#HowToGrowLongHair #HowToGrowYourHairLong

Hello, everyone, I hope, you're all doing wonderful. Now, with everything that has been going on in the world, I felt a little bit weird putting out a hair tutorial, so that now was the perfect time to sit down and finally share my top 10 tips and secrets to grow long, healthy hair. So, let's jump into it first tip is stop washing your hair, no I'm just kidding, but you want to try to leave more time in between washing your hair. You want your hairs natural oils to nourish strengthen your hair, and this will help it grow. I feel like right now is the perfect time to switch up your hair routine, especially if you're working from home. Now I typically wash my hair every two to three days last week. I definitely pushed it a lot longer, but just remember dry shampoo is your friend. Second, tip is find the right shampoo. Now I've used everything from drugstore to salon professional and the one thing that you want to look for is a sulfate free, shampoo sulfates can be very drying on your hair and on your scalp. When I first made the switch. I noticed the biggest transformation in my scalp and that's where healthy hair starts. So it's really important that your scalp is healthy. Now higher-end products they can have higher quality ingredients, but when I first started growing out my hair, I was a college student. I didn't have a ton of money and drugstore sulfate free shampoos worked wonderful, for me, third tip is gently wash your hair. This is where a lot of damage can happen now. This might sound obvious, but I hear my friends talking about their routine sometimes, and I just can't believe them. So when it comes to shampoo less is more. You really want to try to avoid buildup because we're trying to go as long as we can in between washing our hair. Ok before I move on to this next bit, leave a comment I really want to know before I go ahead. How much shampoo you currently use be honest, now believe it or not. You only need about like two dime sized amount, no matter how much hair you have because you're only supposed to be washing your scalp. Now when you're washing, you want to be very gentle. I know it feels so nice to scrub your head, but you just want to do like little circles with your fingertips and kind of like a gentle and soft back and forth motion. And the reason for this is, if you were a too rough you're just going to create frizz knots and breakage and no need to wash your strands, they will just clean as you rinse your hair and if you shampoo them you're just going to dry them out. Oh and I also use a scalp massager if you're not using one, I highly suggest you pick one up, they feel so good. It'S probably my favorite part of washing my hair. They just help to dispense product, especially for something that needs to be applied directly to your scalp and they also removed buildup, and they help to stimulate your scalp, which will help your hair grow and overall again, it just feels amazing fourth tip is a use conditioner. I hope you're using conditioner, but you want to try to find one that fits your hairs specific needs. They really do make a difference and I typically look for ones that are either a volumizing or made for dry hair. Now, when applying it, I typically like to leave it in for a minimum of three minutes. So the first thing I do when I get in the shower is, I start washing my hair just to speed up the process now, a good rule of thumb is try and apply your conditioner from your ears down. You want to avoid your scalp, because this is just going to make it really oily and then you'll have to wash your hair and you'll dry out your scalp and then it's going to get oily. So, just let your scalp naturally condition your hair for you now when it comes to water temperature. I'Ll be honest, I take the hottest possible shower that I can, but you want to try to rinse your hair with lukewarm water. Don'T worry, you don't have to be taking ice showers to have long healthy hair, but you do you. Fifth tip is ditch the towel. In 2020, we are moving to cotton t-shirts. They definitely make a difference. And yes, it's very weird. At first towels are abrasive. They'Re rough and textured they cause frizz and breakage, especially if you do that, like cute twists on top of head, it can just pull on these small, delicate baby hairs around your face. Now I'm sure you know, but your hair is the most fragile when it's warm and wet so just use a cotton t-shirt to like gently scrunch, your hair, when you're out of the water out of the water out of the shower just to remove excess water. And if you still want to use a towel, I get it. The whole t-shirt thing sounds strange. Just promise me you're, not gon na. Take your towel and go like this at the top of your head or go like this on your ends, because all you're doing is causing breakage sixth tip is nurture your hair, be kind to your hair, give it the love that it needs it deserves, but hair Care is essential after you wash your hair like you've, just rinsed out the shampoo you've rinsed out the conditioner. So it's important to give your hair a little bit more love. Now we all have different hair and I always think of it as like, a skin type. We all have different skin types, so for me my hair is a little bit flat, so I always look for of volumizing product and my hair is quite dry, especially in the winter time. So I always look for a really hydrating leave-in conditioner and I use a free serum around my face on these small delicate hairs, and then I always lock everything in with a hair oil. Oh and I do use a lot of hair tools, so I always make sure to use a heat protectant. If you're using hot tools, then don't forget your heat protectant, it does make a difference. Seven'S tip is minimize breakage, so do not, or at least try not to brush your hair when it's wet, and I believe that this is another tip that made the biggest difference in my hair. Now I mentioned earlier that your hair is the most fragile when it's warm and when it's wet, so if you are brushing it or combing it you're, risking and potentially breaking your hair, which will slow down your hair growth. So I try to avoid brushing my hair as much as I can like almost as much as I avoid washing my hair, because I find that brushing my hair just causes so much breakage like I can see the hair on my floor. It doesn't lie so what I like to do is if I have a really big knot, especially in the wintertime. I tend to get a lot of knots like here on my neck. What I'll do is I just go in with my fingers? It'S a little tedious takes a bit of time, but it makes a huge difference and I'll just go in and gently pull apart. My knots before I would have a knot in my hair and I would just go at it with like a comb or a brush until I basically ripped out of my hair. If you do that, like once or twice a week and you're just going to have like really choppy hair, that needs a trim and it's just never going to grow. But if you are going to brush your hair when it's wet, I get it feels so nice to get all of your knots out. Just try to use a wide tooth comb or a brush with flexible bristles. Another tip to minimize breakage is try to use a scrunchie instead of a hair elastic. When you can. Okay see these like little layers at the top of my head, I don't get layers cut into my hair, but here they are. Where did they come from? They came from wearing a hair elastic to the gym. A lot of my hair just broke off on the top. I have some friends that this happened to too so now, when I work out, I use a scrunchie. It'S a lot softer on your hair and it feels a lot better as well. Next, when it comes to sleeping, I have a few tips to help minimize breakage. Now you don't want to leave your hair down when you sleep, because it's just going to get knotted and frizzy and then you'll have to brush up those knots and that can cause breakage stuff. But I like to do is twist my hair into a donut bun on the top of my head and just clip it into place with a claw clip. This keeps it up, keeps it not free, and it also helps to hold my curls, which is awesome. Oh, and if you haven't already made this switch, consider switching to a silk pillowcase or a silk feeling pillowcase. This will help prevent frizz breakage, not you know the deal they're really great next tip is avoid hot tools I feel like now is the perfect time to just embrace your natural hair and really learn how to work with it now, one summer I did commit to Not using any Hot Tools, I just rocked heatless waves. I let my hair air dry now, I think of it. That was also this summer that I lived in an upstairs apartment with a window conditioners. It was just too hot to blow during my hair, but this is when I noticed the biggest transformation in my hair. Now, if you are still using hot tools, I'm guilty, I still do, but I have some tips to help you minimize, breakage, okay, so I still blow dry, my hair, probably 90 % of the time it just moves. My hair, really smooth and shiny, but a quick tip, would be allow your hair to air dry to about eighty or ninety percent. Before you go in with your blow-dryer, another tip would be to only blow-dry at the front of your hair. So all of this hair - that's framing your face and then allow it the rest of your hair to air dry. That way, the front will look a little more sleek and put together, and then the rest of your hair will have like a really nice natural volume. To it, another tip is a curling. Iron is typically less damaging than a hair straightener. I noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my hair when I stopped straightening it. I look back on old pictures where I thought my hair looked so bomb and it looks so bad. The ends are so broken and it looks so dry. So if you are going to style your hair, I would recommend using a hair curler. Instead, next tip is hair. Maintenance is key. I don't know why. Some people don't think that I get my hair cut. I promise I do actually just got so much cut off. It was down to my waist, but it was getting stuck in everything and I just needed a change. So trims are so important to help your hair grow and to help it look healthy. Now they won't make your hair grow faster, but trimming off your split ends. Will help prevent them from splitting up your hair and then eventually breaking off so I've been there. I'Ve went to the hairdresser's to get a trim, and then they just decide to cut a whole bunch off, so definitely communicate with your hairdresser that you only want a trim. If you take too much off, your hair is never going to grow and it's definitely easier to do a little bit and then ask them for a little bit more because if they cut off too much, you can't glue it back on. So when it comes to coloring your hair, it's obviously very damaging, but what you want to try to do is go as long as you can in between salon visits, even if that means wearing a hat for a week or two. But when I made the switch from getting my whole head bleached to getting highlights, my hair has just been so much healthier and just hair grows out a lot more natural. Actually love like this Rudy look, but I'm now able to go longer in between salon visits. I used to go every six weeks, and now I probably go every like five to six months. This also saved me so much money. My tenth tip is to nourish your hair from the inside and out. So I quickly want to touch on diet. Water is so essential, it's so good for you drink tons of water. Now, if you're someone who's bad at stay on top of their water intake, I've seen a lot of people with those water bottles with the different hours of the day to help you track. How much water you're drinking and stay on top of it, so it was a really fun and can be really helpful. Now I am mostly plant-based. I do still eat fish, but ever since I made the switch to be more plant-based, I am a lot more mindful about the nutrients that my body is getting. I'M making sure that I'm getting all of my vitamins enough protein and I use my fitness pal app to help track my food just to make sure that I am getting all of my nutrients every single day. But I really quickly wanted to mention that, because I always get questions about hair vitamins. I personally don't know a ton about them. I don't take any of them, but I would suggest to take a look at your overall diet, make sure you're getting all of your nutrients before you consider supplements and always speak to a professional before you do. Okay, now to nourish your hair from the outside. Never underestimate a good hair mask. They can make such a difference in your hair. I feel like now is the time, especially if you're working from home just put a hair mask in you could slick your hair into like a low bun. It would look super chic. Nobody would know that you were rocking a hair mask now. I try my best to hair mask at least once or twice a week, usually the night before I'm going to be washing my hair, but I often forget so I find it super helpful to pull out your hair mask and pull out your face, masks and just Put them somewhere that you're going to see them so that you do not forget, and another thing is don't look at hair masks as a chore. Look at it as a way to pamper yourself get your partner to do it with you. It'S a lot of fun. It should be relaxing and you deserve to pamper yourself, but I'll link. Some of my favorite hair masks down below, along with all of my favorite products, from like hair oils, leave-in conditioners, to hair brushes. You already know it'll all be linked in the description below, but I really hope you found this video helpful. I would love if you left your hair tips down below, especially if you have a different hair type. I know a lot of you have curly hair, there's oily hair short hair leave a comment down below I'm sure it'd be super helpful and I'd love to learn some new tips. I hope you were all doing well during this difficult time. I know it can be tough. Just remember we are all in this together, I'm going to leave a comment down below kind of expressing how I feel about content going forward. So I would love if you could check that out and just let me know how you feel, but thank you as always so much for watching and I'll talk to you in the next video that

Alex Gaboury: With everything going on, I’d love to hear what type of YouTube content you’d like to see moving forward. I had a lot of fun videos planned for spring, and would love to know if you’re still interested in seeing regular content? Thinking of you all.

Jessie Knox: TIPS: 1. Don't wash your hair too often. 2. Sulphate free shampoo. 3. Gently was your hair, don't use too much shampoo, use a scalp massager. 4. Use conditioner that meets your hair's needs and don't condition your scalp. 5. Use a cotton t-shirt or microfiber towel instead of a normal towel. 6. Use products that work for your hair after washing. 7. Minimize breakage, finger detangle, scrunchies instead of hair ties, sleep with your hair tied up. 8. Avoid hot tools. 9. Go as long as you can between salon visits. 10. Drink plenty of water and eat well.

Rasha Hds: Tip 1: DO NOT cut your hair whenever you're bored.

Denise Burnside: Hi Alex, I hope you are doing well. I have purchased a few items recently that you mentioned in your videos, also doing your suggestion of wearing a bun at night. My hair is long, curly, coarse and dry. I wash my hair every 3-4 days, and allow to air dry. This video is so informative, and at my age (57), this old dog is learning new tricks. Thank you evermore for sharing with us. Be blessed. Be safe. Take care! - Denise ❤️

What Hmm22: Beautiful hair girl! One tip that saved me when I grew my hair really long: a hair pick. Start at the bottom and work toward the scalp. Makes coloring and shampooing a breeze; reduces breakage too.

Beauty from Within: Apparently the term is “dusting” when you want just a little dusted off the ends. Trim means a lot more. That’s what my hairdresser said... who knew ‍♀️

Samantha K: I love all of your content that you post! Daily routine, what you eat in a day, skin care routine, exercises, and of course hair and make up! I bet any of the fun videos that you had planned would still be interesting. It's so nice to have an escape! ✨

Sarah C: Great tips! One thing I do to help keep my hair healthy is by putting my hair in a protective hairstyle. I basically wear a bun everyday, but sometimes I will braid it too.

Maria Donna Thomas: Can we see your "natural hair?" Like, air dried, not straightened or curled? Also, you might want to try vlogging so your fans can get to know you better. :)

Louisa Halim: can you please make a tutorial on how to do a soft wave like the one in this video?thanks

Michelle Bianca: after training my hair to go longer without washing, my scalp has never felt better, it doesn't feel dry anymore and i don't get a lot of buildup so that was a great a great tip!

Megan Spangler: I started following majority of the tips you showed in your video when the quarantine began here in Philly. It’s been about 3 months and my hair has grown fast (started at just below my chin, now it’s about 2 inches below my shoulders), I have less breakage especially around my face and my hair just appears more full. I wanted to mention I also used that Christophe Robin sea salt scrub you used in a different video and I’m definitely adding that in to my hair routine. Thanks for all of the great tips!

kromatic: Hey Alex, what are you favorite sulfate free shampoos? Hope you're staying safe and healthy. ❤

Katerina Dobreva: Hi Alex! Your hair looks amazing! Could you recommend us your favourite straightening methods? I would love to watch more videos

Brittney Herrington: I have long hair very similar to yours Alex! I'm going no-poo for the month of April because there probably isn't going to be a better time! I'm on day 7 currently and my hair already feels a lot smoother and healthier ☺️

Ana Reis: Hi! Perfect timing, i want to let my hair grow long because summer’s coming and i wanna rock those summer hairstyles, but my hair is always super dry and frizzy, it’s so annoying! I almost never blow dry my hair and i don’t brush it because it just looks awful, but i’m definitely going to try the leave on conditioner and the mask. Do you think it’s ok to brush my hair with an hair comb during the bath? It’s the only time i brush it, because with the conditioner it’s easier. Lots of love from Portugal and i hope you’re well during this time

Jiroshika Rajitharan: You guys don’t have to use shampoo. There is a thing called Ciaka (pronounced see- aaa-ka) and if you mix it with water and apply to your hair you will see results. Your hair will be more moisturized and healthy after a few months to a year. Also, put oil on your hair 2-3 times a week, and do the inversion hair method. Those are my 3 main tips. Hope this helped!

Kim Lesley: I never could figure out why the ends of my hair would go frizzy after a shower. Thank you sooo much! I let my hair dry naturally without using a towel & WOW! No brushing until after it dried. My hair looks so much healthier now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Elizabeth Rose Cobb: I love the invisibobble hair ties, they don’t dent your hair, and they help prevent breakage. I have long thick hair and these are the only hair ties that when I remove them after wearing my hair up all day doesn’t remove any hair!

HD 24: My hair is fine, thick and oily. I actually started dying my hair in middle school so it wouldn't be so oily. Unfortunately I have to wash my hair every day, otherwise it gets bad. But on another note thanks for this video, very helpful :)

Sandra Sedivy: I enjoy your hair tutorials the best. Especially now because it’s something I can do at home, with time to practice the styles since I can’t get them right the first time. I also like the hair accessories (like those cool hair forks), even just a little something to jazz up our hair and add a splash of fun. Besides, it’s affordable AND cute. I’m so glad I found your channel.

Florence Tse: I love your aesthetic. The background is so calming and well decorated. Can you please do a home tour?

Justine Abd: Perfect timing !! I want to grow my hair very long ! Thanks and take care, love from France❤️

Yasmin M: I think I use too much shampoo I just love a rich lather! But I don’t wash my hair too often. I use a mask once a week, tie it back at night, and I’m not blow drying it now that we’re finally in lockdown. At 51, I’m lucky to still have long thick hair and get a root tint/balayage every few months. Eat lots of veg, drink plenty of water and give yourself scalp massages. Keep safe and well ladies! Hot tip: brush knotty hair from the bottom up in small sections, NEVER from the top down. This has been one of the biggest revelations to me concerning hair care. Give it a go, I promise you’ll be amazed what a huge difference that makes.

Megan Arnold: When drying your hair, dry with COLD or moderate heat. Although it may take a little longer than hot air, it is SO much better because: 1. Saves you from heat damage. Less heat on your hair, the better! 2. Less greasy hair! When your scalp gets hot, it produces moisture making your clean hair already producing grease.

TheRikke: When I wash my hair (about once a week) I always shampoo it twice. First to get rid of oils and products build-up, and second to wash my actual hair. For each wash I use about a teaspoon of products, and my hair is long

hiba x: The not washing your hair every day is actually a genuine tip. A few years ago I used to wash them every day now I wash twice a week, it makes a BIG difference

Tova Larsen: As someone with healthy, fine blond hair down to my hips, my best tip is DON'T DYE OR BLEACH YOUR HAIR. It weakens the strands and damages the cuticle. I also swear by spiral elastics for ponytails and SpinPins (corkscrew hair pins) for holding my updos. They hold all day and you just twist them out to remove.

herediafamily: My scalp was so unhappy when I trained it to go about 4 days between washes. My hair looked fine, but my scalp felt awful. I did this for about two years. Recently I started reverse washing every other day and both my scalp and my hair are very happy! My ends are healthier, my length is shinier and my scalp feels good. I have very wavy/curly but very thin hair.

Sherry Faith: Wow, these tips were life changing, I didn't know you needed so little shampoo!! AHH thank you!!

The Real PinkStarr: My hair is pretty long & does tend to grow super fast the less I wash. I've always used minimal shampoo on my scalp & tons of my condition from the ears down so I know your tips are tried & true. I typically keep my hair a darkish cranberry color. I try to dye it only a couple times a yr- so in-between I will use a temporary wash-out color that matches my dye so it helps to keep my color vibrant without the harsh chemicals. Fortunately, it is a darker shade so it works. When I would go light (blondish-brown) this method would not work. Btw- I love your styles! Makes me spend less time on my hair! Thank u

Eliana Karten: Wow these tips are solid. I started doing your hair care recomemdations from your last video and it's been getting better. You are not lying girl.

Vanessa Bouyea: Hi Alex, do you have a tutorial on how you style your bangs? Or what you ask for when you have them trimmed? Thank you!

K K: My hairdresser gave me advice in how to use a hair mask properly. First shampoo your hair, that "opens" the hair. Then use the mask, leave it in for however long the instructions say, so your hair can absorb as much as possible. Then use a conditioner afterwards to "seal" the mask in your hair. That helped my hair a lot, it's so much better now.

aianaiya: also i love this video so much, thank you! its so helpful.

Ireland Brianna: Loved this video!!! Super helpful. Would love a DIY hair mask video!

cait crossing: Theese are some of my personal tips!for thick hair: - before bed wash your hair with warm water and condition it before bed - always put your hair in a loose braid before bed - get layers in your hair to make it easier to style -

Kristina Bertrand: Loved your video Alex I love to see more videos like hairstyles and hair products too thank you I'm staying safe and healthy too!!!❤️

Louise: Your hair videos are wonderful I love them so much Thankyou xx

zosia kozłowska: moisturizing shampoo actually cured my oily hair! It means it was too dry my scalp especially. So i recomend to try moisturizing your hair a lot i think it helps with everything what’s going on on our heads :)

Kelsey Barrett: Do you do any DIY hair conditioners/masks/leave ins? I'd love to see a video on this! <3

A.Marie: The Aveda damage remedy hair mask is the best mask I’ve ever tried and I tried a lot of professional hair masks; pricey, but lasts forever

Wendy Ramlogan: Great tips! Can you share where you go to get your hair coloured? There are so many salons but it's quite difficult to find a great one!

Cherylann: Great tips! This is the first time I've seen your video. You have beautiful hair!!!! I have long blonde fine hair (yeah, I wish I had thicker hair!). I have been very gentle with my hair & scalp for years. I checked my shampoo & was shocked to see sulfates in the ingredients!!! I've been using Pantene Pro-V Volume...Yikes Sulfates!!!!I'm going to use the products you use for now on Thank you for your video!

kawaii heather: Could you do a wash day routine??? Would love to see all these steps in a specific video!!!

Bianca: Your hair is gorgeous! Please make a haircare routine video for us

Katie Bell: How do you maintain color between highlights ? Do you use toners etc? Thank you

SummerSet: Since I watched a video saying "use scrunchies instead of hair ties, I always did that. I see like more than half of my hair pulled off in the scrunchie, thanks so much

Joyful Heart: Can you do a quick tutorial on how your put your hair up at night? I have been growing my hair out for two years and it is about 4 inches passed my shoulders now. I have only been comfortable with it down at night but it does cause breakage. and braid always just gets tangled and I cant get it to stay in a bun that is out of my way when I sleep. how do you do it so its comfortable when you are sleeping? also how do you style your fringe? I always end up clipping mine to the side in a little twist with those snappy barrette clips because I cant get them to stay off to the side lol

Kristi Gibson-Cormier: Alex How are you honey? I hope you and yours are all well..I'm in California so I'm on lock down.. Ordering everything online these days.. Fantastic video honey..I wash my hair e very 5 to 7 days my hair is dry and curly I've been doing this for years..also sleeping with my hair in a bun. I love the list its great.. Let me know if you need anything..take care be safe ..

Elizabeth Rincon: I use somewhere between a dime and a nickel size amount of shampoo, and only on my scalp -- I figure I don't need much more than that, since I'm not putting it all over my hair! So I'm glad to know I've been doing that right! I flip between a natural, sulfate-free shampoo and a dandruff shampoo to get the healthiest scalp possible. And with my conditioner, I leave it in as long as possible and use a leave-in product, since I have curly hair that needs SO MUCH MOISTURE. And since my hair is curly, I only ever comb it (with a wide-tooth comb) right before a shower, or if I need to do it after a shower, I use a ton of leave-in conditioner to smooth things out as much as possible. I actually wrap my hair in a silk scarf when I sleep (as well as sleep on a silk pillow case) to try and keep the frizz down, and it definitely helps! With trims, though, the problem with curly hair is a lot of people don't understand how to cut it, so I have to be really, really picky about where I go to get my hair cut, otherwise I end up with a horribly uneven, awful cut.

Marina David: MERCI! definitely needed this video! thank you for also linking some products <3333

Eleonora Rini: I follow almost all of your advice, my hair is similar to yours, so I was wondering if you could help me. I generally wash my hair once a week, but I tend to notice little white spots at the end of almost each hair. They won't go away by brushing them, not combing with my fingers. What can I do? Thank you so much!

Lindsey Hill: Could you do a tutorial on how you put your hair up at night to maintain your curl correctly?

lynda harrison: Great ideas, I will be trying these ❤️

Luciana Bombonato: I use very little shampoo... I only wash my scalp :) I love your videos!! Your hair is amazing! Do you have hair extensions? You seem to have so much hair!!! Kisses from Brazil

Ti Ma: What about a dyed hair that needs regular toning and roots touch ups? It gets dry and damaged over time.

Laura Knaus: Heat protectants actually don't help. Milabu did a video experimenting with real hair extensions and it showed that it burns faster with heat protectant. She also did a video that showed that soaking wet hair with water burns slower than with hair with heat protectant.

Carolyn Johnson: Do you have any tips or could you post any videos for hair styles that look good on video calls? Thank you for your videos!

Kayla Reuter: I'M SO IN LOVE WITH YOUR HAIR!!!

Hailey Green: Yay!! I actually just cut mine off to my shoulders wahh and it was mid back!! I’m totally going to start ding these!!

Sabrina Beaudoin Morin: Personally starting to put a little bit of conditioner on my scalp help me so much to extend shampoos. I feel like by moisturizing it, my scalp doesn’t need to produce as much oil!

cindi trautmann: I am 57 and have had oily hair my whole life. Plus it’s baby fine. I can’t stand the feel and the smell of unwashed hair. Therefore I still wash every day. I use about a nickel size amount of shampoo from the natural food store. I like desert essence shampoos, and beauty without cruelty shampoos. My hair is virgin hair, about 50% gray, so I don’t condition every day. I do it about every other day. My hair is shoulder length. It is healthy and shiny and I get a ton of compliments all the time! I generally don’t blow dry unless it’s winter and I have to go out of the house right away. If I do need to dry it, I concentrate on drying the roots, not so much the ends. Also most of the time I do not comb or brush after washing. I just arrange it, finger comb, and let it dry. Never any hot tools.

Katie Bell: Hi i loved this video i just wanted to ask when do you use scalp scrubs? How often etc? I also dye my hair blonde did you say you only do highlights every 5 months? It looks blonde all over what kind of highlights do you do?

Montserrat Solís: Hi! Love your hair and you tips however could you give me a tip. i live in a tropical weather and it us very humid. The most part of the time my hair is humid as well i do have to make a high pony or a bow to avoid the humidity under my neck. Since i moved here my hair is not the same anymore. Do you have any advice for this?

yayadrew: Your background is so aesthetically pleasing.

patient marmalade: How would I keep my hair from breaking despite having to put my hair in a bun most days for work? ( I’m in the military) My ends don’t look the greatest after I take out my bun.

Tiana Nguyen: I have a video suggestion: can you do a video about easy hairstyles for occasional outings?

Celeste Crainiceanu: It is very true to stop washing hair too often.. your hair gets dependent to the washing and even after two days it will be like a total mess if you don't wash it so don't wash your hair too often!

Luma: Hey ! So I already have pretty long hair , but one problem I have is that it's frizzy. I have straight hair , but when I wash it , it looks pretty frizzy. It takes up to the third day for it to not be frizzy anymore , but by that time it starts to get oily on the top. ❤️ Do you have any advice ?

100: 1. Don't wash your hair often. 2. Gently wash your hair. 3. When getting knots out, you need to use a comb and be very gentle. 4. Dry your hair naturally 5. Dry shampoo is not your friend. Yes, it makes your hair look dry and full however, it's most likely causing your dry scalp. 6. Do not get your hair cut often. Only a few trims during that year. A TRIM ONLY!

SoGorgeous 2: I only get my hair trimmed once every 12 weeks every other visit to the hair salon. I’m almost 67 (but that’s the new 47) and I have long beautiful hair.

B Goulet: I wash my hair with baking soda... Yes, baking soda. I have long blonde hair, too. Darker blonde, I'm 40 and we all know that blonde hair darkens with age. Ugh! Yes, I use conditioner about every other time I wash. I wash my hair about once per week. More if I'm going out and it needs it. I love HOT showers, but I will finish with ice cold water.

sen: finding her channel is the best thing ever happened to me:))

Fikriye Köse: Thanks for a useful video♥️

normuzi: what’s your favorite dry shampoo?

Jeremy: I have lots of hair, but it is FINE hair with wave in it (natural hair color, no dye)...one thing I have found is that other than putting in some heat protection product for blow drying and hairspray...using other styling products makes my hair look worse and beats it up! I do much better trying to keep things simple. I will blow dry the top of my head around my scalp because this keeps away oily looking scalp for longer, and I let the length of my hair air dry in a top bun high on my head with a few bobbi pins to secure it (wash my hair at night). The top bun when let down later that night or the following morning gives my hair TONS of volume, and I get those perfectly manicured looking, fluffy waves as well for the day. I LOVE eva NYC Mane Magic 10 in 1 hair primer spray. It is one of the few things I can use on my hair. I have also found that despite living in a dry climate if I use super duper moisturizing conditioners it weighs my hair down too much. It's better to give my hair a good drench of an overall conditioner or volumizing conditioner.

Anastasia Tsermbis: What about if you're working with oils (castor oil + coconut oil) I was told you want to really shampoo thoroughly to wash it out

Ratna Pertiwi: I have a serious issue about hair loss do you have any advice to at least reduce it?

Maha Mm: Having straight thin hair jsut doesn't allow you to skip days on the washing, sulfate free just doesn't do the trick.

Erika Pelaez: Thanks for the tip i been doing wrong all my life using a ton of shampoo

Anna Brown: How do you go without brushing your hair? Mine gets so tangly just from everyday life!

Mal: You've got the most beautiful hair!

Morgan Cashman: I used to use lots of shampoo, a few days ago my mom told me to use about as much as a quarter

Jen Jorolan: Awesome hair tips thanks for this,

Moose Johnson: I used this article when it comes to drying my hair: https://anndermatol.org/DOIx.php?id=10.5021/ad.2011.23.4.455 and I leave Diva Curl conditioner in my hair after washing ( put it in wet; add water to make it ribbonie; then dry it at temperature less than 47 C or 124 F max!) I don't dye my hair nor use any direct contact heat styling (this could damage the cortex, cuticle layer and cell membrane complex.) It's very healthy, long and split end free!

Lisa Calder: Baking soda and vinegar is an extremely gentle way to cleanse and smooth/shine hair. And it's very cheap, and it's safe for the environment, and there's no chemicals, and there's no plastic waste because you keep filling the same containers/dispensers, and vinegar smooths and shines your hair by closing the 'scales' on the hair rather than depositing silicone into the scales and weighing it down.

jasmin: i always wash my hair twice with shampoo because it's so much softer and doesn't need to be washed as quick as when i only wash them once with shampoo

Lisa Pew: I shower almost everyday but sometimes I avoid washing it but still get it wet. Is that alright or should I just keep it dry and use my dry shampoo?

Mira Cheraa: Very helpful. Ty

Chen Yi Jia Zhang: If we go to the hair salon and we want to get the same hair style as you, what should we say to the hair dresser?

KYLE ??: i use a quarter size amount of shampoo and then just use water to distribute it into my scalp as much as i can. it may not be for everyone but for me, i don't need to lather up to feel like my scalp is clean.

aianaiya: Hi alex, please can you tell me what kind of camera you use to film your videos? the quality is beautiful.

Cristian Flores: Alex I love it all the hair style thank you

Zemma Luise Westh Poder: I am down to washing my hair to once a week. It took me a few months to get there. I would love to keep normal content on YouTube. I Think a bit of normalcy will be nice.

Katie Margaret MacIntyre: Also is it ok to use half shampoo and half conditioner?

myweakness188: "Don't wash your hair" combined with "dry shampoo is your best friend" is basically how I got dandruff, itchiness and basically wounds on my scalp - pls be careful... And I only washed my hair every second day, I didn't overdo it. It took me several months to heal from it - now I wash my hair daily as I used to and my scalp is finally healthy.

Trieu Le: my hair is thin and straight, and pretty silky. I wash it almost everyday because if I skip 1-2 days, of course it gets oily, and the hair starts falling uncontrollably. so, tip 1 is not useful for me :(

Rose • Bounty: My hair is very long, it’s currently middle of my bum. It’s been long and healthy for over several years. It’s very fine but there’s a lot of it. Lately I’ve been washing my hair on every 3rd day, however previously when I washed everyday it remained healthy still. There’s really no difference in my experience. I use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner (it does help with fine hair especially.) My hair still gets greasy on the second day as well. I hate the feeling of dry shampoo...also if you use it too often it can clog your hair follicles and prevent growth. — if you wash your hair often, just restore the oils by adding some joboba oil or any other natural oil or leave in conditioner to the length. It works great for me!! — I avoid heat tools, blow drying, and back-combing. I use a WET Brush, and i brush it damp but it doesn’t tug st all, it’s the best hair brush I’ve ever owned. — I ALWAYS put my hair in a braid or in a bun at night. silk scrunchies all the way. — I only cut my hair a tiny bit whenever I feel like the ends need a fresh clip. — i don’t go to the hairdresser very often neither, I’ve had some bad experiences. Make sure they don’t overprocess or damage your hair! They can undo all the love you put into your hair with one visit. — My diet is very well rounded. I eat all meat, dairy, and veggies without much restriction. and LOTS OF WATER. Above all, manage your stress levels. Stress is a no no in all areas beauty! You are ALL beautiful no matter the hair length. Hope this was some useful reference or help for anyone! xo

maria fyf: I’m assuming you don’t recommend those blow drying brushes at all then? I use the hot tools charcoal one & it’s just so much faster to tame my hair type when I do wash my hair, like a quick at home blow out!
