Aveda How-To | Long Hair Faux Bob Hairstyle To Celebrate Any Occasion

http://www.aveda.com/product/5290/1698... Try out a shorter hairstyle with this faux bob look using a perfectly crafted ponytail. In this hair tutorial, Aveda Artist Jill creates the illusion of a long bob hairstyle with either curly or straight long hair.

For this look, flat iron hair smooth, straight or work with your natural hair texture. Create a small braid that sits slightly above the back hairline. This braid will act as an anchor to pin hair up and will be hidden by the ponytail. Before creating the ponytail, apply Brilliant Emollient for curly hair or Light Elements Smoothing Fluid for straight hair. Next, create a low ponytail by securing with an elastic band 2-inches below the nape of the neck. Move the secured elastic band up to the hidden braid. Anchor the ponytail by pinning the band into the braided hair. Finish the look with Control Force Firm Hold Hair Spray for maximum hold.

Hi, I'm Jill and I'm Anita artists. You wouldn't believe this, but I have really long hair. I want to show you how to take your long hair and turn it into afro bob, giving you an entirely new look. Trust me it's easier than you think. Here'S what you'll need light elements, smoothing fluid control force, firm, hold hairspray and elastic bobby pins and sectioning Clips start by applying light elements, smoothing fluid from the mid length to the ends to help smooth frizz tame flyaways and give your style some added shine. First use a sectioning comb to part the hair down. The middle of your head then divide the hair into three sections: a left right and back section. If your hair is really long and thick, you can use a clip to hold the hair in place. Using the back section, create a small, horizontal braid across the head from ear to ear. This braid will be hidden by the ponytail. You will create and will act as an anchor to pin up the hair coil the braid around and pin it flat to the head using bobby pins. This will serve as a pin cushion next create a low ponytail two inches below the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic band. Now, roll the ponytail under and anchor it by horizontally, pinning through the elastic band into your base, pull hair slightly out to create more fullness and volume to your box. Finally, a massive control force, firm mode hairspray, will provide you with lasting hold and there you have it. The faux bob
