Braids versus weaves, should you do both? Can you do both? What are the benefits? What are the cons, what kind of clients you get we'll get into all of that today in today's episode of brady's talk, so let's get into it, hello, everyone and welcome to my channel if you're new, welcome, if you're old, not old, my gosh, if you're a Returning subscriber welcome back, thank you. If you're new today is an episode of raiders talk, which basically means we talk about behind the scenes, the life of breeders so yeah, let's get into it today, we're going to be talking about braids versus weaves. Like i introduced briefly, should you do it? Can you do it let's get into it? Can you do it one? Absolutely, if that's what you please by all means you can do both. Should you do both we gon na get into that one in that one you'll be able to decide at the end of the video? So what are the pros and cons about so i'm gon na share a bit of a personal story for me when i first got started. If you watch my other episode of braids talk, you know i talk about, which is the first one, i'm gon na upload. It somewhere here just five things i wish i need before i started doing hair, which, if you know my story, when i first started, i was so eager to grow my skills and just do here so braids, wigs, we use crochet. The real question is: what didn't i do but yeah anyway, i did everything because i was just so eager to grow my skill set and just grow my business that, like anything, you told me to do. I was there. I looked up the video. I figured it out and i got it done anyway. Looking back, i'm like interesting choices. However, now, a few years, almost a few years, only two years online, i have developed my niche, which basically means what i'm known for. I am known for more so braids knotless, braids and soft locks. That'S just what i do now weaves and wigs. I don't really dabble in that anymore, maybe down the line i might but not anymore anyway. So i'm going to share a bit of my story when i first started like i said i was a witch. I learned everything. Let me take my butt down. My butt is heavy yeah, that's better. Anyway, like i was saying um when i first started, i think was out in a bunch of things. However, there was never one concrete thing that, like i was like a b style or like a hundred percent, i did braids braid. That was only like fifty percent uh crochet, maybe like seventy percent. We use maybe like sixty percent, but there were a bunch of skill sets that i had and if you ask me, can i do them? Yes can i do them to the best ability? No - and i don't want to have five skill sets on my plate, that, like i can't even i can't even pick one thing and accomplish it to the best of my ability. So that's when i personally decided you know what you're going to take braids and sorry. That'S when i decided you're going to take braids and stuff and you're going to focus on that and you're going to grow your business. So that's what i did like i said you don't want to have a bunch of skills. That'S on your palette that it's like diablo and you can kind of do all of them, but like kind of like mediocre, ask you don't want to do that. So that's one thing that i decided that you know what i'm going to focus on. One thing: that's something: to take into consideration number two: if you see me looking down, i'm just looking at my list right here, because i don't want to miss anything number. Two, your social media, social medias, are very important, which you know what should i yeah? I'M gon na make a video about social media and great business and how to help yourself grow your business and your client telling you yeah we're gon na get that but social media. Personally. For me, i like to have a certain aesthetic to my social medias. My instagram instagram is my main platform, but, like i like to have a certain aesthetic i don't want. I want people to see the page and like just at first glance, they could tell okay, she does some fire ass, not those phrases like. I want me to see my page and know. Okay, this is what she's got. I don't want you to look at me like, so what is she got? I mean her. Braids are kind of good. Her weave is kind of good her. This is kind of like i want you to see my work and just know. Okay. This is what she does and that's it if you decided to dip with apple, you will have a variety of styles on your page, which is a good thing. However, personally, for me, like i said i wanted to have a specific aesthetic. I wanted to just be one thing that people see one or two things that people see on my page for, and they just know, and although braids and weaves they're, both hair they're a bit different and they carry different, looks and they're different type of clients. I will get both, which is another thing that we're going to talk about today is the type of clients you would get. The clients that get braced are not the same clients. I get weave, that's something that you want to look into and you want to think about the kind of clients you want for your business personally. People that get braids and my experience are people that, like everyday people, they got their regularized. Five not regularly announced five, but like they're just everyday people. They just want to get up and go. They don't want to have to do much like at most. They want to tie up their hair in a scarf. They just want to make sure that their hair is protected and in about six to eight weeks, they come back, they get their hair done and that's just how it goes for them. That'S what they like to do, however, with your wheezing wig slime. You have people that, like they're, okay with maybe straightening their hair, they have to do a little extra work to make sure that their weaving wigs look nice. They might have to come to you more often for a touch-up and stuff like that. So that's something you want to keep in mind and another thing with the types of clients that you're going to get with another benefit, to like picking like braids and weaves. Another benefits that is that with braids at most, you can maybe do about two or three people, maybe four, if you're like really really pushing it and at that point, you're, probably finishing, like 2 3 a.m. In the morning, however, with me, since it's only a two to three hour process, you can knock out more clients. During the day you can have like five, possibly six clients in a day, and you still get to use to get to bed in time like it. Won'T be, you won't be like up to like freaking like 2 a.m or 3 a.m. In the morning, however, a braids, you will be up a little bit longer if you decide to knock about four or five clients in a day. So that's something and what braids are on your feet? Longer it's a longer process. I don't think i want to do it on my body. I don't think you want to do that on your body. It takes a long time on your body. If you do that, like back to back braids in one day, that's a lot of work so yeah so like i was saying, wear braids, you do see less clients in a day, but we use you do see more. That could also be a money thing for you. What we use you can see more people in a day and get more money. However brave. If you price your braids with braids, you might not see the much clown which might not equal the same money. It can be equal depending on how you price it, and the amount of time that you spend doing maybe two weeks give me the same amount that you charge for someone that you spent one time doing. Braids, that's something they got to take into consideration as well and also like. I said what we use. They'Re. Probably gon na come back for touch up, so you see them more often you might get a little extra cash, especially like sew-ins and stuff and closures. You might use they might need to get like their glue touched up, their reuse, titan and stuff like that. So that's definitely some things to keep in mind now. What are the benefits for you as a stylist? Let'S get into that as well too. What are the benefits for you as a stylist as a stylist? Personally, i'm not going to shame nobody. This is just my experience. I'M going to talk about my experience, but personally for me as a braider i feel like i can be more creative with braids. I can do different colors, i do color blends, you can do freaking triangle, part diamond parts and stuff like that. That'S just what i like to do. However, we use it's a it's usually the same braid part braid patterns mostly want to do either leave out closures. Frontals, like there's only so much you can do louise. This is my personal opinion. I don't want to offend nobody, i'm just saying but yeah with me. I feel like with braids and softballs. I can be more creative. I can do color brands. There'S traditional braids, there's not always phrase, there's long, they're short, like there's, of course, there's that aspect to those who leaves as well too, but i just feel like i can be more creative with braids and that's just how i value it. So that's something that has so that's something else as well that you want to keep into mind, which one will show you more creative side. If you want to be more creative, if you think about the money aspect too, which one will make you more money in a quick amount of time, you got to think about those things as well. That will help you narrow your decision on. Should you do both and just to kind of recap in this, like i said i did both at first, there was nothing wrong with that. I did both. However, my skill set was never up to above, where i needed to be, and i want people to see my family like yeah she's, a freaking beast and knowledgeable she's, a freaking, not a beast, but like there you go. You know, maybe something like that, but yeah. So yeah, that's one thing that i like was like. I really want to do and i just felt like i could only grow one skills at a time, maybe down the line in the future. I might go back into leaves and deal with job on that a little bit or personally, i just knew i wanted to grow my skill at once and if you have like five things that, on the same place that you're going at one time, it's not freaking Easy and you just got to figure out which one you want to do at once and i say run with that. One and i ran with braids and it's worked out so well for me, if i do say so myself, but yeah anyway. That'S all from me. I hope this has helped you out. You heard on your decision. Can you do both absolute freaking movie? Should you do both that's up to your discussion because yeah, my tip, should have helped you a little bit but yeah. Should you do both that's up to you? Like i said just to wrap it up with both you're gon na you're gon na get different type of clienteles, people without like more so they just want to get quick and go because i don't mind doing the extra little effort in the morning. Those are different type of clientele. If you think about it, money-wise too, how many clients can you knock out a day to make the most of your time get the most money that's going to take into consideration as well. Social media, aesthetic is very important, especially if you want to grow your business. Do you want it to be all like just random styles up and down, or do you want to find a different, a specific style that you like run with it? And people know your aesthetic people know your niche, they know if they come to you they're, getting literally the best work ever that's something to take into mind as well. You also have to think about the benefits for yourself creativity-wise. Will you be able to be creative in which you do? Are you more creative in braids or, more afraid of leaves that's something? You also want to take your mind anyway. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I hope it's helped. You come to that decision or at least helped you out a little bit in that decision, but yeah. I thank you guys. So much make sure you comment down below what you'd like to see from me in the future for greatest talk and just tutorials in general. I have another one coming up this coming week next week, yeah you guys to see me again and anyway i hope you enjoyed make sure you like comment and subscribe and make sure you follow me on instagram. It'S called it's me to hair underscore it's pretty simple and yeah. That'S all. I hope you guys all have a great day and bye
