Hi i'm t cooper, i'm a new york city, makeup artist, hair stylist and i'm co-founder of beauty and grooming company metrolog. Today, we're going to talk about hairstyles that involve sculpting sculpting hair is just pretty much trying to create a shape that your hair doesn't necessarily go into, and sometimes that takes well, not sometimes that always takes a little maneuvering. So i've gone ahead and i started teasing my model's hair. That'S a really great way to um sculpt, some hair because it kind of gives it a lot of height and you can manipulate it. However, you want - and i'm going to show you how to tease. So i left this section out right here, unteased just for you, so i can show you how to do it. So first thing i like to do is i like to spray before i tease some people? Don'T it's optional, but i find that it works out better for me that way i spray before and after and then you just back comb your hair like this, some people just do it like that, but i like to do it this way and you can go Up as high as you want, because you're going to smooth the part on the outside out anyway and no one's going to see all it, but you need to build somewhat of a rat's nest. Underneath and you know it's a good effective tease when the hair sticks out on its own, look at it from the side that hair is not going sticking out on its own. That'S how you know, that's a good tease and you can always kind of flatten it. Some but i like to always start out with too much height than not enough, because then you're going to have to start building it all over again, i'm going to use this section right there too, i'm not going to tease this too much, because it's in the Front, so we don't need that much height. Now, i'm going to go in with my styling paste just run this throughout the hair. This also helps sculpt and it helps to get some of the flyaways in the front. She'S got a lot of baby hairs. I guess because she's a big baby she's got lots of baby hairs and, as you can see, i'm sculpting with my fingers and it's creating a shape right now, just me going through it with my fingers. What i'm going to do is i'm going to come underneath here and i'm going to do a twist and i'm going to poke the hair inside of the twist just to hide it. And then you go in with your pins, of course, and you secure the toy style. So it's not going to stay. Put i'm going to do one more and then still you can still go in on the sides with your fingers just to make sure the hair is going where you want it to go, you can even pull at it tug at it do whatever it is that You feel you need to do in order to make the shape something that you like. This is what hair sculpting is all about. It'S about making the hair, what you want it to be in this little piece. On top i'm going to pin that in there grab some more of my trusty styling paste. Did you see that i dropped my pen, but i have plenty more there you go and now we have a elegant, beautiful french twist and we've got a lot of cool texture going on in the front from sculpting the hair beforehand. I'M t cooper and thank you so much for watching you

Dragonflys Ridge: Thank you for this video. I wish you had worn a lighter or contrasting shirt. It's hard to see her dark hair against your dark top.

summertime690: Please stop opening the Hair pins with your teeth. It’s very unhygienic.

Lynne Jones: that's a pretty hair style.
