Hi everyone, I'm hairstylist Amanda shackleton and today, I'm here to talk to you about the temperature for straightening irons. A lot of people don't realize that there's a difference between the irons that you buy say in your local pharmacy as opposed to the irons you buy at a professional Beauty Supply. But the difference is very, very apparent when you go to straighten someone's hair. These professional irons that I use are iron's that go up to 450 degrees and it sounds like a really crazy high temperature. But if you don't put the iron up to 450 degrees, you're, never going to get curly, hair or thicker wavy hair straight. So what I like to do, when I'm straightening is let the iron get heated up, take a comb, bring the hair through the comb and as I'm moving the comb down, take my iron, which is heated to 450 and just slide it through just like that.
