I saw that Kristen Ess came out with an at home hair gloss. It takes 20 minutes and comes in clear as well as a few other tones. They're $14 at Target so watch this video to see what I thought about it. Thank you so much to anyone who watches my videos and supports my channel. It really means a lot to me.

Hey guys, what's up welcome back to my channel today, I am going to be reviewing a at-home hair gloss by Kristin s for those of you who are maybe new to my channel. I am a licensed hairstylist, so I thought this would be pretty interesting to review and talk about news. I think glosses are amazing. If you don't know what a gloss is. It'S basically like a clear topcoat for your hair. It just kind of locks in a lot of shine and it's kind of just like clear color. You know how, after you get your hair colored if you've ever had your hair color and how it's just very shiny and glossy, and just like new, fresh color for like the first wash or two that's kind of what a gloss is going to simulate. Is that, like just colored shininess without actually recoloring your hair? I got this from Target calm. I believe that's the only place you can buy. It is through Target. I paid fourteen dollars for this gloss, which i think is pretty reasonable, especially considering my opinion on it. Honestly, this does come in a couple of different color variations. It comes and I think, an ash toner and a bronze toner and a golden toner. She does have kind of more like tone refreshers, which i think is super great. Obviously I can't vouch for those because I haven't used those and probably won't since I am a professional, I use red Kent owners say shades eq line, that's kind of my favorite toning system that i have found so far. But let's go over what you actually get inside of this box: it comes with two bottles inside it. The first is the number one activator. This is going to be developer. If you will of this product. This is what is going to be the catalyst that develops the color, since there is no colors, so clear gloss. The second thing you get is the clear gloss at solvent, and that would be the color so think if you were coloring your hair, the number two would be your color number. One would be your developer, that's kind of how a gloss works. I really appreciate about this at-home glossing system, is it is pre-measured, so all you have to do is mix these two bottles together and shake it up and you're good to go kind of a no-brainer. It takes the work out of having to like sit there and pour and measure out your own color. I love that it does come with a pair of gloves but again since it is a clear gloss, so you don't necessarily have to wear the gloves, but if you have any cuts at all on your hands or anything, it will burn your skin pretty badly. So I still suggest that you wear the gloves. This is an inch, our gloss, meaning you can just hop in the shower. Get your hair wet, throw the gloss on since I wanted to show you guys how to kind of apply this gloss or how I decided to apply it. I decided to just wash I just dampened up my hair and the sink and then can't show you guys what I did all toners are best applied wet in my opinion, so it makes sense that the first step is to wet your hair. It does not tell you to wash your hair as similar to what hair color you don't have to like wash your hair before you color it. It'S not really necessary to just stamp in your hair and then throw the clear gloss on it. Split my hair into two different sections to do this to just have better control once I split it in between top and bottom. I split it in between the left and right side of my head and then I just kind of took my hair chunk by chunk and sprayed the gloss over it. Using zigzag, motions moisturized it and, like you, would any conditioner or shampoo just pretend that you're sitting there rubbing it into your hair, I started out using a lot less product, then I could have used. I just wanted to make sure that I was gon na. Have enough, since my hair is on the longer side, to my surprise and delight I had plenty of product to for my whole head, I did avoid my root area, because it is definitely time for me to recolor my roots right now. There is no color on them, no bleach, they don't necessarily need a glossing treatment as much as the bleached parts of my hair. So I avoided my root area entirely one, but I did have so much extra product. That was a relief to me. That was really nice. I didn't think that I would have that much left over, but I really did a couple of problems with glosses in the past that deal with a developer or an oxidizer, something that speeds up the color or is a color catalyst in any way. Lifting my hair to green, we tried to do a clear gloss from Redken on my hair using 10 volume, and it definitely started lifting my hair to a green color. That is a byproduct of the purple color. That is on my hair. It'S a really long story, but in some different purple colors that I've tried out over the years and just experimented with they have like a metallic dye and then that has a green base to it, which is like near impossible to get out of your hair. Just to avoid metallic dyes at all cost, if you can, but sometimes I use two products I don't know, has that in it as a result, any time I've gone to lift over that piece of hair or maybe overlapped, bleach or done a gloss that has a Oxidizer in it has lifted my hair up to green, so I was kind of wary putting this on my hair, like, oh god, I hope they don't get green hair from this. To my surprise, the delay I did not, I didn't get green hair. It didn't change. Color at all, while it was processing, I left it on for the allotted 20 minutes to be a super frank and honest', since it didn't turn my hair green and it didn't really feel like anything when I put it on it, didn't feel like instantly smoother or Softer like it would with a conditioner, I had pretty low hopes for this product. I didn't really think that it was going to end up doing too much and I rinsed it out at the 20 minute mark. I probably could have left it on longer and it would have been fine, but I washed it out right at 20 minutes when I washed out the gloves so much of my purple washed down the drain with it. It was kind of shocking to me, but that usually happens on my first shampoo anyways. They always constantly am using a colored conditioner every single time I wash my hair too punish the purple color that I lose when I shampoo it up an entire playlist. On my youtube channel talking about my purple hair, if you want more information, please check out that worked really hard on it, but if, by some crazy reason, there's some unanswered question leave it down below. I will reply as soon as I see it, but after I started shampooing my hair and rinsing out, my shampoo no purple was coming out, which was really shocking to me, but also a really good sign that the gloss has sealed my hair and just locked it There is no purple in the bubbles which is really really rare and, honestly immediately after I got out from washing my hair started, brushing it out. It was honestly so so smooth they already noticed a difference. I didn't put any hair product in my hair whatsoever, so it would stay exactly just the gloss and I could have an unbiased opinion on what the gloss was doing so a bit about my hair before the gloss honestly, my hair is pretty dirty in these shots. This is like my seventh day hair. This is what it looks like at the end of the week when it's time this is what we're working with is got a fair amount of furs to it. I do have a little bit of wave in my hair and it definitely comes out if I sit there and work product into it. But that's what that little texture is definitely just kind of dry and frizzy and poofy all around and not the best. You can tell she's definitely thirsty here now. Moving on to what my hair looked like after the gloss, I definitely noticed it was shinier. It was softer. You could run my fingers through anger much more easily. I keep calling my husband being like. Oh, my god feel here like touch my hair. My hair is so soft right now and it's not even that it's like softer or less frizzy necessarily, I don't think it helped to too much when it comes to the frizz factor. I think the frizz is about the same. It'S a dramatic of a difference, frizz wise, but shine wise. It'S definitely a big difference. I feel like it's so much shinier and just like it looks like it's been freshly colored, it looks healthy. It looks refreshed. Obviously, all I have on my hair right now is the gloss, and you can just see how shiny it is: there's no hair product in my hair. This is just that gloss and it's just so healthy and shiny. Truly nice, honestly, like that, looks healthy. It looks shinier. It looks better like it's just a healthier purple all around and I like it definitely recommend checking out this hair gloss like it just looks like pretty nice healthy hair. Again, it's kind of like faking, the healthy glow in a way to be super fair. It doesn't really specify on this box that will have less frizz at the end. It does specify that you will have more shine at the end and it specifies that if you want to see it more shine, enhanced hair to use this so feel like the product description is pretty spot-on. It definitely did help enhance shine if you can't tell it by now. I would obviously highly highly recommend this product. I think it's wonderful, especially at the price point for $ 14. This is a treatment I would probably charge like $ 40 for in the salon. You'Re. Definitely getting your money's worth, but at the same time I do feel like it was a good quality product. It'S nice, that it doesn't lift your hair up at all. So you don't have to worry about it. Changing your hair color, some hair glosses like the red. Can one that I spoke about earlier does kind of lift your hair like a shade or two, so it is really nice knowing that this does not change your hair, color whatsoever. It just makes it shinier, and I really really love glosses that do just that. I think that about does it for this video. I don't know how much more good things I could think of to say about this. I like it a lot, there's no distinct smell with it. It doesn't smell like ammonia when it's processing and pretty positive yeah. It'S ammonia free too, so great! That'S why it doesn't spell her and this when it's off oxidizing we're processing, it's great! I liked it. A lot would definitely rebuy in the future. Definitely would recommend this is wonderful in between colors and between color appointments. Just to give your hair some life and vibrancy back to it, I really enjoyed it a lot if you liked this video or appreciate this review and give it a thumbs up, leave your thoughts and opinions down below and love talking to you guys, there's so much And, like I said, if you have any questions about my hair or anything whatever at all, check out the purple, playlist I'll also leave a question down below.
