Okay, so if you missed the video, I just came from Becca a little bit of a trim and shifted the weight in her hair, which was mostly back here. I layered it a little bit impression at the ends to sort of encourage the hair to fill in around the front, so she has a lot of hair, but it's on the fine end of the spectrum. So if you want to watch that video I'll include a link to it in this blog post, but in this video we're going to be focusing on styling fine hair and I'm going to address some questions that you all asked via a Facebook post. I put on the blog Facebook page, so I kind of went through and grabbed the most common questions that you asked. So the first one was how to get a lot of texture and volume in fine hair and - and that is a common problem, especially with teasing, because sometimes you can see the teasing in the hair definitely done with that. So what I did with Rebecca is put a quash uplifting foam right at her roots. That comes with a very specific pointed nozzle. For that very reason, if you want to use it on the rest of the hair, you can just spray it into your column and work it throughout, but for her, since it's best right at the root to pop them up. I just sprayed it around her crown and above her ears and then put the rest of her hair. I put about a nickel sized amount of Kevin Murphy's anti-gravity oil free volumizer. So this is a very light product, which is what you want to look for with fine hair, but adds a nice amount of thickness to it. That you can't really feel so when you're looking for products for fine hair and you need them to be Moose's or light products to incorporate air and not be like a heavy serum or heavy creamy product and in terms of using like a leave-in conditioner. And that sort of thing I would advise to focus on having a really good heavy conditioner, if you need it in the shower and avoid leave-in products, just because those will add weight to the fine hair. So to add a little bit of texture and curl to her hair, I'm using a 100 quarter inch barrel, curling, iron and I'll just do some loose with beachy waves throughout her here. So if your hair doesn't hold curl very well use a really light flexible hairspray or a setting spray on the sections before you curl. So I just put some loose waves in her hair and then raked through with my fingers and use some Bumble and Bumble dry. Sponge finish so this is a texture spray. Another texture spray that I talk about a lot is amicus undone texture spray. This was a little bit heavier, but I wanted a lot of texture in her hair. So if you like, a lot of texture, try to Bumble and Bumble product if you want something a little bit lighter or you're nervous about using it. Try the Amika undone texture spray, but I did this just to soften up her waves and give it a little bit of thickness throughout the middle of her hair. She'S got pretty plenty of volume from the Aquash, but I wanted to add a little bit of bulk around the bottom. So one of the questions I get asked the most is how to tease, hair and specifically, how to tease fine or thin hair. So the benefit of teasing is it adds a nice pop at the roots and add some bulk. It can also create a really nice foundation if you're going to pull your hair, half up or work on an updo, but with final thin hair. You can see the teasing sometimes, and you definitely don't want that to happen. So, if you're going to tease at the crown, you want to just focus a little bit at the base. But if you want to add thickness and bulk throughout fine hair, you can be a little bit more dramatic and fluffing with it in sort of the middle to bottom, half of the hair, so to add some thickness and bulk to the middle use. A wider end of your comb and just pick up the hair from about the middle of your head and just fluff and as the hair is pulled out of your fingers as you're teasing. That'S when you're done with that section. So this isn't a very concentrated, specific teasing at the root, it's more just fluffing and sort of incorporating air and bulk into the middle part of your head, and this is awesome if you tend to have teasing show if your hair is really fine. But this will add a nice bulk around the middle and then any hair on top will be lifted up, because all of this is wider. So to finish her, I'm just going to use a little bit of kenra buying 25. This is my favorite hairspray. It'S a strong hold, but it's really label - and it's raining here today, so there's a little bit of humidity somewhere curls will continue to soften, but the key in dealing with fine or thin hair is the products and I'll list a few of my favorites and and The blog post, but you can see she's, got a lot of volume and texture and while this will sort of soften and relax throughout the day, the base was what we focused on and that's what you want to do if you've got finer thin hair. So I hope these tips were helpful for you and big thanks to Rebecca for being my model today, you

tina: I found that on clients with fine hair that a teasing brush works better than a comb. It's a bristle brush but very thin an/or skinny. It gives a looser tease but incorporates more hair. When using a comb, for me I just thought the comb was giving a more harsh tighter tease which in turn makes it harder to hide then. I always follow with a finishing spray after I get the tease in also. Great site, good tips!!

Lauren Welch: I have super fine hair and it is always a pain to style and keep volume and texture in my hair. i am loving this video. these simple and easy techniques will def help me out.

Amy Liz: These videos were awesome and so helpful! You honestly have such a gift! Would love to see more like this! :)

gold zipper: Such a helpful video - thank you! I have really long fine hair and have started to notice that it looks thin and lifeless. I'll have to try the bulk teasing you did. Also, Rebecca is gorgeous!

Jami Neeld: I love these videos of you doing a cut and style. Please do one of crazy wavy/ curly/fly away unmanageable hair

S. C.: Love your videos and understand you recommend salon products, but are there any good options that are more reasonably priced than these?

The Cup of Tea Blog: Ah, fine hair. The bane of my existence. Although I think I can better tackle it, now! My issue is that my teasing usually works its way out because my hair is fairly slippery. Would texturizing spray help to lock that teasing in? Great video Kate!

Margaret Isme: luvvvvvv this video. hope you can do another for thin fine hair again. thank you.

Nicole PD: Great video-would love to see a list of the products you used in the video. Thx!!

Holly Sue: OKAY. When you are curling a section of hair, you touch the hair wrapped around the iron before releasing it-sometimes a couple times. Are you checking to see if its heated all the way through?

Kacey Batterton: I liked the fresh change of the haircut video and this styling video. Very enjoyable to watch!

Samantha Shira: Are there any tips on making curls last more than one day? No matter what I do at night to help protect them they just go flat and straighten back overnight.

Crystal Monique Zoller: It would be great if you could do a video on fine naturally curly hair. :-)

nutcracker 29: I have fine hair, it seems to look thicker when I dye my hair a Brunette colour. I suppose the darker hue, gives the impression of more depth. But the annoying thing is, illogicallly I prefer to be blonde although I know it empathsises the thinness.

bridget remsing: Very helpful! thank you

Lisa Hays: Love her cut - and the styling you did!

Zanet Swartz: My hair tends to flattens out after a couple of hours. Even after teasing. Is the bottom to heavy? It is just flat on the top. Any suggestions?

Harry Jon Hair & Makeup: Great video! I hate the feel of the root lift products - i opt for a setting and volumising spray instead.

LaurenML: Thanks for this informative video. My hair is super fine. How can I find a stylist who knows how to style very fine hair? Any suggestions?

Micaela Rachelle: Thanks for all the tips

Aryn Crisman: Any tips on refreshing fine hair between washes?

saphy1230: question! I have fine hair and sensitive skin. no matter what I've tried shampoo or conditioner wise I break out around the bottom of my hair line, my neck and around my ears. Also by afternoon my hair ends up oily. it's a10 leave on conditioner send to work fantastic but i still get breakouts. any suggestions???

Kristalyn Loftis: What hair spray or setting spray do you recommend?

Sheryl Voit: what is the brand of setting spray/light hairspray that you used in this video?

Shaffro: Seriously thin fine hair is almost impossible to style. I guess that's why I rarely see videos showing really baby fine, thin hair.

Cara B: May I ask what paint color you have on the walls it's beautiful! xoxo C

Tara Lynn: She makes great videos. She seems like such a wonderful person.

iliabug1: Can you please let me know where that mirror on the table in the background is from? LOVE IT! Thanks

A K: This is great thank u!!!

Caroline Calcote: I have fine hair, so always looking for tips! I did not see the products listed in the blog post, as you mentioned.

Tracy Roy: Thanks Kate. I am curious though how long that style lasted before it went limp?...:( Just a girl looking for some long term volume and wave/curl.

Meredith: Rebecca is stunning! Are you sisters? Beautiful ladies. I'll definitely try some of these tips out...lighter product for fine hair seems like common sense but I never really thought about it in that way. Great tips!

Mrs.: I have fine medium long hair what size curling iron are you using here

Susy VP: I loooovvvveeeeeee your videos!!!!!! <3

Doodlebug: I have fine hair but a lot of it. My issue is because my hair is so slippery when I curl it it falls, if I tease it it falls but looks matted, if I use hairspray it falls but looks and feels crunchy. Tips?

Malin: Good video overall, but it was a bit disturbing to me when they only filmed half the head of the model

Barbara Angele: I AGREE. Great video and presentation but I learn so much from viewers questions but looks like she does not address those.

Melody of Psalm 94: On both of your videos, you don't show the back of the hair  when it's done!
