What'S up guys, it's me Qi here and that is mad about me. Cheat on all social media platforms YouTube Facebook. I G makes you guys follow me mad about me chief. I typically I used to do tutorials all the time I stopped for a while, but I am bad guys. I am back. I'M gon na do a short tutorial. This one is just basically gon na show you guys how to adjust your wig units. I get a lot of people who ask me like how can they make their wig units smaller if it's too big and I've been kind of like thinking about it? Okay, how can they, you know, adjust their weight unit if they're just basically purchasing a standard, wig unit and not so much as buying a custom unit? We all know custom units can get very expensive, we're talking seven eight hundred dollars even in the thousands, but you can get standard units for two hundred three hundred dollars. The price is very inexpensive for a standard unit, but sometimes if you have a smaller head, it looks big now some people say that their units are too small, but it's very rare, very rare, that a unit is not going to be too small. Like me, I have a bigger head in units they're, just not too small, they're more so too big like the unit's fit my head perfectly honestly. I don't really have to make adjustments, but if you're saying your unit is too small, then you may be putting it on incorrectly. Cuz units usually will be bigger before they're smaller, so I'm gon na show you guys. This is one of my wigs that I made she's been through it. I just got her up the drawer, so she's dirty. She could use some tender, loving care, but I'm gon na use her after my model today to show you guys how to actually your wig units and make them smaller if they are to be so now we're talking about a wig unit that actually has a closure On it, the closure that you see right here, the small piece of lace, so we're not working on units that have a frontal on it. I'Ve explained Frankel's closures and other video. So if you're confused about the difference between espresso and the closure makes you guys take a look at some previous videos, but we're gon na work on making a closure wig unit, smaller, okay, and so this is how this one looks on the inside. I made this one on my sewing machine, and now I'm gon na show you guys how to make it smaller again. This one fits my head fine, but just for the sake of helping you guys out, I'm gon na sacrifice my bomb. We all still be able wear her, but we're gon na sacrifice her. So what you want to do pretend this is your head? Okay. So this is your head. What you want to do, first and foremost, just put the unit on your head: okay, again, you're, not putting it on a mannequin head. This is you okay, so you should be looking in the mirror as you're, watching this video and putting your wig unit on your head, so I'm just putting the tea pants in her, so she'll stay now what you want to do when you have your wig on Your head, this is the back we're gon na part, it straight down the middle and either using a clip or rubber bands. You want to separate it into two sections, so this is what you should look like from the front like you have two pigtails, but you're. Basically, just separating it in the back okay. So now what you're gon na do is you're gon na grab your unit like from the top of your head, and you want to actually grab the lace go in between that hair grab your legs and pinch whatever feels too big, you want to pinch that, okay, Again, my unit is fine, but if it was too big, I would pinch it but kind of pinch it down here, because what we want to do is cool that extra elastic down here. Okay, we don't want to pull it up to the top, because you want your wig units to still be flat on the top. So what you want to do is grab any additional cap and you're going to grab it down at the bottom and you're just going to simply put the clip in it up against your head. Okay, you're, just gon na put a clip in it. Cuz you want to grab any additional weight cap that you want to cut off. Okay, so you want to grab that and then you want to take your wig unit off. I'M just going to keep this on my head, where's that so now I'll show you one Dominican, we're gon na grab. Whatever will go in my hand, can come off okay, so you want to grab that cuz that excess weight cap right excess weight cap. So that's what you want to come off, but I want to bring it down some because we want to make our stitch down at the bottom. You want this to stay, how it is so we're gon na I'm gon na bring it further down to the bottom. Okay, close to the back of the week, this is excess cap. Okay, so now take your wig off of your head and put it on the mannequin head. Okay, put it on the mannequin head, you know: Manik, okay, you know mannequin hit, you need shears and you need thread and a couple of hair clips about three hair clips. Sorry guys! Okay! So when you take that clip off you're gon na count how many tracks that was inside of that clip, okay, so I'm gon na count the amount of tracks that was inside it clip one three, four five and six. So I had six tracks inside of my clip. It does not matter how far apart or how close your tracks are. We are basically just determining how much we need to cut off okay, so I need to take out six tracks with okay. So now what you want to do is separate those tracks away from the rest of the here. Well, I need six tracks off. It'S almost impossible to measure it by inches, so we're measuring it by tracks be sure to separate it evenly. So the hair I'm pulling up is the hair that I don't want to take off, okay and make sure you separate it evenly wherever your track starts. You want to end it on the other side and, yes, you are going to lose hair off your units, oneness, which you can always solve more here back in. I got one two, three, four, five, six, that's what I said. Six six tracks work in my hair. Clip so that's what needs to come off, so these are the six tracks that I counted, meaning this is the excess weight cap. This is where all the excess wave cap was. So I'm going to clamp this just to keep it separated. Then I'm gon na get all this hair out of the way, because you don't want to make a mistake and cut off anything, that's not supposed to come on. I hope you guys can understand what I'm doing here so now. This is where all my excess we wake up use so now what I'm gon na do is go in with a pair of shears, starting from one side. You have to cut that out. Okay, so at the top of the track, where the excess week was, you want to actually cut that whole cap out of here put close to the track. Do not cut the band - Oh this, maybe easier so basically you're just eliminating all those tracks from the middle. Don'T cut the band cut right before you get to the band? I know that's a lot of hair, but you can sew it back in literally consult its back in, and you want to make sure that when you're cutting off your excess wig that you're not cutting hair off the top, you want that top to remain intact. Any like mishaps or mistakes or imperfection they will be totally fine in the back of your wig unit. But you don't want to screw up the top of your wig cap and if this is a service that you do not feel comfortable, doing simply ship it out to me I'll, do it for you and send it back to you the only thing you will have To do is measure your Weah cap on your head put the clip on there, so I would know how much of the cap I'm supposed to be taking off for you and mine seems like a lot of hair, because I stitch the tracks super close together. Some of you may have only taken off to track some of you three tracks, some of you one track. It just depends on what size you're trying to take your wig unit down to okay, so don't be afraid or think we're just about to lose a lot of hair. Because again this hair can go back in and that's a that's a whole nother situation. But it can go back in so you should have this hole in the middle of your week like this, so the hard part is over. So now all you want to do is literally close. This stitching up that hole you put in the middle, your wig, you just want to close it up. We Follette this hair down she's out of the way she's safe. We won't make a mistake and cut her, so we just let her hang just so you guys can see exactly what you did. So this is the back of your unit. This is the top now we're just stitching it in the middle, so you want to start stitching from front to back because any buckling that you may get because you're adjusting the size of the wig you want it to be in the back anything that goes on. Pretty much back here, it's fine! You just want to make sure your top stays flat, so you want to make sure you start stitching from the front to the back, but anything buckling. Anything like that. It'S okay back here as long as the top is flat under your stitching clothes, and my suggestion would be like when you're putting your clip on when you're sizing it try not to make it too tight, make some room for error because you don't want to make It too small, because once it's too small, it's really nothing. You can do about it. So you know just try to leave some room. Don'T try to make it too tight because remember you you're gon na be wearing braids under this unit. So you want to make sure, there's enough room for the braids. So now, as you guys can see, the unit is starting to come together. You pretty much can't even tell that you took remove some of the cap. It just looks like the we would stitch this way. A couple more stitches and I'll be done. Just secure it, I'm gon na take her down, see guys can see what you did there. You are she's still flat on the top and she is smaller. So here you go a much smaller unit, didn't cost you a dime just a little bit any time. Just take your time. There'S no rush, so I'm sure some people will be standing like when you lost the hair in the unit. You kind of got to make up your mind either you wan na a smaller unit or you want to keep all your hair. But remember you could always go back in and stitch more hair in and what you want to do is stitch the hair in the back and I'll. Make sure I'll show you guys that, on my on my next video that you can put more hair in your wig unit, even after you make it smaller and I'll just show you a close-up, so you can just see how the unit looks on the inside will Be stitched today, you can see a little bit where you stitch to that, but that's nothing that anyone else is going to see to me. It looks fine as long as the unit is still wearable. If I didn't have this one, I would put it on, but guys just have to trust my word, but it works out perfect. So I'm glad to be back with you guys, making videos, and I will see you guys again in the next tutorial again be sure to follow me on IG YouTube. Facebook, whatever at mad about me sheet, see you guys

GrowingNFaith: Much needed!!!!!! I do the band trick to make it tighter but there’s still always that bulk that just sits there. That was the reason I stopped purchasing units. Now I’ll try it again and use this trick! Thank you for sharing!!!

Beautifully Sewn: You don’t know how long I have been looking for this! I actually need to do this on my Posh Collection beginner unit. I kept coming across vertical cuts but was terrified of the shedding. This is right on time!

Her And Love Are The Same: Thank God I found youuuuuuuu! I have a 20in head circumference smallest of the small heads I try not to sew on the band and it still stretches out This is beautiful!!!!!!

My wig is too big on the top of my head where the micro-mesh hand tied area is, from the bangs to about three to four inches back before you get to the wefting. The cap doesn't even fit my head but sticks up above my scalp. How can I decrease the top of the wig cap there? Can i cut it and sew straight up the top middle to the crown, kind of on a slight diagonal, possibly?

Kalia Brown: Do you still provide your services? I have a few lace fronts my head measurement was correct but I think the fact I suffer from hair loss has some to do with why my wigs felt lose and not snugged once so ever.....Your method is most definitely helpful but the stress for me when it came to the cutting into the wig cap hit different i worry about it still not coming out correctly

ru.talaa: So you sew one side then the opposite side then sew the MIDDLE last?

Natalie Boitel: Ok, I have extremely thin fine hair myself and I've recently had to cut my own hair very short due to health issues. I also have a very small head. I have a coupe of wigs that are too big in a couple of ways. For one the crown area is a dead giveaway that it is a wig, and the second and worst part is that the wig comes down over my ears and after a couple hours of wearing it, it begins to really hurt my ears and give me a bad headache. Will this trick work to fix both of these issues or is there anything else I can do to remedy the size ?

twinstar9: What if the wig is too wide, meaning the person's head measurement from the top of one ear, over the top of the head, to the top of the other ear, is narrow? This makes the ear tabs rest on top of the ear because the wig is too wide.

Eno Avenue: Thank you. This is such a good tutorial. I'm going to try it today.

AdorableVI4U: Thank you! I can't wait to try this

Shay Barnes: I’m trying this tonight! I’ll let you know how it goes!

Debra Pierre-Louis: Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I will be doing this when I get home.

Dena Middleton: Thank you soooo much! That helped me out with my question.

alicia calkins: Hello, I love this video sooo much, I have had 3 strokes at a very young age, and my head stopped growing. I have to wear toddler size hats, and as an adult I have alopecia. I love my wig ,but it's too big. I would sooo much love some help..How do I send it to you? Thank you for your time.

queen2b1976: Thank u....I have a small head and other tricks haven't worked....until your way. I always have sizing issues with wigs...but now that I've learned a new way....I'm even more excited to buy wigs

kelli: I'm wondering can't you just close the gaps between some of the tracks on the wig instead of cutting a section out?

Lisa Lee: Instant like! As always, Thank you for sharing !!

Simmer Jen Jen: Thank you so much This helped a lot

A W: My head measures 23.5 and anytime I purchase a unit it never, never, never reaches to my edges. They are always too short. I have yet to purchase a wig that fits me correctly. I just stopped purchasing them. I am going to try to make one today.

Thanks in Advance.: Thank you so much as always.

S Shh: About a year ago I lost all my hair, I tried this on my first wig that I saved up for as it didn’t fit me properly and I have completely ruined it to the point it won’t even stay on my head, please can someone give me any tips on what to do? I can’t afford another one so I will have to sort this one out somehow thank you

Modesty Jones: You a bad lady!!! Thank you for this..much needed video!! U always post stuff I b waiting/looking for!!

Dottie Free: I bought an average size wig at a boutique but I have a small head/petite. The wig cap sticks up above my scalp right on the top of my head where it is hand tied. Not sure if I can alter it. The stylist told me I'd get used to how poofy it looks and she trimmed it twice a little. I went and removed two rows of wefts but still it doesn't cling to my little head. What to do?

Dana Lewis: This video was much needed. Thank the Heavenly Father for you Meechie! Glad u are back!!!!

Asia Marks: This is exactly what I was looking for!

Getmiamor: Meechie is Always my go to youtuber

Sandra Lin: I have a rather larger head and i'm scared to purchase wigs from companies because this. I usually end up buying bundles and making my own wigs at home. When you said you have a bigger head I became hopeful. May you tell me if you are a 23 inch circumference? Is this considered a large wig cap?
