Scissors down, I go in a fight y'all right now, like I really want to fight. Whoever gave you that advice tell them tell them to drop their address, because I want to fight that light. Hey guys! Welcome to my youtube channel. My name is Eugenia Kelsie and if you're new here, hopefully by the end of this video, I can convince you to tap on that subscription button. Yes, yes, pretty, please, okay! So I've been getting lots of questions. Lots of emails, GM's comments. What'S up, I don't know how y'all are getting my whatsapp number, but basically today, I just came out here to give y'all 10 reasons 10 as to why your natural hair may not be growing. So if you know how to fix them, then you know how to grow your hair. So let's get to the roots of your hair problems, like literally the roots, let's start from the growth cycle, for you to understand how hair grows. Let'S take one minute to understand the natural hair cycle just one minute. I promise the natural hair cycle starts with the antigen, which is a growing face. Hair emerges from that follicles. It begins to grow for about two to seven years. The longer your anagen phase, the longer your hair would grow, some people have longer antigen face and their hair can grow for up to ten years, others how shorter faces, which is below the average and their hair, can only grow up to about two years. Although your antigen face is mostly genetics, there are things that you could do to increase or extend your antigen face, and I will show you how to do that in a bit in this video. The next cycle is a catagen face, which is a transitional stage of your hair, and it lasts for about ten days. This is how one your hair detaches from the dermal papilla and goes to your telogen phase, which is the rest stage of your hair. The telogen phase for about two to three months now, if your hair hasn't grown in about three months, then you know you're making some of the mistakes that I'm about to talk about, and we could go ahead and fix that after the telogen phase, a new hair Emerges from the follicle and pushes out the ODE, hair and a whole. The whole growth cycle starts again now. This doesn't mean that the hair you already grew is lost like you're, the gross like I was theoretical. Practically you don't see, people with long hair suddenly become involved because their hair reached the telogen phase and other hair. It'S fall out as this gross like hole. So just you don't see that people who have long hair unless they decide to cut it, will always have long hair, and this is because 85 % of your hair is always always in the antigen face. God is so wonderful. He does not want to see me coming around being bald over here, so he put 85 % of her hair in the antigen face, and then 15 percent is always an intelligent face, which is why your hair would always shed. Now you have to be with a decrease of shedding shedding is normal, I'm going to be using my phone because I made like the list here just to make sure I don't forget anything and leave any details behind. So I keep telling people this. The first reason why you're, not your hair, isn't growing is because you're taking advice from white hair stylists - I know you're like, but I'm not I'm watching you right now, a black youtuber and I have other black youtubers that I subscribe to. Okay, so tell me how'd, you know about split ends. Do you know how split ends looks on 4c here chances? Are you don't? You know how split ends looks on straight hair. You know it's that white little thingy at the ant's of your hair. You know how it looks like on Indian hair. You know how it looks like on curly hair, but do you know how split ends looks on 4c air? No ma'am, you don't so you're taking advice from Hair Stylist, stop cutting your hair! Stop the average person's hair grows about half an inch a month. So let's say in six months: your hair grew about three inches and you combed it and you like it right point: five inches back off. So now we have two point: five inches and the blog that you're reading and telling you to cut your hair to cut off your split ends and you cut off one inch. Guess how much hair you have. You have 1.5 inch of hair left and that's the hair that you have in six months. So in twelve months, if you're lucky, you only have three inches of hair here, never go you're, never going to get to your waist length, hair that you want, because you keep cutting your hair cut your scissors down if your hair's really short just drop. Some of your hair, put on your hand, if you can't see through your hair, don't cut it if your hair is that shoulder length and um if you're like. If your hair is like shoulder length and you can't see through your t-shirt, do not cut your hair. Put the scissors away: your hair is fine, it's going to grow regardless, unless it's like really heat damage, stop cutting your hair. I have had many questions about people telling me that they've gotten advice about how to cut their hair every six and eight weeks. No! Stop the scissors down. I go in a fight y'all right now, like I really want to fight. Whoever gave you that advice tell them tell them to drop their address, because I want to fight them like yeah, like they're messing you guys up like stop cutting your hair reason number two, not moisturizing your hair, like I used to be guilty of this too. Like you put your braids on, you do protective styling and you take it out by the end of the month and that's the only time water touches your hair. Maybe what is she doing? Your hair needs water. It needs moisture for you to be able to thrive. Think about the hairs on your body and that, like you know, on the other parts of like the other parts of your body, you know how it grows a lot because, oh I mean I shouldn't assume, but I'm assuming they do shower and that part of your Hair is always getting water and you're, leaving it a bone, you're not tampering with it. So just like, why is my body hair growing, and my hair on my head is not growing. That'S the reason why it's not getting water and you're not leaving it alone, so leave your hair alone, feed it with water any water-based product. Just if you're Harrison breaks just put water on it. I don't care, I don't care if it's in twists, if it's in the wake make sure it like it's an easy either the lace, runoff just dig up lace front and put some water on it, spread the lace front and the lip water is gon na get To your hair, just make sure you're feeding your hair with water boom-boom-boom-boom also wanted to say that for those of y'all who use oils make sure you're moisturizing your hair before you put in enough oils, because oil, sorry sealants. So if your hands dry, your apply oil to it, your ceiling in the dryness and it's going to break so make sure your hair always have water. And then you go ahead and add oil. The number of times you decide to moisturize your hair really depends on you. If you want to go by what I do, I mainly moisturize my hair. Like every three days. I used to do it every day, but then I was every time I was going to bed. My pillow was wet and I was just like I can't. I can't do this no more, so I do it every three days in case you want to use me as a guide step number three for hair care, routine, baby, baby baby youtubers are supposed to be a guide like let's say you just first went natural, you Don'T know what to do, you can use me or other youtubers to guide you as to how to you know, do your hair, but you have to come to know your hair like for me. For instance, my hair do not like combs, so you're, rarely gon na me on my channel pertinent combs in my hair, and if I do it's going to be a white tooth comb and I never brush my hair when it's way. But I know I've seen other youtubers who find it easy to be able to detangle their hair, whilst in the shower. If I tried that I'm gon na be both like I'm gon na be bald like my chest right here, I'm just gon na kill me for sure yeah, I'm gon na be bald. Like my forehead, okay, I cannot detangle my hair whilst in the shower, and I cannot detangle my hair whilst it's dry either, so I have to blow-dry it and be able to detangle it. So I'm saying use youtubers as a guide to build your own hair care routine. Don'T if you're. If I give you advice like, if I tell you to use the threading method, aloof or dry method to detangle your hair and you do it and it doesn't work out for you don't do it, don't do it again and don't do whatever does not work for You please do not go back and do it almost all the time you're going to see me stretch my hair to measure it. That'S not because I'm like showing off, but it's because I like to measure my hair to see um what cells are being helpful. So if I didn't protective styling, let's I do braids and I measure my hair at the end of the braid and I lost length, I'm not going to go back and do that hairstyle again, because I know that hairstyle did not help me retain length. So, stick to the hair cells that helps you retain lens and make sure you're always measuring your hair whenever you take it out, if you lost hair, do not try that hair cell again, if you did it, the hair cell works for you and go ahead and Do that herself reason number four: you keep picking your hair. This is especially for mine, unilateral, my new newly Naturals to keep a little bit of growth and you go ahead and pick it out. Let'S say you want to put your hair in a throw, and then you pick it out. I know it's hard, but if you are gon na pick out your hair, like whenever you touch your hair, just remember you genius it massage your head, like you're, going to pick up your hair you're, always going to keep your hands in your hair. Just go ahead and massage it you're gon na get more circulation your scalp and that's actually going to help. You grow your hair and so picking it out to lose hair. So whenever you touch your hair is what eugenia said to massage and then you go in and then beside your hair, okay, okay, okay, reason: number five! Is your diet, like I really hate to be that person. You know when you ask someone you're like. Why is your skin so clear and you're like I? Don'T I just drink water and you're light what water you be drinking because clearly and I'm working for me, so it's like whenever people bring up diet, that's what I get! That'S what I convey your diet is really important. You have to make sure that you're caught up in your vitamins and your cut up with your irons, I especially am anemic. So I take lots of iron pills and irons. I arson essential and bring him blood to your scalp and the more circulation of blood you have in your hair follicles. That is what's going to make your hair grow, like your blood circulation, brings the oxygen and okay. Let me explain this: the iron carries the oxygen along with blood to your scalp, and your scalp is what is going to feel it's going to feed your hair follicles to make it grow. So us, if you're, not going to take any supplements at all. I especially taking iron pills and MSM powder MSM is sulfur. You know how, when you were little, your grandmother were like grease your scalp with sulfur it that's, basically it, but it's sulfur that your body can't take up so MSM. It helps by the protein in your hair, so your hair is made up of proteins called keratin and sulfur is one of the ingredients that helps bind the protein to your hair, and the protein in your hair makes your hair healthy. If your hair is healthy, then it's not going to break as much so if you're not going to any supplements at all. If you're not gon na watch your diet, I especially don't because I barely drink water and I feel I barely eat healthy, but I make sure to take my eye and Miami stamps. I put my MSME orange juice and I always drink it or you can just put it in water like just make sure you're taking or iron or iron pills here. Msm number six is over processing your hair people leave their relaxants alone, leave their relaxers alone, but I saw this girl on YouTube with her relaxer. She has really long hair. Well, clearly you don't cuz. If you did, your hair would be long by now. Okay, like I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but relaxers are not your best friend, even though your hair is so long with relaxedness. It'S not healthy, relaxed hair isn't healthy because there were relaxers work. Is that Ed two nature's and protein in your hair? So janae sure - and I'm looking forward for like a more suitable word for denaturing, so it basically destroy some protein in your hair and that's how it's able to get it straight. So I don't care. If you have your relaxed hair to your feet, it's not healthy, hair. First of all, relaxed hair is not healthy. Hair Kirby you period frightening and again, there have been tons of there's been tons of research about, with the damages, relaxed hair cost causes to the brain and to the sculpt. So I especially would not recommend having a relaxed hair. Now why do people have relaxed hair and long hair? It'S because they have a very strong hair shaft, that's able to endure all the break inches and stuff. My hair definitely does not. When I was relaxed, I was bald. I had to go natural to be able to get long hair so put them relaxers away. Leave the relaxants alone. Gim me, you heard, I mean reason: number seven is a buildup of products and oils on your scalp when your hair follicles are blank. What oils and products on the scalp does is that it blocks your hair follicles and the your hair follicles are blocked. There'S absolutely no way you can curl your hair. If you have flakes and stuff on your hair, it eventually will cause your hair to thin out or break so you're, going to end up having to pack like patches and patches on your hair of no hair make sure your scalp is clean. Peppermints shampoos are your best friend. If you get a shampoo and it does not have peppermint put it back, don't even buy it. My personal favorite is, I let me go get it this right here. It'S my best friend, it's literally my favorite shampoo, and it cost like two dollars. It has peppermint and rosemary, and it just really helps my keep my scalp clean and that's. The purpose of shampoo shampoo is not gon na make your hair grow. It'S not going to do nothing here. I don't care whatever people promised with their shampoo. The purpose of shampoo is to click your hips to keep your scalp clean, so your scalp is clean and you don't have any flakes or no dirt or no extra oils from your hair. Then your hair follicles are free to receive oxygen and free to grow. Number. Eight is excessive, shedding and break-in, and some of y'all have told me like your hair is actually growing, like you know, it's growing but you're unable to retain that length. If your hair is more susceptible to breakage, you want to do less manipulation like what you want to do: low manipulation, head, hairstyles or no manipulation at all like he do not want to manipulate your hair. You do not want to touch you two. Don'T want to style it too much put in and twist and put it away put it wherever wig and put it away. Don'T manipulate your hair so much because it's more susceptible to breakage! If you're looking for something to help you with the shedding, I suggest using friend, of Greek water, I love training your water. If you've been on my channel, you know friend of Greek, is it's my she's, like my she's, like my best friend a big fan, I remember my mother. I think thinking big over my best friend. If I had one I'll pick a feeling Greek over my sister E, but actually I think but hey yes, I love fenugreek, put fenugreek soak them in cold water cold. Not warm water for about 24 hours, then strain the seeds out, and he is that water to rinse your hair. I love Freddie. I'Ve heard about tea, rinses and stuff, but I've never actually really tried those. So I can't speak for those, but you could go ahead and try it anything works. But you come back and tell me because, like I was like y'all think I'm like a natural hair expert, I'm just a girl who loves hair like I'm obsessed with hair, and I read more about her and I learned all about hair. So I'm not I'm. Definitely not perfect, so if I ever make a mistake, you guys come back and tell me because I actually wouldn't grew my hair boy as greedy. As that sounds I do. Women grew. My hair hello barrel works too. I use a ISIS moisturizer, but it just keeps my hair shiny and like really bright, and it helps me grow, but first shut it. If you're experiencing excessive shedding. I would go ahead and recommend Freddie Creech and your hair is like you're not supposed to have no shedding at all, because, as I previously said, 15 % of your hair is always an intelligent face. So when your hair is always going to, but when it's excessive it it's like you're getting like patches of like it's like dog hair, that's when you want to do something to fix it! 4:9 use of chemicals, like I think I've said this in my natural hair journey and I got attacked so much about how I don't think people should use chemical products on their hair and then right after I made that video, the diva curl debacle came out, and I was like I told y'all so like have y'all seen of youtubers, I use they use a diva curl and their curls got damaged so use natural. If your hair's natural stick to an Emmy, I'm assuming your hair's natural, because okay use natural hair products stick to natural hair products, if you want a natural hair product, I'm coming out with, like y'all, have convinced me to take my teeth. Turn my DIYs into an online shop. So, if you're, looking for a natural hair product click, the link down below or take you to my website, which launches on May 1st, I'm coming out with all-natural hair products handmade with raw materials, everything natural natural babies so use natural hair products and not put chemicals In your hair, chemicals are not your best friends and do not know chemicals with the exception, like the only products that I use, that's not made by me or it's not natural is a swab, coconut, conditioner and shampoo, and that's because I know like I've used it And it does not damage my hair, my hair actually loves it, and I know some products with slip actually have silicon silicon. Silicon is actually not bad for your hair, and especially if you have for see here, it helps slips your hair and it makes it really easy to detangle. So silicone products are not all that bad just make sure it does not get on your scalp just put on your hair, so it's easier to detangle do not put silicone products by your scalp. You do not want to get caught on your skull. Okay, that's reason why your hair isn't growing is that you do not kno your hair porosity, so whatever products you've grabbed, you just put it on your hair. You don't know if you're low porosity get out of here. I mean for a medium that you probably don't even feel it, but if you're high or low, like you, don't know what products are working for you, so maybe that you're doing all the these do I eat. I was that youtubers are talking about, but you're not seeing results because you don't know your hair type and your hair is not absorbing the nutrients that you're applying to your hair. I have a pair of porosity test, slash video out up to the link, like, I think it's gon na be on the right side of the screen. Just make sure you type that and go watch how to test your hair porosity, but basically, if you're in low porosity, like you mean that means that your hair is not able to taking water retaining water, and so you want to use warm water. Like look more more notice, I don't say hot water, because I was actually talking in one of my Indian roommates. She said something about how hair hair started thinning once she came out to the US - and I was reading about it, and I realized that, like the showers like the warm water and the showers contains lead and leg, it's not good for your hair, like leg, would Send out your hair, so once you get in the shower, make sure the if you have the heater in the bathroom thingy just make sure it's turned up to the metal part, so you're using lukewarm water to shampoo your hair. She suggested taking cold like washing my hair in cold water, and I was like hey ain't no way no way. I must take cold showers because I want to get along. I'M here. Ok, no way, I'm not taking cold showers, so use lukewarm water to shampoo. Your hair and watch my processor video to know your hair porosity, so you know sorry, I'm just looking. I forgot something I think so you know what to use for your hair and that's all, ladies and gentlemen, because I actually have some guys watching my video. Thank you for subscribing and always tuning in. I appreciate you all, and hopefully I convinced you to subscribe to my channel and if you did not like what I said or my channel or like my face bothers you then thank you for watching my videos and good luck and growing your hair. Eugenia Kelcy: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his court with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” —Psalm 100:4-5 Update : You can go www.kCurlsys.com to shop my Haircare Line.

life hurts don't cry: Natural hair is sometimes harder than algebra...

Akubueze Kosi: Who else looking for hair tips this quarantine? This hair must grow

shade°: when her shrinkage is your hair stretched :(

Guapceline: I notice guys hair grow and they don’t worry about split ends.

Destiny Luv: I love seeing another 4C sister who’s got long hair and is a Christian. Love it! God bless ❤️

iiSunflower _Girlii: 1.Stop cutting your hair 4:28 2.Not moisturizing 6:11 3.Poor hair care routine 8:19 4.Picking your hair 10:39 5.Your diet 11:23 6.Over processing your hair 12:25 7.Build up of product 15:14 8.Excessive shedding 16:35 9.Use of chemicals 19:07 10.Don’t know your hair porosity 21:20 I hoped this help you if you don’t have time to watch the whole video.

Jessie Webb: "Put the scissors down!" I feel like that should be on a t-shirt

Melanie Banis: Caucasian hair dresser here. Bless you for this video. In school (depending on where you go) they absolutely do NOT teach us about hair beyond a 2C. And that scale is pretty limited as is. Shameful. I'm so grateful for this information. Thank you.

Nana Mana: Also, let’s make it a habit to speak love into our hair and bodies in general. Don’t say it’s too hard, or make it seem like a chore to take care of it. Instead say, “I love every little beautiful strand of hair on my head. I’m grateful to be able to nurture and nourish my hair.” It works ❤️

Event Planner: After reading the comments, I feel like it is important to note that while you shouldn't be scissor happy you still shouldn't avoid trims like it is the plague. At a certain point we have to worry about the health of our hair as opposed to length. Your hair may be long, but if the ends of your hair are see-through, thin, jagged, and are making all sorts of W~y-shapes, what's the point? And it isn't that hard to spot single strand knots or split ends either. Just give the hair a blowout and feel the ends of your hair. If they are rough and see through snip, snip. Also, if you have 4c hair, you shouldn't be trimming your hair in it's natural shruken state anyway. If you do that you'll never get an even cut(just speaking from experience). The longer you wait to trim your hair, the more hair you will inevitably need to cut off in the long run.

Kasheika Edwards: So nobody gonna talk about how gorgeous she is ?? omg your a beautiful black queen your hair looks amazing

Baddieinabonnet: I’ve been growing up with ppl even in my family telling me I can’t grow my hair longer cuz I’m black and I refuse to accept that because it doesn’t make sense

Molly Mone': “Stop cutting your hair”....I needed to see this yesterday. I hear you sis!!

Lowky's World: But on a real note. Out of all the YouTube videos I watched on this subject, y’all are finally getting through to me that I have to moisturize my hair. Cause I can’t even lie, I protective style & don’t touch my sis until 2 months later then wonder why she broken af.

C.C.: I HAVE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE FOREVER TO STOP CUTTING YOUR HAIR! THANK YOU!!! THIS WHOLE VIDEO IS LIFE! Good job, baby girl.

Genny Betwana: Your face Your hair Your eyes Your shape Your skin God has blessed you in every way possible

Laura Hill: Hey Love, Thank you for your well thoughout content. Would it be too much to ask for you to do a miniseries on helpful protective styles where you measure the length before and after? Also, share your insight on why you think the style produced so much length retention. That would be so helpful☺️ I haven’t seen anyone document the amount of growth from a particular style.

Ange: “But I saw this youtuber with a relaxer and her hair was long...but clearly YOU DONT” I’m definitely subscribing not only cause of that but I needed to be scolded for the way I treat my hair thank you

Luyanda Dlamini: Thank you so much for the point about relaxers. My parents used to relax my hair as a child and my scalp would always have damage from relaxers, my hair would start breaking off after a few months. I used to think there was something wrong with me. Two years ago I went natural and let me tell you my natural hair is so thick and curly. Thank you sis

Veronica Mathews: Omg girl. I love you! Keep it real. I never understood the whole cutting thing either and I dont let anyone cut my hair except 1 person I've known for years and she knows how much I cherish my length and shes managed to keep it healthy and long even when I did get relaxers. You make great points and your hair is long and beautiful! Subscribed!

Ebony Gray: After going back and forth between relaxed hair and natural hair, my hair stayed natural for about 7-10 years until I finally could no longer take the "natural hair struggle". What I mean is the dryness, the product buildup while trying to combat dryness, the constant tangling which led to constant breaking, the 3-4+ hours to clean, rectangle, moisturize, and style my hair. No matter what, it was a pain and love-hate relationship with my hair. Now, I have relaxed hair again and was loving it until this video. It seems like no matter what I do with my hair, it's the wrong decision or just isn't a permanent fix. When my hair was natural, It would take a long time to finger detangle (combs ripped my tangled hair), and once I combed through it, my hair would literally bounce back up from the comb and tangle at the ends again. It was a nightmare, so straight hair is my best friend. If I can't win no matter what, at least let it not take long to get ready for the day. ‍♀️

FAST FARKY FITNESS: Agree that relaxers are damaging. Relaxed my hair for years and all I did was fight thin and balding hair. Finally cut it all off and went natural and my hair started growing like wild. I’m about four months in and what a difference!! No more thin hair. No balding. I discovered I have 4c hair but I’m not complaining. It’s finally thick healthy and growing. I’m just focused on growing longer hair so this video is great. Only wish I had the sense to do it a long time ago! Thanks for sharing. The water tip is very helpful.

Brion Minyard: Yes. A lot of what you said is so true. I don’t cut my hair at all and when I do it’s like once every three years; but I just wanted you to know that everything you said actually works. The number one thing is to know your hair and not to use chemicals. I don’t use heat at all unless I’m going to straighten my hair (which I usually don’t do.) Now that you mentioned not to cut your hair, I wonder if that’s why it seems that my hair not growing anymore at least it seems that way to me. Plus my hair sheds more than I like it to. I just want to see it grow pass my bra strap. I’m wondering if you ever experience a moment when your hair seemed to stop growing?

JuDy A.: I love how honestly and real you are. Keep up the good work girl! I subscribed ❤️

Napp Queen: “God is so wonderful he doesn’t want us to go around bald.” I love how spiritual you are! Love your God girl!

Tina Hunter: Thank you ....Eugenia... I really appreciate all of this information... I’m trying to get my hair to stop shedding and ... I’m older than you.. so my is thinning out... I’m trying not to give up on my hair growth... and your advice really helps me to make Betty decisions on my hair care .. thanks again... keep up the good work... can’t wait until May... for your natural hair care products... I will definitely be supporting you...

Sandiswa Nyathi: Love your energy sis! So much truth in what you shared in the video!

dev B: Great tips! ❤️❤️ BTW, it’s not just white hair stylist it’s inexperienced Black hair stylist too. Because they are conditioned to believe what they’re taught in beauty school and think it’s gospel. My old beautician used to do the whole 6-8 week trim and my hair was shorter going to her than when I first started going to her. I lost about 3-4 inches of hair and every time I would go back home to my hometown my family would ask me if I cut my hair. I didn’t realize what was happening until long after the fact. Needless to say I had my last perm 10 years ago and went natural. Since taking care of my hair it’s been longer and healthier than its ever been. Thanks again for the tips!

Ariona Bishop: Ever since I took your advice about moisturizing my hair every 3 days I see a huge difference!! My hair sheds a whole lot less!!! I moisturize every 3 days

dabarbiewitch: I never understood the obsession with cutting these invisible split ends every month in the natural hair community. probably why so many naturals hair is stuck at the same length

Christelle MarieRose Love: Relaxed hair is not healthy hair: I agree 100%

Tany: "I barely drink water or eat healthy" -has perfect skin and literal abs. IM PISSED

Charity EmJay: Awesome tips, thank you for putting this out there. Idk why people trim so often too. I barely trim once a year but one good trim and proper maintenance is all I need.

iateyursandwiches: Thank you for pointing out iron instead of biotin btw! Women need to realize that 1. biotin is in basically everything so you really can't be deficient in it and 2. Iron deficiency anemia is THE MOST common deficiency in women of child bearing age due to menstruation and it is very important for blood supply in your body, thus growth! Girls be asking why it seems like guy's hair grows faster. It's not because of testosterone (quite the opposite actually); it's probably because they dont manipulate their hair much, tend to play lots of sports(exercise), and they dont have to worry about iron deficiency anemia.

little jay: You know I just love the fact sis giving us these great points and she got her reason to back it up like...yasssss girl

Aleeyah Thompson: "IM A GIRL WHO IS OBSESSED WITH HAIR" Who feels the same way?♡I know I do ♡♡

Jordybee: I can’t take my eyes off her crown she’s a queen ❤️❤️

Chichi's Channel: Honestly, I never understood the obsession with cutting these invisible split ends in the black community. I was guilty of this in the past, but realized that I was given false information. Now, I only trim my ends when it's NEEDED. To be honest, I haven't cut my ends in a year and they are still fine. The reason is because I always moisturize my ends. Now my hair is mid- lower back length.

FITNESSBYBLESSING: This video is revolutionary. Sis said do you know what split ends looks like on black people hair. Lordt I do not. Majority of these hair schools are built my Caucasian specialists.

Scorpio GirlVA: Knowing your hair is key! When I'm Athletic, I washed my hair daily and doesn't style it much. During that time, It's the fastest my hair grew. Interesting to see because a myth in black culture is not washing your haif too often is better and dirty hair promotes growth. I like my hair clean and smelling good so without thinking about it, I washed after every gym session (which was almost daily) and my hair was perfectly fine and healthy!

Queen Bee: I currently take 3 msm capsules+2 vitamin c capsules per day, the most AMAZING side effect is After 15 years, IT GOT RID OF MY EXCEMA! I actually made an oil with msm, and for the first time in 10 years, I can wear shoes sleeves! You're DEFINITELY right about that msm, my nails grow like crazy, and my hair is growing! I couldn't imagine relaxing my hair!

Gifty Kargbo: Your hair probably falls out when you try to detangle it in the shower because you’re not cutting/trimming your hair. Everything you said is very accurate except the trimming and detangling part. When your hair is even it causes less breakage. Beautiful hair btw

Lexi Cam: This was so helpful ♥️ I just cut a inch off my hair like 5 days ago! I felt so bad and now I know why I’m so subscribing

కꫀᡶꫝ: My teenage nephew has been trying to grow his hair for a year. It's ridiculously THICK, but refuses to grow much in length at all, and he never cuts it. When I was his age about 20 years ago, I did the same thing. My hair was down to my shoulders in the same amount of time, and I used to cut, relax, dye it non-stop.

chasturner84: I was natural for 10 years, deep conditioned weekly, ate right, exercised, drank water, took vitamins, kept my hair in protective styles 24/7, bought professional quality products, and had my hair trimmed professionally when needed. My hair barely made it past shoulder length I was so discouraged. I gave up and relaxed my shoulder length hair in January of this year and now I’m nearing bra strap with blunt ends. Crazy! I hope to return to natural at some point in the future but it was so frustrating for me.

bree sabana: First of all... My hair wants to be your hair when it grows up Second... for those of us who cannot afford natural hair products, what can we do for our hair to grow?

La'Oncia: Tired of getting on here everyday and seeing a video about why my hair isn’t growing. I feel attacked and I’m reporting y’all

Nikki Cain Lifestyle: Such a gorgeous and intelligent young lady! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiring others. ❤️ By the way, amazing hair! ❤️❤️❤️

Magic Shinobi: Experiment time!!! I have a mixture of 4a, 4b, and 4c. My hair dries up quickly so I have to make sure it’s hydrated multiple times throughout the week. My ends are very fragile so if my hair is dry, my ends WILL snap off, create knots, etc. I’ve been getting trims every 6 to 8 weeks. Because why would I want to keep those knotted ends that create problems for my other ends ya know? But...I’m going to do an experiment. I’m going to push my next trim back to 12 weeks. I’ll maintain a strong routine for hydration and give extra care to my ends. And I’ll update on whether or not extending my trim helped retain length....or if I just ended up cutting off more than what would’ve been needed if I stuck to 6 to 8 weeks.

Krissy Fizzle: I love how you explained the hair growth cycle too. People don't usually do that. Also you're so pretty ❤

private calice: My mom didn’t even give me a chance to grow out my natural hair. As soon as I got in fourth grade, she put perm on my hair because it is “too difficult to manage”. Until I was in seventh grade, I told her to stop it and now on my four year journey of my natural hair. Before my hair was neck-length and now it’s shoulder-blade length. My goal is to reach below my bra-length. I hope I can get it in two years.

Mikimo Mikimoto: When my hair was relaxed and I went to the hair stylist every month to get it redone or treatment I used to HATE them for trimming my hair. My hair was growing and yes i had split ends but trimming every month whatever I growth I had was gone. I honestly think some hair stylists low key don’t want your hair to be longer than theirs

Sumtings: If your hair is damaged or prone to breakage you ABSOLUTELY need to keep your hair trimmed regularly. (Every 6-8 weeks) Any licensed professional would never recommend keeping unhealthy hair. If your hair is healthy leave it alone. Do not avoid trims because you want length over health

Sol Haiti: As much I loved your videos but... We do experience split ends I've been natural for 6 years now and yes I had split ends and knots. So after all the years I do understand 1) not all oils work for everyone. My hair loves avocado oil and Argan oil best. Any combination of all oils my scalp will be on fire! 2) not all products or brands work for us. Cantu, Lotta Body are not for me. 3) Heat is our biggest enemy. So to have more hair stay away from "blow drying". 4) not all white stylist are bad or don't know black hair you will be surprised. 5) Mo Knows hair is a black hair stylist and can lead people who don't know much. 6) what works for you may not work for me or others. The best thing to do is "to eat" properly. Follow vegan pages take what's good for you and apply it to your regiment. Healthy regiment= healthy hair. 7) triming is helpful for some. In my case yes, and I do it every six months. I want length but also healthy hair. 8) try a treatment or regiment for at least a month... I don't have no problem you pointing things but the hairstylist went to school to be able to assist people. We need to respect that. Some may not know because they don't "like black hair" (speaking from experience). We do have some good ones in the black community like Nicole Pembrook, Tatiana Bazin, Moknowshair and also some great products their work can speak for them, naptural85 has a great product line. Now if you want to go all natural for your hair is your right. Please you don't have to put others down for it. Natural hair is patience, is love, is self-care, is acceptance is not just products or who does it best. And also Shea butter is a great choice if you want length well to me

Matilda Lucas: Listen carefully to what she said about cutting hair. After she said , put the ✂️ down, she also said *if you can’t see through your hair(short hair), can’t see through your tee shirt (long hair)*- don't cut it. My take away is, there may be a need to trim or cut off dead or damaged hair. Meanwhile we are may be on a quest to see how split ends look like on 4c hair

Tiffany Hannah: I'm getting into protective styles for my 4c natural hair. I've been natural for 4 or 5 yrs now. My hair haven't growed to waistleight yet. It does shed a lot especially in the shower while combing. So I realize blow drying helps a lot. I really don't know the proximity of my hair. I didn't know about the hair fazes either. Thank you breaking it down.

Linda Oliver: I took a strand of hair from my head and the end was spit pretty bad, I pulled another one and the same thing. I'm a professional license hairstylist. I become really ill so I couldn't do my hair for one whole year. I had to go to a salon to someone I trusted and had her to trim my hair ends, then research and saw your Moringa and Fenugreek deep conditioner and I haven't had any split ends since. But I had my ends trimmed first. I used your products only like 3 months now. 8oz is pretty small this is my third purchase. I use it once a week. I love this. My hair has grew .

PlaylistPerson dot com: They should teach this stuff to people who want to be a barber. I would feel a lot safer that my hair won’t be damaged if they did.

Gabriella Dynasty Sylves: You’re right about using what someone does with their hair as a guide but if it doesn’t work for you don’t do it. I, by default, wet my hair whenever I shower. That’s a big no-no for most black women. I NEVER towel dry my hair. I only let it air dry. A lot of people cannot bare to do that. I NEVER brush my hair. I don’t even own a brush. I DO NOT shampoo my hair. I haven’t shampooed my hair in 2 years or more. I DO NOT layer products on my hair. That is why I can go without shampooing. I do not get build up. My scalp is always clean. My hair in real life is very strong, thick, and long. I have to admit however, I am scissor happy. My hair grows faster than most people. My hair is so healthy I can leave it alone and do nothing and it’ll grow like wildfire. You and your hair is like a potter and clay. You form it into what you want it to be. Also, shea butter breaks my hair. I cannot use any product with shea butter. I know that black women swear by shea butter but it NEVER works for me. Castor oil is the same. It will break my hair. Another thing is my hair NEVER sheds. When it does shed I know something is wrong. Then I investigate to find out why. My hair has been shedding lately to an excess and I’m trying to find the reason. So with all this being said everybody’s hair is different. You are amazing. Thank you for educating us ♥️

aesthyi: I just found your channel and I'm so happy I did! I love your energy and I like that you did your research!

Nicole Ford: This is the best hair video I’ve seen for 4c. I love you used scientific facts. Now I actually feel like I can take card of my hair. Subscribed

totsucker: I haven't cut my hair ever (I did like a half an inch trim on like a couple of trims) I wash my hair 2 times a month cuz I procrastinate, it's to the point I sometimes do it once or never a month, so I'll definitely try harder. My hair hasn't grown that much in like 1-4 years and I'm trying to make up for it.

Stephanie Zulu: This video was so helpful and informative , will definitely be using the tips mentioned ❤

eterneti howard: this is my first video of yours and you've definitely convinced me to subscribe . thank you, this helped a lot !!

Teneil Phillip-Calliste: Thank you so much for your information... I'm being on my natural hair journey for the past 3yrs and never heard some of the things you've mentioned from other natural hair gurus. I have 3c hair but my daughter's have 4b-4c hair to again thank you

Brittany B: This makes so much sense. I just washed my hair and detangled it and so much broke off I cried.

Taneika Jones: I'm 42 yrs old and I've learned more from this vid than I have from any other source. EVER. Great job on the vid and thanks for taking the time out to education the masses! You are a very beautiful and intelligent young lady, thanks for teaching this old dog some new tricks lol

Esmeralda: She is absolutely correct abt putting your hair in twists and leaving it alone, because when I started doing that my hair started to retain its length.

Charetta Boston: I actually make all natural hair and skin care products, one being a shampoo, and I do include an ingredient that promises growth, and my conditioner comes behind and seals that ingredient. Also there is such a thing as split ends, you can actually see them. Then, you can see the damaged. But love all of your tips, and you were very refreshing to watch.

Beautifully Unique: Hey I wanted to ask you a question I used to get my hair flat ironed every two weeks.I stopped getting it flat ironed I have no idea how long I have been transitioning mind you I have never had a perm or relaxer. My hair has always been natural. Do you have any advice or tips and tricks to help me through this journey of getting my curls back? Thank you for your time!

Bougie Mastery: Say that! You don’t need to cut your hair (split ends!) what you need is deep conditioning and moisture! The dead ends will fall off on their own, WHILE your hair is still growing!

Jasmine-Sheniqua Hawkins: What may work for you doesn’t work for everyone else. I have to TRIM my hair every 2 months because I get serious split ends and my hair will break off and keep splitting upwards. ⬆️ so YES, some women need to TRIM their hair every so often to maintain healthy hair and to achieve length.

𓆉 Mystical 𓆉: I've had dreads for 7 YEARS (got them when I was 5) and got them out at the end of last year this has help me alot since I don't know a thing about hair and I got 4C so thank you!!

Lowky's World: I swear at like 13:47 you had me dying “I see girls with relaxers with long hair....well clearly you don’t” that was funny asf sis. Subscribed

King Silver: Dude, imma follow this. I cut my hair every 3 to 4 months, and it has been growing. Knowing that my hair has better growing potential makes me excited

The Collective Mic Productions: Hi Eugenia! Love your channel. I’ve learned so much. Thx you. I think it’s also fair to say when hair growth is a problem and everything tried is failing to seek the advice of a dermatologist. I was going thru a shed and my growth almost halted. I had scalp biopsy to examine. I found out I have characteristics of CCCA as well as some female pattern baldness..(a female trait). anyways my treatment includes a topical steroid and I may have to start rogain. Please also consider health issues and age of the person too. As we age our hair will change at some point so I started menopause, I am on a low dose blood pressure med and type 2 diabetic in which I learned all effects the life cycle of a hair follicle. I am still taking a more organic approach tho. Watching you I made my first organic treatment for my hair the aloe Vera and avocado oil. My hair felt amazing! I’m gonna make the fenugreek and Miranga next. Pray for me

Katia Bella: I am relaxed currently and it’s my second time around being relaxed and transitioning to natural. In my experience my hair has grown to mid back length while relaxed, HOWEVER after 5 years of relaxing, my hair is starting to thin and grow slowly. Even though I relax 2x yearly and I under process, I find that my hair grows best without heat, colouring or relaxing. Can’t wait to be natural again, I want to feel free!

Jess Mitch: When she said "get to know your hair" I felt that lol when everybody went crazy over coconut oil, my hair was like "" shae butter helps me. My hair does not likey the oil of the coconut

S W: I was so nervous about my “split ends” on my hair cause it’s really curly and your so right thank you

Bellathebee: I don’t understand the obsession with “trimming” natural hair all the time. I mean I’m not against it, I trim my hair but like once a year after I’m done retaining the amount of hair I was supposed to for the year..then I go ahead and trim about an inch off.

Whitney Forever: As a hairstylist I’ll kind of agree with not trimming you’re in a lot because you want to give your hair time to grow but like she said if it’s see-through at the bottom and you can barely come through it you need to get your ends clipped

Viper: Point blank, if you don’t have any split ends, there’s no need for a cut or trim unless you just want it. If you have split ends, cut/trim them off. 2ndly, Keep your hair moisturized. Water FIRST, then some type of leave-in conditioner, then a moisturizer, and maybe a little avocado oil if you use oil. Everyone doesn’t want nor need oil in their hair. Make healthy/better food and drink choices. Vegetables are GREAT!

Bb_bxbygurl: Last time I went to my hairstylist Yh after she finished relaxing my hair she cut my ends off and I was like “huh what is she doing?” I was so confused after I take my braids out I really wanna see how much longer my hair grows

Macaulay Tolulope: I enjoyed watching this thank you I also had to cut my relaxed hair and start all over again and I’m loving the growth and process

Gabby Strange: I love her style... I love everything about her!

Myangela Powell: I agree with everything your saying, the only thing is with my hair for some reason I tend to notice growth when I don’t wash my hair for months and I leave it alone. Like literally my hair creates an oil, and my hair oils itself and it grows. It’s the weirdest thing.

Ukazu Sisters: "you need to eat healthy" me: eating a bag of Doritos while watching this*

Amirah Butler: Love your energy!!✨

A M: you're adorable, great advise xo .. i cut my hair on my own, a half of a half of an inch .. i wont cut any more for another year or more .. for me cutting my hair NEVER works it actually makes it more unhealthy i have no clue why!

eshaw564: I love your channel! I will definitely try these techniques on my hair. I will say that I use this app called "Think Dirty" and the shampoo you mentioned was listed on their due to the DMDM Hydantoin and the Fragrance. Have you considered using Nairobi?

Zharia'Elizabeth: its crazy because when I started going natural and I strictly didn't go to a salon or anything for almost 2 years my hair grew soo much when I was just doing it, then I got it straightened and they told me I need to get my ends clipped every 3 months and my hair got shorter and shorter. I realized these stylist will tell you anything for a check and since realizing this i've decided to stick to doing my hair myself.

Alice Ougo: I just watched this after cutting inches of my 4C hair thinking they are split ends. Good thing I now know never ever cutting my hair. Thanks for the detailed explanation

Leanne Gabina: Definitely convinced me!! You're amazing xo

adorablebelle: This is such an informative channel -- thank you so much!

Discover Cheri: She’s so smart. I just subscribed, I love people who use facts to back up their statements

Kitten` Cloudy: Omg I always pick my hair and my dad complains about all the hair on the floor I didnt realise how much damage I was doing thank you so much, my poor hair, and a barely moisturize OMG I'm a criminal

Rogue Y: Cutting split ends is simply cutting damaged ends. You can have length but damaged. Heat and perms caused the majority of my split ends bc I wore my hair up most. Whenever I randomly straightened my hair I always found none. My ends would be blunt and solid like the rest. I only cut if I did a lot of damage but I don’t style like that regularly anymore

CHICHI JUDIE TV: I just came across this gorgeous youtuber and absolutely you are so honest. Everything well explained truthfully. I will absolutely follow these great tips. Atleast my hair is growing with volume but I enjoyed listening n watching you

Joice Bamboo: I like Eugenia, she's always trynna fight people giving us bad hair advice.
