This hair tutorial will show you how to cut your own hair in layers. This is great if you want to get rid of split ends that are dry and splayed. I used the ponytail technique to create shorter layers at the front of my face and longer layers at the back. I saw this method of cutting hair on Pinterest quite some time ago and I've been using it since (before this I was using the hair slithering technique to create layers). The result is a layered haircut in a soft V shape at the back. You can either use thinning scissors to soften the bluntness of the ends or your can use the point cutting technique which I showed you in the video. To do the point cutting technique, slide your fingers horizontally down your hair to flatten the tip of your hair and cut into your ends using the points of the scissors. Good luck!

♥ What you'll need:

Flat Iron

Hair Brush

Hair Ties

Hair Cutting Scissors

Thinning / Texturizing Scissors

Hey guys new here today, I'm going to show you how you can easily and quickly cut and layer your own hair at home. Now, if you're looking to cut your hair in a particular style that is vistacal to a hairstylist, but this method is great. If you want to get rid of some split ends, remove some lengths and add fresh layers to your hair. So if you want to learn how to do this and keep on watching, first you'll need a hair straightener, because your hair needs to be pin straight. So you can see where the layers are. You'Ll also need a hair brush for hair ties and haircutting scissors. So I have these ones that are very sharp and if you want, you can also get some thinning scissors that look like this. They basically have teeth on one end and a sharp blade on the other and I'll link. All these things in the video description below before you start cutting. You want to gather your hair into a high ponytail and tie it at the top of your head. Now, from my experience, I noticed that, where you position, the ponytail is quite important, because if you position it right at the top of your head near the front of your face like what I'm doing here, you're going to get more layers in the front and less At the back, so you keep more of your length, but if you move your ponytail closer to the back of your head, you're going to get more layers at the back grab, a second hair tie and tie it right where your chin is. This is just going to keep the hair all in place so that it remains the street and with the third hair tie, you want to tie it where you're going to cut it off. So since I'm going to get rid of some length today, I'm going to tie it or inches from the tip. You want to save an extra inch forward, the feathering part. So if you want to get rid of five inches of hair, tie your hair at four inches like what I'm doing here next grab a pair of scissors and just cut the ponytail off. As you can see, all the split ends are basically gone at this point. Since I got rid of them - and now you just have a blunt cut next, remove the hair tie and divide your hair into three equal sections. Depending on how thick your hair is, you might need to divide it into four sections because we're basically going to work with one section at a time after you divide your ponytail tie each of them separately so that they don't get mixed up in the following step. You want to stopped in the bluntness of each section by point. Cutting to do this. All you have to do is use your fingers as a guide and slide them horizontally down. Your hair then cut into the ends of your hair, using the points of the scissors, and so what this will do is it will soften the bluntness, and it also creates an even shrimp when that's done. I like to thin the ends out a bit more by using my thinning scissors, and basically this will just denote the ends and feather them out even more move on to the next section of hair and repeat so point cuts and then thin out the ends. Now, if you don't have those thinning scissors, no worries, you can just use the point cutting technique. All you have to do is point the ends of your scissors, bolster up to your hair and that will get rid of some of the thickness. If you want all your layers to look soft and feathered at the end, we want to point cut into your hair even higher than what I'm doing, and I did this last time. If you look at my before picture, the ends were very feathered and it was drying out a bit so this time, I'm just going to point cut it a bit so that it looks thicker and fuller. Finally, when all three sections are done, you want to remove the hair tie and check out to see if it's, even if you see some strands that are longer just grab your scissors and continue to point cut. If you can recall, the initial cut was really blunt. So now it's much softer and even now I'm going to show you how far I usually cut my hair. So if you still want long hair, just cut it right in the middle of your sternum, but if you want medium length, hair, just cut it right below your clavicle, which is about right over here. I think this method of cutting hair is pretty foolproof. So if you want to this experiment by cutting your hair a bit more, you can always release it to see if it's long or short and then you can always tie it up again and now the moment you've all been waiting for word to see. If I actually messed up her knot, so this is what my hair looks like after I let it down, and one of the reasons why I like this method, is that you end up with even layers at the front of your face. So if you can see here, all my layers are even but the only thing is I find that they're still a little bit too thick, maybe because I didn't point cut enough. So I'm just going to grab my thinning shears again and I'm just going to thin out the ends to give it a more feathered bridge when you thin out the ends of your layers with your thinning scissors. You want to point the scissors at an angle because that's the way the layers are falling and, as you can see, my layers start pretty low and I do that for a reason, because if your layers start too high and you do braids and things like that, The hair will stick out of the braid, so if you braid, your hair often is best to start your layers lower. And yes, I'm aware that I need to tone my hair and touch up my roots, but I'm critical right now, so I don't want to smell the chemicals. Here'S the completed. Look from the front and the back. I just added some soft layers and got rid of some length, so I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and if you ever give this a try, don't forget to show me your pictures on Instagram And Facebook thanks so much for watching and I'll talk to you later ciao

طبخاتي My Cooking: Amazing, first time I cut ✂️ my own hair alone and it came so perfect. Thank you very much

Tardy Tortellini : For everyone skeptical about this method, let me tell you what happened. I was so freaking terrified. I almost cried when I made the first cut. I was so scared to let my hair down to look at it when I was done. But when I took the hair tie out, I flipped my hair back and looked in the mirror, OH MY GOD IT LOOKED PERFECT. I guarantee anyone can do this. This is coming from someone who is terrible at doing anything with their hair. If I can do it, you absolutely can. This works! Honestly the worst part is going to be cleaning up your bathroom afterwards.

Lovely Applewhyte: I have been using a similar technique to cut my hair for several years. While it worked really well, it cut my hair straight across. I’ve been missing my layers so I was super excited when I came across your video. I followed your instructions and my hair came out amazing! I have hair as long as yours and my layers are long and fall beautifully whether my hair is towards the front or back. I am SO excited! Thank you so very much for posting this simple but effective technique =)

Rachel Walters: After a failed attempt last night at trying to have my husband cut my hair, I tried following your tutorial. It was so unbelievably easy, and the result was as good as any cut I've received in a salon! Excited about all the money I will now save on cutting my own hair. Thank you so much! :-)

LadyTwice: Came across this video around 2am and immediately got out of bed and cut my hair lol it came out awesome thank you girl you saved me $70

Hiba Fatima Ahmed: This worked out so well for me, I'm amazed! Very easy, quick, simple, and effective. And the point cutting really helped lighten the ends of my hair and make the layers beautiful. Honestly, this turned out better than any hair salon I've gone to! You saved me money and time, and gave me something fun to do every once in a while ♥️ Thanks a lot for the tutorial

민정: I LOVE this tutorial. So simple. It was my first time cutting my own hair like, a lot, but it turned out beautifully. I didn’t straighten my hair but it turned out exactly like I wanted. I can see myself doing this regularly

Amberyne Ahmadzai: I literally did this at home during quarantine and it worked so well.

Liza Dixon: I have wanted to figure out how to cut my own hair for years. You literally cannot mess this up. Amazing, thank you!

Leah Marie: I’ve been cutting my own hair for years in just a straight blunt way because I had no clue how to do it more “styled” but I came across this and absolutely love the results!

adamantiumkook: I just did this now and it came out amazing! Been wanting to cut my hair for a while but DIY haircuts usually seemed either too complicated or came out looking too one-length. This was really simple and looks really good :) will definitely do this again

Grace H C: I watched this while putting baby to sleep. I did this as soon as they fell asleep and in less than 10 minutes my hair looks like I got it professionally cut. I can't believe how amazing it turned out. Thank you for sharing this! This is life changing!

Rayne Storm Marie: I couldn’t thank you enough for this video. Never in my life have I ever tried to cut my own hair but I tried to after seeing this one and this is the happiest I have EVER been with my hair. I’m truly amazed and just thank you so so much for sharing this

Melissa Duvall: So I just did this, and let me tell you, it looks SO FREAKING CUTE!!!! It's also completely even all the way around. Just know that if you do the pony tail close to your forehead like she does, the look is very layered around your face and does not take a lot off of the length. My bangs are easily 4 inches shorter than they were before and I believe only about an inch was taken off of the back. I've been wanting to learn how to cut my own hair for a while though because I think it is ridiculous to pay $20, which is what the salons around me usually charge. As a college student who is not working, I need to budget every penny. I'm so glad Bebexo made this video because my hair feels so refreshed and it was free! Thank you!!! <3

daniellespinosa: I tried this just now and it worked! I did it in two steps. I first did a ponytail at the front like she does in the video so that I could make sure my layers in the front were as short as I wanted them to be, and then I did a ponytail in the back at the crown to make sure that I was cutting off as much as I wanted to in the back to get rid of my split ends. I cut off much more in the first step than in the second. I followed her steps each time and it worked great! Truly a hack, easy and relatively quick. Very glad I found this method, I will definitely do this again! :)

Buen Salvmari Orbiso: Tried layering my hair two weeks ago from a different diy video and i still wasn’t satisfied. I was so tempted to call for a hair appointment but I thought to myself why not try it one more time. So I looked up other diy hair layer videos and saw this one. Tried it immediately and it was perfect! It was exactly what I wanted for my hair❤️. Definitely saved around $50

Stephanie O'brien: Me and my mum just used this tutorial in lockdown for a well needed hair cut. Great results!!

Emma H: Just tried this, my hair was just as long as hers. I've been struggling with tons of split ends and I HATE going to the hairdresser. This works fantastically!! I followed every step (including straightening my hair) and I ended up cutting off 5-6 inches and now I have soft, split end free hair ❤️ thank you!

ting ha: Oh my god. IT WORKS!!!!!!!!! I am the type of girl who would NEVER let anyone touch my hair besides my hairstylist in Taiwan. However, I haven’t been able to go back for a year and my hair has gotten ridiculously long (almost below my butt). With that said, I came across this video and I rewatched at least ten times (and at least 10 videos from other youtubers) and read through almost every comment before I finally got the courage to pick up the scissors (while still shaking) The outcome is all I could ever dream of yet not many hairstylists can ever achieve. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I am so happy that I feel like I am dreaming. Tips: dry cut! And if you have natural curly/wavy hair like me, don’t cut too much the first time and go with her exact instructions and length guideline. Thank you once again!!!!!

MAD MATTER: Just followed this tutorial with wonderful results! so easy my 5 year old even helped! thank you so much for this. budget is tight and this totally made a fresh cut at home well worth it

Nadine Sims: I have long hair & I tried this yesterday....girrrrlll thank you for saving me $80!!!! I followed this video exactly, but I didn’t feather anything. Just snipped a few inches off and done! My layers are even and my hair looks fresh. Thanks girl!

Sara Johnson: Came during quarantine but from now on I will cut my own hair because this was really easy to do and I love the way my hair turned out! I love it more than when I go to the salon!!! Thanks so much for this video!

Marco S.: Just took 3-4in off! Thank you for sharing this video, it was so easy to follow and I ended up with great results! I love the soft layers it creates in the front!

Marlena Myles: I just followed this tutorial, spent more time straightening my hair than cutting it. And honestly, it's top 5 haircuts of my whole life. Thanks for the tutorial, so easy to do!

Hameet Kaur: Just tried and have to say I am amazed with my perfectly layered hair. Never going back to salon for a layered hair cut. Love this <3

Catherine Zellmer: I have done this twice now since Covid started and I am in LOVE with my hair...like seriously better than any haircut I’ve gotten in a salon. May not work for everyone’s hair but I have completely different hair than OP and it turned out beautiful on me so happy she shared this! I have long thick wavy hair and cut it wet

Julia_Joy: I've been cutting my hair with this video for 4 years and it comes out great everytime and saves me so much money. Thanks girl !

Judy Calman: Like many, tried this because of coronavirus this morning. I never comment on stuff like this but it was so easy and it honestly worked perfectly. My hair is about 2/3's down my back, and I cut off about 5 inches this morning to get rid of all the dead ends. It looks awesome and I will definitely be doing this again even if coronavirus goes away. Thank you so much!!

Paige Allen: That was awesome! Honestly, came out far more evenly layered than when I pay a hairdresser!! So good. Thank you xo

othgyal12: OMG! i literally did this with my hair and I'm SHOCKED with the amazing results omg!!!!!! LIKE WOW its exactly the type of layers I LIKE also. I have to wash my hair still but I'm loving how it looks right now I'm soooo happy I came across this video thank you thank you!!!!

Ashley Card: Just followed this and I love the results. Thank you for sharing such a good tutorial!

Vayne: Holy shit, I have so much to say. 1) this is the easiest DIY method ever. You're a genius. 2) it really IS foolproof because I was so afraid I cut too much but it looks AMAZING and I'm so happy that it was so EASY. 3) I realize you put out this video 4 years ago so congrats on the toddler :) 4) I highly doubt anyone here is seriously thinking "Yeah thanks for the free haircut tutorial but GEEZ you need to touch up those roots!" Thank you again. I've been putting this off for so long.

didiibear: This is unbelievable. THANK YOU SO MUCH. If you're afraid to try this like i was.. don't be. Follow her steps exactly, make sure you know the length you want to cut and it'll turn out perfect. I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!

The Cheeky Copywriter: I used your technique and my hair came out amazing!!!! I just love it thank you for showing me how easy it can be to cut your own hair ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

AM Jordan: Best tutorial I've seen for this yet. Simple, easy to follow & looks awesome. Thank you!

Michelle Flores: Omg! I've watched this video about 3 times in the last few weeks trying to work up the nerve and I just did it and wow this works perfectly! I don't think I'll be letting anyone else cut my hair again. And I didn't have hair cutting scissors or thinning shears. I just purchased a set on Amazon for $11 and they work great. Highly recommend this technique!

Kate Boyle: I'm never going to get my hair cut again. This turned out so well! I was so nervous doing it but I love it!! Thank you!!

Xiaobai Li: I have thin hair with medium length (armpit length) and it still worked great!!! This is the third cut your own hair video I followed since pandemic, and it’s hands down the best one. Just wanted to say thank you!

Miscellanium: Thank you so much for making this video. I’ve been desperately wanting to cut my hair as it is long/decently thick and a bit much to deal with the summer heat, but I just don’t have the funds to go see my hair stylist right now. I followed your tutorial and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much!!

Living Quite Simply: Thank you so much! My ends were so dead, and now they’re gone! I love how it turned out. Your video is a lifesaver for women wanting to save some money and still have their hair looking nice.

Kate: Did this the other day and it turned out awesome!! I have hair only a few inches shorter than hers and it’s been needing trimmed for a while. This method was quick and easy and came out better than the last professional heist but I had. Super pleased I used my fabric scissor and a pair of dog grooming shears (I cleaned them first haha)

Lauren Carroll: I can't believe how easy this was and how well it works! I've never ever dared to cut my own hair but this is what I'm doing from now on. Thank you!!

aslynnrose: Just tried this. Worked like a charm. I went to beauty school but was always afraid to cut my own hair. This gave me a beautiful face frame and it was easy to control how much I took off! Thank you!!

Vyacheslav Braskov: Thank you, this worked way too well for a YouTube video! I can guarantee it even works for medium sized hair, you just need a little help with the point cuts in that case. It was easy, quick and nice! Love it, thank you!

Steph: Did it this morning and it worked great! Took off about five inches and my hair looks so much healthier. Thank you.

Roch Elle: amazing! i tried this on my hair and i absolutely love the results. after not having a haircut since March, my hair feels much healthier. and the layers are perfect. what a relief! thank you so much❣️

May S: I just cut my hair using this method and it looks amazing. My hair is really thick, but this tutorial seems to work for all hair types. Thanks for posting this video! Very helpful.

Dee Dee: Super easy and my hair came out perfectly! My hair was longer than hers and I cut it to the same length she had. Thanks!!!

Honey Latte: I did this myself and it came out really good!!! I’ll save lots of money cutting and dying my own hair now. Thank you!!

Kirsten-Marie Bensvik Varan: Thank you for sharing this. During this corona-time I almost lost my mind because my hair was so tangled because of the split ends. I usually just cut it twice a year because it’s long and pretty healthy. And I am crazy about my hair so would not think in a million years that I would have the nerves to cut it myself. I have always cut my girlfriends hair though and some of my exes too. So luckily I had the scissors I needed for this. Today was my third time using your video to cut my hair and I’m nailing it. It feels so fresh and looks so good. So thank you, thank you, thank you.

pepperfanhp: I tried this as this was the easiest method for a beginner! My hair came out great! I did have to separate my hair into five sections instead of the three as I have thick hair and I did this while wet as my hair is/was so long it won't stay straight if dried and wet was way easier for me to manage. Thank you so much!

Relena Reid: I stood up immediately while watching this, grabbed my scissors, comb and ties. Thank goodness for this!!! ♥️ I was actually planning to have my hair cut this week!

Jennifer LaCosta: Holy crap it actually worked! I colour my hair at home and was desperate for a trim before my next bleach job. Was skeptical at first but I went slowly, sharpened my scissors first, and sectioned my hair more as it's thick. All that's left is to shape the layers! Thank you so much!

Heather Hicks: Best tutorial I’ve came across so far. Followed your steps exactly and couldn’t be happier with the results

Gerardo Ramos: Just cut my wife’s hair 8 inches thanks to this vid! Kudos!! Thanks for the tutorial! She loves it and can’t stop thanking me

Ju-Ju McFluff: Thanks, it turned out great :) My hair is super long and thick so the hardest part was brushing it out well enough for a sturdy ponytail in the front (took at least 30m, seriously. My neck hurt lol). But after that, everything went pretty smoothly :) And I cut a LOT. 16 inches. 10/10 method

jade bogue: My hair was already in need of a trim before corona-related lockdown, but 3 weeks in and it was a straggly mess! I don't possess hair straighteners as my hair in naturally wavy, and I really don't like the way it looks when it's dead straight. So I washed my hair and waited until it was damp but not wet- just wet enough that it would be dead straight when I combed the sections through. It worked!! Definitely not as good a job as a professional haircut as some commenters have said, but my hair looks so much healthier than it did and will see me through until we're allowed to be in close contact with people again! Thanks for the upload.

Swanee Falk: I just tried this and was absolutely shook!! I cut five inches off the ponytail and was bracing myself for short hair, but when I took out the ponytail my jaw dropped at how well this method maintains length!! My hair looks basically the same as before but it feels so much healthier!

The Meow: Thank you! I did it twice after this video, First time i messed up big time i had to go to the saloon to properly clear my mess. This time I learned from my mistake and modified your way. My hair is super long and this was very helpful. My hair didn't turned out as I expected but hella much better with many layers I'm so happy! :D

Bebexo: Hey guys, my hair and nails have been growing so quickly lately (thanks to being preggo heh) so I thought I'd take the opportunity to show you how I cut and layer my own hair at home. Thumbs up if you found this helpful and don't forget to share this video. ^_^ Happy hairstyling! xoxo

Emily Oum: I have viewed this video so many times and the last two I’ve watched since quarantine. I’ve cut my own hair twice now, still looking good. Thanks for the video. I can always count on you. ❤️

Danessa Nicole Mom Warrior: Love this video! she makes me feel confident I can do this too! Buying my scissors on Amazon right now! Thanks babe

Audrey Davidson: Omg. I was so nervous to do this! It turned out awesome!!! My hair was flat across. Just wanted a bit of texture. Bought both the scissors you recommended, makes a huge difference! Thank you!

Aisha: I discovered this videos years ago and been cutting my hair like this for years now, thank you so much! Great technique to get rid rid of split ends

Kirsten Svenson: This is a great video! I usually end up waiting 36 months between haircuts because it feels like a money drain... now I can do it on my own! When I tried it, the layers definitely ended up being more dramatic than I anticipated, so I might move my ponytail back a bit on my head next time. Thanks for the clear directions and great idea!

Chloé Brown: This is literally the greatest hack I have ever come across in my entire life!

LuiseGee: Hey, so I just cut my long hair using this method and it worked really well! - thanks for the video! X

elzyh: This is so amazing I have never cut hair (I’m 12). I didn’t tell my strict mom. And when I came into the living room she said ; ,,You’re hair looks better somehow!” Like WOW

Herberts: My mum has been cutting my hair like this since I was a toddler, I'm 21 now and do it for myself and still love it

Sara Monroe: Omg! I just cut my hair according to this tutorial and it worked PERFECTLY!! I was a little scared when I saw how much I cut off (almost 5 inches) and panicked when I took the bottom hair tie out...but when I took it all down after feathering it looks SO GOOD! I've never cut my own hair before and it's long so I end up spending 50 bucks at the salon. This was FREEEEEEEE

Katt 009: Omg I just tried this and wow it actually works , I am really impressed , it was so easy , I didn't straighten my hair I just put it and did the instructions step by step and it still turned out really good , thanks for the great video

Sara: Ugh bless you!!!! My hair was almost to the top of my behind and it was so dry and brittle at the ends. This tutorial saved me!!! Thank you so much, sweets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Linn Keo: I tried this. I've never done anything like this before. It came out great! I love it.

Carla W: THANK YOU i just did this and just gave myself the best haircut of my life! Im 42, have naturally thick wavy/curly hair but i also can wear it straight. Ive been to multiple high end salons and NO ONE has been able to cut my hair with the layers/cut i want. I did this and FINALLY got the cut i want. And u were right it only took 10 minutes plus i saved myself $160 by doing it myself

Katrina Blackwolf: Oh yay! I used this video a couple years ago and now here I am again using this video to trim my long hair again Love this method! It is full proof, totally recommend for long hair

angie chavez: Such a great video! Tried this at home out of frustration of the length and dead ends. Walked through step by step like the video and my hair came out amazing! Try it!!!

Christa M: Thank you so much for this tutorial. Its Corona Quarantine 2020 and I cut my own hair for the first time since I was 5yrs old. With no access to a salon, suddenly my hair was feeling really heavy haha. I also cut my toddlers hair. I can't cut his and not be brave enough to cut mine. I am proud to say it turned out great, it doesn't look blunt or choppy at all!! I cut off 12 inches...my hair was really long.

Kate Hansen: Girl I WISH my hair was as healthy and long as yours! Thanks for the tip, I'm going to try now!

Kelly DiMaria: This method is so great. I've been so scared to cut my hair but I finally decided to do this today and it really works! My split ends are now gone and my hair still looks super long and now healthy. So happy I found this so I dont have to spend 40 dollars to get my hair trimmed at a salon.

Remotely Retired: I just used this technique yesterday and it worked great! Took off 4". Hadn't cut my hair all year due to Covid and didn't feel safe going into a salon. My hair length was down to just the top of my boobs, so not nearly as long as Nee's beautiful hair, so I had to adapt a little, but the basics are still the same. I also chose to bring my ponytail further back to adjust the layering. Love the results! Thank you!

Nancy Vu: OMG! Thank you so much for saving $90 from going to a hair salon. I just tried it and was so worried about ruining my hair again like back in 2006, but trusting you and your video was the best thing I did today.

s s: You saved me lol I followed some other tutorial and it looked so choppy. I have very long hair so I got worried I messed up and would have to cut alot more off than I wanted. Your tutorial made my hair look so soft and flowy. Thank-you!

Georgia: My hair is mid back length and needed a trip, I tied it around my forehead, then the second tie at my third chin, it worked well! Thanks!

Melissa Evers: This was successful for me! My hair was about the same length as hers and I found the front layers a little harsh, but I have no idea how to blend and I just did my best. I bet no one will even think the front is bad. I’m just a perfectionist ‍♀️

HE Lamb: I did this months ago, and was very pleased. I'm going to do it again today. Thank you for a very useful video!

Ana Valencia: I’ve used this method on myself and just did it on my daughter , hair came out quite good both times . Thanks !

Maxine B.: Haven't had a haircut in 1.5 yrs. I usually get one before Mother's day. Was really tired of my long hair so I Googled and found this video. Right after watching, I followed the steps and was done in less than 10 minutes. And wow, it looked better than some of the salon cuts I have had before where the hairdresser didn't really get how I wanted my hairstyle to look! Unbelievably easy, thank you!!!

amy rockey: I actually just used this technique with the same type of scissors and it worked GREAT!!❤️

M N: It just worked amazing for me!! Now my hair is nice and smooth without damaged/split ends. Thank you so so much!!

Waddabub: For the girls with thick hair out there, be careful! My hair is super thick and I had some trouble doing this. I couldn't see past my hair and I had to make 6 hair sections that flattened out and covered my face, which is what I think made it uneven on both sides at the end. Either that or I wasn't able to equally tighten the hair into the ponytail.I had to do some fixing to make both halves match, and the result was a little choppy so I had to go back and feather it more. It does look decent! The transfer from longer to shorter hair is kind of abrupt and not as smooth as I would've hoped for, not sure what I did wrong there? Other than that, no complaints. I'm excited to see to see the layers look wavy after I shampoo my hair again!

Bridget Messick: Came across this about 2 years or so ago. My daughter needed a hair cut something terrible (she was 6 or 7 at the time) hair down past her butt, screamed she wanted to keep her length. I tried this video out and it cane out AMAZING!!!! Kept her length, gave layers and shape. Been doing it ever since, no money wasted at the cuttery. Just did my own hair today finally and it looks great. Thanks for the video!!!

Marlisse Torres: I love this method, my hair looks just as I wanted! and now it feels super soft without those horrible split and dry ends, thanks!

Leyla A: I used this exact method on my long hair and it did a great job! The layers are not too much at all so you can't go wrong. The layers fell correctly in the front as well! Just make sure that you pull your hair closer to forward from the start. If you put the pony tail on the top of your head, you will get waayy more layers in the front. Just listen to the video and follow the instructions. The people that messed up seriously didn't listen to the instructions!

BleuMustang: I’ve been cutting my own hair since 2014. Once I discovered this method. I also flip my head upside down and use my large hair clamp cut my ends always turns out perfect! I just did My bangs using the twist method! Perfect too!

Passive Income Rising: I just tried this on my thick, waist length hair and I am very pleased with the outcome. I purchased a salon scissors/thinning scissors set prior. The scissors broke while I was attempting to cut through my ponytail.. it was a real struggle to cut through it as the scissors were either really dull or my hair extremely thick. Nonetheless, I managed to follow all the steps and made sure to focus especially on point cutting. I also made sure to straighten my hair prior. I Love Love the result! IF you have very thick hair, maybe have someone help you cut through your ponytail as your arms &hands may get sore while cutting.

Natalie A.: I just tried this and it worked so well!!! I’m kind of shocked. My hair was slightly uneven from my last professional haircut and this fixed everything, thank you for sharing and for helping me save money!

jaclynsr77: I'm never going to another salon again! I have been on a tight budget for several years, and doing my own color (not from a box! My bff is a colorist and taught me how). I tried this cut tonight just to get rid of dead ends, and my hair looks amazing! Thanks for this video!!!

Sarah D: Best do it yourself video I have ever seen - worked like a charm! Thank you for sharing and saving me tons of money!

jclyncox: No way in heck I'm visiting a stylist right now, 2 of my girlfriends did and then both got calls from contract tracers that they were exposed to covid because of the stylist. I live in the same small town. So, I used your method last night with fabulous results! It's the kind of layers that I've always asked stylists to do but none have really garnered the layered and tapered result I was looking for until last night. #1, I picked up some Goody hair scissors at the local grocer for like $6. #2, I did mine with semi-wet hair as mine is really fine and hard to manage when dry. I finished it off today with dry hair with just a little more tip cutting and to find any irregularities. Excellent tutorial, very professional, thank you! Hope life is good with your now 4yr old toddler!

Camille Howlett: I just followed this and it worked really well! I had to do more fixing up at the end to make my layers flow better but 100% will do this again. Thank you!
