Watch and learn tips and tricks to washing a human hair wig. Ricky demonstrates step by step how to properly wash a human hair wig, how often you should wash one and how to properly dry it.

Hi, I'm Ricky Knowles with Ricky nose, hair wellness and today we're going to show you how to wash your human hair wig, but you're going to need is your wig. What I use here is the nutritive shampoo, the nutria fuse conditioner. This goes home with every single one of our clients and purchase human hair away. Either a wide toothed comb or a wet brush wet brush is a fantastic detangling. Brush works like a charm without pulling hair breaking all right now, most people. I guess the most common question that we did from people is: how often, should I wash my work? Well, I typically tell people depending on how can you wear it? You should wash your regular wear between every two to four weeks, if you're, someone who only wears it maybe once or twice a week, probably only do they need to shampoo it once a month, if you're running a lot more than that, probably closer between two to Three weeks so first thing we're going to do is fill our sink up with some warm water, lukewarm water. You don't want it too cold, because some of this here it does have cuticle remaining on it and you usually cuticle responds better with warmer water. So it's nice and warm something that's not going to brine enough water to be able to completely submerge the wig in I'm going to do them. As I had a generous amount of the nutritive shampoo to the water probably about it gets my ounce. We notice the wall really well. Now a lot of people suggest that you actually shampoo the wig on a head, which is fine if you want to do if you want to do it in your stereo compander, if you have a plastic head, but what I find is people tend to get frustrated That way and tend not to wash it as much because it's really hard to keep the head steady in the seat. So I kind of come with a way that is really good at washing it and also gentle, so that you're not going to be doing any damage the best way to do that, and it also helps you to they're, never ready to keep the part at you're. Going to hold the wig from the inside, placing your thumb over the part so that most of the way the wig is distributed into the back over your fingers. What I'm going to do is just take the lid and begin submerging it into the water. She just going to let it soak for a bit I'm going to pull it right out, take a dip in we're not going to scrub at it, we're not going to swish it around we're just going to take it and dip. Now, if you feel like your wig is very dirty, you can actually let it soak in the water for a few minutes. Don'T leave it too long, dreamer, water. This point we're going to rinse with warm water. Now, if you feel like it's really dirty - and you want to shampoo it again, go ahead repeat, step long fill up the sink. Put the shampoo in and dip it again user is rinse well to make sure that you keep all the hairline with same direction. Whether short or long, you always want to just kind of rinse to the top. Now I'm going to make sure is that I do also put the inside of the cap. So I'm going to gently turn it over my hand and I'm going to really rip the inside of the cap. I'M going to continue to Philip sync up this time, I'm not going to use quite as much water just enough to help me dilute the conditioner. So what I'm going to do is take your interferes. Conditioner take good amount of conditioner, I'm going to put that directly into the water a little bit fixing it very well. The reason I do that is because we don't want is for anyone to put the conditioner directly onto the base of the wig. What happens in is the conditioner can become lodged into the wig and, depending on the type of wig you have. It has several layers throughout if the conditioner can get launched in between the layers and cause premature hair loss. So what I'm going to do now is just begin dipping against again, if you feel like you need extra conditioning, you can do is dip it for a bit and then just let it set out and stay in the hair for up to about three minutes after You feel like it's well conditioned we're going to then rinse the cold water. Now this one actually is doing really well, there's no tangles! You see now, if you feel like there's areas and yours where there may be some tangles. One thing that you can do is take either your my tooth comb and what you would want to do is hold the weight very well from the base and just gently work it through the ends making sure that I'll tangle free or you can go back to Your wet brush, which is the great detailing brush for my hair and same thing, and just work it up you don't want to do, is just to hold the way from here and start coming at it because then you're going to you want to do some damage Or probably, pull some hair off so now I'm going to go with cold water start at the top again, I'm going to turn them against. I doubt making sure that I really rents all in the base material, give any condition, and maybe leftover making sure the water runs Queen gently squeezed my way down just moving to the accessible water there's negative into natal. Just pull the ends underneath Jim. We very obviously grow into the Tao just going to do this press enough to get rid of us to excess one. Now, at this point, you've got a clean wig, so you can either put it on a wig drying rack to dry on your foam head or you put it on your own head and begin styling as usual because of human hair. It does require some blow drying and curling on flat, irons. Things like that that you don't have to use on synthetic wigs, but it's totally up to your discretion. If you're going for a straight sleep, look, I recommend maybe putting your anti frizz product in any type of product. People want brush it out as straight as possible onto the head. Then let it dry overnight and it will make it quite flat. You may have to run a flat iron over, but it's going to keep you from having to replace the wig. More often this blow dryer sometimes will cause some damage. If it's too hot or if you're, pulling too much, you would too much pressure whenever you're brushing through it, you can either let it dry overnight. Are you put it on your head and muttered rack? That is how you wash you came in here. Wait Thanks!

BigJRK 420: Where is that wig from? I have been searching high and low to no avail for an 18 to 22" chestnut brown human hair wig (under $700), silky straight, preplucked with bleached roots. I would prefer full lace but will be ok with wefts if the part is far enough back and the lace is soft. The big thing is that I am caucasian. I can never find a wig in this color (my hair color) that does not have dark lace or an old white lady permatease and cut. I am hoping for something with a bra-type strap in the back as I have a small head and even when I Got2B the front, it can bunch in the back or be too wide across. So yeah, the wigs I find are either yaki, permatease with a Friends™ haircut, have black roots, or are 1000s of dollars (I live the Orthodox Jewish wigs but they are SO expensive. I don't even mind taking a 613 and dying it. This wig looks perfect but I know it's 5 years old so if you can think of any that would fit the bill I'd appreciate it. Also would be easier if I knew of an inexpensive (under $150) wig stylist in Philadelphia who could basically customize a normal wig to me because I dont do any of that well yet. Cut the lace and hair to suit my face, pluck it, put in the straps etc that I would need, maybe add some silk.... just make it realistic. If it's not obvious, I'm losing my hair and it's happening fast so I'm overwhelmed, not leaving my house, looking everywhere for a solution that doesn't itch or look rediculously fake. I see those youtube videos of guys snatching wigs off of women's heads and that is just my nightmare. oh, and I apologize I'm using my boyfriend's account. I'm not john LMAO

Sierra Hascall: What if it's a wig you wear daily and it rats and tangles because its naturally wavy and long? Do you still recommend to wash it 2-3 weeks? Its just a cheap temporary wig I snatched on EBay but it is definitely HH. Its just as nice a quality as I wish it could be. It was also dyed with red tone on it. Its probably illegal in the wig world, but I soak this one in conditioner every night (RenPure brand) to make it soft and silky in the morning again. Then as it goes through the day, it gets dry and tangles in the back where its wavy curly like.

Porchulis: I'm in California, do you recommended anyone out here.

Eddie: My mom died 9 years ago from cancer but I still have her wig. Can I donate it somewhere? I would love to do so as it might bring a bit of joy to someone in dire times.Should I take it to a salon and have them take a look?

divygoal: You spoilt my wig
