Hey curlfriends welcome back to my channel, it's jazz and i'm back with a really quick video for you, as always, i'm starting off with freshly washed and deep conditioned hair. I'M not really gon na focus too much on the products right now, more so the technique of getting a three strand twist. I am using a cream leave-in and a cream styler, i'm not using a gel, which i think i will regret later, but as always with any style, you want to make sure you're brushing that product through. So you have even distribution, you don't want any dry patches in your style. The main thing for me, when i started doing three strand twists, is to look in the mirror at what you're doing, but because i kind of have this down, i got a rhythm but you're, basically just twisting three pieces of hair around each other, keeping each strand Smooth because that's going to make a difference as to the definition that you get so you really can just watch in the mirror and just try not to braid, because at first your habit is going to try and braid with three pieces. But if you just watch what you're doing keep looking in the mirror, this is how i was able to master it and then now i just kind of go from rhythm of just remembering to just keep a rotation going. So you want to start with the three pieces, take the first piece across and just keep doing the same thing over and over with the same three pieces, so i'm doing chunky twists. I feel like it's easier to learn by using large sections, so i also a tip if you want to get this master is to try larger sections at first. I feel like that's the easiest way to go and i am doing a finger coil at the end of these, just because i don't want to deal with any perm rods. But if your hair is currently transitioning and your ends aren't curling, you can always throw a perm rod on the ends of these. So i just want to zoom in really quick, so you can see how i'm keeping each piece smooth as i go and then, if you have to stop and brush through your hair with a brush, feel free to do so. But i am making sure to keep each piece smooth, because that is definitely going to make a difference in how your styles turn out. So one of the most important things that i could tell you about any style really is to take your time with the twists. It'S there's no rush. Um just take your time, especially if it's your first time doing this. Now this particular twist i was struggling. I could not see what i was doing, so this led me to em to twist this twist in a completely different way. I'M gon na show you a side by side. So on the left side, i'm basically wrapping my hair around itself and my fingers are no way guiding the twist on how i want them to lay on the right side. You can see every piece, i'm grabbing with my fingers and i'm wrapping it or twisting it around itself. On the left side, i'm saying on this side i'm simply just wrapping my hair around with no guidance really whatsoever and it's kind of just forming around itself and that's going to give it more of a coil than a more definition than you'll. That you'll see. I can't really describe it, but there's a difference like basically you're, just wrapping your hair around itself without really forming it into the twist. I hope that makes sense i'll show you better once i untwist my hair, but that is a difference. I see a lot of people do twists in many different ways, so there's no right or wrong way. It'S just going to give you different results, so i will show you that once i take this down, but this really did not take me long at all. I only did 10 twists and i did put a clip right there, just because that was a really large section and i didn't want my roots to be super puffy, which i probably should have done that in the front. But it's all a learning lasting you know. So i'm gon na just take these down. Please take your time when you are untwisting these and have a little bit of oil on your fingers, because you don't want to ruin all that work, especially with a three strand twist and have a frizzy mess. So i really was happy with the definition on these chunky twists. I think i will do this again um, but i think i will do gel next time, but i was really pleased i had nice shine and definition. I just i just know my hair needs gel. So you see the difference on the that front side, they're more like coils than the waves on the other side, but once it's all blending in, i feel like you can't really tell that much um. I was happy with it for a quick last minute style. I you know it all works out and i did have a little bit of frizz but hey. It was better than what i was looking like. We'Ll say that, so let me know what you guys think in the comments um. Do you like the finger coil or the waves on the right? Let me know: what's your decision on that, i'm gon na go with my usual way. I mean there's nothing wrong with finger coils. I just don't really like it on me and that's fine. For a last minute, quick style, i think this turned out great with only using 10 twists. It did not take me long at all to set this, so let me know in the comments if this is something you'd want to try. Have you tried three strand twist and as always, thank you so much for watching till next time.

Anointed Stilettos: Mine starts off as a twist and then turns into a braid . One day I'm going to leave it like that and see how it turns out ‍♀️. Yours looks good! My twist always comes out like a corkscrew and never a wave. I like your wavy look

Darnia Taylor: I've tried this at least 3 times & I always end up with braids. ‍♀️ I'm going to try on my daughter's hair & let her practice on mine. Maybe one of us will eventually get the hang of it. I love how yours turned out though.

T Sande: I like the wavy side. There’s definition and volume. Both sides look great though.

Jus' Sayin: The left side (my left looking at the screen) looks more like a natural pattern. Both sides off course look good. I like both no shocker here. Lol

Kearsten W: Girl I've tried this probably 20 times and still can't get it!!!!

daddy_girl46: Love it

Myrna J: I love it.

Phy Foster: ❤❤❤
