Long Hair For Women Over 40 // Mermaid Curls For Mature Women Over 40

I love bugs it's jen and welcome to today's video. So today i'm gon na show you how i blow dry and style my long hair. Now i am 48 years old and sorry today i have no makeup on it's hot and sweaty. It'S all about the hair. In today's video so 48 years old long hair, i do color my hair. You can see in this tutorial that i do need to do my roots, but i love long hair and i've heard over the years. Oh once you get to be a certain age, you shouldn't have long hair and you should cut your hair. I think it's a lot of bs and i think that we should have our hair whatever makes us happy and for me right now it is long hair. My own hair is like almost to my waist and then i do put a four panel extension in i'm gon na show you how i style and curl my hair and how i put this four panel in so it's super quick. It'S super easy and i hope it gives you some inspiration if you have long hair that you can do this really quick and easy, i'm here to empower us to do what makes us happy and not what people tell us what to do. So i think it's really important to let you know my hair. My hair is very, very curly and i do a keratin treatment, also known as like a brazilian blow up, even though that's the company, i use a different company, but it's a keratin treatment to smooth it, and my hair tends to get really really frizzy. So i use products that are super moisturizing. You can do the same technique on fine hair, thin hair. You just want to adjust your product and use the olaplex system, but instead of using like the oil and the cream, substitute that, for maybe like a volumizing product or a mousse at the roots. So you can just slightly adjust your products, because my hair is like a chia pet, it grows and it gets frizzy and i have to tame the beast all right. First of all, my hair is clean and i use the full olaplex system. So i use the shampoo, the conditioner, the it's a 10 which isn't part of volaplex, but i use it to 10 and then i use the cream. The number six for moloplex and the oil, so that has been of course put in my hair and then what i like to do is let my hair get about 80 percent dry. I like doing that, so i'm not putting so much heat on my hair. If you are in the morning and in a rush of course, start with your hair, you know freshly towel dried with all of those products in it now. My hair is naturally curly with a keratin treatment. So i, like things that kind of weigh it down, but if you have more fine hair, you can use, you know. Volumizing products and you can also use like a mousse at the root so depending on your hair type, will depend on what products you use. Next, i'm gon na go in with the irresistible me, their black diamond blow dryer and also my wet dry brush just gon na. Take this and like flip, it back and forth and get some volume and just really get all of that moisture out with a little bit of root left. I don't understand why you hurt me. I don't understand just for us with tears, running down my face now. If you're really really super curly hair, i recommend brush and getting all that curl out and just smoothing it out and what i did at the very end of that blow dry time is. I put this on the cool and i cooled the cuticle down. That'S going to help eliminate frizz and help hold your style better for the next step. It'Ll also cool you down if you're having a hot flash which i was having - and i really love this dryer. This dryer is super nice. It dries the hair really fast. It'S fantastic all right now, i'm going to take my hair and actually section it into two, so one on the right side and one on the left side and i'm pulling all of my hair forward just like this, so starting on whatever side you want, i'm going To clip this hair away, using a claw clip getting that out of the way taking this big section, these can be really big sections. I have my hot tools. This is my one and a half barrel, curling iron, and i am starting it out the root and i'm going to take it back away from my face not forward and i'm going to curl all the way get get nice and warm and at the very end, I'M just going to run the end through and then let that come out and i'm going to repeat this on this side, taking big sections pulling it forward and curling it back and finish this side. Only you can make my world go black say you love me. Then yeah take it back, say it again say it again: you want my forgiveness i'll say it again. You just can't go back and make it cause. It'S too late is now. So, even though everything is pulled forward when it's all done, let it cool down and then we will flip upside down and shake it off. It will all translate to the back, because you've still curled all your hair. It'S just a lot easier when you pull it forward when it goes back. It'Ll have those curls in the back and then that just gives it just such a pretty curl. Now, if you're like me and your hair gets really frizzy, especially in the hot humid summer heat, i take then just a little bit more of the olaplex oil very little about that much. I don't emulsify it in my hands and i will run it through any spots that want to get frizzy, because my hair grows like a chia pet. Now, if you have fine hair, that you know needs a little more volume, i wouldn't really necessarily use any oil at the end, because that might weigh it down, but my hair, nothing can weigh my hair down, sometimes i'll leave it just like this, and sometimes i Will put a couple of extensions in which four piece right here and i'm going to put this right at the occipital bone on the back of the head has become my son got me. I like this four panel, a lot because it gives so much volume, even if it's in the back it's it creates like so much more hair in the front. It looks so pretty it's so pretty and it's so pretty like pulled back, and even if i wanted to kind of like clip the side and have it it's just like so long and mermaidy. I just love it and then there's other options. If i wanted to depending on not when it's hot in the summer, but i could also put like a couple panels on the side if i wanted to - but it's just too hot here, so i just wanted to show you this four panel in the occipital bone, Because you could see how quickly that went on all i did was part it put it in and boom it's like seriously so much hair.
