Since 2014 is closing in on us, and 2015 is just around the corner, I would like to recap on some of the most notorious 2014 hair trends…
We’ll start this list off with the ever-so-popular….
Short and Spikey
I honestly hated this style when Miley first did it, but now we can thank her for his adorable short, sassy style. This style is also known as the “undercut,” and I have a feeling it will be going strong through 2015…
Short Wavy Bob
Many of our favorite celebrities from Beyoncé to Scarlett Johansson rocked this super cute style this year.
Ballerina Bun
I see a lot of people around town wearing their hair in a ballerina bun like Ms. Hyland. Here is a wonderful tutorial on how to achieve this very same look.

The center part has finally made another Go-Around. Woo hoo!
Comb-Over with Line
I tried to keep this post directed toward women’s hairstyles (since men are a lot less likely to read blogs about beauty), but this style was HUGE in 2014 with the guys. I did this haircut so so so many times this year. It was made famous by Portuguese soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Full Bangs
Full bangs have also made their way back to the fashion scene, although this has been going on for a few years now. I have to say that I am loving this look!
Lob (Long Bob)
The “Lob” has been on fire for the last year or so. This is a very popular look of 2014.
Long Layers
I’m not really sure that long layers ever really go out of style, but, nevertheless, they are popular this year.
Straight and Sleek
This is yet, another style, that has made its way back around. Straight, sleek hair always looks classy, in my opinion.
The Undone Updo
If you search Pinterest or YouTube right now for “Undone Updo’s” or “Messy Updo’s,” you will find countless tutorials on super cute, fun styles. The beauty of this style is that you can do them any way you want. Anything goes!
Mermaid Waves
This is another style that rarely goes out of style. Here is a tutorial:

This is a combination of some of the other styles that I previously posted, and if you made it this far, congratulations. I’d have to name this style the most popular hairstyle of 2014.
Are there any other great 2014 hair trends that I left out? Do you love these styles? I’d love to read your feedback in the comments section below.
