Straightening Tailbone Length Hair At Home | Silk Press On Long Hair From Start To Finish

Hi Guys!

In this video I will be flat ironing at home from start to finish. For those of us who choose to stay home, just know that you are still able to achieve a salon quality silk press at home using your own products. I love straightening extremely long hair as I had to learn on myself years ago. I have had my share of bad hair days so I just want to make sure you don't have to go through the same mistakes I did when silk pressing long hair at home from start to finish.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial on how to flat iron natural hair from start to finish. I personally love watching silk press videos but I hardly ever see any silk press on long hair at home videos so I really do hope you enjoy and/or learn something. Let me know what you think about this video on how to silk press on long hair from start to finish and give it a thumbs up if you liked it.

Hi guys welcome back to another video, i'm tiana, and this is tiana's channel and today i'm going to be flat ironing my sister's hair. She has a very long hair as you can see, and she is straight out of the shower she's washed and conditioned her own hair, so i'm just going to go ahead and blow dry and flat iron it for her. So, first i'm going to start out with the heat protectant, i'm just using a garnier fructis heat protectant. These are all of her products since i'm in her bathroom, the flat iron i'll be using is by revlon, and it goes up to 455 degrees. It'S a really good flat iron and i'm not sure where this blow dryer is from, but i'm pretty sure you can find a good quality one at your local sally's. So after i finish spraying the heat protectant all over her hair, i just go ahead and brush it in to distribute it throughout all of her hair strands with the denman brush and my sister just got her right ear pierced. So if you see me being a little slow in that area, i'm just trying to be gentle and delicate. So i don't hurt her, even though i did hit it a couple times, but anyways i've gone ahead and edited out all of the detangling, because i don't want this video to be too long. I feel like it's long enough, so i went ahead and took all of that out for you guys so now, i'm just taking the blow dryer and my denim brush and just pulling on her hair, pulling it down and stretching the hair shaft just to create some Tension i have the blow dryer set to the hottest it can get, so it is pretty warm and i will link all of the products that i'm using in the description below, for you guys. Also one more thing before i go because i don't plan on talking throughout this whole video i'll, probably just pop in here and there, but make sure you're keeping that blow dryer moving, because it's hot so make sure you want to make sure that you're distributing the Heat throughout the whole hair shaft, because mini story time when i was in college - and i was doing this for the first time on myself - i burnt my hair off like in a straight line like like the smell, was burnt everything my hair was in my brush And i was just i just had this look of shock on my face, so that's something that i've learned and that's something i want to pass along to you guys when showing you how to straighten your hair at home. This is probably common sense, but for me back then this was not so there you go, but that was like almost a decade ago and yeah. So if my sister knew this, she probably wouldn't be letting me do her hair right now. So thanks we learn from our mistakes, so just make sure you keep that blow dryer moving, just as you would a flat iron. It all makes sense, and one last thing before i hop off, if you guys don't mind taking two and a half seconds to just. Please subscribe to my channel, i'm really trying to hit a 1000 subscribers, and i would really appreciate it if you guys were able to help me do that so anyways, you guys can enjoy this music i'll pop back in later. If i have two cents to add and yeah just enjoy me, oh so so me, oh, so me, oh so so so, and this is how it looks when it's completely blown out, so you can really get an idea of the length that she has right now. It is tailbone length and she and i go back and forth on who has longer hair, but lately she's had the lead when my hair is stretched. It comes to my tailbone as well, but i do have a lot more shrinkage than she does so now at this point, i'll be doing the first pass with a flat iron and have the flat iron set to 450 degrees, and i will be doing the chase Method with the rat tail comb, since this is just the first pass, it's silky, but don't expect it to be at its silkiest point easy! Oh! So so! Oh, oh! So me, oh! So so so now that i've finished the first pass, i'm just brushing it and prepping it to get ready to trim her hair. She does not want a lot cut off and i'm sure you have also noticed the discoloration at the ends of her hair. But this is from when she bleached her hair a long time ago. Also, i recorded myself sectioning her whole entire head and trimming each section, but i've only included some sections like around the top of her head. I did include a closer shot of me, cutting it straight across the bottom, so you guys are able to see that, and i would say this is not the trim that she needed, but this is the trim that she wanted. So this is what i did for her, so so so right now, i'm doing the second pass and usually with the second pass. Some people like to put a little curl into it, but my sister likes her hair bone straight. So this is what i did with the second pass. I just went and did a straight pass through the whole entire thing, easy, oh! So so so so, once i finish the last pass, i just touch up her ends, one last time with the flat iron, and here is a before image. Just so, you can see how her hair looked before, and then this is what her hair looked like after it's a lot silkier, it's got some movement to. It looks a lot healthier and if you want any more added shine, you can spray it with hair gloss, but that is pretty much it for this video. I hope you guys enjoyed. I did my best to stay out of the way of the camera. This is not my first time straightening hair at home, but it is my first time recording it. So i hope you guys enjoyed please be sure to subscribe. I post every single sunday on this channel and other than that. I will see you guys next week. Bye guys, you

Savory Sweet Stormy: This was so thorough and relaxing to watch, gorgeous hair. just subscribed!

Missphotogenic Baby: More than one pass is too much, if you use a boar bristle brush and slow down you’ll achieve a silky straight look with one pass. Her hair came out nice btw

Ronda Smith: This video is so NEEDED because I have hair this length and since the pandemic I've been doing my ponytail roller set (root only) silk presses at home and it wasn't easy. Thankfully I've mastered it now so I'm looking forward to the fall/winter to do them once a month again. Beautiful results so thank you very much and I'm here for the one pass

Hazel E: So pretty!! I love silk presses!! Her hair is so long and pretty. You did a BOMB job on her hair!! I'm a straight natural and I do my own silk presses because they are so easy to do and my hair always comes out silky bone straight.

KEESHcake: Her hair is gorgeous

Here for It: 450 degrees? Why? That is way too hot. You can get her hair BONE straight at under 400 degrees with one pass if you improve your technique. From the looks of things, she probably only needs about 380-385 degrees. Maybe less.

suga bay: Sis got long hair , very nice . Relaxing to watch
