So this is pretty basic knowledge for most cosplayers, but for those of you who have never been on a wave before, I just wanted to walk through the basic process of putting your hair up underneath the wig cap, so that you can put a wig over top Of it, it shouldn't take long to do maybe five minutes and it'll keep your hair contained. It'Ll prevent you from having any weird lumps on your head and it'll provide a solid base to anchor your wig to with bobby pins. If you need that the materials that you'll need are bobby pins, whatever kinds of Clips you prefer to use some of these little elastic, hair ties like these or the clear ones, would be fine and to wig caps step one. I am going to pin back my bangs. If you have bangs these wispy little dudes will get everywhere. They are difficult to keep contained and you don't want to poke it out of your wig. I like these kind of clips for this, because they are sturdy and they lay flat against the head once you have them on there. Next, I'm gon na put my hair into pigtails braids. If you have a lot of hair, you might want to do more than two braids just so that the braids themselves aren't too thick. I do not have that problem since I have the world's thinnest hair tada. Next, we're going to pin the braids to the head with bobby pins, wrap the braid around to the opposite side like this, and then you just want to anchor it to your head with a bobby pin right up there. You don't have to worry about this. Being super solid because pretty soon the wig cap will be holding it in place, not the pin beautiful now the first wig cap, this one is doing most of the work, get it on there and tuck in any bits that are sticking out funny. At this point, you can actually remove the bobby pins that are holding your braids straight through the wig cap. You don't have to do this, but I find that sometimes, if I don't they stab me once I put the wig on once. The first wig cap is in place. You want to lock it all in place with a second wig cap. This is a trick that I totally stole from Alice and Tabitha. It helps flatten everything down, so you have a smooth head and it helps catch any bits that the first wave cap missed. Next, I use two more of these clips to anchor the hair to the weed cap at the temples. My hair is so thin and has so little texture that, if I don't do this, it's easy for the wig cap to just slip straight off the back of my head once I have a wave on top of it. This just helps. Keep it on place. Did all your done go forth and wear some lovely wigs if you want tips on where to get good, cosplay wigs make sure to check out my cosplay. I thank you where I went into depth on such things and if you want more videos about cosplay make sure to subscribe to my channel. I will put my face over here and you can click on the little bubble with my face in it, and that will subscribe you to me so that you see future videos. Look at me. I look bald

Alessandra Mantovani: I honestly thought you started the video out with a wig already on... that blue color is insane!

stylesandsmarts: I have the opposite problem, I have the world's thickest hair! I find that traditional wig caps (like the ones you used) become painful after a while because of how much hair I have to cram into them. I've switched to a more open woven style and found them to be much more comfortable. Just a tip for anyone who has super thick hair like me.

VegemiteQueen1: Thank you! I have an appointment today to buy my first wigs and want to go in with my hair as prepped as possible! Also so nice to see somebody with hair as thin and fine as mine, we NEVER see it on tv or in magazines so makes you feel a bit weird sometimes.

Karin Voll: Oh wow, I can just take your tips and apply without any adaptations, you're the first person I see on youtube with hair just as thin as mine. If you ever feel like doing videos on hairstiling your own hair I would totally watch it!

E. Bernhard Warg: TWO wig caps? I'll have to try that! Also the type of hairclips you recommended. My hair's a bit thicker (the parts that aren't disappearing entirely, that is) so I usually gather the lengthy rear area in a loose topknot.

Evae: My hair is pretty long and thick, and whenever I cram it into a wig cap it looks bumpy and weird. So if I really need to wear a wig I ask my friend or sister to French-braid my hair and pin it to my head in a circle shape. Then I can put a wig cap over it and it won’t leave a massive bump, and it won’t slide around and fall out. It’s still not easy for me to wear short wigs, though, because they have a hard time covering up all of my hair.

Noelle Smith: I know I'm late to the party, but this has been the most useful wig vid I've seen. Bless you ma'am!

Snowpaw Wolf: Omg thank you so much. My hair goes down past my butt and I refuse to get it cut (oof) and pretty soon I gotta be wearing a carved pumpkin on my head for hours at a time so it's probably best not to have it getting all up in there.

Janes Add: Excellent tutorial thank you!!

DR Sawyer: Great video and tips. Thank you for posting!!

Rosegold Mystique: Everyone watching this for cosplay. I just want a decent way to hide colored hair at work

Rooster Darwin: I needed this so bad lol My side tuffs are ridiculous, thank you human!!

Hog and Dice: I have belly button length super thick hair so this is really helpful.

Janet in GA Collins: How are you removing the Bobby pins through the wig cap? It doesn’t look like a net one. Good tip on the side clips. I have the sliding cap problem as well.

Jamie Sunshine: I have so much hair, I haven't even attempted wigs. I've legit just been cosplaying Redheaded characters to avoid having to put a wig on :P My hair was past my boobs and SUPER thick before Covid (I chopped about 4-6 inches off) gonna try it at some point....I still have a massive amount of hair though xD

Lily The Amazin: Perfect! Thanks because I want to be luna love good for Halloween but I have dark brown hair, so thanks

Qiox Qiox: I have a problem, so I go a sailor moon wig from angelicos (I think that's the name). And its exposes the back of my head. And I have brown hair so it's super janky looking. Idk maybe I'm doing it wrong.

M. CD.: What bout short hair ? I have short hair which is dark blonde and my wig is medium to dark brown . So how do I hide the side hair of the blonde from showing from under the wig ?

Jan Uzzell: Thank you - most enlightening

Rizky Mubaroq: Is it good for daily usage

Dead Sarcasm: I was just thinking of buying a wig just for the frick of it and pairing it with some of the clothes in my closet that I generally don't wear. Also, any recommendations on wear to buy a wig for a first-timer? Like, for "normal wear"...if that makes any sense???

Stevey Filiault: def not cosplaying but i need to wear my lime green wig

lucille: You must be really good at getting wigs on! How many wigs do you have? (Also, first!)

jee anne tanay: Thanks for this

Corwin Alexander Gaming: Fine hair is wonderful. I have the world's finest hair... it's soft and wonderful to stroke (and have stroked). Don't be ashamed of your fine hair :-)

Joseph Joestar: my problem is i have half shaved hair so i cant put it in two braids :(

Tory Skyee: Yea use glue or that spray

Chef Toast: Would this work for 4c hair. (black people hair)
