Easy Heatless Curls Hair Tutorial!

Here's my newest easy heatless curls tutorial!

I wanted to challenge myself to do waves overnight with no heat that still looked like my normal hairstyle of tousled curls. These use flexi rods which are basically smooth foam rollers that are easy to sleep in. This way you can get smooth curls with minimal frizz. Hope you love them!

Everyone, Healy here and today I have some heatless curls for you. I wanted to figure out how I could make my signature curls that do them heedlessly, and this is how I came up with to do it. So this is what I used. First, I used flexi rods, and these are just kind of like foam rollers that have a wire inside so that you can bend them and that holds them in place. While you sleep or wait for your hair to try, you can give them in lots of different sizes. Lots of brands make them and they're pretty easy to find and easy to use. Also, I'm going to use a spray bottle of water to get my hair damp or you could shower and wait for your hair to dry a little bit. Then I'm using setting lotion - and this actually helps your hair to be smoother when you set it. So it's less frizzy and it helps your hair to hold heatless curls better. This is the only brand that I've tried so far, but I love it. So this is how my hair is when I'm starting out and let's go ahead and get started with how to set the hair start with your hair parted on whatever side you would normally part it on and then split your hair in half. Then, on one side go ahead and split your hair in half again, and that's going to be the first section that we're going to work with now, I'm going to brush the hair up that way, the roller sits on top of the head, which gets the curl Nice and close to the scalp, but also keeps you from sleeping right on top of the roller, then I'm going to spritz my hair with some water and add in the setting lotion. That way, your hair is damp and you have a little bit of hold added into it. Then I'm going to grab a flexi rod and I'm going to wrap my hair away from my face. Just like I would wrap my hair around a curling wand. You want to make sure this is as smooth as possible, because any kind of frizz that you see here is going to still be there when your hair dries now just bend the flexi rod toward your face until everything feels nice and secure. If the ends come out, because mine kind of do sometimes just wrap them back around as smoothly as possible, and if you want to you, can secure it with a bobby pin just to make sure it doesn't fall out while you're sleeping or waiting for your hair To dry, then we're going to do the same thing with the other section of this half so you're going to brush it up spray it with some water. If you want to, you can add in setting lotion, you don't have to. This will work perfectly without the setting lotion and then I'm going to wrap my hair away from my face on the flexi rod. Again, of course, making sure that it's as smooth as possible, then I'm going to bend the flexi rod toward my face and that will be it for this side and now, on the other side, we're doing the exact same thing. So you're just gon na split your hair in half brush it up spray with water and wrap it around the flexi rod. I really like this method, first of all, because I think flexi rods work very similarly to curling irons. Basically, you can just wrap it. However, you would normally do with a curling iron, and so it translates really easily. If you have something that you know really works with a curling iron, you can do that with flexi rods really easily. Also, I can do this in about five minutes. Definitely less than ten, which is definitely one of the fastest heatless methods I've ever tried. So overall, I really like these, I think they're great and you can get a set of flexi rods for less than ten dollars. So that's why I really like this weapon and I wanted to show it to you guys. So once all that is done, you can either sleep on it and let them dry while you sleep or you can wait. So you can do this in the morning and then, probably by afternoon, your hair would be dry and now, once your hair is dry, it's time to take the rollers out and all you have to do, for that is just to untwist them and let the hair Fall off the roller, if it's being stubborn, you can always kind of like unwind it like unrolling a sleeping bag, but I've never run into that with my hair and you can see when we finish this up, we end up having four giant ringlets. So here's how to kind of break them up. First of all, I like to pull them into smaller pieces, so it looks like you did lots of individual girls instead of four giant ones, and you can see it looks really. Nice, like marine lips, is kind of pretty, and you could totally leave it like that. If you wanted to what I notice with my hair was that it was a little bit more fluffy than I wanted it to be in a couple of areas. So I went through a couple more steps to get it smoother and I wanted to show you guys how I did that. First, I ran my fingers through it to make sure to break everything up, and then I ran a hairbrush through it, and you want to do this very carefully, because some hair types can frizz out a little bit more when you do this, but it does help To fight the fluffiness, because after you brush everything out, you can add a little bit more product on top of that. So once I had everything nicely smooth with my hairbrush, I went ahead and broke things up again with my fingers. So that way, you see kind of those individual ringlets coming back, but they look much smoother and then to cut down any fluffiness. That'S left - and this is what you can do if you have any frizz, is to use a serum, an oil or more setting lotion. If you have that, I found the setting lotion worked really well for smoothing out just a little bit of extra stuff at the end, one final trick: if you notice any areas, are way too curly you can spritz them with water and that can help them relax Into a looser curl, it especially works for people with straight hair or hair that doesn't normally hold a curl. And that way, if you have any areas that are just too curly for you, you can spritz them and then once they've dry it a little bit. There'Ll. Be a lot more relaxed and that's it for these heatless curls. You can do this with any size, flexi rod you want and you could actually get tighter curls. If that's your thing, but for me this is my signature curl that I normally do with the curling iron, and I love that I can do it heedlessly, it's so much better for my hair, it's such a time saver. For me, I really love it and I hope you guys love it too. I hope you try it out make sure to subscribe to my channel. If you haven't already and I'll see you in my next video mwah, Oh

Lexy Rose: YOUR HAIR LOOKS AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!! I wish mine would turn out like this when I try and do heatless curls

The Kazoo Queen: Gorgeous!! I'll try this one, I think. I have naturally curly hair, but it tends to curl every which-way rather than uniformly, so I like to experiment with heatless curling methods to help it along.

The Thrifty Fawn: Nice! I've been using flexi rods since 2013, but your application method is very different than mine, and I should definitely try yours out to see what sort of results I get with it! My hair is wavy with spirals so it holds curl no problem, but the flexi rods definitely help to tame and shape the hair nicely, and without heat!

Madeleine Hanna: Awesome! I wish heatless curls would last on my hair. I've tried many variations of heatless curls, but they only last a couple hours on my hair, whereas those I would achieve with a curling wand always last on my hair.

Sophia Smyth: Your makeup looks so beautiful in this video!

Stephania Campos: This is the hair tutorial I have been searching for my whole life. Wish me luck! -Stephy :)

Pamela Harrison: Wow!! These curls look amazing!

Apple Periwinkle: This is amazing! Thank you for sharing <3

Kayla Johnson: Putting a little oil on my frizz is one of the best things I've ever discovered about taking care of my hair. It looks like I have an entirely different hair texture! And thank goodness for it when the original texture was "frizzy disaster"

goddessOfLove: Kayley your so beautiful! I love curling my hair so I'll definitely give it a try and usually when I do curl my hair it stays within 3 days.

Ariana Wilks: Wow your hair looks so lovely and healthy! Love your vids xxx

Tamara Eads: Quick and simple - great video!

bisou de vie: This is genius! I have never tried 1.25', it's so much easier and prettier than those thin wire :)) I'm going to try!!!

Heather Kubik: My mind is blown! Love it! You're gorgeous btw! Can you do a couple hairstyle options for medium length hair for brides? :) (Watched the other updos, but looking on maybe a side bun sort messy curls with volume, if that makes sense haha)

Ilma Rahman: This is amazing, I've been looking to buy these rods and I hope they work for me. But if I were to run a brush through my curls, they would just instantly straighten out!

Studio Knit: Love your videos. Excited to try this!! Thank you!!

PuddyTat: Thank you! I had asked for more "Heatless" tutorials & you delivered :)

Samantha Cor: I tried this and it looks beautiful!

arale1402: Following your video, I ordered the flexi rods from amazon today. I have very straight and (according to my hairdresser) very healthy hair. She said she the reason why my hair doesn't do what I want it to is because it is "too" healthy. I think your hair always looks very healthy as well, so here is to hoping that these flexi rods will give my hair the texture and volume I would like to have once in a while. --- Loved the star wars tutorial btw :)

melody gloria: stunning! wow this is the best tutorial I have ever seen, and I hope it works with my hair, which seems to have a mind of its own lol

Nora Hook: Thank you Kayley !!!! I am being Supergirl for a Halloween party and these curls re PERFECT. <3

Sami Stephen: Hey Kayley, did you run into issues sleeping on the flexirods like I did? It was super uncomfortable and I wound up tossing and turning like crazy! Any tips?

Anissa Lehdonkangas: I love this video! I do this to all the time :)

x3Thuha: I've used flexi rods before and love them! I haven't had the chance to use the bigger sized ones but will definitely have to check those out because your loose curls came out beautiful!

Cat M: KAYLEY I LOVE THESE! These curls look like they give you Ariel the little mermaid hair and it's my goal in life to always look as close to her as possible thank you kayley xoxo

Karly Laura: Love this! :-) <3 My hair is still shorter so this would work nicer for me. I'm always scared that i'll burn myself with a styling wand or etc, as i still don't have quite enough hair to work with (length wise).

Meri M.: Your hair is just incredible! God, I am jealous! I should try this sometime if I stumble upon rolls like that!

Alexis Beaschler: I love your Videos! You are so pretty and kind. Your hair tutorials are so pretty and it's really easy to understand how to do them. Keep up the amazing job!

Lauren Enright: Kayley, I love your heatless methods but I have one dilemma. I workout and/or run 6 mornings a week after which my overnight waves are ruined. Do you know of a solution to this? My hair is thick and long, it already struggles to stay up when I work out, pulling out all the lovely curls (not to mention the sweat!)

Χρύσα Βουρδάκη: I love all your heatless videos!!!

Freya: The thing is there are tons and tons of videos showing the same method as this one. But yours is way more detailed and 'user-friendly' than others. I love it!!

Sara B: lovely video :) I actually like it even before brushing.. that gives you 2 ways to have a beautiful hairstyle :)

facts not feelings: bouncy high volume curled hair, amazing

Iba Dhar: Such gorgeous hair!

melss94ish: I've owned some flexi rods for a few years now but I wasn't sure how to use them. I'm definitely going to give them another try thanks to this video!

Tanya Bhaskar: for me, a bun works well enough! i have relatively thick hair, so i wash my hair, give it about an hour to get from wet to damp, then pop it in a bun and leave it like that till it's mostly dry. then i take it out, brush it out, then rebun for a bit longer til it's completely dry.

Merlin: They look perfect

mrsditalo: Happy sunday! Just wanted to tell you how amazing all your videos are!! I am always learning something new and helpful. you are so beautiful!

Amalthea11: OMG! I might not have to buy a curling iron after all! Thank you so much! Xxx

Faye Yang: You are gorgeous Kayley! and seriously glowing in this video

GLOWING GODDESS: OMG. love this..I'm getting these rods now thank you for this video.. love you

The Travelling Luis: Love this!

Kasey robinson: I'm late to this video but you're hair & face are absolutely stunning❤

Kamila Marek: love it ! More films like that <3

Luvchocolateandbooks: Love it!

Jenna Rusinowski: Hi Kayley! Do you have any tips for shorter hair with heatless curls? And by shorter hair I mean just touching the shoulders! I also have thin and fine hair so it doesn't hold a curl very well. I'd love to figure out the best way to do heatless curls on my difficult hair type!

Raquel C. C.: Hey Kayley! I love your videos and this one i loved so much I went and order some flexirods the first time I saw it (I live in Brazil, and I couldn't find them here). So now they arrived, I watched it again and did the step by step. But the thing is, the flexirods do not stay put on my hair as well as they do on yours! They slip even when I put on some bobby pins, and it's almost impossible to sleep in them without them completely falling off my hair. Do you have any advice? My hair is much shorter (shoulder length) and heavier than yours, could that be it?

curls and nodes: I didn't know 1 1/4 flexi rods existed! I'm going to have to invest in some! I love this heatless curl method. I really like using the halo curl method with a bandana but, I've found that the curls start lower in the back which is really annoying!

Sharon Alféres: Love it!

Chloe Lee: Absolutely beautiful

Manuela Mota: perfect, thank youu. i have those, i'll try like you did.

Lily Gonzalez: Thank you! Do you know if this works after washing your hair, semi-drying it. Placing the foam curls and then fully dry it with a hair dryer?

Sian Louise: gorgeous curls x

valentina is SHOOK: this is literally the BEST heatless curls tutorial in youtube

ちゃ: amazing, thank u for helpful video! i'll try!

SmileSquish: Kayley what foundation do you have on in this video? Your makeup is beautiful! Can't wait for my hair to draw a bit so I can do this :)

Kayin Chan: I read that setting lotion can be really damaging for the hair, any thoughts on this? is it less damaging than using heat?

Lucy: Love this method as I hate curling my hair with a wand as it takes far too long (and too much effort because I'm lazy,) I bought these 1.25" rods that you have Kayley, and when I sleep with them in overnight they fall out my hair before I even wake up!! I have really long and thick(ish) hair but when I've used smaller flexi rods in the past I've slept with them in and they stay in no problem! Not sure what I'm doing wrong as I've tried this method twice (without setting lotion) one with dryish hair and one with more wet hair but it hasn't worked out for me. Any tips? (Sorry for the long comment)

Morgan Bullard: Can't wait to try this!!!!

Nadia - The View Is Beautiful: I've had these for years but never found a way for them to work on me. I was about to give them away, now I'll have to try this method first!

Natalie Johnston: I love heatless methods, but I don't think I've ever found one that works on my curly hair. Either it makes really awkward looking curls, or it falls out really easily Now, I just use my NuMe Lustrum wands, and those let my hair hold super pretty curls for at least a week (I've never gone longer than 7 days between washes, but it is great that the curls outlast everything else). I only use heat 1-2 times a week, and it is so nice not to have to worry about it every day.

lauren: I have the purple flexi rods[do not know exact size] yesterday was my first time using them and today I had such poofy curls! so pretty!

Kimberly Graef: I love that sweatshirt, haha! Thanks for sharing, I'll have to give these another try.

Kennedy Cake Lady 🍑: Trying this tonight!!! So cute

larkholland: can't wait to try this... i'm heading to amazon to buy the flex rods now!

scooterbear2000: I kind of do the same technique for heatless curls but instead of the rods I use long socks and wrap my hair around a sock and then tie it. And then I usually sleep on it and take it out in the morning

Linh Tran: Absolutely stunning and easy!! Unfortunately my hair doesn't hold curls well :( It usually turns flat after 10 minutes even if I spray some hairspray. Any solutions??

Raluca: Can you do a headband one too? I am so baaad with flexi rods and I searched all over the Internet for a tutorial and exactly when I wanted to give up, you made this. I am sooooo happy. Thank youu, this saved me! ^^ I also thought that flexi rods were the best, but failed at using them, because I have straight and annoingly soft hair. Lots of kisses from Romania!

Stine Kirkeby: I love setting lotion(the one I use is like water) I use it to tame my frizz and baby hair.

sophia: SO PRETTY!

CarolaneCP: So pretty!

Thea Freer: Love your videos!

ké Gisely: você poderia indicar este batom ai em português, amei ele. ♡

Shai-li Gawne: This is so nice I love ur hair❤️❤️❤️❤️
