That is whether you are a part-time braider or you a are a full-time writer. This also is going to depend on your availability. Some of us can only do here on the weekends. Some of us can only do here in the morning some people - some of us - can only do here on our on our days off or we have another job so that you're gon na have to take that into consideration. Also, it's gon na be about your availability. Overall, some people don't braid at night, some people don't braid early in the morning, some people brave when their kids go to school. Again, this is going to depend on you. Also how much you make depends on it's going to depend on the styles right. Every styling cost the same, but we know that when it comes to style, some styles can be 50. 100. Some styles cost upwards to 2 300. So that's going to be up to you. I do have two videos where i tell you guys how much you should be charging right, so you might want to look into that and that segways me into the next question. I usually get. How much should i charge right again? This depends. This depends on the industry standard like if somebody is charging 150 for box braids, you know, depending on who you are, you might can charge something like that. Now i did do a video about dope panna and she did charge for somebody to get the knee length. Braids she charged, i think i want to say, seven hundred dollars again only that description, i'm gon na leave that that uh, i'm let that slide up here. I'M gon na leave it in the description below and you guys will see why dope panda can charge. That kind of money - okay, but how much you charge depends on the industry standard? What is everybody else? Charging it's also going to depend on your skill right if i can do box braids in three hours and you take four hours or six hours to do box. Braids, i could probably charge a little more than you do because, as far as my skill level, it might be more than yours or i might do two layers, and it might take me two hours to do two. No, it could take me two hours to do. Two layers, but you could do two hours late to two layers in one hour, so you can charge more than me again because of the skill level right, and it also depends on what's in demand, depending on when you see this, video they're always going to be Different hairstyles that are in demand so say if at this time right we know that the what is her name court cor lee ray. I know i know our daddy benzene all that, but if you charge a certain amount for that because her hairstyle is popular right now, so you can charge a certain amount right, but overall you have to know what the industry standard is. What'S the it thing right now and you decide, but as far as charging like i said, i have a video, it should be in the description below, but it depends on the style, but you can charge somewhere between 50 to 700, depending on the style of the Hair, depending on how long it takes you, depending on the demand, okay, this, the third question that i usually get is: do i need a license baby again, this is going to depend on your state, so what i did is i actually have a video here on Youtube see, i got the video, i got the video job you need friend. That could depend on the technique. So for my natural hair stylist for people who do not know there are things called sister locks, you cannot do sister locks unless you are a have a license. You'Ve been trained by them and you pay for an affiliation as being a sixer, lock technician. Okay, so having a license and the levels of licenses depends on your state, it depends on what kind of hairstyles you do with techniques you use, and i need you to check with your state. Okay, do you need a license in majority states honey? You do not need a license, but i do not want anybody out here doing anything illegal. I don't need you breaking the laws. I don't need you. You know. We know that people do what they gon na. Do you gon na do what you gon na? Do? Okay - but i just want you to be in the know about what you actually can do as far as braiding or natural hair styling in your state, so check your state out again check out the video i have. The next question i usually have is: do i need to use social media with the real? What y'all really asking me when you ask this, what y'all really asking me friend? Okay, my brain bosses, hair. You know my my natural hair stylist. What y'all, really asking me is: do i like to use video? That'S what you're really asking me, because a lot of people do not like video people do not want to get on video. I don't know what it's about. I don't understand. Honey people will twerk twice, but they will not get on video to show their braids to show their business off. So, yes, you have to use social media. Yes, video was king. However, the way you can kind of get away with a little bit not having to be on video, so much is you can show your clients before and after if they will, if they allow you to and if they're willing you can cover their face up and Show their hair before you started their hair and the after, but you need to use social media now when you guys are also asking me this question, i think what you're really asking is. Do i have to be on every single social media? No, you do not! You do not have to be on every single social media. Here'S why every single social media does not make sense to a braid business or a natural hair, styling business, so you should be on instagram right. If you also teach braiding, you should be on youtube. I don't know what you're waiting on boo you playing. Okay, youtube, instagram, facebook and the reason why facebook is big is because facebook has so many dimensions that you can use. You can use the business page, you can use it as a regular page and we're going to talk about it, but facebook has its own things that we can utilize right. Facebook, marketing place and facebook is linked to instagram or metaverse whatever they want to call it. Now but you need to be on social media, you cannot get away with not being on social media, because when you do people's braids or you do their natural hairstyles people are going to want to know. Do you have pictures? Do you have video? You know they're going to check you out. Do you have a website? Where do i book, you make sure you guys are checking out my last video, where i showed you guys how to set up your squarespace or your acuity because it's randomized first face, but you you set up your acuity scheduling, so people can book you. They don't need to be. It doesn't need to be confusing on how people should book you, but the answer to do. I need social media. Yes, you need to use social media and the last, but not least, which is my favorite. Okay is how do you get clients, social, media, okay, and you need to be marketing your business and advertising your businesses. These are not two of the same honey. These ain't the same. I have a few videos on how to get clients and all of that again, i'm gon na link one up and i'm a link one below, but you need to be advertising your business, so advertising your business is just letting people know i'm in business right. You just putting yourself out there out there letting them know hey, i'm such a such i do such and such, and this is what i do. Okay marketing is actually like. You are putting yourself out there with the means and the idea that you are looking to book clients very different things and in order to get clients, you guys have to start doing advertisement and marketing both free and paid, free and paid. You see i put paid in bold because i think a lot of people are under the impression that everything you do as a writer is free, free, free, no boo. Everything cannot be free and i'll share with you guys. Some of these ways, there's there's craigslist. There'S facebook marketing place, there is instagram, there's facebook, where you can advertise both free and paid, and if you say every week, i'm going to invest 20 dollars in ads just twenty dollars and that turns into box braids 450. You just turn 20 into 150 honey like what are we doing here? What are we doing here? Honey? What are we doing honey baby? Do it like it might be? Maybe, but now it's all serious seriously, you guys you have to start marketing your business and advertising.
