So when styling the front of your hair you choose a side that suits your curls. Here are my tips to how to style the front of curly hair.

(And sorry for getting sidetracked in the video! I had to tell you about our dog so you’d really understand how much I tuck my hair behind my ear.)

I hope you enjoy some of the funny touches in this video as well. Jim had a great time editing this for me.

Christina xx

Either I'm Christina from Harriman's calm now, most of the time I want to hear romance, you get to see the back of my head, but today's video is all gon na, be about styling the front of your hair and in particular, how to style the front of Curly hair now for most people, you've always got one good curly side and one bad curly side, or maybe that's just me, but I tend to find that there's one side of my hair that curls a lot better than the other, and for me this side doesn't Curl as well as this side, but that's just how the KO Falls. I have a lot of curly hair tutorials here on YouTube and over on hee romance comm as well, and often I only show you the back of the hairstyles, because the front is pretty plain and also I'm really awkward. When I have to take pictures of my face, I don't take a lot of selfies, so I need some tips on how to take better pictures of the front anyway. What we are gon na do is talk through some quick and easy ways to sort out the front of your curly hair, and this is also particularly true if you're a chronic hair tucker. Like me, oh my god, this is such it's pretty side note you might need to know this, but my husband's family used to have the most beautiful Dalmatian and she was deaf and my mother-in-law is amazing, with animals and she trained beautiful dotty and to respond to Sign language, which i think is incredible so dotty spoke sign language and we would sign to her for different toys and commands, but when it came to people she also had signs for people and when I came into the family, my mother-in-law taught the dog. This sign was to go and find me because I'm always taking my hair behind my ears so much that even a dog would recognize that that was a sign for me anyway. So if you tuck your hair behind your ears as much as I do and you're looking for a more interesting way to style the front of your curly hair, keep watching now for this first look: you're just going to need a couple of bobby pins now like To call this the secret pin for this style, what I do is twist back the front of my hair, but instead of pinning in on top of my hair, I lift up a section and pin it underneath the trick is to twist your bobby pin as you're Putting it in and do a 180 degrees so that the pin stays in place. The great thing with this hidden pin style is that you can just hide it amongst your curls. You don't need to be precise. I think that's what the great thing with all curly hairstyles, just going with the way your curl set is the best every time. My second style is actually like a little mini top knot for this style. This is a great way to keep the hair off the top of your face, and it also works if you have a fringe or layers to. I just gather them back and twist it into a little bun, but I don't make the bun too tight. I like to stretch it out a little bit before I pin it in place with a bobby pin. You can tuck the ends under or leave them loose to blend in with your hair. Whatever works, I like this stuff for having a bit more volume on top as well, but you can also do it quite tight if you prefer that look too, of course, it wouldn't be a Harrow mance video, if I didn't do a braid as well, and this Look is a simple fringe braid to do this fringe braid, I create a side part and then pick up a small section, split it into three I'm going to be creating a Dutch braid and only adding hair from the back. So it's technically called a lace braid, but don't get hung up on the names you want to take the right under the middle and then the left under the right and then on the next section at the back pick up some hair and add it in and Then, as you keep going, don't add in hair at the front, but pick up four hair all the way to the front and add it into the back section. This gives you the freedom to stretch your braid at the end and pull it forward to where you want it to sit when braiding curly hair. You have to listen to your curls, I get a bit tangled now. You just have to add in pole curls. Instead of trying to break them up, that's how you'll create fries, I've got a video with some more tips, all add up above and then finish in a regular braid and then what I do is pin it in place very similar to the hidden twist pick up. Some hair pin it underneath and then pop it down it's at that point, then you can just adjust it and have make sure it's sitting the way you like, I had to put a braid in there somewhere right, and you saw that I got a little bit Tangled and that's what we just take in a hole, curl you've got to listen to your hair. You can't say where the sections are going to be now, if you're wearing your hair out, and it's not looking right. Why not flip your part by flipping your part over to the other side? You just get you uncover this whole other sense of volume that is under hiding underneath and if you prefer, to wear your hair in a center part. Just moving the layers around a little bit can add a bit more volume in there as well or, if you don't a switch side, just go a little bit deeper with your part, and that will add that extra volume into the top that will make your curls Sit just right now, if you're planning an updo and you're wondering how to style the front of your curls, I like to sort of take elements from each of these. If you're just doing a bun, maybe you want to do a braid to keep all the hair in front in place or, if you're doing something at the back pinning a little section at the top here in place. First and then star the rest of your hair. We'Ll make sure that the front is exactly the way you want it. If you like to leave a few hairs down when you're doing an up, I just wet them down with a water spray twist it around my finger and then sort of twist it through like this, to create a better shape curl at the front, but we're having A few of these pieces just allows me to soften any updo with having a few loose curls out around the front that I kind of like to sell. However, and if they're not looking right and you really need to head out the door, that's when I grab a curling wand just to tidy them up, however, you're styling, your curls, I recommend thinking about the front. First, have a play one day and see how you like to wear your hair like a bit more volume in top. Do you like some layers around the front? Do you prefer to cover your ears? All of these questions will be individual to you and then, once you work out your little formula, then any updo you do is a breeze. You just star the curls at the front or leave the layers out that you want and you're ready to go. I hope these tips helped and if you've got any color hair questions, just drop them in the comments below I'd love, to hear what tips you have for styling the front of your curls as well head on over to hair immense comm for lots more tutorials. I'D love it if you'd hit subscribe, so you won't miss my next video have fun with your hair and I'll see you next time, bye, not sure what my hair is doing this I want to take before I don't really like it. I'M gon na. Do this one at the end again,

Jenna: I am SO happy I found you! I feel like there aren’t enough videos for girls with hair like us, either it’s fake curl tutorials or women with much curlier hair than mine. This is wonderful thank you!

Jessica George: I am so glad to know it is normal to have a good curl side and a bad curl side! I had straight hair until my 40s, so this is all new to me (and wonderful!) Thanks for all the wonderful information!

Cc: I fell in love with the braid style! It makes it so much easier to style the front since I have awkward curly/wavy hair!

Shae LeGalley: Thank you for making this video! I struggle a lot with the front of my curly hair. Can you do more on how to style it while down? I have MAJOR baby hairs that curl all over the place

Cata Body & Table: Such great ideas! I never know what to do with the front of my hair to make it look nice while also keeping it away from my face. I also loved your story about the dog :)

Elisha Doyle: Awesome finally a video on styling the front of curly hair. I got sick of straightening my hair and killing it so now I just embrace my curls. I have a problem with my hair fluffing and fizzing at the back though. The front of my hairs always been a dilemma to style. I might have to try pinning it to one side under the other hair like you did. That looked easy enough.

Carley Heelen: I’m pretty sure you’ve just saved me from bad curly hair days! Thank you so much this video!

Steph LJ: This is the tutorial I needed! I never know what to do with the front!

Jennifer Ford: I like the braided style because I rarely braid my hair when it’s curly. I always have to pull the hair in front of my forehead straight when I’m drying so that the inch or so above my forehead isn’t super tight.

DT Caiz: Loved this video thank you!! So I DO have a question... my hair is thin/fine and curly. Sometimes, I have sections that DO NOT want to really curl so I wind up with hair that just looks like it hasn't been brushed/kept. This is especially the case when I blow dry. Have you ever encountered this and what did you do to solve it? :) Thanks :)

Looby T: Thought was just me having one side curlier than the other thank you great video

Sam Wilson: Hi girlie, I’m a new subscriber after this video! You’re beautiful & know just what to do with curls very similar to mine! Amazing. I have a question! How do you DRY the front of your curls right? For some reason, the front of my hair always dries weird & my curl sections are very pronounced and almost wet looking way after the rest of my hair is dry and then some! It’s really frustrating bc I have great hair but I have no idea what to do with the front when it’s just down. Please let me know if you have any tips?? I gotta add: I air dry my hair. I use a micro fiber hair wrap when I get out of the shower, and then I apply my products, scrunch a tad, and let dry. But.. should I place my hair behind my back? Or divide it over my shoulders? Tuck my hair behind my ear or don’t? It’s been 24 years and I still can’t figure it out.

Sandy Rocha: Hi, thank you for the tips, I have seen plenty of videos how to style curly hair with the diffuser but I have always have problem styling the front when is wet, do you have any tips how to style the front of the hair when is wet? Thank you ☺️

Diana F: Love her hair and her advice!

Lina Kツ: Loved the secret pin style! Even though your fingers are nimble you lost me with the braid style. It reminded me of making challah bread but harder

Mary Thompson: I have curly hair and have NEVER known what to do with it. I spent my life stretching it with a hair dryer. Now that my neck is trashed, the hair dryer is out. Most of the tipping to the sides is out as well. I have been using Infusium 23 lately after showering. I do only use a soft t-shirt on my hair. I wrap it up for a couple of minutes and then take it down. I spray in the Infusium while bent over. I twist my hair as one piece and place it all on top of my head and spray more Infusium into the twist. I leave it there and dress, then just let it fall and air dry. I keep a center part and noticed that the top layer all the way around my head was pretty straight. Since not pulling it back while it is wet, the curls are gradually returning to the top layer. I am disabled but still work 3 hrs every single day cleaning bathrooms at 2 local stores...1.5 hrs each. I MUST pull my hair back but now that warmer weather is here I have been using one of those big clips in back. I twist the hair and fold up, then down again and tuck the ends into the middle and clip. Not using scrunchies seems to have released so much tension and has allowed the curl to return. I am afraid to have layers put into my hair as I won't be able to pull it back and keep it out of my face. By the time I get home each morning my hair is soaked almost all the way to the ends ( my hair falls to just below my back bra strap) and my clothes are soaked. Would you still suggest few washes per week? It doesn't seem to feel greasy after it dries. I do have LOTS of little pieces sticking up and out all over. Any help and suggestions are appreciated. SOOOOOO GLAD I FOUND YOUR VIDEOS!!!

Virginia Serpas: This hair cut is gorgeous on your curly hair. I feel like my layers are soooo far apart. What would I say to a hair stylist to achieve this hair cut?

jay hulrs: Wow I don't think I'm coordinated enough to do that braid, but it's awesome

Queens Curry Kitchen: I had a lightbulb moment when u said one side better than the other I thought I was the only one!!

Lynzey Marie: Great tips! I never know what to do with the front. Thanks.

Jennie Gem: I always pull the top of my hair back. It seems like when I wear my hair down it falls forward. Not sure if this is because I have a widows peak or just that my hair is not cut right. How do you get the volume on top but keep it from falling forward?

Grace Wain: Amazing video thank you so much! It’s too easy to get stuck in a rut with curly hair. Can you recommend a curling wand please? X

Leena Abu fol: lol I have a bad curly side too! I thought it’s only me

Bettina Friesen: I really like the tie up top knot so I'll for sure try that and the braid is nice but I'm not good at braiding, lol. I find I just don't like to wear my curls b/c I like running my fingers through my hair and I get annoyed with my curls...but I'm trying to get used to my curls....

Sharon Nussbaum: My curls have gotten very tight & frizzy. Are there any natural things I can do to loosen my curls & make the hair overall smoother?

Sumie Antonio: These hairstyles are really good...I liked the secret pin

Shauna G: My hair in the front is so blahhh! It always flop in my face or near my eyes, I'm worried I'll get lazy eye or something. Whenever I lose my curls, I tuck behind my ears or wear a ponytail. I have to twist or scrunch my hair in the front to get definition after I wash it, but the next day, it's gone no matter what - even if I put it up. All those styles look great on you, especially the braid! Seems a bit taxing for me as I don't braid much and better at braiding down, but after seeing this, worth a try! Thanks for this!

Breeze Feather: I have curly hair kind of like her, does anyone else have this problem? When I side part naturally it falls into my face and because I keep touching like that one curl it slowly takes the curl out

Lind Jenny: Is it best to have your hair layered to get better curls?

Green Eyes: How do I arrange my hair when it’s wet so it will dry right?

Pamela: Great ideas to work the front part, HOWEVER your hair is straight on the roots. My hair is freezer on the roots and That’s my main problem with my hair using it curly, it looks really bad around my face!

Madeleine Miller: I really like your videos, but I think a few curly updo videos without braids would really be nice. Because some people don’t braid.

Ming Ming: love your hair cut, do you also cut it yourselves or you have a stylist to cut your hair? how do we get that look of layers, any tips? THANKS!

Hershey Kiss: My hair is identical to yours. I love the bobby pin idea with the small bun on top, but how the heck do you get one in all of that hair? Mine just get tangled and lost in there. LOL

Cheryl Boyd: Im backwards when my hands are over my hair so that sweet little braid would have me grabbing sissors and cutting the top of my hair out your beautiful truly but my hair is damaged by bleachim trying to heal it because my natural curls have just GONE through it from the bleach, hot irons and its been since last December
