Hey everyone Kayley your friendly neighborhood hair, stylist here.. Today I am ranking every heatless curling method. I have tried on my hair over the last 10 years.. Let'S get into it. ( light music ). The idea for today's video comes from Natalie on Twitter and I wan na say thank you Natalie, because it's great., I have done so many different curling methods over the last 10 years here on YouTube, and I thought let's take a walk down memory lane and rank Them based on what works best to what worked the absolute worst., I'm gon na just give you guys some feedback on, maybe what I would do now to fix it ,'cause some of these are Green Sheet days, and now I know more than I did, and so I could help some more and also just which ones you should absolutely avoid and never do.. So that being said, let's get into it.. Okay, this very first video we have is from the Green Sheet days.. As far as I can tell the very first heatless curls or waves I ever did - and this is No Heat Beach Waves., Oh the music.. Oh no, I'm gon na need you guys to comment. If you remember this: music., Hey girls, Kayley here.. So today our video is for no heat beach, waves., Oh she's, talking so fast., Oh, oh, oh, oh! No! No! We need to stop.. We need to stop right, there. The eyebrows.. Why are they five inches apart? Somebody tell me why my eyebrows are five inches. Apart.. All right getting into the actual method, it looks like I wet the hair first, I did some leave in protection and then I did a blow dry. Gel., All good things still recommend all those things., Oh and I did a mousse. Okay, you might not need to do all that. And then I raked it through got my hair to 90 % dry, and then I did one version where I did a French braid And then I did one version where I did Dutch braids. And let's see the after. Okay, so here's the thing I'm noticing with this one right away is that I started the braid fairly far back on my head all the way back here, and so once it Falls forward, I do have really pretty waves when I turn my head to the side, which is probably why I used a lot of those clips because the waves started up here really well, but I had really straight pieces in the front.. So if I were to redo this - or if I were to do this today, I would start the braid a lot closer up to the front for sure.. Let'S see this double braid action, though, how did that one turn out Ooh? She got a smoky eye for this one and a big necklace.. I oof. Okay, so I know some people look so cute when they've double braided their hair and then they take it down the next day.. I do not think that is the look for me.. I don't know what went wrong here. I don't know why it's super crimped in some areas and not at all in others, but I'm gon na say that's a no.. Some pros to this hairstyle is that it is really easy.. Some of these require a little bit more skill with this one. You just have to be able to braid, and it looks really good on some hair types.. The con is that it doesn't work as well on fine hair, and I have fine hair, because fine hair is gon na show all of the little kinks and everything.. So it's not my personal taste for me, but I do think it looks so good on. So many different people.. So for that reason, I'm gon na put it right in the middle for now. All right. What did I do next Ooh? This is now the next setup that I had.. This is before the blue wall went up and this is titled Easy. Heatless Curls Tutorial. Does anybody remember when I had auburn red hair, I went dark brown and then I had to go back to red to get to blonde'cause. It was not the move.. Also how long and thick was my hair. What So much jealousy for past me.? Okay, so `` what you'll need'' These are old school, bun formers.. These were around so much around this 2013 area.. We were using socks, we were using bun formers, everybody had a ballerina bun., I'm saying step. One is to brush, then use something to add hold because my hair doesn't hold easily. Okay, so this one relies on a mohawk of buns., I'm wrapping it around the bun former and then I'm rolling it down to the head and then twisting it into a bun. Huh until there was a whole mohawk all the way down and at the very end I showed you how to do it with a bun maker, because again those were very popular., I'm gon. Na be honest. I don't remember filming this video, so I have no idea how this turned out.. Oh, that does not look good.. The ends are so sad. Oh no, It looks wet at the root. Kayley Melissa. You got ta call it out when it doesn't look good girl.. You can't just ignore that no no no. ( gasps ), That is a big frizzy mess. What is that Kayley Melissa? Oh, no! No! No! No no.! No! No! No! No! No! No! No no. Ana Laura. ( Kayley giggles )! Oh my God.! That is that's a lot. Wow. Wow.! No, no! No! No no.! I love past Kayley enough to speak the truth. Okay. So here's why I think that went really wrong.. First of all, I don't remember what that spray gel was.. I don't know how. Recently I had colored my hair., Whatever happened, there was way too much hold and not enough moisture in my hair number one. Number two. Those bun formers are rectangles. They're, very skinny and very wide. So it was like folding your hair around a block and hoping it would come out in curls And it didn't so yeah. That'S a no.! That'S gon na be a no from me.. Reviewing that one, absolutely no don't do that. The placement with the mohawk section might work with other rollers, but bun formers Heck, no techno we're never doing that, again.! No, no! No! No! I'M putting this one at the bottom, which is currently place number two, but this is this one's ha., Okay, moving right! Along.! Now we have Back To School, Heatless Curls, exclamation point., This one is August, so this is just a couple months after that first one. Man. Do you remember when YouTube videos were only three minutes, long [ Kayley In Video ]? Let'S go ahead and get started. Okay, so I am making a pin curl and I am wrapping it up. Okay and then I'm pinning it in place.. So this method is just making pin curls with your hair.. This is a very old school way to do. Curls.. This is how curls used to be done back before curling irons., Vintage, hair. Stylists still do this quite a bit, so this method is pretty good actually.. I don't know how it turned out for me that day., I think the only downside about pin curls like this is that they can take some skill to wrap correctly and to pin well because if you pin it incorrectly, you're gon na have a crease.. But if you're patient, it's actually a pretty good method, hypothetically., Let's see how this turns out. Last two have not been impressive. All right yeah. It is also key to put something over your head to keep everything in place that really wide headband was definitely the move.. Oh see those curls are so much prettier.. Look, the ends are pretty. The curls are actually curls.. This is our first successful curl example. Wow. That actually makes me wan na try that again., Okay, okay, okay. Aww, so cutie Wow yeah. I like those.. I think the only thing that I would change about this if I was doing it today, I'm going back to look at how I set that front pin curl.. I just think that that very front piece again needs to be a little bit tighter. But aside from that, I love it. Absolutely perfect. Go past, Kayley., First post that it works.. But the second thing is that you can really determine exactly how each curl falls.. So if you want some towards your face some away whatever., If you want little curls big curls, you can do all of that.. I think the only real con to it is that it does take some practice to do correctly.. But if you put in the time it can work and it can be really really good., I'm gon na say: ugh eh, ugh., Okay, I'm gon na put it right below braids., Even though this one looks better than that first braided, one that I did. I think, as far as actually doing it on yourself, the braids are probably a little bit easier and a little bit more reliable., I'm the rank queen. I get to put things where I want them. That'S where I want them. Now we're moving along to October of 2013. I did three in 2013.. My hair has gotten lighter progressively throughout the year, but we're doing nice little blonde copper.. Oh, my God, I'm doing braids, again., (, laughs, ), Okay, and this time I'm braiding closer to the hairline.. There you go past Kayley.. I still have that shirt. I love that shirt. All right. Let'S see how these turned out. Eh. It looks better than the time I did it before and it doesn't look bad, but can you guys see why it's not my favorite one? For me, Some girls take their hair down from braids like Ana Laura. She takes her hair down from a braid magic mermaid.. When I do it, it's just just a tiny bit deflated., It's missing that je ne sais quoi, you know Just ugh.. I still really like this method. I still think it really works well for people.. Let me know in the comments what your hair type is like, and if this braid method works for you., I just don't feel like it works for me.. So, even though I'm hating on this a little bit, it's still in first place and I'm just stacking this one on top of the previous one, because they're the same method, just two different videos. And moving along. Ooh. Okay, now we're getting into some new stuff.. This is Heatless Soft Curls Inspired By The Grammys. [ Kayley In Video ], Hey everyone Kayley here., So I thought it was about time that I did another heatless curl tutorial., Okay, my hair looks good though.. My hair was so full in this 2014 2015 region. [ Kayley In Video ]. Now for the method, I have something new to teach. You guys., I'm going to be using a T-shirt to create these curls.. So I made a Pinterest graphic for this.. I promoted the heck out of this.. This is probably one of my more successful videos and, as far as I know, I made up this method.. I was sitting there trying all sorts of different ways and this popped into my head., I'm not gon na say it's. The best I'm gon na be real honest, but I am proud of past Kayley for using her noggin to create something new.. So you twist the T-shirt and you put it around into a donut.. You put that on top of your head and then you wrap the hair around it.. It'S a simple idea in concept.. However, I have to say it's a little difficult in execution.. First of all, you have to balance it on your head.. Second of all, you have to wrap everything really really nicely and evenly around it.. And thirdly, you are wrapping everything up to one specific place, so this hair in the back isn't going to start curling until about this far out from your head., I got so many comments about how this looked like an 18th century updo or whatever and honestly you're, Not wrong. All right and now I'm taking it down and those curls are beautiful.. Oh my God., My hair does look really good guys.. Honestly, I don't know if it was the curling method or that my hair was just living its best life in 2015, but either way those after shots are some of the best work. I'Ve done. Pro is that it is better than the bun makers or putting your hair in a scrunchie first or trying to do it with a headband. Cons, balancing a halo on top of your head and that I really think there's no way for it to work. On short, hair whatsoever. Could not do it with my hair length and it does kind of create curls that only frame the front of your face. So you have to bring your hair down over your shoulders. That aside, it creates a ton of volume. It creates really pretty waves, I'm into it. I'm gon na put this one. I'M tooting my own horn a little bit, but I think I'm gon na put this one in front of braids for the current first place: position. Alrighty and now moving on to 2016. Easy Heatless, Curls, Hair Tutorial.. These all have the same title.. Oh my gosh. Apparently, my hair was still going strong in 2016 guys.. Oh, I remember that sweatshirt I loved that. [ Kayley In Video ]. First, I used Flexi Rods and these are just Okay. So now I'm using Flexi Rods.. These are really popular in the natural hair community and they were starting to kind of pop up on YouTube a little bit more, so I decided to give it a try and I remember, really really liking it.. I remember this. I tried setting lotion.. I had learned a lot about it in cosmetology school., It's kinda an old school idea, but I thought I'd give it a try.. You guys never got the update on that, but after I tried it for a while, it just ended up making my hair kinda feel dried out and a little too hairspray-y, even though it wasn't hairspray.. So it wasn't a forever part of my routine, but it was fun to try out. Okay. So I'm splitting my hair into four. It looks like. Brushing everything up: spritzing, hair with water, adding setting lotion and then wrap it around the Rod and then twist the Rod. Closed., So this is not too different from the way that the bun makers worked, except instead of rolling it up at the top and then rolling it down like a sleeping bag. You wrap it around like a curling wand, which is a lot more intuitive, based on what we're all used to with styling our hair.. Also, this is a cylinder shape instead of a very skinny rectangle, which is definitely an improvement. Okay, so I'm taking it out. It's in a ringlet, ringlet., Okay, so then I'm taking it and I'm breaking it into little pieces and they look good.. That looks like the pin curl method curls, but it's a lot easier than doing. Pin curls.. I feel like these days. I might do that with a one inch Flexi Rod instead of a one and a quarter, inch.. Okay. So now I'm running my fingers through it and now I'm running a brush through it.. I feel like you, either rake through with your fingers or brush through. I wouldn't do both. Yeah. I don't think I would use setting lotion now to tame stuff.. I like to use an oil or a serum to tame any fluffy areas.. It does such a good job.. I remember I was taking a hair skin nails vitamin at the time. I need to look up which one I was taking and do that again ,'cause, my goodness, my hair looks good. That looked great.. The only thing that I would change today is that I would not use a setting lotion. I would use a mousse or just any product, that's meant for blow drying. That adds hold, basically anything that works with your hair type.. So for me, probably a volumizing mousse would be a good one. For somebody with a little more texture to their hair. I would say something very moisturizing and then maybe a moisturizing mousse or a curl enhancing gel that kind of thing., Because this method is more versatile and I could actually do it on my hair length. Now, I'm gon na put this one now at the very top.. Also, do you wan na see how much I love Flexi Rods, One sec. Flexi Rod, pack. The Flexi Rods from that video. Skinnier, Flexi, Rods. And just a couple more packs for good measure., All right, moving right, along., (, laughs, ). Now this is not so much of a heatless hair tutorial as it is me trying out the Sleep, Styler. (, laughs, ). This opens up so questionably., So you wrap the hair away. You wrap the fabric around and now I'm just giving it a little try.. Okay. I just skipped to where all of these are in, and this is like a full cloud around my face. That is so much bulk around you, oh my goodness., So I'm unwrapping taking down what looks to be the third one and that one is completely wet.. Oh my gosh and then that one that's second from my face is all kinds of crimped.. What even is this? I'M pretty sure this is the first time you guys ever saw rage Kayley on camera.. I don't know I don't what ugh. So frustrated right. Now. Did not expect to be rage Kayley this morning, but goodness gracious people.. It looks so bad, I'm still mad about it. Today. It's been three years and I'm still mad about it.. Okay, so I tried it a second time. Okay, so I did better the second time, but there are still kinks in it.. It'S just not good guys.. No, we've seen enough of this. I think. This was just it was not the move. Okay, so I just wanted to include that one, because it was a heatless, curl method. I tried., I don't think it went well mm.. I didn't have a good experience with it.. If you have, let me know in the comments, but at least for me it just wasn't the move.. I did not like it.. It was not it.. That being said, I'm still not gon na put it at the bottom., I'm going to put it underneath, pin curls, but above the bun formers, because nothing yet has been as bad as those bun formers.. That was a mess. Oof and now we're on to Testing Weird Rollers from Wish.. This is, I think, four different heatless curling methods in one video. Let'S see how it went., Okay, so I'm gon na skip ahead to the very first one that I used, which were these plastic-y ones.. I don't still have these anymore. I threw them away., Oh my gosh, were they terrible.? They felt so cheap and so flimsy.. The deal with those is that you wrapped them around and then you wrapped them up and you knocked them together and you did that all over your head and then you let it dry.. So, let's skip ahead to fully dry. Okay, so the first couple ones came off okay., Oh my gosh, and then I remember they got stuck.. I lost so much hair.. I didn't totally film it'cause. I was mourning and grieving at the time, but so much hair got lost to those rollers. It was so bad., Oh no! Oh no that looks so bad.. I see myself trying to save it.. Okay, so the one side that's curled was okay. The other side. I don't know what happened there.. Was it still wet Oof.? Okay retrospectively? I'M not sure how much was user error and how much was the rollers ,'cause, I'm not perfect. I'M not gon na get it right on the first. Try all the time. That'S fair., But mm mm the little teeth on it grabbed my hair, so badly ripped out so much hair. Never tried it again, threw them straight away.. It was a big no. And those are gon na go at the very, very bottom of the list.. You could not pay me to use them again. And now to the next., Oh okay, so the very next one we have are these spiral rollers.? So this took me, I think two hours to get all of this in.. I remember it was just this very long. Very arduous process, because you also had to get the hair specifically in each of the grooves of the spirals., And I eventually ran out of curlers, so I switched to straws.. Then I took it down and I had to do all sorts of finagling afterwards, because thy were very, very tight curls. If you're a natural hair girl you're trying to recreate how tight your natural curls are totally great, totally recommend.. But for me it was just they were really really tight., So I had to use some water to loosen it up. I had to go through and do all this different work, but once I did it, those curls looked good. I felt cute.. I did really really like these., You could never sleep on them and it takes a while to put them in, but you do get a really good return on it.. I think for the spiral rollers just because you can't sleep on them and they are very time consuming. I'M gon na put them right below, pin curls and above the Sleep, Styler. All right and then moving on. I had the suction cup rollers.. I saw them in Marvelous Mrs Maisel, like many of you guys did and they were used to keep the curls in place overnight.. They were not meant to go from wet to dry., So that makes a lot of sense, but they were marketed as a wet to dry product.. But the thing is because it encapsulates the hair in plastic. It doesn't dry.. So I had these in for 24 hours and my hair didn't dry and aside from that being a little disturbing, it was also very ineffective., So we're just gon na go ahead and put suction cup curlers at the bottom of the list.. I think these were definitely definitely definitely definitely the worst things that I've ever used.: Okay, cool, let's skip on to the strawberry rollers.. Those are so cute. They're just little sponge rollers. Basically, but because of the shape, you can wrap your hair around them and it'll just stay inside., So it's not as difficult to do, which I love and they look really cute.. Also if your hair ever gets stuck they're really easy to just rip apart.. I remember loving these strawberry rollers, so let's just see how this looked. Yeah that's, really pretty.. I notice that the curls are tighter at the top looser at the bottom. I think because when you first put it on you're wrapping that top layer around first and then every other layer is a little bit more after that, and so I definitely got a little bit of an uneven curl from that., And I did touch it up with A curling iron, and once that was done, this looked perfect'cause yeah it didn't take long to do it didn't take a lot of heat on the hair.. Those were really easy to sleep on and they were so inexpensive.. So I really really liked them., I'm gon na put the strawberry rollers just underneath braids and above pin curls.. You know what we're gon na leave it there for now.. I think I might need to reorganize once we're done. Moving on to a whole dedicated video on straw curls.. Oh, my gosh look at those itty bitty little curly, curls., So cute.. So this is Straw, Curls Heatless, Faux Curly Hair.. So in this video I tried out a few different methods of doing straw curls.. So I used plastic straws, paper, straws and little bitty Flexi Rods with kinda the straw, curl style, and I went through all of my hair wrapping these up and then let's just go ahead and skip to taking them, out., There's so many tips and tricks and everything In this video, so if you are interested in straw curls, I recommend watching this video for sure. Yeah, so they came off and I can see that my ends are really really frizzy.. I think I was probably due for a haircut, let's be honest, but I should've used more conditioning products for sure., Maybe a curl cream or a curl, defining gel just to go ahead and take care of things. A little better. I mean overall yeah. You get a really nice tight curl.. I do like the results from the Flexi Rods the best because they were the right width.. They were the widest of everything that I used, and I think that was just the best for my hair ,'cause. Like I mentioned earlier, my hair is fine, so it takes things really literally, so it did the curls really really tight. And then with straw curls. You can't just take it out and go because there's a whole extra finessing moment to it.. So then I go through how to apply product, how to pick the hair apart, how to fluff it up at the roots, all that kind of stuff., Very, very, very important., And then I come back the next day and the curls have fallen a little bit.. I talk a little bit more about how to keep them styled. I mean overall, this is a great inexpensive method to try for getting really nice tight, coil-y curls.. We love curly hair over here., Obviously, love any way that we can create that and celebrate it., Whether it's training, your own natural curls or faking, a more curly look for the day as long as we are giving all of the love to our curly haired sisters. I love it.. I find this method really really easy.. The only difficult thing is just styling after you've taken it off the straws, and I provided a lot of info in this video. So I think if you follow that you're pretty much good to go., It's a very easy method, with very reliable results. Straw curls. I am going to put above the braids and below the halo curls.. Moving on to 2020, we just got two left guys.. We'Ve got first of all the TikTok Heatless Hair Trend, and oh, this is from lockdown when Ana Laura and I were filming in different locations.. So this one is where you take a bathrobe and you wrap your hair around it and then you can either leave the bathrobe down or you can tie it up around your head, but that is the entire method.. You just wrap your hair around a bathrobe.. It is one of the easiest things I have ever tried. And then, when you unwrap it, look at her curls, They look so good. I mean you have now seen a bazillionty different kinds of curls. Tell me those are not the best ones. You'Ve seen. Oh my gosh. I remember that it did not work out well for me, the first time ,'cause, my hair is shorter.. Wait: okay, nevermind! That'S a really pretty ringlet.! Okay yeah! So I remember that the back looked nuts yup., ( laughs ), So it's like party in the front just absolute tragedy in the back. And I tried all sorts of stuff to style around it to make it look okay., It didn't quite work.. I ended the day with a party pony and we tried again later.. So then we both tried it doubling up our little robe tie and I made sure to go straight back with mine, like I was doing two Dutch braids and the results I think were much better for both of us.. Let me see., Oh yeah. That looks like what I would do with a curling iron. Absolutely and it was super easy. And Ana Laura little cutie in her freaking retail establishment of a closet. Oh my gosh. Yeah. I like it so much more on both of us with the double wrap.. So I mean I feel, like I've gone on a journey now, seeing all these different trending ways to style your hair heatlessly, and that one is still so good.. It is the evolution of all of these.. It'S it's perfect., Okay, bathrobe tie is going up at the top. I'm starting to lose my mind.. I can't quite remember what I've said and what I haven't said anymore.. I watched way too much: hair curling.. Let'S finish this off with the very most recent one that I made in July., This is My Favorite Heatless Method: Yet. Ooh, that's the title.. This is me both trying and reviewing the Octo-Curl.. So first we tried it on Ana Laura and we braided in each section.. We eventually kind of figured out what we were doing and it wasn't so bad. And then I used it on my hair and I wrapped my hair around a couple of sections. All right, skipping to day two, where we reveal our curls.. I'M gon na take mine out first. All right, so I'm taking them down and I had old Hollywood waves.. Those are so pretty.. That has to be some of my prettiest waves.. I mean I really really liked the towel, one for sure. Those waves are gorgeous and the back of my head looked so good., Oh and I did end up heat styling, a tiny, tiny bit on these.. You can pry my curling iron out of my cold dead. Hands. I love curling irons.. It'S not surprising me that I touched these up, but I touched it up so minimally. Those waves. They are so good., Okay, so straight off of it. It was a little bit uneven and the ends were pretty crazy, can't lie., And then it took us a minute to pick out the right size, curling wand, to touch up with. I remember that., But then once we did, let's skip ahead to the final afters. Wow gorgeous. Beachy mermaid, wonderful, goddess perfection. I mean the only thing I would change about Ana Laura's hair is just getting it in maybe with the heat or anything getting it. In a little bit closer to the root, but it's perfect. My waves, there look amazing.. I forgot how good this turned out., So the Octo-Curl I tried it when I had long hair. I think there are pictures of that in this video.. We tried it with short hair. We tried it on Ana's hair and I've done different curls every time. I'Ve done it and I've loved all of them.. It'S so easy to use., It's so good.. I keep forgetting how much I love it until I go back and look at the results.. I think the biggest thing to learn with the Octo-Curl is how to get the ends right, because if you get them all kind of crazy and caught up in the elastics at the end, there's a good chance. You'Re gon na end up with some crazy, crazy ends.. But as long as you're willing to use heat to touch up, while you learn how to do it correctly, you're gon na be smooth sailing. It'S so good. Octo-Curl, I'm gon na agree with the title of my video.. It goes up at the very top. Hoo. I said a whole lot of things.. I hope that this was fun for you guys.. This was fun for me to take a little journey through my past videos.. I hope that you guys enjoyed it.. Danielle French: Hey leave green sheet kaylie alone! She taught me so much I was able to make extra cash doing hair for formal events in college

Cheyanne: I have straight thin hair, and braids also give me that little sad, little deflated look. But my bestie, who has thick wavy hair, when she does braids she get these GORGEOUS waves that I call lioness hair, and it looks incredible. It’s crazy to see how different hair textures play with different methods!

Abby Marchione: I remember AAAALLL of those old-school ones. I can guarantee that I tried every single method. I thought the French braid waves were EVERYTHING. It’s so funny to watch you watch them now cause these are literally how I learned to do anything with my hair.

Trinu Pose: I still remember making the “halo” curls inspired by the grammys!!! I wore them to my sister’s wedding and everybody complimented my hair! March 2015....

user123 3: hi kayley!! just wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve done from hair videos to mental health videos. you’ve taught me how to fishtail braid, but you’ve also inspired me in so may other ways. i’ve been watching you since i was nine so for five years! thank you so much and love you ❤️❤️

Natalie Johnston: One thing I discovered for thick, wavy/curly hair--a lot of these heatless curls came out with frizz or awkward kinks on my natural hair, even though I used smoothing products. Then I tried doing a really quick blow dry beforehand and it's made all the difference! It's still a little heat, but so much less than when I would use a wand regularly. I like to smooth the roots straight, then spend 5 minutes with just the hairdryer and a hairbrush at the ends. The lower half will look fluffy, but it makes my hair smooth enough to form a really pretty curl overnight. I've been using the robe method (although, I use two long softball socks tied together at the top with a hair tie), and with the exception of touching up the front, I've barely used a wand over the last 6 months. It's a curly hair miracle! I stumbled upon this channel way back in the Hunger Games tutorial days, thank you for being gorgeous, creative, and genuine throughout the years.

Solvaeya: When you find out what hair skin and nails vitamins you were taking, let us know!!!

Olivia Lee: So fun taking a walk down memory lane! Can u do a “fixing hair disasters” video for times when you have just curled your hair and it looks awful but you don’t have enough time to redo it and etc. Thanks!

Alicia De La Cruz: I remember seeing the T shirt method video and loving it so much i tried it the very same day! It was a huge fail on my (at the time) crazy long and super thick hair but my mom still has the picture of me rocking the 18th century up do.

Sheireen: usually, when I am not sure how I want my hair for the day, I let youtube make a playlist from all of your uploaded videos and let it randomly choose which one to use for the day. Sometimes it is green sheat Kayley, sometimes it is modern Kayley but it is always great :D

Suzana Nanushi: can we just stop and appreciate how gorgeous she looks. THAT LIPSTICK ON HER

Laura Pierson: Love this! French braids are my go to when I know I'm going to be having a lazy day but want not straight hair. I'd love to see a video where you re-watch your old video and talk about what you'd do differently if you were doing them now; like the setting lotion. Or re-try technics that you think you can do better now

abby yates: I just finished school and was looking for something to watch to unwind and this pulled up! I was going to binge past Kayley vids but this is even better!❤️

Shell B: The t-shirt method is still one of my faves!!! Halo curls are stunning

Eirlys McLachlan: I'm still so tempted by the octocurl! I did try braids a few times, but never though to do just one or two, and multi braids just made me look like an electrocuted poodle. Also, that lip color is amazing on you!

Marie Gibson: my favorite is the straw curls I did them and they looked freaking amazing I naturally have long straight black hair and it looked hellin good. I highly recommend this way and I will say you get better and faster the more you do it I also recommend using thin pieces of hair I LOVE YOU KAYLEY MELLISA!!!!! I have watched every video you inspire me to be a hairstylist when I grow up I also know everything about hair from you!

Amisti3000: omg i remember using the straw curl on my sister for a halloween costume, she has really straight hair (latino hair, which is just straight like grass jajajaj) it took us like too hours but it has been the only curls that stayed on her hair jajajajaja we dressed her up like those creepy fabric dolls with very curly pigtails, she looked adorable

Tiara O'No: (pardon me, Im commenting as I watch) My typical heatless curls method is braids! Depending what i want I eigher do the french braid back or two dutch brades. and SOMETIMES twin rope braids (i like how this turns out the most but it takes more work and I'm lazy). I've got med-fine wavy hair so my hair is perfectly suited to the braids. I've tried a lot of heatless curling methods and for me braids are just the easiest and the lest likely to go crazy.

Kim Null: I use the braiding method all the time and it worked really well. Of course I have a bit a wave to my hair. Thank you for your awesome video Kayley Melissa. Will you ever do another question and answer with your sister? I enjoyed those videos

Izadora: This is so crazy, I literally started learning how to braid my hair watching your videos in 2013 and have replicated most if not all of the heatless curls you ranked here lol

abby yates: I have about medium/thick, very straight and sleek hair and double Dutch braids (or one Dutch braid) usually turn out super well for me :)

Kelly DuPree: Love these videos!! A little tip from experience to avoid the chaotic octocurl ends, is to just use a regular ponytail band to hold the ends (like is done for the robe curls) instead of the elastics on the end of the octocurl. That way the ends stay pointed down without the crazy crease. :)

Hayley Albrecht: I’m not sure what hair type I have, but I LOVE doing two Dutch braids on my hair after I shower and saving time on hair in the morning. Mine usually ends up in those mermaid curls and stay almost all day! Normal curls with an iron tend to fall out for me, so this is a better way for me to get texture :)

Ylva Hammarskiöld: Can you do a video about fixing hairstyles, maybe have some of your friends and Annalaura follow your tutorial and then you give advice on how they themselves can fix things, just thought of it, really enjoyed the video and remember some old ones!

Libby Williams: So wonderful to see how far you've come I remember spending ages struggling to do the halo curls but not putting any product in and they dropped in like 10 minutes lol. I mostly do braids but tbh I don't love how they come out, it's just easier. Currently eyeing my craft supplies with the thought of making a poor imitation of an octocurl...

Tiffany Calverley: Would love to see more of these “reviews of my videos” ones like this!

Erika Fields: Weirdly enough, the sleep styler works really well on dry hair (as long as you have straight/loose wavy hair naturally and brush it out and wrap tightly) lol

Lux Culvre: Your videos were the first ones I ever tried when i started growing my hair out! To this day, even though I have short hair now. I use heatless curl methods to help keep my hair healthy. So thank you!

Katey Miller: Hey Kaylee!! I’ve been watching since the green background days, and I can confirm that I ALSO tried all of these methods from your videos lol so we you weren’t alone at least my hair i fine and I have a LOT of it, and I find the braid method works super well for me! My hair comes out in very defined waves that give my hair tons of volume and I still use it almost daily! Lol thanks for a lifelong hair hack :)

Eloise Spooner: What a trip down memory lane! Your red/copper hair was all my hair goals when I was younger, and I literally did the halo every night from ages 16 - 18!!! That was my look for years

Katarína Mitašová: I remember trying a lot od these my favourite heatless curl method is double french braids. With a couple finishing touches with curling iron next morning it gives me best results. Bath robe method was so good when my hair was longer, but braids are the best lazy girl method

Linzzz: That halo-tshirt method was what brought me to this channel, and I gotta say... I still use it sometimes when I know I'll be needing my hair to look bomb over the next few days. My hair really takes well to it; it was such a life saver for me!

Mandi Sadler: Such a great video idea!!! I loved this. I'll definitely try the octocurl and the bath robe one.

Andrea Holbrook: I just recently found and started binging your videos, and I love them! I used to try heartless curling methods sometimes, but I didn’t know they needed to have mostly dry hair, so they always turned out awful lol. I really loved this review video of the methods. I would love to see more curly/wavy hair journey tips, styles, tricks, etc. See ya next video!

Amber Davidson: I love that this is basically a learning video. Like what you know then vs what you know now. Showing that even experts don't know everything at first and learn over time.. Love you!!

bookgirl2222: I've watches so many of your heatless curl videos over the years so I LOVE this video! I purchased the Octocurl based on your video so I'm glad to hear it's still your favorite.

Edelyse: I normally curl my hair by doing 2 lace braids on the side of my head. It gives the same result if I do it with dutch braids but I find lace to be much easier. It turns out quite nice on my hair!

Jordan Hayes: I’ve been with you since the green sheet days!! I have fine hair and you were the first girl I watched to have the same hair problems as me! Everything I know about hair is all thanks to you!!

Lydia Criss: The braided method is like my every day go-to, I LOVE them!!! My hair is a little fine but the method works great on me!

Maggie Marfilius: Oh my word!!!! Thank you so very much for making this video!! My hair is straight, heavy and thick and will not hold a curl for anything! Heatless usually works on me but I'm still trying to find the best method. This narrows it down by alot.

Valerie Villarreal: I learned how to do pin curls from your channel and I still do them to this day! It’s one of my favorite heartless curl methods I’ve learned from you ☺️

Naomi Ling: This video was such a good idea. I now feel so much better! I’d try some of the techniques and end up with a frizzy mess. All of my go to, successful styles are all from your videos, so I just thought it was me or my hair!

Ashley Holt: Love the throw back through your videos! Definitely have been watching since the green sheet days also, love the sweater you’re wearing and have the same one in my Amazon cart already

Lídia: I discovered your channel back when the t-shirt heatless curls, I followed the tutorial when I was living in Japan for a first date and I swear my hair has never looked as perfect since then, it turned out amazing! Plus now I have beautiful pictures in Kiyomizudera Temple in Kyoto

Jordan Sheets: I cannot believe that I have been following you for almost 10 years! I still remember the first video I saw. It was 5 Styles for Wet Hair in Under 10 Minutes. Thank you for the past 10 years!

Alisocks: Girl I don't know how you did the strawberry ones without the ends falling out! I ordered them after watching the Wish video and was so excited to try them but the ends kept falling out and wouldn't stay curled with the rest of my hair

insert book pun here: I have thick and full hair and braid waves are my jam. I wear them pretty much every day. I remember trying the t-shirt curls a bunch of times in college and then always being disappointed and pulling my hair into a bun because I had no skill when it came to the wrapping

Sydney A: I just recently discovered your channel, but I totally remember seeing the t-shirt method on Pinterest in like 8th grade and I definitely tried it a couple times!

Megan Fantes: This video is so fun!! I love watching you react and give your wiser, more experienced thoughts!

Nectarina: I have sponge rollers in a few sizes and I love them! I do vintage style wet set and it's great on my hair!

Annelies: Video idea: ranking all the Halloween/getting into character videos All the love girl

Jennifer Eakins: Green sheet Kayley literally raised me . I remember getting so exited when Kayley would comment on my recreation attempts!

The Cord Crew: I have been using the sleep styler for two year now and LOVE them. I will say that I think it depends on your hair length and texture though because I have friends who’s turned out like yours.

NerdyMara: I literally watched all of these videos back in the day and tried almost all. To this day I have never mastered halo curls ^^

Anna Pond: I loved this video! I've been watching since the green sheet and it brought back some nice memories from the time. Hope you do some more videos like these, maybe about hairdos or braids?

CavaGirl: Soooooooo helpful! Everything in one place <3

Meaghan Keeley: 2b hair and braids method works great for me! It really helps to give me more uniformity when my hair has some extra wavy portions and some more straight.

Annamariexo: Wow so nostalgic watching you watch your old videos always been so adorable and so informative ❤️

Elizabeth Yates: I loved it!! My favorite is overnight braids because I have longer hair! I'd love to see some character inspired hairstyles for October or some decade hairstyles I loved the one from last year

Valeria Josan: hey, kayley! i love your videos and i watch them sometimes just for fun, you have such a beautiful personality and i am so inspired by you. I remember that i started watching your videos a. because i love all about hair , braids and curls b. i wanted to deal with my hair problems better - we have similar hair types ( oily and fine hair) and i have the SAME annoying hair line. although i have fine medium to long hair, the braids work on me. I do them all the time- either 2 dutch braids( for tighter waves) or 1 dutch braid (for loser wavres). I wake up with bouncy marmaidy voluminous waves .sometimes i use heat on some pieces in the morning but in general they turn up pretty good . they are easy, and they are anyway a good protective hairstyle for the night. totally recommend anyone to try this method!

Kirsi Ontronen: That was such a good content Kayley!! My everyday go-to curls are just a simple french braid and if I want a party curl type of situation I do multiple braids I also just tried the bath robe method inspired by you and it was really awesome!! The curls turned out great

HilBG: I've found that the curl pattern from a 4-strand rope braid (from The Braid Encyclopedia) is theeeeeeee prettiest. It's a rounder curl than a 3-strand braid which can sometimes look really "crimped" on me. Sometimes I do one big french 4-strand and that's big waves, or I do two frenches for a tighter curl look. It's only a little bit harder than a 3-strand but the results are bboonnkkeerrss

J. E.: I personally love the bathrobe curls (I use two tied up bandanas though) and I wrap my hair around it in two directions. Never gonna use a curling iron again :D

Rachel Thomas: Your videos are absolutely amazing! I’ve been around since middle school (I think your 2015 holiday hairstyles video was my first) and your videos always make me so happy:) I love your vulnerability and your partnership with your sister too! Could you do a video where you recommend products for girls with thick, slick hair to help hold a curl? Thank you for your channel and lovely personality!

nop.4297: Love your videos! My favorite heatless curl method is the bath robe because it’s super fast and easy to take out and style in the morning!

ATM: you can see the pain in past kayley's eyes when she was brushing through the bun former "curls"

Amber N: I discovered you with the halo curls video! I was googling heatless curls that didn’t require me to buy anything because I was broke but wanted curled hair for a special occasion. I put it up the night before but I didn’t dry it enough beforehand so it was still wet when I woke up. Instead of giving up, I went to work all day looking like a crazy renaissance lady at Kohl’s and all the old ladies thought that was what I was going for . I hoped and prayed when I was able to take it down that it looked good, and OT SO DID. Everyone that saw the t-shirt look was shocked at how it came out! I’ve used this method any time I want curled hair ever since...1) because heatless curls hold on my hair SO MUCH longer than heat curls, 2) I have zero patience for curling irons or curlers in general-this allows me to use bigger chunks of hair at a time so it’s so much faster for me. I’ve also worn the renaissance look to my current job once because I was too tired to do it the night before, so I put it up in the morning and threw a hairnet over it and looked a fool all day for #worthit results! So thank you. I love all your videos, and even did one of your updos for my wedding ❤️

Amalia Wilde: Girl I remember watching your braid encyclopedia over and over and over again in college.

Makayla Manta: I was here for the t-shirt method! And I'll be real, I much prefer pin curls over flexi rods. The flexi rods were soooo hard for me to twist so that they stayed on top of my head, for the ends of the hair to stay pinned so they didn't unravel, and then when I woke up it was 50/50 if everything was still in place

Kendall Sutton: I have been waiting all week for this! I also really want to try some of these, so I THANK you profusely!!!!!!!!!!!

Natalie Gonzalez: oh shit im the one that tweeted this suggested im so happy you did this!!

Zaeema Assad: This video just made my mood go from 0 to . Love you Kayley ❤️

Brit Alyson: You look so pretty. Love your hair and makeup! I have come to terms that heatless curls will never work with my frizzy hair! I still love watching them lol

Madison K: Love your amazing and positive videos! ❤️

Agustina Gorni: Awww! I loved seeing some clips from your older videos! I’ve been following you since then. THE NOSTALGIA IS STRONG. Love you Kayley!

Cacoa Dentry: I ALWAYS put my hair in plaits every night. It is quick, simple, adaptable and I can do it whilst reading!!!!! Totally recommend trying it!!

Rahaf Helmi: First of all, I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! I Love you, I love Anna Laura and I admire the bond you two have! Now about these heatless methods.. For some reason, the single french or dutch braid and my hair are not friends! However, when I do double or triple Dutch braids it looks AMAZING!! And the Heatless Grammys-inspired curls are a game-changer for me!! Ever since I learnt it, I am obsessed, and to this day, I love it, I swear by it and I taught it to everyone I know! I wear it A TON even at weddings or special occasions and I ALWAYS get complements! I did it on a long hair, mid-length hair and a bob, and it look Gorgeous EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And Oh My God.. The volume is perfection!! I also tried the robe tie method and it wasn't good because my hair was short!

AJK0119: I looove heatless curls! What product do you ultimately suggest for some hold? My hair also doesn't hold that well, but I don't like it to be crunchy!

Ali Iannucci: I'm new to the Braidaholic fam this year (discovered you during quarantine) so this was really fun to see all the old videos that I hadn't seen before! Also, when you did the TikTok bathrobe one earlier this year, it changed my whole life. I use it once or twice a week now and always get compliments, even over Zoom

Carlyn Jenkins: You might love the Flower Curl by Cordina, it creates wonderful curls but make sure to put it in and take out very deliberately (o avoid hair being ripped out) might work best for analaura

Dustyrosepetal 0206: I remember watching video 3 and loving how it looked, I tried it and sucked at it. Then looking at video 2 and thinking that you were a bit out there with your hair, did not try. This was not to long after you made these videos. I've been watching since around 2014. Also tried the teeshirt curls when my hair was really long it looked super nice. Now my hair is to short and I think it would look really bad lol. I like the bathrobe curls. They really haven't failed me yet.

Lily Goodwin: I love the bathrobe tie curls but if I don't have a bathrobe on hand, I'll just do two french rope twist braids down the sides of my head. Great for taming my half wavy half straight hair!

Cansu Tunç: I loved the third method when I was in high school. I do love it still ❤️♥️❤️ (pin curls)

meirles: Nooooo waaaaaay, the halo T Shirt method got me through the grow out phase when I couldn’t put any heat on my hair in 2014 when I burned all my hair at my crown with a straightener. I used two bandanas tied together though! I also Bobby pinned it back in a half-up style to hide the uncurled back sections.

Marianne: I found you because of headless curls... I went on this journey with you, & tried almost every single one of those methods

laurensmagicworld: So honestly I still use the tee shirt halo hair wrap method today! I love it and it’s really easy so it still works for me!

ForeverDreamWithinADream: I need to try some of these (well the best ones, some I will skip lol). So of those results looked amazing. My hair is naturally coarse and thick with a mix of wave and curls; but always looks like a mess so I am trying to train my hair so it looks better. The flexi rods, pin curls and maybe the velcro or magnetic rollers would be what I want to try next. I been using the denman brush and the flexi brush as well as the tangle teezer. The denman brush really defines it but it just ends up so frizzy still.

Laura Oergel: Love these. Regular foam rollers, rag curls and strawberries for the win!! The octocurl is cute but a wave...is Not a curl...its a curl that has died..

Phyllis D: I loved the reddish hair on you! You can wear pretty much any color hair. The Back to School video is how I first found your channel and I think it ended up really pretty.

Master Obi Wan Kenobi: My hair type is a 1 and very thick. I do double Dutch braids and my hair is really wavy and turns out super well! My only problem is that they fall out after a couple of hours

Alexandria: Giiirrrlll! I'm happy to hear that you have the same braid/curl situation as me! Whenever I take them out of the braid I'm like super excited then five minutes later it's like flat PS my hair is super fine and does not have any body/natural curl whatsoever.

Taylor Alexis: Wow! I remember every single Kayley era!! I was in college during your red auburn stage lol. I remember trying every single one though throughout the years

Marie T: This is a good video. You should do a series reviewing your old hairstyles and giving tips to improve on them

Raquel C. C.: I have long hair and I still use your t-shirt method! It works great!

Donna Noe: My mom used to pin curl my hair all of time. I have natural waves. However, it falls out as my hair dries. My mom had beautiful natural curls. I always wanted those.

Debadrita Gupta: Omg I have tried almost all these methods after seeing your videos I have 2c sometimes 3a hair, I used the braid method for curls throughout college it is my go to method for curls! Such a nostalgic video❤️ I distinctly remember the day I tried the T shirt Grammy waves #letsmakeitup and not to forget #letsmakeitup2 :p

Desiree Fussman: So I have seen so many negative reviews on the sleep styler but I used them religiously for a year and a half while being and exotic dancer and there is a learning curve with them for sure. Just lightly damp your hair and get them as close to your scalp as possible and the curls turned out beautiful most of the time I literally was known for my hair and got so many compliments!!

Emily Jones: You need to do the pin curls again! They’re were amazing

Chelsey Sterling Coaching: Braids work great for me! But I have VERY long + thick hair - so I am the people braids work for. This was such a fun video to watch!!

Jane Doe: Gonna try the bathrobe thingy, curious how that will look on my thigh length hair :) Thanks for the tips!
