Hi everyone welcome back to my channel and in today's video we are going to address my frequently most asked hair questions, and for a lot of these, I had intended to do a specific video, for I just figured. Why not do kind of a frequently asked questions? All answered kind of in one video also, I did kind of want to keep things a little bit lighter. I know that there has been so much drama just so much going on on YouTube, so I I've actually had a couple of clients. Ask me like: are you gon na, do your truth and are you gon na and honestly? I feel like that. I don't need to do this and frankly I just I'm not a drama person and I rather not feed into it. The only other thing I'm going to say about this issue is that I think the most well done video that I've seen circulating YouTube regarding this issue, and that is Samantha revanth. All I believe, that's how you pronounce her name. I absolutely loved this girl not only for her makeup skills and for how just absolutely gorgeous she is, but the way she speaks she says it like. It is she's blunt, so definitely link her page in that video down below. So if you were wondering what my thoughts are on, this issue - 100 % - she says it anyway, let's get into the sole purpose of this video all right. So a lot of the questions that I have here are going to range from color questions, to kind of salon, questions to just overall like silly kind of hair questions or questions that some people have been like embarrassed to sort of ask, because they think it's a Dumb question so, basically anything that I've heard that I've either sense that the client is a little bit uncomfortable or feels bad for asking or questions that I get asked all the time, I'm basically going to try it and get through all of those. So you guys see me on my phone. I am just you know, making sure that I hit all of the main ones. Okay, I'm just going to address this one first, because this one has been asked quite a few times and every time they ask they they're like I know this is so dumb but like I need to know where does hair grow from and the first time someone Asked this question I was like what do they mean and they were like well? Does it grow from the end or does it go from the root because I feel like it has to be from the end? Because when we cut the ends they grow out, so it has to be from the end. And if you don't know the answer to that question, your hair definitely grows from the root from the scalp, that is the source of where hair is getting its nutrients basically and that it's its home and that's where it grows out of. That is why, when you color your hair, you obviously see the roots coming up on top rather than at the bottom, then your natural color would be growing on the ends. Now, moving on to probably the most misunderstood question, this is regarding toner and often times people say I tried a toning shampoo or I try to tone her at home and why didn't it make my hair brighter? So let me just say right now: toner will never ever ever make your hair brighter. Technically, it's actually making the hair darker, because it's adding a film of color to the outside of the hair, but what purple does to yellow is, since they are opposite colors. It kind of cancels out the warmth in the yellow, but it's still going to be the exact same level that it was before. The only thing that's going to make the hair lighter is bleach, and that means to actually remove basically almost a layer of the hair. In order to make the hair light, which then we move on to the next question, which is for anyone that say, has blond, highlights and then like a brownish, pretty warmish root and they'll say like yeah, I went into a salon to get my hair tone because I didn't like the warmth and I'm looking at their highlights and I'm thinking your highlights, look really bright to me. Your howit's didn't at all seem like they would need a toner and then they say well, no. I meant on my roots, so roots and hair. That'S been bleached, take toner completely different toner is made for hair, that is say lighter than a level-8. So if there is any darker than Tony's not going to work so the next one is more of a salon, question or a question that a lot of my clients might ask if it's their first time booking an appointment, and that is. Can you give me an estimate for what this would cost and they'll? Send me a picture of the model and saying how much is this hair color cost the answer for that? There is no actual answer to that question because I don't know what you are starting off with, so whether if this is your end result but you're starting off with this, it's going to be one price. If you want this result, but you're starting off with this, it's gon na be a completely different process that I'm gon na have to do to get you to that color. So basically, it's really impossible before having met you or seeing your hair in person to give you an exact estimate. So what I have my booking person do is sending you a price sheet, and I know that if you're, not a hairdresser, you're, not gon na know, if you need a toner or a dusting or a root touch-up or whatever, it's still gon na give you more Or less of a ballpark of what your appointment would cost you can see whether someone's haircuts are 20 bucks or 75 or 200. It just kind of gives you a feel for like what you're going in for okay, the next one I'm. I know that this definitely will upset some people. I know that I've definitely been one of those people to believe in this and obviously before I was a hairdresser, and that is when you want your hair to grow out to not cut in, and I know I really does sound just completely counterintuitive. If you want length - and you want your hair to grow, why would you cut it and I totally get it? It sounds like it would make sense, but I can't stress enough that dry, damaged hair is not pretty and B. It is not going to grow to its fullest potential, but basically a healthy strand of hair starts growing out of the follicle. It'S solid all the way to the bottom. It starts growing. Then it starts to get some heat. It starts. You know to get some and tear there might be some coloring processing going on, and so once all of that stuff happens to the hair, also, depending on how strong your hair is naturally meaning be kind of just the dimension of the hair. Do you have really thick hair? Do you have really fine thin hair, so the thinner, the actual hair, is the more susceptible it is to breakage and to anything else, just imagine basically, a thin string versus a very thick rope. Thick rope is obviously going to take a lot more than the thin string, and so basically, when that strand of hair starts getting a lot done to it, and so it starts to kind of unravel almost the way a rope would, and so it starts to split And of course it splits at the bottom, because that's kind of its weakest point so starts to split. The first stage is just one single split: then you can have multiple splits, then you can start having hair. That basically looks like Christmas trees, and we definitely don't want that so when, whenever someone has really dry damaged hair - and this is even when you blow dry even when you flatten it - it still looks really frizzy still looks really dry. That'S normally at this stage here. If you were to cut it, where all that damage is you're still left with the very healthy hair, but the more damage there is, the more you're gon na have to cut off. So, ideally, what you want to do is to cut it when it gets to this first stage, so, basically nipping it right where it starts to be a problem, whereas if this starts to really break - and you never cut it where it needs to be cut. Basically, this little fine piece at the end is not gon na make it so in a couple of weeks that will break off and another week or so the next one will break off and so on and so forth. Until in one month, you probably lose about two inches of hair. Obviously this is slight a slight exaggeration, I'm just trying to kind of explain to you at the right. It can happen. So, basically, if you're cutting off say an eighth of an inch every month, which is very often the average person will cut their hair between six eight weeks, you are doing so you were take. Even if you take off just an eighth of an inch. You are really just taking care of all of those dry damaged ends, so that means that in a month you will have grown out more than you've removed, if that makes sense. So if you keep doing that, if you think about it in a year, you will have so much more growth than what you have cut. But if you don't cut your hair at all and unless you were blessed by having super gorgeous thick luscious, pocahontas hair, most likely at the end of the year, if you have not cut your hair, you will have lost more than you have naturally grown. I have a lot of clients say to that like well, my hair just doesn't grow, it's always been like this. I don't expect it to grow and they have roots too here after six weeks of me, coloring their hair. So clearly, your hair has grown that much, but your length down here is exactly the same as it was six weeks ago. So that means that, yes, your hair in fact is growing. It'S just you're losing it at the ends due to the dryness and kind of status of the hair. The other thing is: what is a dusting, and I get this asked all the time I have talked about it on my channel quite a bit and for those girls that are afraid of losing length, but do want to come at all of that dry split ends. Then what you need is a dusting. Basically, when you look at hair, the damage is always at the ends, but not all of your ends end at the same spot and that's where we have an issue. So if I were to curl my hair kind of around my finger this way, I could probably grab one hair that doesn't make it all the way to the end here, and so that means that that hair has not made it. It could be new hair. It could be hair that has already snapped off, regardless of what it is. Those ends also need to be kept up, and so, if my hair is down to here every time I get a haircut. If all I cut is the ends. You'Ve not done anything to this little hair, that's halfway there. So what a dusting is is addressing all of the ends of your hair, but if you're doing just a dusting and not a cut as well, you will leave with essentially feeling, like you, have the exact same length as when you came in. But you have tackled every single one of your ends, so basically the technique is just wrapping the hair around your finger like that and if you can see any hair that sticks out, you cut the end of that. Then you move down a little bit more. Did you see how I have just a few more if you guys can actually see that, but that is a perfect split end right there so, and hopefully you guys can see this as well as I can see it in the viewfinder see healthy ends now. So, what's going to end up happening is that that hair is going to grow, healthy, shiny and because now it's back to its like the strongest potential, all right so for the next one is, does blonde your fade, and so we already talked a little bit about Toners today and basically in order to be blonde you're, basically over a level six or a level, seven or lighter, so once you've gotten someone to that more end of the scale that is never going to fade away, because, basically, what you've done with bleach is basically H out parts of the hair in order to expose a lighter hair that is basically underneath so imagine a cucumber and how it has the green skin on the outside and the green is right now the brown part of the hair. Now, if you take a carrot, peeler and you kind of just start, etching out all the skin, what's going to happen, it's going to expose the kind of white cucumber fleshy color, that's on the inside, so it's no longer the green on the outside. Now you've exposed. What'S on the inside, and that's essentially, what bleach is doing to your hair so once you've removed that that brown or whatever color you started with it's not going to grow back you've already removed it you've killed it it's gone. What you are left with is the lightness underneath now is that blonde ever does change color or become a little brassy or slightly a little bit, not as vibrant, then it was when it first was done. That'S because when you remove that pigment with bleach, the hair essentially has been left with holes and because of those little holes all over the hair. Through all the elements that we expose, our hair to the hair acts as a sponge and picks up everything from air to debris, to oils to hair products and it kind of harbors them in the hair and that's what actually ends up making your hair. Look a lot more dull and a little bit darker than when you first got it done, but the answer to that question is blonde, never fades if you guys are still listening. Dakiniwoman: My experience... For 15 years I got my hair "trimmed" 4 times per year in an attempt to let it grow long...My hairdresser just trimmed off the ends each time. I have very fine hair.  It never grew very much at all so I was left with shoulder-length hair. Then I decided to not get it cut at all because I was so frustrated at not having long hair. So for the past four years I have not had it cut at all and finally it is now waist length and I really love it... so I am continuing to let it grow... In my mind, Long hair is when you can sit on it... I am still trying to get long hair... It is now all-natural almost pure white and I love it so much! I am 73 years old...

Lori K: I can't believe even one adult questioned if hair grows from the scalp or the ends! Seriously?

Star: This is my truth - I had my hair cut into a shoulder length bob over 10 years ago. After having it that way for a year ,I told my hairdresser that I want to grow it long .Every 2 months I would go back for a “ trim” and every time she would say that in order for you to grow your hair I have to cut as much as I did .Well let me tell you for NINE YEARS my hair was one length but barely past my shoulders. I finally stopped going to her and in a years time my hair is now half way down my back is long and healthy. Now when I get my hair trimmed I show these scissor happy hairdressers with my fingers exactly how much to take off and tell them to shush when they want to take off more. My hair is healthy and shiny and long!

Lela61: I’m an artist. When you talked about using purple on the yellow hair to make darker, I thought about how you can mix purple, yellow, and white to make blonde hair when painting a portrait. So it has the same effect. Just thought that was interesting

vıgotube: Hey! A little question Do all of these tips also apply to curly hair? Or are there some differences that you have to remember when trying to grow out curls? Love your videos, they're very very helpful thx!

B N: Just recently discovered your channel and now I’m binge watching everything. You are so good at explaining everything into detail, I love it!

j4b: Everything she said about growth Nf breakage is so true!! I have fine, dry, naturally curly/wavy hair and it does grow...but it breaks like crazy. I haven’t had a trim in a year (stupid, I know) and it is literally still the same length, if not SHORTER in some places. ‍♀️ Get your trims!

Karen Pruden's Let's Stitch & Makeup: I never knew about dusting before until my daughter became a hairstylist. I had gone to many stylists in my life and never had a stylist offer a dusting or heard anyone ever talk about it. But when my 17 year old daughter went to school to become a hairstylist she found out from another stylist. So I get a dusting done from her and my hair has grown so much and is very long. I love getting a dusting besides my split ends cut. She now is a barber and loving it! Thanks for answering all the different questions that people don't normally get to ask a stylist or are to embarrassed to ask.

Brinn S: I’m SO excited to have learned about dusting. I’m always so stressed about having to trim my hair. I’m trying to grow it out long so I know I need to keep it healthy but now I’m definitely gunna start having dusting done between trims!

Stephannie Aleyda: My hair grows so slow when I cut it often it doesn’t keep the length. For me it’s better to hold off on trims. It’s the only way I can actually get more length. I’ve try both methods and cutting to often really keeps my hair short

Crystal’s Corner: Love this! Explained so well! I am a hairstylist and I’m going to share this on my fb so my clients can hear it. I couldn’t have said it better myself! Thanks!

Brittany Miller: I love this video! I started to color my own hair about a year ago to save some money. And I do an allover level 3 so it is easy to do. I wanted to start trimming my own hair but had no idea where to start. I am so glad I found you! This one video has helped me so much. I would love to eventually start to add blonde into my hair to blend in my grays that I am starting to get and you have gave me confidence that I can eventually do it. Thanks for doing these videos. They are really done so good.

Jadorelamode Paris: For possibly 4 years I have been search and destroying split ends weekly, my hair has never been healthier and longer...honestly I can’t believe it. You speak the truth!

s mmg: I love how informative and straight to the point your videos are!!! Thank you!

JusDoin-Meh: I went to Cosmetology school and I have never heard split-ends explained so well! You are gifted!

Gabi: I am a hairdresser and I loved this video because I get these types of questions all of the time. Great work! I am going to make a video to address these questions for my clients too so it was nice to hear your take on a lot of the way I answer my questions! XO

ArtLuver: Wow, fabulous video! Yes I learned SO much. Love your way of explaining the 'split end' and how it can, if not regularly cut, effect growth. Also going to ask my hairstylist if she does "a dusting" unless you think it might insult her. Been wanting hair to grow and not wanting her to cut it It was an AHA moment (Lol) for me...she needs to cut it.

STIL av s. Eriksson: Loved this video! can you do a informative video about haircare? The differents between oils, natural coconut, and what oils do to your hair (moisture or just fat) how it affects the hair, what ingredients to look for in haircareproducts?

Rose Bloomie: You are so gifted at explaining these things! I have had a pixie cut for 5 years & have loved it but now I'm growing it out for a change... it grows pretty fast but I didn't understand about how important it is to get regular trims even though I'm trying to go longer. Thank you so much for this info!!! Going to do a trim asap

Mama Loves the Beach!: I've done the "dusting" method my whole life but never knew it was a thing! I've had very long hair throughout my 64 years but have noticed dramatic thinning postmenopause ... especially in the last 4 years. I'm guessing most of your listeners and clients are half my age but would love for you to address older clients. Thanks so much!

Meighan Rose: Now everyone is wrapping their hair around their finger and looking for those nasty split ends! Also, who doesn't know hair grows out of your scalp?

Emily K: I just trimmed the ends and did a dusting of my own hair. Holy shit, my hair is like goddamn SILK right now. I have wavely/curly/frizzy hair and between using appropriate shampoo/conditioner and argan/keratin heat treatment, doing my hair is a form of self care, not a chore. Thank you for the video, I definitely have WAY more confidence in my hair right now.

Danielle Smith: Loved how you explained everything! For the very last part, when you mentioned how the hair has holes and absorbs everything into it. Is it possible to repair it or does it have to be cut to start over?

THT: Learned a lot from this video. I do have a question though, I am growing out my bangs and because I am over 50, my hair does grow a bit slower than it did when I was younger. Can you share some options for styling longer bangs? I like a bit of volume and with my bangs being a bit thin (my hair is also fine textured), I could use some help. Thank you!

supreme quart: Fabulous video! I went blonde from a level 1.5 a couple years ago. I love the look, but my stylist failed to tell me how much maintenance would be necessary and how taking care of level 9 hair is way different than taking care of darkened hair. Baby it, tone it, and baby it some more. Did I mention to baby it??

Gabriela C: I've learned a lot from this video, you are so good explaining everything. thank you !

Makiyaz by Teena: Loved it! Learned so much from this video ❤️

Anne Roswall: I absolutely love the way you explain about hair in your videos, it's always so simple listening to you and understanding what you're saying

Linda Buchanan: Always love your content and that you provide us viewers with accurate and helpful information! There is SO much misinformation out there on the net! Anyway. As for subject matter for a video I would like to see, or even if you could just tell me your personal opinion on this, I have been wondering how you feel about using Redken for haircoloring when it comes to doing redheads. I love their toners and I've now recently begun playing with their colorgels a little bit too but have only used brown and blonde shades. I'm in cosmo school at the moment, getting near to being done come Dec (yay!! ) and one of my instructors really likes Redken as well but she said the only thing she doesn't like is their reds. I'm considering going from blonde to red (like a copper/strawberry blonde) and was going to just use Wella. (I do my own hair, it's fun. Lol.) But I'm just so curious to know your opinion on Redken's reds. I know you're an ambassador for them, so asking a question like this is probably kinda silly. but I think a video on their reds would be really cool!

Angie S: Thanks for explaining the hair trim/growth. I went to get touch ups on my roots a few weeks ago and my hair dresser told me my roots were a little more than 4 inches. I thought she was wrong because the last time I had my highlights was around 5 months before that. That would mean my hair grew pretty fast but I definitely didn't gain that 4 inches in length. I knew I had major roots but I thought she was crazy telling me it was that much, it didn't make sense! Lol... P.S - I live in L.A. and NEED to go see you in the new year. You're sooo talented, plus I need a trip to SF again!!

Darcy Elaine: Thank you so much for making this video! You explained things well & used examples I could understand. Looking forward to watching more of your content

GREGORY GRIGGS: This is so helpful, I refer my customers to your channel all the time. There are so many myths out there and you really hit the nail on the head. I don’t know if you’ve already talked about it but maybe if you can talk about color correcting and transition from dark permanent color to lighter colors. I get asked all the time about lighteners vs. color remover.

Lorna Brooks: Great tips ! I started dusting my ends once a month and I’m seeing amazing results

CHANTAL XOXO: Yay you're awesome! I'm naturally a dark brown Brunette but I've been blonde for about 10 years now and my hair is soooo short and dead My next step is to now cut it to my shoulders and wait for it to grow back. Thanks for all of the tips!! xo

frotecka: Great video! Thank you So much knowledge as usual! How I wish my hairdresser know this! I need to cut my split ends.. now I know how to cut these upper ones. Yeah

Princess.Brooke: So helpful!! I’m in cosmetology school right now and as you know there is only so much the teachers can teach you. So it’s great to have successful cosmetologist to spread their knowledge!!

Lisa Stuper: Hi Ellebangs! Thank you for your videos, you always do such a great job, and are very informative. I have a question stemming from your last Q&A. Since blonde hair doesn't fade, but picks up environmental things that can eventually dull it, i s there something I can use at home to remove those factors and brighten it back up? Thanks!

Elizabeth Stevenson: This is exactly what I wanted to hear! Too many people on YouTube always say to cut the ends for growth but they don’t actually explain why and maybe they don’t even know it themselves. It’s great to know there’s at least someone who knows the logic behind it!

Ana Garcia: I’m saving up so I can go to you to get my hair done! It’ll be my first time and I know I’ll have to bleach it but I don’t trust anyone else with my hair, so I’m willing to drive 3hours to sf! lol

fer ref: Thank you for this video! ♥ It was very helpful! I differently now need to get to cutting my hair Yikes!! Love your videos!! ♥♥♥

gspice71: I never understood why trimming or dusting hair frequently, allowed the hair to grow longer until your explanation. Thank you!

Cyanide_Lollipop: I am SO HAPPY that I found your channel. My hair is bleached white all around underneath w/med. auburn on the rest. I've always dyed it myself, and I really appreciate the new things I've learned from you so far! I recently decided I recently decided to go from all waist-length hair to shorter w/layers. Since I don't trust anyone to touch my hair, lol, I did it myself, chopping off nearly 7 inches, using a few of your vids for tips 'n tricks. It looks and feels amazing! Thanks so much for doing what you do! Love from Seattle! ️

Andrea B: No one has ever explained hair growth and upkeep like you just explained. I love it. Thank you my dear!

Samantha Petersen: My hair is past half way down my back. The key is getting trims every 6 weeks at least. I used to go a year without trimming but the ends would be sooo damaged by then that I’d have to chop inches off. My hair is so long and healthy bc of the trims. It works, do it!

arletteross: Thank you so so much. I'm getting ready to get my blonde done ❤️

La M: Thank you. I was wondering what your favorite detangler is? After I wash my hair I can barely get a comb through and I lose so much hair and it’s so traumatic for me. I have fine hair/sensitive scalp and I color it blonde used to bleach highlight and now just high lift tint hoping it would be less damaging. Any thoughts would help‼️

Bunny Lang: As someone who helps my friends with their hair, I can completely understand how the prices can differ based upon the hair you're starting off with, and the non-guarantee of what will happen once you have to... dig deep. I don't charge my friends, it's a friend thing,. But I know for sure, it's the cost of product, hair remover/bleach/moisture. conditioning, color, and if one's hair is thick, more color is needed. It's the time it takes and the ability to be able to tell what color is most complementary, blue? What shade of blue... There is so much a hair dresser can do if they know what they are doing. I've had 2 wonderful hair dressers/colorists in my life. Yes, it cost more, but I didn't feel like I needed to rush home and fix anything. Which if you pay a chain store price and rush home to fix it, you will spend a great deal of money on product, even the same amount of money you would spend on getting it done right in the first place, vs. buying product to fix it yourself. However, just because someone charges more does not mean they can do the job. I prefer references. And also feel portfolios are essential to prove to your clients, you can do, this, this, this, this, and this.

Vanessa Torres: I learned so much on this video, thank you.. I hope you continue to make more videos like this. I'm off to the salon to get a trim after learning cutting your hair helps it grow lol

Ashleigh H: I love your analogies!! They explain things so well! And the drawings, I learn from visuals! X

erospiros: You explained everything so well! Thank you!

JustJanet: I started trimming my ends when you were talking! Haha! I am in the fine hair category and the sides of my hair are growing ... but appear to be breaking ... I have taken away most heat and/or at least I have backed it off to only maybe twice a week. I Olaplex at least twice a week. Any suggestions would be awesome! I use Living Proof Shampoo and conditioner! I have grown a pixie cut out to what I think is medium length short hair. It’s almost down my neck in the back and chin on the sides... it’s not a mullet! Haha! It’s in a bob! HELP

RLSCS: This is the best explanation for split end care that I have ever heard. Thank you.

Karen Plunkett: I could watch your videos all day! So much content and so easy to understand! Keep them coming! :)

E. Lee Argh: Hello Elle, when “dusting” my own split ends, can I use any scissors? Also, I deep condition my hair once a week but was recently told not to do that by my hairdresser bc I can over deep condition and cause damage. Let me know!

Jen Drives A Jeep: Great job! Do you ever get questions on why when you get low lights put in, they fade so fast & is it still ok to use purple shampoo for the blonde parts or is that one reason the darker hair fades? Thanks much!

Camryn Homer: In reference to your last QA, if the blonde hair is left with holes and appears darker/ dull over time, how do you combat that? I had 3/4 of my hair balayaged in the summer and the blonde looks noticeably darker.

Brandy Bobo: Awesome as always, and I learn something from you every-time I watch rest assured. I love the way you do your videos. No rush no fuss, to the point explained well, I Usually < if not always leave with no nagging questions about anything you have gone over. So Thank You very much for your Video’s! ;~)

Irishjay1369: Awesome explanation!!! Thank you, I have definitely learned a bunch of new tricks!! Thanks!

Galine Janjéguian Mokhtar: This was really helpful ! Can you please explain how we can reamove the wormth from the routes of the bleached hair? (the question no2) thanks

Figgie Jammer: Could you explain the absobtion rate of different oils and why it's important? Also what oils can we leave on overnight and which will clog pores? Sorry, but you are so good at explaining those things, I would love to hear your explanation.

Courtney Nappi: From one blondie to another Love you and your amazing content

Desiree D: Great video as always. Just something to add, the skin of the cucumber is like the cuticles of the hair, pigments exist in the cortex (cucumber flesh) so the lightening magic etc (the removal of pigments)occurs in the cortex not the cuticles (cucumber skin).

Vicky Villasenor: This is the best explanation I’ve ever heard for split ends!

Selina: Really good video and very informative thanks Elle!

Sabrina Stovall: Great video !! You look amazing as always

Anthea Michelle: The haters gonna hate! Don't worry about them! I love your videos and your hair and makeup is just beautiful! Keep the great videos coming!! seeya, from Australia!!

Erin Yow: This is really good, but I feel compelled to point out that someone's hair could also just "not grow" if their hair has a short growth cycle. Hair periodically falls out and is replaced by a new hair. How often this happens is determined by genes. This is why your eyelashes, for example, are a different length compared to someone else's. It's a combination of how fast the hair grows and how often it is shed. The hair on a woman's head usually does not grow to the maximum potential length allowed by the frequency with which it sheds because we cut it before it gets that long, or it breaks off due to damage. It is, however, an explanation for why some women cannot grow their hair longer.

Su Numan: The explanation of how the hair breaks by not cutting it was spot on. Thank you. Xxxxx.

carmencr1977: First, thank you for all the usefull information in your videos. As I'm from Spain and Unfortunetly I can't visit your Salon I want to ask you for some advice. You say that toner won't work on warm brown roots, my lights are bleaching great, I got a beautiful cold blonde and with ph bonder of Redken (which I bought after watching one of your videos) they look amazing but I don't know what to do with my warm roots. My hairdresser offered me to colour them with a darker brown but I'm afraid that when my hair grown I finnish having a weird mix of colours. Please could you tell me what option I have? Thank you so much!

Kristin B: Great video as usual Silvia !!!

Jasmine Cheema: You've gained a new subscriber :) Me :) I love your tips and honesty and your willingness to share xx

EBSTUDIO: So helpful, thank you, love your videos! :)

rose soto: Thank you for the answer to hair fading question. I know I’ve wondered that from time to time. Now I’m wondering what you would do if your blonde hair starts looking dull like you said from hair product or debri? Would I use a deed cleansing shampoo?

Moni: I love Samantha too! She's from my city and my daughter just finished the same hair and makeup school as her...she'll well known at the school of course;) But good for you to not buying into all that drama! Thanks for the tips and love you rmakeup!

Claretea: I hear you and agree about trims if you want your hair to grow. How can you get a hairdresser to actually do what you want which is a dusting and no more? It is so hard to get that done.

Joy: I have had split hair just like you explained and you are so right.

GeorgieGirl1012: I love so much that you mentioned dusting, actually you hit every point and this is one of the best videos!

#JohnnyDeppIsARapist!! #JohnnyDeppesracista: I toned my hair and it felt like it was stabbing me. I have very kinky hair. It looked great though, is there something I should try to do differently? It was great for blending gray which is a real big problem for me.

Krystal Wilkie: Thank you for this video! It’s very informative!

Mini River: Very impressed by your video!! Love it ❤️ btw you are a doll

Sonia G.: I wonder if there are such techniques as "dusting" here in Switzerland, it's brilliant and this is exactly what I would need on a regular basis! thank you, it's a joy to watch you :)

Steffanie Liebman: Best & easiest to understand explanations I have ever heard!! Thank you so much!! :-)

Teriele Vaphyra: Also, how can I add thickness and volume to my hair? It is very thin and beacause it grows so slowly, I have TONS of spilt ends. Do you think I should cute it shorter? Also, my hair won’t grow any longer than my waist, and if I am going to keep my hair long, l I want it to be linger. Do you have any tips on how to grow it longer? Thanks so much!

Sára Kuzsner: I have a question. My hair never grew past a certain point, it's about 10-15 centimeters longer than a bob. I wanted to grow my hair my whole life, and I tried everything, I do not use heat, I tried using oils, I tried not using oils, no sulfates, no silicones, no paraben, I never color it.... and It's stuck The mystery is the following: If it grows, and it grows fast (I cut myself bangs and they grew down in 2 or 3 months) and the ends are not split... Where is my hair going? How is it not getting any longer? Is it falling out?

SarahNoel: The length thing is true! I wanted to grow my hair and started cutting mayyyyyybe 1/4 inch every 2 months or so and now it’s down to my butt and super healthy. It’s intact too long and I need to chop it soon

Lara Steinbacher: Wow, very informative as I have blonde hair that is a lot if maintenance and never really knew what to ask for at the salon as far as a cut goes. Or why my hair feels like it never grows. Or why my hair looks brassy or dark sometimes even after using purple shampoo

Callie W311: So the last explanation was great, but what do you do when your blonde highlights or whatever get dull from products, environment, etc? Re-bleach it? Or will a clarifying shampoo do the trick? Or khelating (Chelate? spelling? Sounds like key-late, lol) Your hair? I'm talking bout the lemon Dawn dish soap process you taught us, anyway will that help? Or what can we do about "dull" blonde hair?

Sarah Bennett: What can we do to combat the elements that dull our blonde hair? Do you suggest a clarifying shampoo or maybe the chelate video you did? I'm never sure what to do to revive my blonde except more bleach lol. Thanks for all your tips!!

Marla Robinson: Your hair videos are so informative. I just love listening to you discuss hair.

Hayley: What a helpful video. Thank you!

Mary Salhanick: very informative... thanks for sharing... going in for 1/8" cut every month now!

Ana Aires: I learned sooo much I love this! Thank you!

Nicole Lori: Always love a hair video from you♥️

Alina B.: Great video, extremely helpful

Rita Stutler: I am a hairylist of 38 years and have heard it all. Onequestion that I get is how much is a trim Same as cut..what is left on the head is what is important. I trim or cut everything.. Even if it is a minute amount..loe your channel

Līga Laura: Loved this video! Thank you! ((:

ophelia2112: Thanks for making this video. Please film more like it I found it to be very informative.

Nicole Turk: Love your videos. I have a question that I was wondering if you could help me with. I have my hair highlighted. However my roots are dark, darker then I would like. We use redken cover fusion 6nn (I have 75%white hair) anytime I have tried 7nn it seems a little orange or translucent. Do you know if there is anything I can do to start touching up my new growth with a lighter color. I do go to the salon every 6-8 weeks (can’t get there more then that I have 8 kids)but in between I have to touch up the front at home because i can’t walk around with white hair...my stylist mentioned why don’t I do my base lighter next time and I just wanted your thoughts. I have never tried 8nn, I know that’s lighter then 7nn But was thinking maybe it has less red/orange in it...thanks for your time

Pamela Prescott: Great video Beautiful Elle❤ l can't believe someone asks if the hair grows at the bottom or the roots, oh well !! Lol. Take care

Luna Rey: Omg! Thank you now I know why my hair wasn’t growing:(
