So the other day, I saw a video of someone curling their straight hair using only socks. Now I really want to use this method out on my daughter who has straight hair and see if it actually works. When I was in third grade, I would read American Girl books and one of those books was called changes for Molly inside this book. There'S a hair tutorial on how to get your straight hair curly. So me, and my four sisters would do this to our hair. We would put the pins in her hair and sleep with it overnight, so the next day our hair would be super curly. So now Sophia is in third grade and she's really into getting her hair done and she likes to get it curly. So I think, be fun to try it this sock method on Sophia and see how it works. Sophia'S hair is super straight. I'M gon na get her hair a little wet and I'm going to put Maui coconut oil in her hair and that will help with the frizz and to keep her hair smooth and shiny. So I'm gon na wet your hair a little bit. Okay, just missed it! A little bit just don't you're, not good. What are you? Okay, we're gon na put some minutes in here, just a little bit. Yeah it'll just help with the frizz, so you don't have frizzy hair when we're done with this all right. New split Sophia's hair down the middle because we are going to have six sections on her head, so we're gon na have six socks and three socks on both sides of her head. Okay, can you hold this? You hold that okay, all right you're gon na want socks that are long because we are gon na wrap the hair around the sock and then tie it off on the top of her head. And hopefully this will be nice and soft for you to sleep line. Yeah all right, I'm gon na place this right up on her head like this, and I'm gon na place it on her head right here and I'm just going to wrap the hair and just start twisting it around the sock, super-easy mm-hmm Sofia. You can be doing this okay, now that I have it all twisted up, I'm just going to hold on to the end, so it doesn't unravel and lift it up and make a knot. Thank you. I need another hand. I'M gon na give it one more knot. Just to get it out of the way so that we can work on the rest of your head, all right, you do that right, yeah! I did I'm going to part your hair now in two more sections, because we have to do three yeah both of the sides all right. I'M gon na split your hair up one last time down the middle. A hair tie this off keep the split from interfering with the other side, get this next section right: how's that feel good, nice and smooth mm-hmm. Where are my socks? Yeah you hold them, you hand me one when I need it. I had straight hair when I was Sofia's age, but when I turned 13 my hair started going curly and then it's like it is right now, so maybe Sofia will have curly hair when she's older. But right now I am dealing with a massive amount of friends. Just like hovering over it's a crown of frizz, so the struggle is real. Real these days, all right, Sofia wait where'd. I put this sock on. Oh, I put it behind, so you want to put the sock behind and start curling the hair around and then we'll just tie a knot right there hey tight and then this extra I'm just gon na give it one more try to get it off her head. Looking good for ya, so I'm gon na try to keep as high as possible, so you're not laying on it. I think the more you do it cuz I'm getting the hang of it now yeah and then give it a nice tie there there. It is so we got three on this side right there and then I'm going to do this side with three more so basically, I'm just gon na do everything. I just did on this side, see this side and this side just kind of just got a little. A mohawk of socks going on, but it's finished it was quick and easy, and now we're just gon na wait. Sophia is going to sleep on it and in the morning we're gon na take out the socks and see if it made our hair curly. So I'm really curious to see how it's gon na turn out and I'm pretty excited cuz. I think it's gon na look good anything. It'S gon na be really cool. All right, Sophia's hair is completely dry. It is the morning and now we're gon na see what it looks like when we take it out. Is it gon na be curly? I'M gon na just get started on taking out these socks and I think the socks did pretty well holding up all through the night and Sophia was walking around a lot this morning and they still held up so I'm gon na unwrap them just gon na on Coil, I'm gon na call it it's going down. Yeah. That looks amazing. Look how look at that bounce. Let'S take out the others, all right! Okay, we coil from the top yeah wait. Do you love it? Can you see? No? Okay, don't don't look? Okay, we do the other side Sophia. It is so curly in the back major curls, I'm even look so different after this okay, one more sock down me good, moving, surprised, you're what my heart's pumping so fast, oh, okay, okay, turn to the side. This side look at that. Look how curly that is. Can I turn this way? Okay, I'm just gon na separate her curls a little bit. Let'S not make it too much of a giant clumps! Oh turn, your head. Does anybody enter family houses here, sir curly? Okay? I separate her hair, I'm just gon na flip it over and we'll just shake it out a little bit and then Sophie it's gon na be done all right, ready, flip your hair over just give it a little loose loosen these curls Sofia. This is really crazy. Okay, ready, okay, flip it up. You don't even see it: okay, okay, okay, okay, turn around a little bit turn your head: let's see the back! You see that wow. That looks amazing. You want to show everybody. Yes, we'll see what they think. I think we should go get daddy now, yeah, okay, hey Mike Mike, come downstairs. You guys see some cute she's done. It'S all done! You can see it. You can like. Oh that's easy in my crease Wow. I obviously didn't think it's gon na be that curly Wow. What do you think via? Do you like it? Yes, Wow? What do you think? No one are you naked here comes Micah, Micah, Yamini, no long ball, no you're gon na go. Look at Sofia's hair. Come here come here close your eyes. Sofia come over here, hold on hold on okay, look at Sofia's hair turnaround via. Oh, you already solved from up there. What do you think? Do you like it, or do you love it? You don't like it. Do you like mommy's, curly, hair, okay, well least, you're, honest all right, let's see what Jeremiah thinks yeah you like her hair. Are you nervous Jerry, take Noah, pretty nervous, oh yeah deal. Oh, I'm not sure how much Jeremiah likes Sophia's curly hair, but I, like you like mommy's, hair, okay. Well, that's very nice of you to say if you guys are new to this channel, I want you guys to know that Micah. Has this thing about the like button and he's kind of selfish when it comes to it and he he says when you push that button, you're pushing it for him. So what do you say? Micah Wow? What are you supposed to say?

The Moore The Merrier Vlogs: I think the sock results were amazing! What do you think?!?! Hit that button for Micah and his hiccups

A lina: The joy in Sophias eyes when her hair got unraveled ... so adorable

brenna: it’s so frustrating how y’all don’t have more subscribers.. you’re videos are SO GOOD and deserve so much attention❤️

Dianna Zugai: This is the cutest video ever!! I love how her daddy and siblings react. I always curled my girls hair at night or braided for extra volume. Now, Sophia has the best of both worlds, straight or curly hair. Great job on getting the entire family involved. Adorable family dynamics and another reason I love this!!

Cheryl Sorn: My grandmother did this to my hair when I was little. However she took a pillow case and cut it into strips and did the very same thing. I loved it! Great video

Newfiemom4: What a fun and easy way to get curly hair. I’m reminded of when I was a kid (back in the 60’s). My mom would curl my hair every Saturday night using those wire curlers that had bristle brushes in the middle and every Sunday morning it was so painful trying to get them out after sleeping in them all night.

Myungjin Yang: Hello! Watched a couple of your videos and wanted to say I really like the positive energy and wholesome vibe you and your family show :) I hope you gain more viewers! Also the curls came out pretty!

C Couch: I just really love watching your family and the support you all give each other is so heart warming & loving. Sofia looks so much like you with her hair curly ❤️ So fun!!! Will have to try this out on my niece! My daughter had really curly hair and my younger niece does too so my oldest niece wants curly hair so this would be a fun way to do that for her!!! Thanks for sharing!!

MrMrs Welch: Don't listen to the haters! This was beautiful! The two of you were so precious doing her hair. Super cute

PAT TRENT: When my youngest granddaughter was in 2-3 grade I curled her hair on sponge rollers. For her school photo..when her photo came back there’s one pink roller underneath showing lol

Kate Paige: What an adorable family! You just don’t see families like that much anymore. It brings joy to my heart. ❤️

Susie Pam: So cute! I always had straight hair, slept with rollers, etc. My mother had "pin curls" that worked, but not too well. This was in the 60's.

Dr. Kristin: Looks adorable!! I too use the socks to get fabulous curls in my half straight, half wavy hair. My technique is a bit different and I think it works even better. I start from the bottom and just curl it up and under. Instead of tying the socks (sometimes I get a bit of hair mixed in the knots ... so I just loop the top opening of sock over the whole thing. I do not go as high on the head Because to sleep comfortably either need to put them on the very tip top or hang down about where the ears are, maybe a little below. With this method the curls are so defined and just perfect ringlette curls in which you can affect the size by using thick socks and big sections of hair or thin socks with smaller sections of hair, or any combo. With tiny bit of dampness and a tiny bit of product in my hair these beautiful curls will last up to three days and then start to turn into dreadlocks... but not fall out!!! It really is worth trying this way and your daughter has such pretty hair so it might be fun. Dr. Kristin

Tish Bowman: My mother, grandmother and great grandmother all curled their hair using strips of cloths. My mom used sponge curlers as well as pin curling. Curling hair without heat has been around a long time!

Kerrie Leybourne: My mom did this when I was a kid.. she also used old pillow cases and would cut them up into strips :)

JUNKOOKIE JIMINIE: I tried this without my parents knowing and it was so curly I loved it thank you!

Robin Bird 62: Thank you for showing us how to do this method, it was used in the olden days before curling irons and I always wondered how it worked to avoid damaging my hair! You have such a beautiful family! ‍♀️

Hannah Truly Elisha: Awe your daughter looked so happy when she saw the first curl! ☺️

roze quinn: I did this to my daughter when she was young. Took an old tee shirt cut in strips. It's called rag curls

Lynette Hoselton: Too cute! I love it! She's so happy! That is a great invention. I will have to try it and tell my daughter about it. Thanks for sharing!

Gidget M: First off...when watching this video I thought you were a teenager, you look amazing and so young and naturally beautiful! I love the video with you and your daughter experimenting...look like she was enjoying herself. I'm going to try this myself; I have naturally straight hair and my daughter has naturally curly hair, but she tends to where it straight more often than not. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to trying this myself.

LeeZet: wow... this was a big success!!! And she looks awesome with those curls! :) <3 Love it and definetely will try this out, too! :)

Cindyrelly: Ohmagosh! Sophia's reaction to the very first curl, she is just too stinkin' cute!

vmcgriff: Sophia!! Your hair looks beautiful!! When I was your age every Saturday night we would wash my hair and my mom would roll small sections of my wet hair in Bobby pin curls. You would take small sections of hair starting at the crown roll from the bottom up into a pinwheel then clip with a Bobby pin. The next morning my hair would be all spring curls and ready to go to church :) It looked a lot like yours. I loved it!

Cheryl H: Sophia 's hair looked amazing! How fun!! Can't wait to see you guys next week. LIKED for Micah! Have a great week!

Sanika: Loved your channel. You guys definitely deserve more!❤LOT'S OF LOVE

Katia Dimarco: I love it ❤ I will try this sock method. Thank you Darling for share it with us

Lynne Lipovsek: When i was about the same age my mom used strips of old clean cotton sheets torn into strips about 2" wide and about 2' long and would wrap them around sections of my hair starting at the top of each and wrapping down 5o the bottom and tie them off .Well that was many years ago but the memory is still very clear , and would end up with ringlets or a great ponytail ,im soon to be 69 ! Ty for sharing this with us ☺

Kelly Moore: I love this channel. I have curly hair and so does my daughter. Curls are so fun!

Namandeep Kaur: I can probably relate to this. My Mom has curly hair and so does my brother. I had straight hair till I was 18 or 19. One wash day, I suddenly had curls.

SGT FUBAR: Once her hair was all curly she looked like her mommy. Just beautiful.

Can’t wait ‘til 40 when all the girls who made fun of me growing up wished they looked as young Love the video - thanks!

Brigette Turner: Oh my Goodness, what a BEAUTIFUL FAMILY! I will have to try this on my Granddaughter's Hair! She has some Curl and allot of Hair, but She wants those Curls! It's funny both my daughters had no curls until they were teenagers and then Boom, curls curls everywhere! Thank you and God Bless!l

Gadget Girl66: I had blonde hair until I hit about 13 and puberty struck. My hair went strawberry blonde and then auburn by my early 20’s. It is also now naturally curly. I bet Sophia has gorgeous hair when she’s grown if her hair now is any preview!

Robin Gregory: Sophia's hair looked beautiful, but I think it always looks beautiful. I can't believe socks did that!

Kelem Woldegebriel: I have extremely curly and thick hair (about 4a if you know the curl types) and what drew me here was the quality of the thumbnail. You have some good quality videos too

Suz: Beautiful....wish my hair was long enough to try this! I remember my mum putting rags in my hair when I was young to make it curly, now it's just wavy and I don't like it lol! :)

Annie: Damn you made it look so easy! I feel like I would still find a way to not be able to wrap my hair around a sock

shepherdb0y: You guys are such a sweet, wholesome family

Karen Mack: Everything old is new again. I am 57 and my mom showed me how to roll my hair on socks when I was about that age. If you do it well, it makes beautiful lasting curls.

Duke1987: That's amazing that using socks could cause that many curls. Sophia's hair looked really nice A big thumbs up for Micah

kcotjo: I'm 62 and as a child my grandmother would put my hair in "rags"....they were long strips of sheet like fabric. The next morning I had ringlets for curls. In high school I would wash my hair at night, put it up in a pony tail and curl it with socks. Easy to sleep in and my hair would be super full and curled in the morning.

AngieP P.: Black women have been doing this method for centuries! Including the oil! My mom used socks on our natural hair. Our curls always looked so pretty! Had no idea it would work on cacassion hair too. interesting!

Chris Garcia: Cool vlog!!! My daughter has super curly hair!

Neb_red: Rag curls...my mom would do them for me when I was your daughter's age. She used torn strips of old sheets and it would give me ringlets like Nellie from Little House on the Prairie. It was a common way to curl hair.

Yanet Moran: I love your videos you guys are amazing and hope nothing but the best from you guys during these hard times

Catarino Perez: I'm a guy and I tried it and MAN! IT WORKED!.... THANKS!... And you have a beautiful family ❤️ hugs!

JoAnne Brown: This is so funny to see these folks discover something that was popular years ago. Back in the 60's I rolled my hair on hosiery. It is very comfortable to sleep in and makes gorgeous curls. My mom used pieces of rags back in the 40's. Just watch what color pantyhose you use or you might miss one. The smaller the amount of hair rolled, the tighter the curl will be. And if you put it up moist, the curls last a LONG time.

fnafplush1614: You can use on damp/almost dry hair, used dryer sheets, cut in half, tie on end of strand and roll it and hair up to scalp tie off.,Keeps frizzes down and you can sleep on it.Easy, peasy.Smells good too.And I didn't spend 6-8 dollars on socks. You can also use strips of cloth,do the same thing. This family is adorable, the look on Sophia's face was so sweet.

Truth be Told: Beautiful ❤️

Maila Sandi: Sophia is so lovely, calm and fun

Susanna Parkes: No way! My hair was straight until I was about 13 too. I've never known anyone else's hair go really curly like mine did...

Dione lea: Your hair was straight and then it starting getting curly at age 13! Wow wonder how that happened. Love your hair!

Angela R Pierce: Sophia's excited giggle when you unwrapped the first sock was precious!!!

Tracey Frati: You can do this with dish towels cut in strips. They use to do this in the 50's and 60's, called rag curls.
