Hello and welcome back to my channel today's video is gon na, be a hair tutorial on this hair that I've been rocking recently. This is my go-to easy time-efficient. You can wear it for a couple of days, which I love, because if I let my natural curly hair, air-dry its unpredictable and also because of the products that I end up, putting in my hair, I feel like 2nd day is not like as great for me Personally, this hairstyle has just been my go-to. I'M going to show you guys how to get this. It'S very easy promise you, you will love it. If you guys recreate this look, don't forget to send me pictures on Twitter or IG stories. I love break posting stuff. So, let's get to it boom. Hello know. The first step is the prep work the night before this is like my lazy. I don't want to give myself a blow out hair look because I have naturally curly hair. Although my curl has gone limp within the years because I have bleached it to capacity instead of fighting my curl, I work with it with this hairstyle and I'm so happy you guys have been living it. I did a video kind of similar to this. In my getting ready Mexico vlog, but it was definitely a different texture that I ended up doing and I've changed up the technique, but the braiding is the same. So this is what you want to do. I like to kind of air dry or blow-dry, my hair. Just slightly so it's not super soaking wet, just fine, it's better, not to sleep, a soaking wet hair. So just like you know a damp vibe, then I just split my hair into two parts boom. What you want to do is have little IGAs elastic, hair bands. So all I do at night before I go to bed, I mask I'm using a charcoal mask right now, because I'm having a bit of some breakout situation going on, so I'm just gon na split my hair in half and do a very loose braid. So the reason I braid it is because I like that it gives me this really nice wave in the morning when I use curling iron in the morning to make it look really wild and wavy having that wave underneath as a base gives it a not so Uniform texture, instead of looking like I used just a curling iron it'll, give you more of a natural wave look when I'm feeling really exhausted, and I know I have something going on the next day. Well, I do this and it's so easy and I get so many compliments which is really nice because it's convenient so now you take the other half this part right here and breathe that I don't like to do a lot of braids, because the more braids you Do and the tighter and smaller the braids, the more crimpy your hair looks and I'm not really going for a crimpy. Look, I'm going more for like a soft wave natural curl. Look. I'Ve done this before in the past, where I've braided more than just for braids. In my hair - and it gives you a different mermaidy vibe, this is not that so basically, you're gon na do the same thing on the other side and if you do have like a natural curl pattern, like my front pieces are always get really wavy and curly Right here, but I let it be because that actually makes everything look more natural having that, and if you don't have that, sometimes you just sleep in a way where your hair will dry, like that. This is a wet brush, which is really great for brushing your hair when it's away - and you know, try not to brush my hair too much when it's wet but boom, and this is it. This is what you're gon na do at night. Before now, I'm gon na go crawl into bed and just be like hey Steven, I'm gon na sleep in this all night and in the morning we will finish this hair tutorial good morning. It'S the next day and I've just gotten up and did a quick little makeup. I'M going to now take off the braids make sure they're fully dry. If they're not, sometimes, I will get a blow dryer, just kind of put them with the blow dryer for a little bit before I take them out, but I think they're pretty dry at this point. This is why it's helpful that I afford to let your hair kind of air dry before doing this and putting them into the braids that way, they're not soaking, wet. It'S also better for you not to sleep with soaking wet hair too. This is what we have going on here. We have the base texture, but it looks like it was braided and that's not really the vibe we're going for. We want more of like a natural, curly hair. Looking texture, that's where this guy comes in this I got at Sally's. It'S called hot shot tools. It'S a very thin less than an inch 1/4 inch. I believe barrel, it's not too thin, where you're gon na get like really tight curls. But it's just like a good size, so I turn this on, and this is how we are going to do it instead of putting it into the clamp, which is what I did before. I am going for more of a bouncy wave that doesn't have too much of a curl. I want it to be more like this. Instead of like this, you always want to take the curling iron and point it down this way. So what I'm gon na do is start off with just a random piece to show you guys. I need this one, so if you want to use the heat protectant, this is what I use. It is in common magic mist, and this is like leave-in conditioner. It also protects it from heat and strengthens it again point this down and I am curling the first piece away from my face, see how much space I have in between each chunk of hair. I want it to be more of loose wave and then I'm gon na do the ends here kind of leave a little bit at the end out like that. You want it to be very relaxed, so the more space you have in between the hair see there. You could go here, that's too tight. We want to take it down here at a diagonal like a candy cane. Think of it like a candy cane, because we have such large gaps in between my hair length doesn't fit so I'll do the top part, and then I will do the bottom part and it moves pretty quickly. You can already tell right now, just with those two pieces, that it looks less Brady and more of a wild texture, and I just keep getting random pieces throughout my hair and waving them like this. So right now so far, I've only curled away from my face, but because we're doing more of a natural curly look it's nice to switch up the direction in which we are curling. So this is away from the face and then after I curl I kind of pull down on the curl, because again I don't want it to be too done'. So then the next piece, let's try curling it go towards our face. This is gon na give you a less uniform look. I always tend to pick up see. This piece looks a little frizzy and so that's a piece that I'm gon na choose to curl, because I need to smooth that out a little away from my face. I was really no rhyme or reason whether I do away or towards I just I do this while watching Netflix on my iPad and I'm just kind of like randomly grabbing the pieces, really quickly see how I have this natural wave here. So I want to keep that, and I want to do anything with that. Sometimes I'll just grab this and just grab the end of it merge it if you will into my longer hairs, because those are shorter bangs for me, so that it looks like it's all. One long piece: it's natural, alright, so now I'm gon na grab some of these top pieces. I'M just going to do the same thing away from the face. This is such an easy hair tutorial you guys once you got a hang of how you want the curl, like I taught my mom had to do this. She has wake earlier hair than me, but sometimes you know if you're a curly-haired girl. You understand that it can be so unpredictable as to how your curl pattern decides. It wants to play you that day, like some days, your hair will look so good in other days. It'S like what is happening. I'M just braiding it at night helps you have more of that, like natural texture, so here's a good example of a curl that I don't like clearly I held on to just this part with the with the heat for too long. So it's almost like very curled here and then soft everywhere else. You see that like to me, that's what it feels like and then up here. There'S no curl! You know my keys, so I'm gon na go back again brush through it. I'M gon na start up here. Sometimes when it's wrapped around the barrel, I open the clamp a little bit to just really put the heat on the hair, and it also helps me like slide through as well see how much softer that is. Now it's like. A soft wave opposed to like whatever kinky mess, was happening earlier, and I do find that, like okay, when I wear do my hair, naturally curly it's almost like every day, I have to do it again. Like my second day. Curly hair is not that cute. I have to put it up in a bun or something, and it's just like harder to work with, but when I style it like this, it holds a curl so much longer and the next day. I just do the same thing. I touch it up just like this. It still looks really soft and bouncy, and I think the reason is because I'm not putting a lot of product opposed to when I wear my hair curly. Naturally, I use a lot of product so just like it's kind of like this side looks very braided and this side looks more curly, vibe, eBay and then another tip see these ends. When you do your hair at night and put the braids in obviously like some ends are left out like this. We don't want to keep it like that. We want to make sure that the ends don't look choppy like this, so I just start to grab some pieces I'll make sure to get the ends in sometimes I leave the ends out, but in those choppy areas I need to break it up. So I put them into the wave boom and let them know you could see instantly this one is the one I just fixed. You see how different this end looks compared to whatever is going on down here, for that you could just put it in the clamp, and I just kind of go down, wrap it really fast. Let it go, you don't have to do every end of your hair. Just enough to where it breaks up at the end, so they don't look uniform and, like all the same choppy see now it's already like I've already done a couple. It'S already looking a lot better. Okay, so the one thing that I don't do when I wear my hair, naturally curly has brushed through it after it's done and dry, but with this style I do brush through it to soften and break up the waves, but not like really hard. I brush through it make it look soft and fluffy. This is a Mason Pearson brush. I like a fluffy like wild look, so I rushed through it and then I kind of twist the curls that I want to be more uniform together. This is the texture that you end up with over here. I'M gon na go ahead and do this side and I'll just speed you guys through the side, so you can still see what I'm doing, but I don't need to really talk you through it because I just showed you all this good just almost done here. Well, I put in a little elbow grease after all right then you will have something that looks like this. So just run my fingers through it fluff it up. I don't always get the back very good. Like I tried my mom usually will. Let me know if there's some discrepancies and then lastly, I just apply some oil to my hair. You can use any oil, you have this. One is the orb, a gold lust nourishing hair oil and I just take one pump. This goes a long way and I just run it through any parts that tend to get more frizzy for me and kind of twirl, a hair, and my fingers like this. So, for me, that's like these front pieces right and all my top here, and this is it. This is my. I don't know what I'm gon na call this hair tutorial yeah, but this is the hair I've been wearing lately, it's very easy. I promise you once you get the hang of it like quick, you don't want to give yourself a blowout BAM. This is the hairstyle for you. You know you have broken hairs. That you're trying to hide me BAM. This is the hairstyle for me. That is it. Thank you guys so much for watching love you so much and I'll see you later, Oh makeup, all over my shirt, Michael telling here this is a french fry. Chris cut it up in here. Why don't you guys tell me this was opening? Oh

Emma Tote: one of the only influencers who reveals ALL her secrets for us!!!

Christen Dominique: Gorgeous i'm definitely trying this!!

Beauty By Anne-Marie: I love it! So pretty! I just cut my hair to a short bob but am going to try this xoxo

MUAlivia •: For my girls with straight hair that don’t hold heated curls, I highly recommend those long foam rollers (not the old fashion pastel pink ones) these ones come in different lengths and widths, and are flexible. I spritz my hair with some water, not too much, start at the end and spin to get your hair wrapped up the whole tube, then twist both ends until they’re in a little bun. Do that with al your hair in small sections. If my hair is dry before I do this, I can have perfectly natural looking curls that last for DAYS in like 2 hours tops (to put in, then dry) and if my hairs damp from a shower, I do over night and get the same results. Completely changed my hair game and actually lasts bc if I use any form of heat on my hair, I end up with just a wave at the end of my hair and the rest is back to being straight af. Anyways, I’m gonna post a tutorial of using those foam things on my page, but you can find them anywhere (beauty supply stores or amazon)

Alina Volkova: I have naturally straight fine hair and I still love this look on me! the main difference is I do two tighter Dutch braids on damp hair so that I get that wavy texture closer to my root. I also braid as close to my ends as I can so that my ends arent pin straight. then I still follow the same curling steps as desi :) hope this helps! p.s. I dont put any product in my hair besides some texturizing spray or dry shampoo the next couple days to freshen it up.

Cori Taylorr: Desi was giving me Shakira vibes with this look

Ashly Nakatani: Who here has naturally curly hair but is still watching lol

Jade vT: If you don't want the straight ends, tie off your braid then add 1 or 2 mini elastics with spaces between on the little tail of the braid.

Lynn Lee: Hey Desi! A faster trick to your curling method is to just wrap the entire strand of hair into the curling iron, then when you release you pull the strand down completely to stretch out the curl, hold for 3-5 seconds, and VOILA! This is probably faster and more efficient than doing it in 2 sections per strand of hair. Hope this helps and makes sense! love ya xoxo❤️

janina brugman: This tutorial is what I’ve always needed for my natural frizzy curl

Jenn Morrison: I'm such a huge fan of this method. Helped me grow my hair out 12" in 2 years (lob to waist length). Spend 3 minutes doing braids at night and voila - instant heatless base for a few random curls in the morning. Spritz of Oribe or Ouai texture sprays and you're golden. Saves time and hair health! 10/10 recommend to anybody looking to grow. Not to mention it's a protective sleep style!

BoutMyFathersBizness: This is exactly how I spice up my natural curls! Except I learned something new, the wider spaces & at a diagonal! I usually don’t leave much space because my hair is so long. I feel like this technique would take me A LOT longer because of my length buttttt I definitely want to try it & see how it changes the look

Erin Kelly: A way to prevent your ends from being straight is to add a roller to your braid

Steffany Colleran: Love this style, I do it a lot in the summer time! Can’t wait for my hair to be long again to get that same effect though

frizzylizzy20: Yes!!! Thanks Desi! I’ve been wanting to rock my natural curls more too but have the bleaching dilemma as well. You’ve shown me the answer I was looking for!!

Your Witch Besti: Tbh I have wavey hair, and I didn’t have to braid it. I just had to do the curling rod part, and my hair came out beautiful and gorgeous; thanks for the hair tutorial

pink elephants and lemonades: You lookin so fresh nowadays, girl! ❤️ Whatever you're on, whatever you're into, whatever mindset you have now, I see that it definitely is working for you. I hope, in our 2020 it would be the start to let go of all the negativity, keep away from all the drama, and just be positive. It's for our own selves and for the betterment of whatever community we are in. It all starts with ourselves. Be grateful for the position you're in because you have the privilege to influence people. And it would be better if that influence is positive, don't you think? Then let the positivity ripple on.

Megan LaBudda: Can’t wait to watch this once I’m off work! I’ve been obsessed with your hair lately! ❤️

Shehnaaz Mia: Desi!!! You came through of course you came through for us! You never disappoint thank you so much for this beautiful tutorial. I absolutely love it! I am definitely going to give this a try❤️❤️❤️

Jessica Lehner: For a straight hair girl I love tutorials like this! Can’t wait to try it!

Angela Estrada: LOVELY! ☺️ doing this on my hair/extensions tonight! I’ve been going lighter with my hair and have some breaking from bleaching and waving it with hide it better than wearing it with big waves! Thanks Desi

And I Oop-: I’m trying this and I’ll tell u and how it goesss Edit: so basically first time I did it it was nice but I took it out too fast (2 hrs) Second time I did 10 plaits overnight and they turned out rlly nice but crimped x Thx for this method

Elizabeth Grego: I have naturally curly hair that I left long and natural for most of my life. The past few years I have kept it shorter and blown out. The past few months I have been working on getting my curls back. This video is inspiring me to let my hair grow and play with my curly hair. I feel like this hairstyle is a great transition for people trying to nourish their curls, too. This takes very minimal heat. Thanks Desi, and you look gorgeous!

Weylie Hoang: The tutorial I needed! Gonna try this out tomorrow!

Briana Kendrix: I’ve been waiting for this tutorial! I have naturally curly/wavy hair and I frequently braid it on 3rd or 4th day hair so I can’t wait to implement this to make it even better!!

Ali Andreea: I'm so glad you've posted this video! I've been loooooving this hair style !

Rachel Macfarlane: My hair naturally looks like this but sometimes it needs some help. This was really helpful tutorial because you showed me how to mimic the curls I already have so I can touch up my everyday hair :)

Blue: Here’s an idea for ya !! Why don’t you try the curly girl method with all curly hair products from start to finish and film it !! That’d be a cool concept and the results might actually surprise you Love you endlessly

Hannah Hickey: I tried this out and I am obsessed!! I never have ever liked my natural curl. Even though I wear it curly I always straighten it before curling it as my hair is frizzy, boofy and basically always looking like a birds nest.I never thought to braid it to help unify the curls and even though this method does use heat it’s so much less than what I was using before (so I’m gonna take it!!) Thankyou!!

Tawny: Yessssss you gave us a tut! Immediately doing this for my hair tonight ‍♀️

Samantha Hudson: Thank you for the tut Going to finally start rocking my curly hair.

Becca Lyn: This video is giving me 2012/2013 vibes of when I was obsessed with hair tutorials!! Keep ‘em coming!!

BEAUTIFIEDyou: IVE BEEN DYING FOR THIS TUTORIAL!!!!! Can’t wait to recreate

Gemma Hemens: if you have hair which is sort of uncurlable or won’t hold curls, the dressing gown technique was a blessing to me. actually looks like curls from a wand rather than being crimped (like when using plaits) and more comfortable than foam rollers.

K A: This is the BEST hair secret I've been doing for OVER TEN YEARS!! Started in highschool and my hairdresser asked me what I did because it looked like i had it professionally done daily. After trying literally every version possible- DESI NAILED IT!! Im lazy and also very bad with curl irons soooo if you're like me definitely try out the wave crimper!

chelly yo: Omg I cannot thank you enough for this technique! I used it last night and today and I love the way my hair turned out!! Thank you!!

Brianna M: Wow I’m obsessed it looks so good!! I have braided my hair before but it gave off that look like I slept in braids. This is way cutier I’m gonna do this soon thanks

Emma: It looks so good! Thank you for the tutorial!

pa houa Vang: I love how you explain the step. Very simple to understand but also specific and direct to follow the tutorial

Luisa Fernanda Franco: I been waiting on this video forever! so ready to rock the curls, i even gonna go blonde just for it! love you desi

Marshay R: Absolutely love this video , I have damaged curly hair and trying this has made my hair look so amazing xx thank you I’ve recently started a new business venture making hair products specifically for curly hair as I struggle to find products that really work for my hair. You have inspired me to start this as, you’ve made me fall back in love with my hair and your videos always amazing xx plus I’ve just turned 16 so i think starting this business will set me on the right road for life

Lara Albrecht: Love it!! Just slept in braids last night and debated using my wand a bit. I highly recommend Monat’s Air Dry Cream before you braid. It really helps lock-in the curl. It keeps my super straight hair stay curly, longer.

hayley: my hair is dead straight so I've been on a 'heatless curls overnight' marathon.

Cassandra Nolan: You are the best teacher Desi! I’ll be trying this on the weekend x

Rachael Brook: This is my go-to holiday hair so I can pretend my naturally straight hair has texture. Your hair looks unreal like this!

Vivian Hermann: I‘ve always did it exactly like that, I‘m so happy right now Looks so beautiful!

Valerie Mendoza: I have naturally pin straight hair and I do this but instead I’ll sleep with 2 French braids I feel it holds the curl better throughout the day for us straight haired girlz

rihan o'deh: So beautiful, I do this all the time; but I keep the braids more than one night, I get the final look immediately.

Melissa Welz: Love love this! So easy to do! Thanks!

Ashley Islas: Yes! I would usually sleep with just one full French braid but this seems easier! Yay! Xo

Julianne718: Hi Desi, I do just what you are doing to my hair sometimes. But when I do, before I take it out of the braids in the morning I take the bottom of each braid and take the rubber band off while holding the braid together. Then I take the curling iron and very briefly slightly curl under the end while the braid is still in. That takes away the straight ends in a very quick way so you don’t have to do each piece individually later!
