Easy Updo (Short Hair)!

Hi everyone, it's beth from sweethearts hair and welcome back to another tutorial. I have a new model. Bailey is on strike and i don't blame him. She'S done months through lockdown, so georgia, the lovely george, has stepped in she's, got shorter hair. Now, georgia, i'll put everything in the um description. Uh george, is on instagram and she's also got her own company called just the label. Beautiful jewelry she's got some on today, so i thought we would take the opportunity without having shorter hair, to show an updo really simple, really quick, you don't even need to curl the hair if you don't want to and great for occasions and weddings that are coming Up now so, let's get started, so all i've done guys to prep george's hair. Is i've used a tool? You don't have to use this, but it just makes the hair light and fluffy and have volume and i've used la la's in prep tool and what it does. It just gives a slight indentation to the hair i'll. Take it out to show you. So i don't know if you can see on camera guys, but it's basically just got a really small, almost like a micro crimp and i've just taken that all the way down george's hair and it's going to make the hair super easy to work with. Now i'm going to make this style as quick and easy as i can guys, but i am just going to leave out some bits so always try and zigzag when you do that, so you haven't got that perfect line. Okay, i'm going to leave these bits out and i probably will just give those a little curl at the end, but again that is optional same on the other side, so the difficulty with shorter hair is sometimes these pieces by the neckline at the back can be Really short, even shorter than george's. Actually so what i'm going to do is to sort of create that updo. Look, i'm just going to take that section of hair. So if you imagine that this was even shorter than what george has got just i'll just pop this bit out the way for myself, i actually saw another version to this style um. I think it was on instagram by another braid and i thought that's actually a really clever idea. So i'm going to take this section of hair, i'm going to lift it off the neck to give that illusion of like that updo effect and i'm just going to pop an elastic in there and then i'm just going to soften it by just teasing the edges. Just so, it doesn't look too severe just pulling those down. Obviously, if they're very short, you'd have to be very, very gentle with how you did that and how much you were pulling out and then i'm just going to almost create a little bun. So obviously, if the hair is super short, it'll almost be like a little tiny tuft there. But george has got a little bit that i can actually wind around so a little tiny bun. I'M just pinning that in now we're not actually going to see this bun. So don't worry about it being all beautiful and neat and no bits sticking out you're just kind of creating a little base for yourself really. I release this hair down now, because i've used la la's, prep tool. I'Ve already got that nice bit of volume in the hair, and so i'm not really going to bother today with back comb. But if you felt like the hair was flat just go in at the very root of this top area. Here and all i'm going to be doing is taking this top section of hair and we're going to do a french braid, just a plain french braid. If you really struggle doing a french braid gather all the hair and just do a normal plot. Okay, i'm going to break this into three quite gently over the middle over the middle over the middle, i'm just going to stop there for a second and because i want this to look a bit more updo, not too breedy. I'M just teasing that section. Now i'm ready to add in hair, so i'm just going to grab a big chunk because we want this to look kind of effortless and we want it to be quick and we want it to be easy. So just keep passing that over taking another section of hair, adding it in and i'm not worrying too much about it being all perfect, i'm just using my fingers grabbing that hair in i want it to be not too tight, because i don't want it to look Like a school braid, but you need enough tension in that braid so that you can tease it out without it all becoming loose, so i'm just getting to that bun area. Now that i'm going to completely cover over in a second i'm just going to breathe down. Obviously little bits will start to come out because the hair is short. Don'T worry too much about those because we can pin them i'm going to go down as far as the hair will allow me and then i'm going to pop an elastic in and then all i'm going to do with this tail guys is just kind of twist. It up and then we're going to attach it onto the bun and you'll just pin that braids into the hair. So then, what we want to do is just kind of go into this style and start to just create a sort of more of an updo effect which is basically grabbing the strip. The sections creating a little bit of texture messing up that braid a little bit, making it more interesting to look at any bits pop out like that. Don'T panic! Because what we'll do is we'll just get a little grip in a minute and pop those back into the style s out. So this bit is optional. I'M just going to curl these front pieces and kind of like randomly pin them in and probably leave in a few bits out just to frame george's face. So i'm just using my styler pro um straightening irons, which i do love and i will just be bending the hair in. If you don't want to do this bit, just don't leave any bits out or you can leave bits out or aim, don't curl them. So it's completely up to you now the bits that are framing her face i'll, probably just do a bend rather than a curl. So these bits here now are probably just when i say a bend. Let me just move that wire for you. So when i say a bend i mean i sort of just clamp on turn it like sort of half like that and then almost just go down the strand. Can you see so it's kind of like that? More edgy, modern version. You don't want a sort of spiral curl coming down the front of the face, so we just kind of create that illusion of this softer updo guys. So, yes, i could have added this section into the braid, but just by kind of like pinning it a little bit like that, it's just going to give more of an updo effect on the side and again with this section here, i'm going to go a bit Lower with it, that is our easy updo finish, i'm going to do a little spin, so you can see from all angles.
