Hey, what's up everyone its, I east hair again with another video, so I always get questions on how I air dry, my hair, so I decided to show you guys exactly how I do it in this video, because I'm always getting compliments so right here. My hair is freshly washed. It is well deep conditioned, so it is important to start with well conditioned hair. That is the first step to get in great air dried results. So right here I am detangling my hair from the ends to the roots thoroughly, because you always want to make sure your hair is well detangle before you begin to put it in the air drying form. Also, another thing to keep in mind is to start your air drying process on damp hair. You don't want to start on dry hair and you also don't want to start on dripping wet hair. So I always start on damp hair, and I just let my hair stay in the towel for about 10 minutes. But today I got distracted and it was sitting for like 20 minutes, but it was still super damp after I took the towel down because on damp hair, it's easier to train your hair into a specific state versus if it's already dry, it's probably already crinkly and Already form to that shape, so I'm still detangling my hair from the ends to the roots thoroughly. That is important also because you want all of your hair going down, but don't worry if your hair gets too dry, you can always wet it again. Spritz it with some water in the little water bottle just to read dampen it so right here, I'm just showing you guys all of the shedding hair loss on my wash day. Ok guys so now on to the good part. So this is basically what I call the training wheels of air drying. So this is how I learned to air dry, my hair, and what you want to do after you detangle your hair is comb your hair, going back comb all of your hair, going back, make sure it is nice and smooth get all of the lumps out. It is going straight back just keep combing and combing and combing. So that is what I am doing right now and what I'm doing is preparing my hair to put a Garf over it so that the edges can lay flat and you will see as it goes by so the front of my edges got a bit dry. So I put some water on it. I just wet my hands and then rub it with the water just to read dampen it so that it can lay flat when I put the scarf over it, and then I get my nape and everything like that and then right here I take my little hair. Clip just to pin my hair out of the way just twist it up and pin it so that I can put the scarf on and none of my hair get like tangled in the scarf, and then I take my satin scarf. You want to make sure you use a satin or a silk material, because cotton will dry your hair out and suck up all of that moisture from your hair. So I fold mines once in this video to make it smaller, but I should have folded two times so make sure you make it like really skinny. I haven't done this method in a while, because my hair can air dry without the scarf now but yeah. I learned I seen at the end of the video I really should have folded it twice, so that it is a bit thinner, so yeah keep that in mind yeah, so now that my hair is all tied down in the front, this is where I like. The ends hang loose, so another great tip I have for you guys, is to wear a bra or a tank top while your air drying your hair, so that it's not rubbing against a cotton shirt so that the ends don't come out frizzy and bushy. And then I put a little bit of moisturizer on the ends of my hair. I don't like my hair to be weighed down on my wash day. So just a little bit of leaving or moisturizer, you can even use a little bit of sirum. Serum will actually makes your hair really really smooth so now that the air drying process has begun, you want to make sure you comb through your hair, every 20 to 30 minutes, while your hair is air drying. This prevents your ends from folding up and becoming bushy. So I comb through my hair every about 30 minutes so right here it is 30 minutes later and I'm combing through my hair. You want to keep your hair in that straight form and combing through it frequently will make sure your hair stays straight. So keep a comb nearby while you air dry, the last step to my air drying routine, is using my blow dryer on cool air. So I used my blow dryer on cool air when my hair is about 90 percent dry, not when it's 100 percent dry and not when it's too damp, but it's like 90 percent dry and like the roots are still damp. I go over it on cool air. Just to smooth down the cuticle, this gives my hair that flowy look and feel to it, and it makes my hair appear much more shinier and it straightens it more a bit as well so yeah. This step has helped me so much like ever since I added this step to my air drying routine. It has taken my air dried hair to the next level, so I don't do this until my hair is 100 % dry. I just do this for about um. Three to five minutes, just blowing it out, because the purposes of doing this is to smooth down the hair cuticles so that the hair is much more smooth and not necessarily to dry it, because it will take all day and like never dry. But after I do this, I just let my hair continue drying after I do this process yep. So after I left my hair continued air drying, it is super smooth, super soft and then I just take off the satin scarf. I didn't notice. My hair was a bit damp hair, but it was so late at night, but if your hair, still damn you can just let it air dry without the scarf or you can go over it with the blow dryer on cool air again just to get rid of Some of the dampness, so my air, dried hair, has come a long way from those days where it will be like super crunchy and crispy and just will break all over the place and be rough, I'm so happy. I don't get those results anymore and my hair has been trained to air dry without the satin scarf, so I showed you guys a satin scarf for those who are new or having trouble air drying their hair without it. But I follow all of these steps. Religiously, except the satin scarf when I'm air drying my hair, now so happy to share my technique with you aw. This is what works for my hair, and my hair did not agree with this at first. It did take a few times for my hair to be trained to be dried. In this way you can leave some of your air drying techniques down below. I would love to hear and see if you guys air dry, your hair. Similarly, but thank you guys so much for watching this video

Shirlz: Snap! Great results! I just air dried my hair tonight and love how it turns out now that I have mastered how to get smooth results yay! Serums help a lot - I use Chi Silk Infusion and before that I use Mizani 25 miracle milk leave in (great for my 8 weeks post relaxed hair) and for added moisture in winter I add the Cantu shea butter leave in cream. I don't need to blow dry my roots on cool air... Unless I'm in a rush lol! To add a slight curl to my ends I'll either sleep with one large bendy roller or I'll just roll the ends in one tuck and secure with a Bobby pin AKA hair grip (UK) and I do need to use my satin hair tie to lay those edges down with wrap set mousse when I'm this many weeks post x

Alorah: . My routine is very similar! When I get around 5 weeks post and my edges start to puff up, I'll use a pump of setting lotion and work it into my edges/bang area..then I put my scarf on. It really helps to lay the hair down and I get that crisp wrap effect. TFS

ʚ#`AM4YASCHARMXO.°-: This is a great video! I need to try out your method. I always air dry my hair but it comes out puffy...no flat like yours.

AbsoluteMdot: Your hair looks beautiful! Thanks for this video!

Kinetra Jackson: Thanks you so much your channel. I was natural for 5 years and really enjoyed the experience and my natural hair. But do to health reasons i had to relax my hair. ( Contrary to popular belief natural hair is not easier and takes way way longer to style. That's just my experience. ) But anyway i have forgoten how to style my hair. Before when i was relaxed i always kept a pixie cut of some sort. But lo and behold after after being natural for so long i now have shoulder length hair. What to do. What to do. But any way girl thanks. Keep up the good work.

Arielle Belizaire: Hi Tyiece I really appreciate your videos. I have been on my journey for 3 years and I feel like my hair has not made progress. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The one thing I need to do is to stop going to my stylist! Your hair is so beautiful

Soulflwr1: Gonna try this. Thank u!! U have beautiful hair.

Kalisha J: Can you please tell me the name of your blow dryer, I would love one that has an actual cool setting. If I'm going to air dry then most likely I'm doing a protective style for the week. I add my leave-ins and a serum and I just put mine into 2 flat twists and tie my scarf around it. Great video!!

Amanda N.: What is the purpose of the scarf? Is it just to make sure the roots lay flat?

strictlycommentary: Woah not sure what I did wrong but my hair dried SO THICK AND PUFFY. I broke a lot of it off just trying to comb through it unfortunately =( It is super conditioned but not at all straight and I am only about 3 weeks into my relaxer lol
