Librarian Known For Her Very Long Hair Gets Her First Haircut In 8 Years On Stage
Coming up on a milestone birthday (the big 5-0!), viewer Wendy was ready for a seriously epic makeover, courtesy of celeb hair stylist Ted Gibson.
There, maybe I'm ready, now., I'm Wendy from Bridgeport Connecticut., I'm 49 years old., I am single., I have no children and I haven't cut my hair in eight and a half years.. My hair is so long. I'Ve grown it out three times and I've donated it. Ugh.. These ends are so dry. It does get a little bit difficult to take care of, especially on these humid days.. I wear it up I'll braid it I'll bun it.. When my hair is this long, though sometimes it gets stuck in things., It gets stuck in people's glasses in people's jewelry.. Sometimes I close a door on it., (, laughs, ), I've always loved my long hair, but now that I'm about to turn 50. I think it's time for a change.. I would describe my style as Bohemian.. I like flowy, skirts and dresses and colors and patterns and florals. The world should have more color in it.. I always shop on clearance.. I never get anything full price, either clearance or the thrift store.. Maybe I should grow out of that at sometime. I don't know, but it works for me.. I absolutely love my job at the library and I wish it were full time, but it's just part time. So I've been interviewing for more full time work and I think that a fresh new look would give me more confidence and maybe it'll be the same with going on. Dates. People know me by my hair, so all of that is really scary to think it's just gon na change., But life is change.. My mom passed away when she was 50 and turning 50 is, I think, much more meaningful for me than it would've been if she had been around. In her honor. I wan na just really live my life to the fullest and be the best me. I can be. When we first started the show, I'm like everybody does makeovers, let's not do makeovers and then we started doing them and we put a weird twist on all of them and I'm like. Oh, my god. I love these And I love those They're. So fun Yeah they were so fun. So are we gon na make the first cut Absolutely Here you can hold my hand., So I'm gon na turn you around this way. Wendy.. Are you freaked out by cutting off a lot of hair? My gosh, I am I've, been known for my hair for forever, so I am a little bit, but I'm really ready. You're ready., I'm ready now.. I sense. This., Hey, don't forget this part.! Oh thanks. I didn't see that part., I'm like don't, leave her without one little tail., And you know I that think when you have hair this long and you're gon na cut it all off. I think it's important to think about where you're gon na donate it.. I was gon na say You know You should cut off enough to donate it. ( audience applauds ). If you're gon na make a change, you might as well make a change in other people's lives too.. This will be the fourth time that I've donated my hair.. So, fourth time she's donated her hair bless, her., Good job., Alright, first cut. ( audience cheers ) Nice, Oh he's, leaving enough to where it's right at your shoulders., Okay, great great., It's not short. He's almost done. There we go Wow, Oh my gosh. Can I touch it Yeah? Of course you can. Of course you can. See it's still at your shoulders.. Already it looks amazing. (, yelling ) Come on out Wendy ( audience cheers ) Wendy, Wendy, Wendy, Wendy Wendy turn around and look at your hair. It'S amazing! Oh my gosh Wow Paula's crying.. Oh my goodness. She's, clearly crying Wow Wendy Wen-do. What What What Gorgeous right? Rachael? Oh, my god, Jason! Look at that color! It'S good Ted! Listen! This is where we're doing what we do best. Oh my god, So much fun.! Oh wow., Well, you know Jason told me he's inspirational now.. Well, how do you feel? Don'T cry? You look amazing. I honestly I don't recognize myself.. It'S amazing. I feel like such a different person. I feel so free and light and ( audience cheers )

Iowangal Smith: Wigs made with real hair are alot of work. you have to wash condition blow dry and curl it. But wigs made with artificial hair are easy. Wash in sink once week. No styling comb out n go. If a person is on chemo and sick they dont want to take the time to care for real hair wigs.

Joe Bloggs: That's sort of hair can look good long but requires considerable maintenance eg a nice trim or maybe some layers cut into it for style, perhaps a colour....If one is going to have such hair long, it is best worn up, with a few curly tendrils hanging don the side of the face. But in this case, she shorter hair does suit her better.More bounce and volume etc.

I hate that they straightened her hair they should have left it curly! I can't stand that dress either it looks very old fashioned!
