. Fringes that are too short can look utilitarian And boring.'' “Shall we shag now or shall we shag later ” A little longer Think you’ve got ta, go short as you age No way, Jeff Stump owner of Artkiteks salon explains ,''. Many people feel that they need to have short hair as they get older.. This isn't always the case. It really depends on the texture of the hair and how [ it ] ages.'' Short ‘n sweet If you're ready to get rid of some length go for it, Stone loves it. When brave clients want to ditch the length saying ,''. If you want to go short, say: Audrey, Hepburn, Halle, Berry or Mia Farrow, I love that.. It is an instant style.'', Damian, Santiago, co-owner of Mizu New York salon agrees., He says ,''. I have many mature clients that wear everything from cool pixies to razored bobs., A mature client with a strong inner confidence can rock any cool and modern look.'' “I got tired of my long hair., Simple, ” Layer up, Judy McGuinness, senior stylist at Mizu New York salon Likes a light, layered look explaining ,'' In general, softer haircuts, look good on older women. Any length you like, but be sure to incorporate some soft face. Framing layers. !'' Mast agrees that layers are always flattering but recommends explaining exactly what you're looking for with new layers.. She asks ,''. Do you want layers to help with movement? Do you want to see more texture Does having more layers help you with styling Hairdressers, speak a more complicated language, than'a few layers'. So it's easy to have miscommunication if you're trying something new for the first time.'' “Just, be very, very, very careful Mr. Stephanie. Cuz. As we all know, no one really cuts my hair, except for Alejandro.” Amp up the volume Our hair tends to thin as we age. So adding volume with layers is a great way to keep a healthy youthful. Look. Roche recommends Pureology Fullfyl a `` 3-step system that creates full-bodied hair with lived-in texture that actually looks and feels like more hair.'' Talk with your stylist about the best product for your hair type and thickness. “I know it sounds crazy, but it’s gon na change. Your life.” Forget the frizz. Maintaining shiny, sleek locks keeps our styles. Looking youthful. Roche recommends using a smoothing product to tame any frizz.. She uses Pureology Colour, Fanatic 21, benefit spray and says ,'' Always blow dry with the nozzle moving from roots to ends to smooth down the cuticle and increase shine. Youthful hair is shiny, !'' Nail your color Even more important than the cut is a youthful color. Roche Recommends changing up the color as your hair changes with age.. She says: ,'' Color is key. Keep it dimensional with subtle. Highlights., Solid colors, especially dark, can lack dimension and vitality and tend not to complement skin tone.'' Stone agrees on staying away from the dark, colors saying. `` Softer colors, like golden blondes and gorgeous reds, are great.. The biggest mistake is going too dark. !'' “My, hair’s, blue., It’s blue.. I have blue hair.”, No matter what color you choose, going a shade or two lighter instantly nails. A younger look., Celebrity colorist, Kelly Cardenas, recommends framing your face with highlights to brighten your skin tone.. He says: ,'' Tonal change is also important — you want to stay within 2-3 shades of your target overall color, as a higher contrast, creates the opposite effect.. Lastly, the highlights need to be blended in almost an ombre effect opposed to large chunky. Pieces.'' Sexy is timeless When choosing the right haircut focus on your type of hair — cuz. You can rock a chic and strong style at any age. McGuinness, says ,''. If you've gotten older and your hair has thinned quite a bit, then going for something shorter will help make it look much thicker.. I like a strong bob for finer hair. !'' Roche agrees with the classic bob in a vibrant color for any age, saying ,'', Something understated and simple makes a statement without trying to'look' younger.'' “Don’t matter, if it’s long short /, do it do it with your hair, /, your hair /, your hair” “I whip. My hair back and forth / I whip my hair back and forth” Thanks for watching Click, the List icon to subscribe to our YouTube, channel. Plus check out this other cool stuff. We know you'll love too

The List: Which haircut fits an older woman the best?

Marimilitarybrat: Very well presented. It would be more effective with actual "mature" models.

tessamersus: When I go to the hairdresser, I give him the freedom to do whatever cut and style he wants to try out on me. I've had some real doozies of haircuts over the years, but they always were eye-catching and easy and quick to style. One hairdresser wanted to take me to his State Boards Certification process in another city!. Alas, I couldn't go, but I got rave reviews from all my coworkers and friends -  and even strangers wanted to know where to go to get my hair cut. I doubled his client list because he deserved it! Once in awhile, when you get your hair cut, give the guy/gal the gift of letting them do whatever they want. If you don't like it, slick it back or cover it for a week or two...let go and have some fun! ! LOL It's fun to let go once in while.

E J: I'll add it again as an older woman WHERE ARE THE OLDER WOMEN in this video

Jill Starland: Short hair makes women look older. The reason younger women want women over 40 or 50 to cut our hair is because they know we will steal their men with our sexy attitudes, body and hair. Suck it, gals.

crypticcurls: And yet again, we a video all about older women that is mostly full of young women!

Midlife Credo: I'm 54 and am going totally natural in color. Mostly because I KNOW I'm too lazy to keep it up, but I kind of like the color it's turning.

Glitter 47: I didn't see much for curls. Bummer! As I get older, I actually embrace my curls more than ever. Face framing layers for sure, but I am allowing the length to grow. I refuse to look dowdy, so short hair is not for me. it's gorgeous on many ladies but not on me. Color is super important and to keep up with it. I prefer dark because of my medium, although Scandinavian, skin tone. I box color right now because we are on a tight budget, but as soon as we can afford it, i'm going in for professional color.

Es Malski: Nothing wrong with grey hair!!! I have a full head of long grey hair that I love love love and get compliments on almost daily!!

bewren1: It's nice that this included maybe one or two actual older women...

NewmanE: I’ve lost 1/2 my thickness since getting autoimmune 5 years ago, would love to find a product that really works but they r all full of chemicals

pat miller: Informative ... maybe try using older women in the video rather than younger women ... helps the audience to see how the looks will look on an older woman rather than leaving it to the imagination.

Desiree Louis: So what styles look best on older women?! I don't want to see the stylists faces or their comments on the screen- what a waste! Show us the friggin' styles, already!

Whippy99: Bangs and shags have entirely different meanings here in the UK!!

E P: So basically every hairstyle in the book will work

Sandra Marques: I'll need a fan to get the windblown look...oh dont forget the two hairdressers in my bathroom

shammy dammy: Shouldn't your hair color depend on, I don't know, your complexion? I know I can't do red, even though I am a natural dark blonde.

Michele Wesche: I had a lot of people tell me to cut my hair I'm 49 I can care less other people's opinion does not and will not define me. I hate short hair only because it's to much work my hair short sticks up and is hard to control.

Rottie Rumbles: Says styles for older women, shows nearly all young women!

Ann Power: Hilarious, these are NOT Mature women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joyce Fortin: What I'm finding, now that I am over 60, is that we really don't matter. It's sad to say, but true.

Niva-Or Ruvio: Thank you for the info and great tips , I have a question? What’s the name of the blond model you choose for the cover of this video, would appreciate your reply :) thank you

Hedgemist: It's right about stacked bobs. You only really see them on older women, hence they are aging. I'd never have one.

Cindy Thomas: Your models are not older women! How about some respect for the boomers who are rocking silver hair!

S: This video was definitely NOT for older women.

dori elshani: so beautiful

Terese Weir: Pointless. Your oldest model is like what? Twenty-five? Oh wait. This is HOLLYWOOD. Twenty-five is practically dead..

Paisley Szu Szu: Yes well look at the people giving the advice I have had long hair since I was 20 and can't stand short hair so I am never having it. I will put it up in a bun or wear it to my waste either way it is always going to be long even when it is snow white

Tina Rider: Jane Fonda hair style one of the best...but is difficult to find a real good hair stylist...:(

WynterTyme: no one ever talks about white women with natural very curly hair! new styles are not out there for us unless they want us to straighten it. I love my curls but cannot find anything new.

plonis almony: Your hair stylists look older than your women!

Carmen Dawn Allan: I'm 50 Now,And My Hair Will always Be Long. . ♡.

Joany11 Swatch: Get rid of the gray !!!!!! I really don’t know what this trend is with middle aged women letting their gray grow out. I think it ages women 10 years and quite frankly i think it looks hideous !! This whole lovely silver is BS. That’s just people being polite rather then honest.

Rita Heilig: There is not one picture of an older woman in this whole video!!!!

Christy Culver: I wish it showed older women

Julie Haines: Why not show older women with the haircuts, why the very young ones, they look great whatever hairstyle?

One of those Creative types: Where are the older women? I was expecting women in their 60's, 70's, and 80's. They're important and want to look beautiful too. What a terrible insult to women everywhere. Very disappointing.

RJF: When the name of the video lies about the content I make a mental note on who the creator was and I bypass all of their videos going forward

Elder Mountain Dreaming: YOU SHOULD give into grey... grey is beautiful and its hair that is healthy and shiny and chemical dyes are BAD FOR YOUR CROWN CHAKRA

montanacrosses: What is the Hairology Full Feel system?

montanacrosses: What is the Hairology Full Feel system?

Jessika Piche: What piss me off is that now, it cost a fortune to go to a salon that do 'style'... women i know just cannot afford it anymore...and so, they stop looking their best...sad really.

Sally Warne: Yes young women - with thick hair, as always!!!!!!

candice german: From what I noticed mature women can wear all the different hairstyles as before ?

She Wheels: Would have been great if you could have matched the images to the script.

Clothes Mentor Arlington: If you're going to do a video about haircuts for older women, you should use more older models and not a bunch of twentysomethings!

C Doxie: If I put long layers in my medium bob, it flips up in all the wrong places. I have thin hair, but a lot of it. Does not work for me. I'm pretty much stuck with the one length bob. Pretty boring..IMO.

Linda D: #monat has all the best products with no parabens, sulfates or color

Sysop 22: Haircuts That Look Gorgeous On Older Women - But WAIT!!!! Where are they then?

jjconc: Those women don't look 50 or over.

Synnøve Steinmo: I'm changing my hair all the time, as I have almost no hair at all. Very thin, and very few. Today or tomorrow I will get the hair cutting machine loaded again. Now my hair is licourice, when short I don't know.. 2 cms. May keep some in front. Just for the record, I'm 58 and have a tattoo. And love dogs, and love people rescuing dogs, I guess you don't have any idea what I'm talking about. There are dogs left out in the woods, even chained out in nowhere because their humans don't 'care' for them anymore. I'm sorry for the rant. Sorry. Thanks

Sky Eyes: Be nice if women pictured were over 50.

Suz Tyler: What a laugh this is....Show older women.....not the young chickies.

Frank Burgoyne: Just what are women with naturally curly hair to do? All of these you tube videos seem to show straight hair styles?

ilove carrie: so I guess they mean every style!?

Moxie Vintage: This channel is great at non-specific advice. Yay. More meaningless videos on YT.

RenegadeTimes: The closing hair song is funny when the majority of black women wear other peoples hair.

Claudia Ibanez: Hey im 50 and was looking forward to watching this video. Very disappointed I thought mature women meant 50, 60, 70. why show younger women theres plenty of videos with younger women, show all older women.

BeeDeeF49: 90% of the pictures of this "older women" video are 35 and under.

Kalinin Dippy: I watched in wonder as a parade of a hundred or more lovely women crossed the screen yet I counted eight possibly could be over 50. Isn't the subject of this video literally "Women Over Fifty"? Think about it...

Vivian Garber: Young models and professional makeup jobs....come on, get real by the time we get to mostly Greg we're down to eyebrows (maybe), eyeliner, and lipstick....you're catering to women who have time and money for all that mess. How about something simple to care for for( for that arthritis problems), cheap (for that fixed retirement income) and enough to help us feel better when nobody calls, everything hurts and everyone's rude be cause you're old and slow,

Chris Devene: Even a computer talks to us older women in a condescending manner

Irene Gonzalez: Use models 45 and Older? LOL I'm a Hairdesigner

Mary Kay: Where are all the older women in this video....I though I would finally see something worth watching....NOT !!!

Sybille Housler: What the heck I expected to see some hairdos on older women instead of seeing the 30 year olds and you're looking pretty darn good by the way but really

RH celtic: where are the real women of age in this?

Jakie Bourg: You are showing women i their 30's & 40's. A real insult to real older women

Monique DC: Totally not real. 20 something models, male hair artists.... where are the older women? (rhetorical question)

Bluewren Reilly: Those hairstyles don't even look particularly good on any of them.

Bird Chirp: How come most of the models in this video are younger?

01Sweet Delight: good but not enough hairstyles and colors please add more

Linda Gear: If you are talking about hairstyles for older women show older women, excited young models bouncing up and down doesn't work and is pointless.

Abdullah Hendricks: U all stunning beautiful woman in the world ameen

Sharon Dunham: You need to change the title of this video, if you aren't going to show the older women and their haircuts.

Sandra Willemse: Older women? - where are they? Why do u use younger models- pointless.

Debbie Thurston: Why use young models to show Older women hair?

Elaine Cloutier: How about real older woman, some off those are not old!

Lorina Gaylen: You would have had my interest if you had appropriate models and photos for the topic. Stopped watching withing 30 seconds.

Mia Vos: 'Older' .. is that like in older than 25??

Evening Star Quilters: IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO A VIDEO OR OLDER WOMEN WHY NOT USE OLDER WOMEN FOR YOUR MODELS ?

claudette dalton: seriously.........just enjoy God giving us health.............and being alive and a woman regardless ive seen long hair on older women and it suites them i seen short hair on older women it doesnt suite them no matter just enjoy ladies love God life ur children ur grandkids ur hubby boyfreind just enjoy life...............period xox

Debbie Guitor: Very disappointing video, where were the age appropriate models rocking the recommended styles???

Raquel Levin: Im in my late 60s, where i live all the beauty Salons i go to, none can do a good bob. I haven't found any to do me a good bob. Thats gets me pissed. Although i look great for my age (people tell me) i still want a bob. Hmm

Anna Lisa: Lets' see a few MORE examples of real OLDER women instead of a few. Most here are in their 30s

Robert Ward: You started to talk about long hair and then ran from that idea.

Dorothy gauvin: Don’t they see us... they will all be over fifty a lot sooner than they realize....

Annemarie Staudenmann: Where are styles for women with curly hair?

Shelley Zurek: Useless. Hardly any women over 50 featured.

C.M. Hansen: not one older woman among the models. why? pointless!!

Linda Watkin: Where are the older women.I prefer short hair for myself,a 70 + lady.

Gina Cable: None of those styles were new!

KT: A bob looks good on any age...i don't think so. It's so played out

Just Call Me Hanna: Where are the mature women in the video, as promised?

Sandra Willemse: all the models are young women!

c Pt: TERRIBLE VIDEO... all the "hair ideas and styles" are on young women. SMH

Bumble Bee: I do agree with all of you all about young people just like an tv when they advertise face cream and also exercise all young people why then to they think that older women they are going to run and get it so disappointed

Naomi Hills: thinking short cut, and silver highlights...

Chlarie Peace: Long hair is more sexy

Patsy Riggs: very disappointing.. I am 74 and my hair hasnt gone grey yet, just a bit over the ears. My hair is very fine texture and my crown flat.. I never find any advice applicable to me.
