I keep flying all the time that you look at the strands of their hair and it's like probably popped about there, and all of this is thin because of the heat. Well, the blow-dryer is important too, when you're using the heat they're using like higher than 1800 watts and a lot of times, it's not a ceramic dryer. If you got burned by them, it hurts more than if I tap you with this Flatiron a little bit. It'S like that, he fits with you. So that means that if 1,800 wattage of a blow dryer is higher than that, it's the same thing with the iron being 450, so you know I I think they have their purpose. My sister has very silky curly hair. She could go to them all day long. Her hair will be gorgeous. Nothing would happen most of us in this room can't and the technique. We do it all the time to our clients, standing our Caucasian or have straighter hair, the Asian. So, whoever, when we get clients that don't have our hair, we round brush them because it gives them a fuller look but to try to pull out your hair and make it straight. That'S not a good technique. In my opinion, I mean, which is why she was saying, when you blow-dry your hair at home, to make sure you have a water bottle handy so that you can keep your hair wet, because if it's dry and you don't pull it through the dryer you're doing Whatever it take to do it, which is what they're doing on whatever texture I'm not knocking a technique, it just everything, doesn't work for everybody, which is why I don't really go for it with our textures of hair. So and then did they use product that you could read the ingredients and labels most of the time they don't. They use a lot of Italian brands and a lot of their products are alkaline like where you can't even shampoo with you have their gloves to do it. I'Ve used the product lines that they have if they're alkaline, that's making it easier for them to give you straighter hair, because products that are alkaline are chemicals. So, if we're talking about the pH scale again in its 114, 7 being neutral, anything past 7 is alkaline. Alkaline, that means that's your relaxers, your colors, and if I'm going to use the shampoo and a conditioner, that's alkaline Wow. Do that a whole bunch of times and if one time can do it. Imagine if you keep going what's going to happen, so it's just we've kind of figured out the technique that makes us comfortable with the majority of the client that we have and we know what to do with the clients that don't have the same thing either. So I want to really knock it because then it sounds like I'm like knocking the more than one way to skin a cat in our industry, and that's not what I'm trying to do. I just want you to be knowledgeable of what works for your hair and then obviously be

Ashley Rankine: I think it also depends on which one you go to. Some of them do actually take precautions. The one that I go to use creme of nature, garnier and it is a lot of products that i use. I think it depends. There are a lot of black Dominicans also within the salon itself

ella85ful: Thats why I do my own Hair. The majority of Dominican Salon where I live, I notice that they cover the vent on the blow dryer just half. They do this so that the dryer is hotter which burns the hell out your hair which causes damage to your hair. But I must say that not all of them are bad just hard to find the right one.

Robert Coca: Ur so proffesional...with out any malice .ur straight up Classy . lovely lady

Leanna Samuels: This is what KILLED my hair:(.now im transitioning to bring it back to life

Robert Coca: Awesome

I Am Butterfly: This is not true..First of all Black and Dominican hair is the Same..Dominicans are Afro Caribbean people..They use a technique where rollers and deep conditioning are used and then straighten out the bumps from the rollers..I have gone to black salons and they never cut my hair properly they act like they are afraid to cut hair..Damaged hair need to be cut not tiny small snips on the ends..As far as heat goes..I’ve never been burned at the Dominicans but when u go in with very dry very coarse hair ur gonna need some heat on it..Especially when u want it bouncy straight..The amount of heat used on a silk press would kill my hair.,And another thing I pay anywhere from 25 to 30 dollars to get my hair done why black salons charge 50 and 60 for hair styles and they want tips..In my opinion the roller set technique is better for your hair than a blow dryer and flat iron and under the hood with Saran Wrap..Talk about heat

pinkblackbrown: Terrible in the long run.

Alex Murphy: I take offense to these black women talking about my people. What technique do you talk of mami? My stylist Maribel washy conditon the hair put the re rollers and blow at roots and un tubi. No heat on them length. You are upset. Maby at a cheap salon, but you afro womens have many salon.byou know the one where the pound the grease and fry you hair flat? You should talk about those also. Simple put there are good and bad dominican salon as there are good and bad black.
