Straightening My Own Natural Hair For The First Time | 4 Type Hair | From Kinky Curly To Straight

Hey everyone and welcome back to my channel so in this video i'm going to be straightening my hair. If you're interested in this video, then please stay tuned, so i'm just showing you guys my protective style that i've had in for the past two months. I went ahead and took down my braids and detangled my hair washed, my hair and blow dried, my hair, so i didn't record that process because i recently did a whole hair, routine breakdown. Um. I think it's like five to six videos that i did where i literally broke down my hair routine. So it's literally the same thing, so i didn't feel the need to record it. That'S where all the videos are at i'll link it in the cards above or down in the description box, but yeah. I show you guys my take down process as well as my detangle process and wash day and blow dry. So now, i'm just showing you guys um the products that i used when i was blow drying my hair. So i just used the tresemme heat protectant spray, and then i use the crayol lily, aloe hibiscus curl, refreshing spray and those are the two products i use while blow drying. My hair, i blow dried my hair the day before. I also use the revlon one step: hair blow, dryer and styler. So now i'm just going to start flat iron, my hair, so the flat iron that i'm using. I got this years ago from marshalls um. It'S called fahrenheit i'll see if i'm able to find a link for it. If i am then i'll link it in the description box um also, i am flat ironing my hair on 450 degrees and i didn't apply any extra like heat protectant to my hair. So this video isn't really a tutorial on how to flat iron your hair, because i'm not sure exactly what i'm doing um. I normally go to like the salon and get me like a silk press and trim, and that is because in the past, when i tried to flat iron my hair, my hair would immediately just revert back um. So clearly i was doing something wrong. So that's why? I started going to the salon, but my hairstylist, like she rebooked, so i decided to flat iron my own hair and just give it a try and see if um and just see if i could do it. So i am using a rat tail comb to help section off my hair and then from there i'm taking those sections and splitting them in half. So i can work with smaller sections. Now at first i tried to do the chase method using the rat tail comb, but i didn't like that so um. What i prefer to do was to comb out the section of hair and then go in with the flat iron. I did a couple of passes on my roots and then i ended up doing. I believe, like two. Maybe three passes towards my ends and, like i mentioned before, my flat iron is set to 450 degrees. I felt comfortable with using that temperature now because i use that temperature doesn't mean you can use that same temperature, so you may have to adjust your flat iron to um the proper temperature setting for your hair, also, while flat ironed, my hair, i learned that it's Better to have like a more slow and controlled type of movement when you're gliding the flat iron down your hair because um some parts i would like try to hurry up and like rush the flat iron through my hair, and when you do that, then you have To kind of do like several passes through your hair, so if you have more of a slow and controlled movement when gliding the flat iron through your hair, then you don't have to do as many passes to myself. You sit right next to you. Oh, i just oh, is uh. Oh up huh, oh foreign, is, i am until you'll reach, so so after i finished flat ironing my hair, i went ahead and used design essentials, hair gloss on my hair to help reduce frizz, and then i wrapped my hair. For some reason. My camera just cut off, while i was doing all of this, so i don't have that footage. I'M sorry, but i did add a clip at the end of how my hair looked the next day, so uh um.
