But here’s the thing… The first day of school is all about making that perfect first impression. I mean, it kinda sets the stage for the entire school year, right?
So in other words, it’s imperative that you nail down everything from the perfect outfit to the flawlessly coiffed hair on your head. But how ever will you style your hair this year?

These are pretty much the best back-to-school hair accessories since they ooze trendiness, and they can easily be incorporated into any other hairstyle. Oh, and they are super affordable. Pick up this pack on Amazon for less than $10.

2. Chunky Side Braid

But even better is the chunky pancaked braid. It looks fancy AF and it’s incredibly easy to do at home. You just need to know how to do a basic Dutch braid (which is totally achievable with a bit of practice).
Once the braid is in place, you loosen it up. It’s a sweet little hack to add tons of volume to even the thinnest hair.

3. The perfect Messy Bun
📷Credit: @paigewright_This is pretty much my go-to hairstyle. It’s super easy to do and perfect for the typical lazy girl (like me 🙋🏼♀️).
However, it can also look incredibly classy and trendy if done correctly.
Before I show you how to position the perfect bun, I want to let you in on a little secret… You see, I have baby fine hair and my buns are pretty tiny.
However, I recently purchased a Hairart Hair Wrap, which is a fake hairpiece that wraps around my bun like a scrunchie. When I’m wearing it, my bun looks 10X better. And you’d never even know it was fake!
If you have the same problem with fine hair, I couldn’t recommend this hack more.

Since bob haircuts and lobs are more in style than ever, I have to say that this one one of the best hairstyles for medium hair for school.
It looks so chic and finished, but is really easy to do.

5. Top Braids

It’s a really easy hairstyle for school and it totally adds some oomph to your overall style.
Now…there are a few ways to create this look. If you want to go the “festival braid” route, it may take a little more time and practice… but I promise the payoff is worth it.

6. Pull-Through Braid

7. Upside-Down Braided Ponytail

Two Little Girls Hairstyles has a great tutorial, but you can also flip your head over and do it that way.
8. V-braided topknot

Missy Sue shows you how you can create two “V” braids on the top of your head. Lead them towards your crown, where they can connect to a high fountain ponytail or messy topknots.
9. Down With a Twist

To complete this look, you just have to wear your hair down (it can be wavy or straight). Twist a few strands from each side and pin them in the back.
This look from laineymariebeauty is slightly more advanced but still uses the same concept.
10. Dutch Braid Pigtail Buns

To create this look, part your hair down the middle and Dutch braid each side down the middle of the section. Fasten the rest of the hair into a low bun at the nape of the neck. Don’t forget to loosen up the braids to give them more volume.
