This how's it going up audience well welcome back to my channel today, I'm here with a new video today, I'm here to discuss a topic that has really been on my mind, a lot heavy lately and I was kind of iffy. If I want to come on a platform to talk about it, because I already talked about texture ISM before and this time, it's not a bit about texture, it's about something so stupid as far as length. Okay. So since I have changed my platform and I stopped doing daily vlogs to doing my Leo talks more often, I am starting to get a lot more hate comments and a lot more like just crazy. You know bashing emails and stuff like that. From a lot of you know, fake accounts, I can't say who it is if their profile picture can be of a man, but it's probably a woman leg. You never know who it really is. I just know that a majority of them are spam accounts and a lot of them have something to say about my hair now, for instance, the video that I talked about the Latino versus the african-american, all the way down to the Nick Cannon video any time I Talk about black women topics, I get the most hate comments and I can't say this um a lot of the abbeys and a lot of the verbage and the dialogue. They claim that to be black men, so the first thing that they say is: how can you speak on something when you're wearing other cultures, hair, you're wearing other ethnicities hair like - and I know you guys - have seen it in the comments, because so many of you Have been defending me like that's her hair, like so many of you have been commenting that and it's been by Matt post, where I can see like a thread of 10 15 conversations. Just on my person saying. Why are you wearing fake people here? If you believe this, why are you doing this? If you believe that - and it started to make me so mad - I started to leave the people. I started blocking people that said that, because one is the most ignorant statement that can never be made for one. Of course, everybody knows that this is my hair does, but two I just realized that people believe that black women cannot have long hair, and that is the furthest thing from the truth. Yeah. I I don't get it because there's so many women on social media there's so many women on YouTube that you can see, especially black women, with a great length of hair. So I don't understand the logic or I don't understand why people believe that a black woman, especially my complexion, would be where we've instead of my real hair, I decided to look it up to further the research and just try to reveal like why do people think That black women don't have hair and a lot of it is because of the leaves and the things of that sort like the wigs and all of that. But I think people fail to realize them a lot of times that we wear weave and waves of stuff majority of the times for some natural women. Like me, it is because of protective styling. We want to protect our hair underneath. I believe that we are women that we have many different textures. We have many different lips. We just have a lot of different things going on with our hair, like especially from birth, all the way up till now like when I came out of my mom's womb. I had a head full of hair, then, by the time I got to the house, all my hair was done. Then once I started growing up my hair texture, like we changed like we involved, like everything changes like for my relaxed ear to my doctor. Here I dealt with two different textures. I dealt with two different limbs and it's just it's sad to have to see that people really believe that we don't or we cannot grow a long hair, and my thing is: is that lip means nothing. Texture means nothing if you cannot handle it. If you cannot take care of it, the best type of hair is healthy here. So, if you cannot take care of your hair short, you most definitely not gon na be able to take care of your hair. If you can't take care of your hair, pinky you're, not gon na, be able to take care of your hair curly like it's no way possible, because the the main thing is that you have to know and understand how to take care of your hair. Now a lot of people and I research a question that is asked a lot on Google and the question was: is that why don't black women have long hair? There are so many videos that you can see on YouTube of how black women can grow. Their hair grow your hair longer, you can take biotin. I see the rice Warner routine. I'Ve seen all this stuff and, to be quite honest, like I really don't believe in any of it, I don't believe in none of those. I honestly believe that people have to realize it's not how to grow. Your hair long is how to retain the lint that you have in order for your hair to keep growing now in order to retain the lift one of the things that I found out, because I looked at a lot of scholarly journals. Why black women hair? Do not grow or while black women cannot retain their hair and they stay black. Women are unable to retain or maintain a certain length of hair because of their hair being of a texture that is very kinky that can often be dry and brittle, and when your hair is dry and brittle and you're not taking care of it properly, your hair Tends to break off, and that's one of the reasons why they're unable to retain a lid now. Another reason why some people cannot retain length in case they want to get their hair long instead of hopping on a biotin or hopping on the bandwagon of some of these people that are using y'all for your money and you're, not seeing any growth, you have to Start looking at what you're eating and what you're consuming into your body, that's another thing you want to have all the vitamins vitamins, A vitamin C, vitamin C like all of those matter like they really really matter and I'll, make sure that I'll insert all of those. So you can make sure that you're consuming that into your body and the third thing that I found that was most important and it was not biotin. The third reason why they say african-american women are unable to retain. I'M not saying you know, grow long hair because we can't grow long. African-American women can have long hair period. The reason why a lot of african-american women cannot retain that length is because of our our deficiency is very prominent in our community, and that was one of the leading causes to why african-american women is unable to keep a long lift in here because of their are They believe that that is a reason why we cannot keep out here at a certain length and I'm going to read on one of the journals that I have read today and it said Sonny showed that our deficiency anemia is the most common nutritional deficiency worldwide. According to Web MD, a review of 40 years of research shows that iron deficiency has a much closer lead to hair loss than most doctors realize, and it may be the key to why you're not restoring your hair length. We believe our deficiency can cause hair to be very brutal, very dry and prone to breakage, coupled with that styling manipulation, poor hair care, chemical treatments and poor nutrition. The hair is not going to be, in optical shape, to maintain the right, pH, moisture and elasticity to keep it from breaking and shedding unnecessarily, and it will be less likely for their hair to even grow longer. Okay from all the journals that I've seen and all the journals that I've read, that is one of the main reasons why they are saying that african-american women are unable to grow here like for those who have our problems, and it's not a meant that a lot Of African American women have iron deficiency, so as far as the the nutrition part and the things that they say, we need vitamin A helps. Your hair stay, moisturize and grow. You know the sources of that is sweet, potatoes, carrots, spinach, killed and things of that sort. Vitamin B as well helps carry oxygen and nutrients to your scalp and it's used as a growth aid. Okay, vitamin C it's needed to make collagen and it can help prevent your hair from aging. Okay, vitamin E helps prevent stress and boost your hair growth. Okay. So a good source of that would be like sunflower seeds, Armus finish and avocados all right. It'S one of the major causes of hair loss, so the best form or sources for that is clams oysters, eggs, rent meats in spinach, mineral and zinc can improve your hair growth as well. For those who have our deficiency problems - and that is from oysters beef and pumpkin seeds, that can help that, so you guys for us to you know, fix the problem in case people are trying to go. Take care of things like a lot of those things that you're consuming into your body as far as these pills as far as these chemicals or whatever you may have just make sure you try natural things. First, before you jump on the bandwagon and pay $ 30 for some pills that have you broken out, shutting like a dog and doing all this other stuff, it is a myth and it's a very bad myths that black women cannot grow long hair like I really Really want us to change that, because it is just not true. It'S not true. It may be hard for some black women to retain that growth and retain that lift because of our texture and how I here can become dry. Our hair can become brutal and it's so prone to damage so easily when we don't take care of it. So please make sure we're taking care of out here. I think. Is it so sad to me it's because my hair is not even as long as some of these other black women that I see their hair is extremely longer than mine like and I'm just like, and then lipton. My hair is right now, y'all. Consider that long way look at people in my family. Look at my friends. Look at my peers, like they have extremely long hair. So I feel like it's such a slap in the face to hear other people say especially black men saying get though other cultures off your hair and we cannot grow it and just said: can we stay home today? Try something new tonight! This drink got me feeling right.

Niara Wilson: Your turning into a black activist channel and I’m here for it

beautiful blacksoul: Wrong. I have hip length 4C FINE natural hair that I've actually began to cut because my buns have became a bit too heavy. Imma brag about it though

Sierra Saige: Jealousy is really a disease, they try to force us to hate ourselves because they secretly envy all of our characteristics ‍♀️.

20something: Sadly a lot of black women/girls were not taught how to take care of their God given hair and view it as challenging.

Abijah A: I’m a chocolate woman with 3b/c natural hair to the small of my back. When I tell you that I’ve lost count of the IGNORANT comments I’ve gotten from black people since childhood saying I have a weave. Every other guy I’ve met ends up in shock when they find out my hair is real. It’s super stupid and I’m truly over the bull! All the black women in my circle has hair past their shoulders. Smh Let black women live! Ugh Love your videos.

Thee Mademoiselle: That’s weird I don’t get many of those type of hate comments lols. So odd, they don’t be trying me.

NICE NEESHA: It's crazy to me that when anyone praises black women for whatever reason they get hate. Society does not want black women on top or to be recognized. And that's one of the reasons I walk with my head held high with my kinky, coily crown poppin. Do you Leah! My hair isn't as long as yours yet but people of all races have asked me if my hair is mine. I'm like damn, why this can't be mine. But I smile and act complamented.

Nmendenh 2017: Great break down! Length and retention are two different things. Diet and genetics play a large part in health too. I have iron deficiency anemia, I never knew how it affected your hair so greatly. Very educational

Toni Toussaint: Black woman can grow their hair!!!! If you neglected your hair then it won’t grow. I’ve neglected my hair for so long but after constantly moisturizing (everyday) my hair and sealing in the moisture it’s the longest it’s ever been. I’m almost at bra length. Woot woot to me!

Darrion B: A lot of people don't think that dark skin women can aslo have 3c hair but if it was a light skin girl with 3c hair people would believe it , people are ignorant when it comes to hair texter and skin tone

soraya .e: Black women generally don't have long hair because it's the most fragile and it shrinks up. However, what's wrong with short or medium length hair anyways as long as it's healthy and cute.

Leah Gordone: Anytime I ruffle some feathers regarding another race the first insult! "YoU WeAr ThEiR hAiR tHo!" I'm OVER IT!

neshaunda c: Thank you for saying "good hair" is healthy hair. I had to talk to my family about saying this especially around my younger nieces and nephews who has a variety of kinks and coils

LilLexis: I have 4C hair and I believe that many things contribute in the growth of natural hair. At first, I thought that I couldn't grow my hair, but my mother and sister have about bra strap hair or longer. I'm honestly OBSESSED with my hair❤️learning about porosity, density, reading product labels, ingredients etc is very interesting to me so now, I'm even considering starting my own natural hair care line once I'm done with collegealong with my career. I'm hoping to be sporting a big afro by then

Paint Me Pretty: I use a $7 daily vitamin, and I wash, deep condition and moisturize weekly simplicity is really what's best for our hair. I get a lot of questions about how my hair grew so fast after big chopping and its because I leave it the heck alone!

me_not_me_2008: My relaxed hair is 22"...I'm not worried about the opinions of brainwashed men ‍♀️

Nmendenh 2017: Keep doing what you’re doing Leah! I love these videos. Also let’s not forget the loc community! We’re drapping over here baby!

Katoria Queendom: I am anemic at times. It never stopped my hair from growing, but it wasn't as soft or as manageable as I wanted it. When I eat right it's not a problem. As far as these men girl they will down us no matter what. Even if you wear your natural hair they will find something negative to say. That's just the easiest low blow because they know a lot of black women wear weave. It's usually for protective styling though. That's the part they don't get.

Shanelle Warner: This is honestly the most stupidest and oldest saying about black women . In 2019 and here on out can we let this saying go.

Joycelyn: I liked how you pulled out scholarly journals to educate us!

Maddygurl12304996: I honestly believe that it’s an issue that people praise and prefer looser curl patterns over kinkier textures.....I always tell everyone that every curl type has pros and cons ‍♀️. I’m also tired of ppl assuming that if you’re light skin you have long hair. I’ll never forget how my old friend who is light skin was approached by a guy and he was telling her how her hair was so long and pretty and how he could tell she was mixed. Whole time she was wearing weave and whole time my hair is much longer than hers

Monique Martin: I don't understand why there's a problem with black women wearing weave or wigs. Wigs have been around for centuries regardless of color or culture. It's all about changing hairstyles and protecting our own hair, not because black women cant grow hair. Our hair can grow long but when its natural its hard for people to see the length unless we flat iron it.

CYKHI101: For those who think black women can't grow long hair check out the glamtwinz

Simply Caroe: We also have shrinkage When my hair is stretched it's down to my back but when shrinkage visits it looks like a teeny tiny afro

Nett. Michelle: Omg, I’ve been having this same convo lately! I love wearing wigs as a protective style but I straighten my natural hair about 2-3 times a year. When I wear my natural hair people always think it’s weave bc it’s very thick and healthy and lower back length. I just don’t understand where this myth came from bc i’ve always had long hair but this is the longest and healthiest it’s been bc I’ve really learned how to take care of my hair myself. I’m more happy about my hair being the healthiest it’s been rather than the length anyway but it is annoying that people are shocked that my hair is long as it is ‍♀️ & that people think black women that wear weave or wigs natural hair can’t be long.

Lauren Lewis Grief Coach Practitioner: Our hair is very fragile, because of the coil, moisture, Moisture, moisture. Diet is very important! Mom's family are darker skin people, but have soft fine hair with colors of dark brown to red. People always ask if I'm Dominican or from the Island because of my hair texture. My dad family are more lighter skin with light brown, a few brown/dark skin people with long curly, course, gray eye, green eyes, hazel, with long hair. Dark skin and light have long hair. One of my younger cousin have hair pass hair behind. ( Locks) I guess they think natural locks are extensions? Girl, don't get upset, not everyone knows everything! the sad part is that people make uninformed silly comments, without first researching the topic. It's called stereotyping.

TheFactsAccordingToGabbie1791: Lies, it just that most black girls/women don't know how to properly take care of their hair but anyway......gurl you almost at 100k yay

princedreadhead88: No matter what I love my black queens tbh I don’t understand what is all the hates about .

Veronica 484: I have long hair. I just have a lot of shrinkage so you can't see the full length.

NailedbylilyJ: Sounds like an ex of mine with that ignorant mentality. Mind you his mom and sister wear more fake hair than me, his momma bald headed ‍♀️ whew lol.

Connect 2thaSpirit: Man look its unfortunate that it is coming to this with our men them trolling and being mean for no reason. Blk women u are wonderful beautiful smart and resilient, and I know it would sound so much better coming from a man but its true no matter the sender. Another thing is time. U cant rush ur hair it will grow out. Treat it well. extra moisture low manipulation. Don't pull ur sides sleep well and let time tell the story of ur beautiful hair..

Kia: Leah a lot of black people are unaware of how to take care of our types of hair, it's a continued miseducation...also of you look most black Americans fall under the American poverty line so the diet needed for hair growth and retention is terrible, can't afford vitamins there are many reasons. However the misunderstanding of shrinkage so many reasons. But once more it's not about having long hair it's about healthy hair and can you speak on the long hair obsession of black women because it's ridiculous

Christie Brooks: I will say that I do think biotin does work but it doesn't work in isolation. A proper diet and adequate exercise really does help in growing and maintaining longer hair. You're not going to have good results if you don't put in the work. So a diet of fast food and sugar isn't going to help. I eat pretty well (no meat, cut down on diary but that's mainly for the ance) and lots of water. I'm trying to exercise on a more regular basis.

Feisty Pisces: Rice water works! It makes your hair THICK but it's like a protein treatment you must put that mositure back in. I definitely believe vitamins, excercise and a well-rounded diet definitely make a difference great video

Stephaine Gabriella: I believe that hair has been believed to be a sign of beauty by society standards & people hate on any kind of hair that is not perfectly straight & long . I personally have had super long curly and I was constantly told my has was unkept & ugly ... People are just haters

jessica: Great video per usual! Also. Isn’t Biotin a B vitamin? I’m pretty sure I read that in my bio lab book If that’s the case then biotin does work because it’s a b vitamin. Biotin worked for me. ‍♀️

Jonita Zean: Bruhhh I remember when I straightened my hair and this one mixed girl couldn’t believe it was my hair she wanted to say nah u mixed with something at that point I had to walk away cuz I woulda slapped her

Enyatta Landreaux: They STILL using this insult in 2019 . Genetics do make up like 75% of your hair texture and especially GROWTH. Let's be real every one not go have waist length or butt length hair. Everyone hair growth cycle is different some have longer growth cycles than others. But every Black woman DO and CAN grow hair! Ppl are so lame

DEDEXGAMES: ❤️❤️❤️Thank you so much for doing this video Leah! I had IDA for years and although when i was younger my hair was to my butt, after my big chop it was significantly harder to retain length because of the lack of iron in my body. My hair currently is thick and curly to the middle of my back, and maintaining the length can be a challenge so i do condition a lot and use protective styles. I also use vitamin e & a oils, argon oils and try to eat foods rich in iron in my diet. I even use the zinc shampoos and take vitamins because i know how important it is to keep the body healthy inside to grow the hair. I just think that people who say we can't grow long hair is crazy, trust me its possible.

Sydney Ayee: And this is why I always encourage my clients to take care of their hair and stop perpetuating stereotypes ! The first thing people come for is our hair it never fails

Tyson McKie: I'm a black man & I feel bad that my side of the community continues to perpetuate that dumbass rhetoric. Also, I agree with everything you said Leah, however I've actually tried the rice water method myself. I drenched my hair, threw in some cornrows, wrapped it up & the next day I saw a difference in just that one day. I definitely see what you're seeing about people on here scamming people tho, thats why I had no problem trying the RW method, if it doesn't work, at least I have leftover rice to cook with lol

Snail Art: Please keep these videos coming. I appreciate your honesty and I've been binging your videos. I honestly can't understand all the hate you get just for talking about hair. It's sad.

rose violet: It's so sad. I've been natural for two years and I've already stressed to my mom that I'm worried if I wear my hair stretched in public someone will cut it or something. I know I shouldn't worry, but yeah. I bet if a black woman with floor length hair flatironed walked out in public people would look at her like she is out of her mind because they would think it is a weave! SMH.

Creole Belle: The reason why is because you didn't really see it alot in the past..I'm black and I really didn't think it was capable for most of us until I ACTUALLY did it! I love when people think my hair is a weave and I get to show them its not!!

Mariah McDaniel: I also hate how people say, “Oh. Since you are straightening your hair, you are appropriating another culture’s hair.” Like first of all, straight hair doesn’t belong to just one culture. Secondly, there are black people with naturally straight hair. We come in all types, shapes, sizes, and looks. We are a diverse people. Thirdly, WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT WITH OUR HAIR! Periodt.

Beautiful leaves: I hate when my sister and I wear our hair out and people are like "oh my god, y'all hair is so long....are u mixed?" Like sis no, and it's not even that long to me. My mom's hair was down her back, just beautiful and natural. She cut it all off after she had my little brother, she said it was to much. Now it's grown back and would probably be back to her previous length but she actually cuts it quite often. It's all about caring for your hair properly.

tanneranner: I have a full head of healthy beautiful hair. I've gone through every phase after letting go of CC, but it's popping now. Still finna wear my weaves and protective styles. They can go, the hair can stay. Lol

Melanin Poppin: I had no idea of the iron deficiency and hair loss. I've been anemic my entire life. My hair was never short unless cut but never extremely long like my terminal length always was a couple of inches above bra strap. I learned to leave the headache alone a long time ago with the need for extremely long hair. As you have stated healthy hair is key. I'm big with my mental & physical health as well as my hair's health. Great dialogue keep up the good work on your platform!

♥BlkandBeautiful❤️: I had to change my diet for my hair texture to to change. It had something to do with my hormones. I always thought my hair was 4c but it’s actually 3c (small amount)/4A. My problem is retaining it. But I forgot that I was on keto, so my hair was probably thinning. But now it’s getting better. I’m going to try taking more vitamins.

Anthony Johnson: I'm a white man who dated all races of women, my first wife was white and my second wife who I'm married to now, my black wife hair is alot longer than my ex-wife, my black wife has been wearing her natural for almost a year now, and I love it, she stop using these straightners in her hair, I love her very thick beautiful very long hair which is down her back, my wife is very dark skin and the most beautiful woman on this planet

Summers Lotus: SIS,keep up the GREAT work !!! You are TRUE to WHO you are, don't change!! These are YOUR thoughts on issues that effect YOU and people who looks you!! Ignorance is bliss!! LOL...

Brie Lax 44: I love your channel. You’re so beautiful. I agree with your content in this video. I also hate when some BW encourage people into thinking that their hair is long because of some ancestral mixture. Also side note, you have European women who have a hard time growing long hair. This is why weaves are usually bought from Asian countries not Europe. Some Asian women have can grow long hair easier than most other races. People need to do research before talking.

Yochana Irie: Yes the fact that this ignorant thought still exists crazy. Like when people got stuff to say about my short hair, it is always annoying because I chose to have short hair. My hair grows super long but I choose to cut it because I like short hair. It is crazy how these thoughts to fulfill these societal standards still pass down to kids too. For example my goddaughter saw that I went bald and told me that I need to get some straight hair and put it on my head. I was not just insulted but I was sad that she felt that way because her mom has been trying to teach them to love their hair. It's crazy that we still have to fight these things.

Just Toya: I am about 4-5 inches from waist length and I'm a dark skin black woman! My hair is 4a, in the front 4b in the center, and 3c in the back. My hair is beautiful and i have alot of it.

tanneranner: Those Black men hate Black women. They love caping for their captors

Chimiri88: I used to have mid back length hair as a 4c natural, but I had a minor set back when I allowed someone else to do my hair. I see sooooo many black women with long hair (natural/relaxed) everyday, and I think so many people are still refusing to believe it because of ignorance.

VERYNICOLE: Great information I love how you always come with the facts!

Lauren O.: Thank you for all of these points it's all about learning your own hair and figuring out what it likes and needs. Research

Thee Mrs Thanos: Lol. Why are they worried about wats on our head tho?? Let people live!!!! If I want to wear a different wig everyday... if I wanna wear my natural hair everyday. Dont worry about it!! Black women are always under fire for being TOO black or not being black enough..... its a constant pressure to constantly try to be the epitome of the ultimate black woman. Im just going to be me....period.

Arlene Augusta Hair: Let me not get started on white people with “black hair!” I’m a stylist and I have had to deal with them and they refuse to go to white stylists because they don’t know what to do with their hair. We have had a mom come to the salon frustrated and telling us to fix her daughter’s hair. She wasn’t mixed at all and the mom was in tears. The mom didn’t understand why her daughter’s hair came out the way it did. There is a guy who is white and he gets relaxers. You will not believe the stuff that goes on in the hair industry. I don’t even say black hair or white hair anymore because at this point, I’m just over. As far as wigs and extensions, I’m over people thinking that it’s only black women doing it. There are so many white women doing it and when I say they pay hundreds of dollars in one setting to put it in their hair, they come out of the pockets. Black men have no clue about women’s hair unless they’re actually in the industry. A conversation with a Black male stylist and a conversation with just a regular black man off the streets is completely different. They just simply need to stay in their lane and deal with the industry they’re in and allow us who are in the industry to do our jobs.

Corporate MiMi: Love your videos, Leah yessss to the scholarly articles.

Toastyflakes: I love your channel! Ignore the hate girl!!!!

Maldita seantia: I've been loving your content these last couple of months

Victoria Ieshia: I love the shirt on you! I have iron deficiency anemia and my levels are better now. My natural hair is 3c 4a and a little 4b and I’m a light skinned black woman. I was at mid back length before I cut it in August 2018. I’m at bra strap length and almost back to mid back. I’m so tired of people thinking that black people can’t grow their own hair. Protective styles can help you to keep your hands out of your hair and to retain length.

History High with Lisa Marrie: I have been anemic for more than 10 years and I still retain length. I think black women don't retain length is solely due to over manipulation, over use of products and excessively trimming the ends even if they don't need it. I decided to relax my natural hair 2 years ago and after a few months big chopped cutting all of my waist length hair. Now my hair is grazing mid back 2 years later because I rarely ever touched it in 2 years.

Glam Getter: Shrinkage is also very annoying in the sense that it’s hard to see length. My hair is like 5 inches when shrunken. I stopped getting relaxed 2 years ago and people keep telling me to go back because my hair is not growing.. I always have to stretch it out to prove them wrong

ChaniyahMonae: Leah this is off topic but......can you do a storytime about the first time you went to a frat party?

IndiaMahogany: Dont stop these Leahtalks, I love them period!

airbmikal: Much love and support sis!

Huhnahmai: I have an iron deficiency and I used to have a full size hair line. Now that I’m in my teens that area is finer. I take very special care of that area and taking omega, iron pills, vitamins d, and multivitamins and msm and vitamin C help. And massaging my scalp with JMCO(high in omega) everyday or every other. Now my hair is supper thick and is getting thicker and growing 0.5 inches a month or . Like it’s supposed too.

Sweet Empress: I never understood why our Black men ride us so hard over something like hair. There are so many other issues going on in our community that we could be talking through and working on but hair is always being brought up. I feel like it's a low hanging, back handed insult at this point and I just don't understand it. Truth be told, most Black women have a head full of hair underneath wigs and weaves. We wear them to protect our hair since it's so delicate. Anyways, keep doing you, Sis! Great job as always. Wishing you the best ALLLLLLL 2019!

kay Jack: This is so insane. I know alot of black women with long healthy hair. Hell right in my own family.

Vanessa Shimoni: I've always thought that hair grows at the same rate for most people. The difference with Black women is that their hair is more delicate and brakes more easily and the tightly curl strands do not show the true length because of shrinkage. This is just plain common sense.

NatureVeast: And I think it has to do with genetics also. I feel like silky straight hair is easier to keep moisturized because there’s less curves to travel through on the hair shaft. My white friends were on drugs drank never ate healthy addicted to caffeine had a HORRIBLE diet And STILL had long thick shiny hair lol and still grew at least 1-2” of hair a month. Idk hair is a weird thing

NatureVeast: And now everyone just now starting to appreciate natural hair and want to act all goddly about shit we should already be doing anywyas ‍♀️ I been natural since 2010 and even when I had a relaxer I still had mid back length hair but I never looked down on another woman about it ‍♀️

💎Emerald’s Honey Comb 10k 🍯: LOVE YOUR CHANNEL PERIODDDDDDDDDD

Melvyn Carrot: Anyone can grow Long hair if you follow a healthy diet and exercise, it doesn’t matter if you are black , white , brown or yellow. Unless you have an unhealthy lifestyle.

Jae Thomas: I normally don't comment,. And I know this video is old but you said iron is one of the main reasons black women struggle to maintain length and I know from personal experience that is so true. I was severely anemic and I didn't know and my hair would shed and break so bad and my curls had no elasticity and nothing seemed to help then I went to the Dr and was treated for my anemia I had to get blood transfusions and iron transfusions but I feel so much better now and my hair is so much healthier and easier to maintain it retains moisture better it has better definition and it doesn't shed like it use to. So that is definitely something women should be aware of

Alyssum: I have pretty long hair and I’m full black people used to ask me if my hair was fake or if I was mixed honestly was funny though

kenya robinson: I hate this misconception. I have thick 4C hair that is waist length —you can see the picture on my instagram @kenyacannn for proof. I only use 3 products and my hair is flourishing — edges too. ‍♀️

Stasia Bri: Your hair is beautiful and so is your complexion Queen.

wiz lady: Its ridiculous me and both my sister have a head full of hair.I wish I can post a picture my sister's hair is past the middle of her back.Yes I love short hair also we do it best. Thank you sweetie I think Black men are the most uninformed concerning this subject.I am a hairdresser by trade I now many ladies that do to much to often when they leave it for months at a time it grows beautiful although texture ect plays a major part in caring for maintaining length. It's their problem you have beautiful hair.

ChiChi: Love this video!!! Please keep doing you

destiny hicks: Hair grows every month you’re just not retaining length cus your hair is breaking off

Mai: Flipping my back length hair seductively.

K K: Our hair is a little bit more sensitive and prone to breakage. But that doesn't mean that we can't grow long hair. I have hypothyroidism and Iron deficiency that's why I had problems growing my hair long or retaining the length. But now that I know that, I'm on a journey to grow my hair longer. I know how to take care of it, my mama taught me when I was young. So I'm ready for this process.

Christina C.: Also...our hair grows to the sky, not the ground. Thus, people don’t understand that a big ole Afro means length when straight. Weave and braids can harm your natural hair if one does not give their natural hair a break. Last point, if you wear weave/wigs 11 months out of the year, your hair has no chance...just saying‍♀️

Bria Lynn: Omg I’m anemic...no wonder i couldn’t grow my hair long after 4 years. Im growing locs now but I think I’m gonna take my iron pills!

Lakisha Rhodes: Thanks for this video very informative ♥️

Tonya Bullock: My hair is to the middle of my back and has been as long as I can remember. My mom hair is to her butt and always have been!

Lisa Landry: Where I live I'm seeing more and more ladies wearing their own healthy hair. But I'm still seeing way too many ladies that dont know how to care for their hair or dont want to know. And they are wearing weaves and wigs to achieve what they aren't growing naturally. Also seeing way to many wearing tacky looking weaves and wigs even though the selections available today have improved so much

Lepimppluggz: Bruh i’ve seen a black girl having her hair on her knees Y’all actually think our hairs short? Well you wrong lol I cut my hair and it grew crazy SMh ‍♀️!!

1 2: You did post my reply to your comment beloved. Didnt mean to rub you the wrong way. I think you are a beautiful woman from head to toe. I even follow you on social media cause i am a fan. But i just believe that all my beautiful sisters look better with there natural curly unrelaxed hair.... The ideas of wigs being a protective style idk about that. I have spent a lot of time in africa and the women over there have very long, healthy, natural hair and most of them did not wear wigs. They used a lot of natural products they made their self so that might be a factor. But i dont expect my black women of america to do the same because life is a lot diff in america. But. Knowing the history or perms and weave yes I have a strong dislike for it on my black women is because i know their own those things came into place because white people said our natural growing has was not accepted in the community... I am truly sorry if i did said anything to make you have any ill feelings towards me. You are magic like all black women. Yall are the original women of the world because everything this earth has come from black women. I just love to see yall in yall natural state because in my eyes that yall GOD STATE.

givemeconversation: As Always Ms. Leah You came Thru with a BANG!!! No shade but the "warm blooded" females in my family have the longest hair?!?! Hummm; where as those that are always cold their hair  stops around the shoulder.  Also, 'TheChicNatural' on YT said that this is the longest her hair has ever been & she accounts her "vegan" lifestyle as the answer... You are on to something here!!!  I must research & see what my numbers are and start retaining my length.

Aniya Marie: As a kid, you don’t know how to respond to questions like, “Are you mixed?” when someone is staring at your hair. But when you hit your teenage years and/or adulthood, something in you snaps. I haven’t had anyone ask me if I’m mixed in a few years now but I know I am quick to get angry if another black woman with long hair is asked if she’s mixed. As long as we take good care of our hair, we can let it grow down to our ankles. Other than that, us wearing weave or wigs does not mean you can silence us black women on issues that harm us in any way. Just like you guys can send hate messages to this beautiful woman, you can take the time out of your schedule to do some research on how we take care of our hair as black women.

Kendreya Howell: Oh yes we can! Dont let the shrinkage fool you some of us have ass length hair

Ann Dee Cosita: I don’t understand where this stereotype or the length obsession come from. I have relatives past and present who have or have had waist length hair. Some of my relatives had long hair and cut it because they got sick of dealing with it. I have had people ask or assume my hair is fake . That should be another video. I can’t stand people asking me if my hair is real. Why is it your business?

Q_Vibz TV: Jae Majett has long beautiful hair as well she’s also on YouTube

Beautiful Tay: We still having debates on hair? After how many people went natural and grew their hair long... child please

kelly Goodman: Two years ago a white girl asked if my natural hair was a wig . When I said no she looked at me like "yeah sure ". This was when my hair got cut and before that I had waist length hair. I can't imagine what she would have said to me then
