Step 1. Stretch out coily hair before straightening.

Step 2. Place each section in the centre, so plates can gather hair.

Step 3. Experiment with section size, to see what suits your hair best.

Step 4. For thick or curly hair, take smaller sections.

Step 5. For finer hair, take larger sections.

Step 6. Glide through hair with slow, even passes.

Step 7. The plates flex, so there's no need to apply excess pressure.

Step 8. To get closer to the roots, take sections at an angle.

Step 9. If your tips are thinner than your roots, style roots and mid-lengths first.

Step 10. To align shorter hairs, tilt plates slightly inwards.

Step 11. To shape ends under, rotate 45°.

Step 12. Reduce temperature around delicate hairline.

Step 13. For a bouncy fringe, lift then pull down and under.

Step 14. Shape sides under and away from the face.
