Aveda How-To | Heatless Overnight Straight Hairstyle

http://www.aveda.com/product/5290/4472... Get shiny, straight hair without damaging your hair using a straightener. Aveda Artist Paige demonstrates in this hair tutorial how to create a heatless straight hairstyle along with some tips for using Aveda Damage Remedy Split End Repair.

First, shampoo hair with Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo. Apply Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight, which progressively straightens curls with every use, to damp hair to prep. Part and comb hair as Paige does from ear to ear, then secure with pins and allow to dry overnight. In the morning, when hair is dry, gently bring hair down using fingers like a rake. Apply Damage Remedy Split End Repair to mend split ends.

[, MUSIC PLAYING ] Hi everyone., I'm Paige.. I am a stylist at one of Juut salon, spas and I'm so excited to show you how to do the heatless straightening.. So, for you, curly girls like me, or even if you just have a little bit of texture you're looking to get rid of this - is such a great technique to be able to save time and energy and also keep that heat. That'S not so friendly off of your hair., So I'm going to go, get a quick, shampoo and I'll be right. Back. Start by applying Smooth Infusion, Naturally Straight to your wet hair, starting at the ends and working upwards. [ MUSIC PLAYING ] Section out your hair at the crown and secure it with clips to keep it out of the way. [ MUSIC PLAYING ] Working with your Natural part take small sections of your hair using a fine-tooth comb to really smooth it. Down. To smooth the hair, use the shape of your head as a roller.. The fine teeth of the comb create tension, that's needed to smooth the hair and helps it keep the hair in place. [, MUSIC PLAYING ]. If you have fine hair, try using larger sections.. Since I have thick hair, I'm going to use the smaller sections. Unpin, the pinned-up crown section and comb it into the previously smoothed sections.. Since I'm going to be sleeping on this, I pin the hair in place to make sure there's no movement and it holds overnight.. It'S important to have a scarf with little slip, so I suggest avoiding cotton to prevent shifting with your pillowcase. [ MUSIC PLAYING ]. Now that I've slept for a full night on my hair and I'm sure that it is 100 % dry, I'm going to go ahead and take it. Down. [, MUSIC, PLAYING ] Using your fingertips, apply a little Damage. Remedy, Split, End Repair and work it through. Just the ends of your hair., It's best to use your fingertips instead of your palms, because a little bit goes a long ways.. You can apply it just where you need it.. So for finishing off my heatless styling, I simply use the leave-in treatment of the Split End Repair.. I needed a little bit more attention on my ends and it left me feeling instantly repaired and polished off. If you need to feel free to use a hair spray or anything that will give you a little bit more hold.. But for me this is absolutely perfect.. [, MUSIC PLAYING ]

fairy: This is what a lot of people do in Cuba to achieve straight hair, start with your hair maybe 80% dry and it also works to use a pantyhose instead of a scarf as it’s super thin and helps the hair dry faster overnight, if it’s still wet in the morning just add a drier on the cold setting.
